I know there is this widely held perception that Season 3 of The Mandalorian had silly moments and made some comically strange story choices, which I can totally admit myself. I mean the bit in 03x04 where they all scatter to eat, but Bo is allowed to remain sitting by the fire was kind of hilarious and blatantly just because they wanted a helmetless scene in that episode.
And I won't complain too much because more Katee Sackhoff on my screen is never a bad thing.
Tumblr media
But come on! The Mandalorian has always had goofy, unserious moments that if you contemplate for more than a second, your head threatens to fly off because of how daft it can be, at times.
For instance, in 1x04 Sanctuary, when Din removes his helmet on Sorgan in froNT OF AN OPEN WINDOW?!!?!
I know they did it for dramatic effect, to demonstrate how long he has worn his helmet, but if one of those kids looked around it would've been CURTAINS FOR HIM. Okay it might have been dark, sure, whatever but I cannot imagine someone as devout as Din would even take that risk! The Creed is everything to him.
Tumblr media
Also, this man who we have seen for an entire season being such a competent and capable warrior has apparently never had a jetpack before Chapter 8. The best bounty hunter in the parsec cannot fly?! Then, immediately after getting it from The Armorer, with no training, he conveniently uses it immediately to blow up a TIE fighter and (seemingly) defeat Moff Gideon?!!?!
Tumblr media
Not to mention how silly it is Gideon survived that initial skirmish... and probably survives in Season 3 too but we'll deal with that when it comes to it.
It isn't just Season One, either. There are also some parts of Season 2 which leave me scraching my head slightly, like in The Believer when the terminal needs to scan a face. Not a specific face, just any face. It doesn't make much sense. Again, not complaining, more Pedro Pascal on my screen is never a bad thing.
Tumblr media
Not to mention how convenient Din getting the beskar spear was right before his duel with Gideon for the Darksaber. A weapon which is coincidentally one of the few which can parry the sacred blade!
Anyway, I don't hate any of these moments at all, I just feel like fans used to be so much more lenient.
Of course season 3 has some hmmmmm moments too, but there have always been questionable decisions right from the start. Star Wars fans are always going to nitpick and it mostly comes from a good place. I just wish there could be a bit more of a ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ attitude sometimes.
Nothing is perfect, but this show has had so many enjoyable moments and such compelling characters that I can let some silliness slide. Star Wars should always be a little goofy and silly and for me, long may that continue!

• Visions (S1E4) - EDUK
• Tales of the Jedi (Episode 1) - 36BBY
• Phantom Menace - 32BBY
• Tales of the Jedi (Episode 4) - 32BBY (Simultaneous with Phantom Menace, but continues after)
• Attack of the Clones - 22BBY

• TCW (S3E4) - 21BBY
• TCW (S3E8) - 21BBY
• TCW (S1E22) - 21BBY

• TCW (S5E14-20) - 19BBY
• TCW (S6) - 19BBY
• TCW (S7E5-8) - 19BBY
• TCW (S7E1-4) - 19BBY
• TCW (S7E9-12) - 19BBY
• Tales of the Jedi (Episode 5) - 22-19BBY
• Revenge of the Sith - 19BBY
• Bad Batch - 19-18BBY
• Tales of the Jedi (Episode 6) - 18BBY
• Visions (S1E2) - ~18BBY
• Visions (S1E8) - EDUK
• Solo - 13-10BBY
• Visions (S2E8) - EDUK
• Visions (S2E3) - EDUK
• Visions (S1E6) - EDUK
• Kenobi - 9BBY
• Visions (S2E7) - EDUK
• Andor - 5BBY (Simultaneous with first season of rebels)
• Rebels - 5-1BBY
• Rogue One - 0BBY
• A New Hope - 0BBY (Starts 5 minutes after the end of Rogue One)
• Visions (S1E9) - EDUK
• Visions (S2E6) - EDUK
• The Empire Strikes Back - 3ABY
• Return of the Jedi - 4ABY
• Visions (S1E1) - EDUK
• The Mandalorian (Seasons 1 and 2) - 9-10ABY
• Book of Boba Fett - 10ABY
• Visions (S2 Episode 4) - EDUK
• The Mandalorian (Season 3) - 11ABY
• Ahsoka - 11ABY (Simultaneous with season 3 of The Mandalorian)
I didn't include any of the Visions episodes that are clearly before 100BBY simply because they would be next to impossible to date. While the other Visions episodes, for the most part, cannot be CLEARLY dated, they're pretty easy to ballpark with outfits, ship styles, comments made by the characters, and the presence or absence of the Empire.

I didn't watch the acolyte or any of the other things that were slammed by the chuds. The only star wars adjacent series I watched was the mandalorian. But it's fucked that they'd flat out cancel this one when the other ones were also apparently (from the reviews) not very good. I don't even know what was so bad about the acolyte. The least mean reviews just said it was boring but like... The other ones also got that so?? The only explanation is really misogyny and racism from what I can assess. It's not the actors' fault that the script was messy and incoherent (which was another thing I saw less vitriolic reviews say about these flopped star wars adjacent things). But I don't know anything really. And I don't really have time to watch shows at the moment. Why was this show in particular (aside from the racism and misogyny) so slammed? I hardly even know what it's about (I know the star wars lore so, if you're in the mood for a cliff's notes reply, you can bear that in mind).
all you need to know is that it would not have been cancelled if everyone in this show was white
there are questionable things that are definitely worth the criticism like 2 flashback episodes (there were 8 episodes in total), poor decision making from the characters and stiff acting from some people but i felt it was compensated by the risks which were taken: set in a era completely unknown to the general public, some compelling characters that surprised us, amazing lightsaber battles, a super interesting villain (aka manny)
and all of this could have been vastly improved if it was a 15 episodes season instead of 8 episodes which duration varied between 30 to 46 minutes

I do! Or at least i try to 😭
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
the mandalorian!Bakugo arranged marriage ficlet 😞
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most of them are happy endings because I am a marshmallow heart that wants us to enjoy sweet things lol - but I think my favorite happy ending is a tie between hades!gojo & javi p mermaid!reader

I got hate on one of my Joel fics and I just had to laugh because it was such a wild critique lol

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I love to see it but for me writing - it depends on the fic! Like I love getting to sometimes write in Spanish
But I’ve also known how tricky it can be trying to write in other languages for certain fics (like my hopes of writing a small scene in Japanese or even in the many languages in Star Wars fics sometimes just doesn’t flow or read well)
19. First fandom you wrote in?
…full metal alchemist…
20. Favorite fic you've written?
Omg pls don’t make me pick - they all hold a special place in my heart :(

Note
I’m a Star Wars virgin lol how would u recommend I watch the films? cause omfg that mf anakin is sexy but I don’t know where to start I wanted to watch it a few weeks ago in release date form but idk
Okay if you’re watching strictly movies (called episodes):
4 (a new hope) -> 5 (empire strikes back) -> 6 (return of the Jedi) -> 1 (phantom menace), -> 2 (attack of the clones) -> 3 (revenge of the sith) -> 7 (the force awakens) -> 8 (the last jedi) -> 9 (the rise of skywalker).
Those movies are the trilogies. The original trilogy (episodes 4,5,6), the prequel trilogy (episodes 1,2,3), and the sequel trilogy (episodes 7,8,9). I highly recommend at least the originals and the prequels. The sequel series gets a lot of complaints because of some questionable writing choices, but I still do enjoy them and the actors’ performances. Those trilogies are the core of the Star Wars fandom. They are the must-sees if you want to know what people are talking about.
If you’re focused on anakin specifically, he’s the center of the prequel trilogy and also appears in a show that I’ll talk about later. Do not skip straight to his movies, watch the original trilogy first, but you don’t have too many movies to get through before you meet him.
Other movies:
Solo is a movie about Han Solo’s younger years and it takes place before episode 4, but I recommend you watch it after you watch all three trilogies in that order, as it was released after Han’s main presence in the franchise (episodes 4, 5, and 6).
Rogue one is a move that takes place directly before episode 4, and I also recommend watching that after you finish the trilogies. One of the main characters in rogue one is Cassian Andor, and he has his own spin-off series, Andor (1 season), which takes place before rogue one.
Series:
If you do want to delve into series, there are a lot 😅 I’m only going to go over the ‘main/relevant’ ones (if your favorite isn’t on this list I’m not insulting it. I’m just trying not to overload newcomers with a thousand series that don’t matter to casual fans, and will most likely focus on the newer series. This isn’t meant to start an argument.) but let it be known that I like all of the series, I just think that they aren’t always essential to a basic knowledge of the franchise. This post isn’t written as a Bible, I’m not trying to put down every series or spin-off ever made, it’s a quick and easy guide.
All of these should be watched AFTER completing the trilogies.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a 7-season show that takes place between episodes 2 and 3 (the last 2 of the prequel trilogy). It is consistently regarded as a fan-favorite and it gives fantastic insight into the huge gap between those movies, and helps flesh out a lot of amazing characters (pssst… you like anakin already? he’s an MC ;) ). Seriously the show is like people’s favorite Star Wars Thing ever, so if you do end up moving on from the movies and you want to watch more content, I strongly recommend it.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a one season series centered around Obi-Wan, a character that appears in the prequel trilogy and the original trilogy. Honestly I like the plot but I really fucking love it bc he’s one of my favorite characters and also anakin is in it so if you finish the trilogies and want more of him, I think you’d like Obi-Wan. It takes place between the prequel trilogy and the original trilogy, but closer to the end of episode 3.
The Mandalorian is a three season series that takes place after the original trilogy. Din Djarin (the mandalorian himself) appears in a few episodes of The Book of Boba Fett. This show gained enormous popularity because of both Pedro pascal’s role as the MC and how much of a phenomenon ‘baby yoda’ (grogu) became, so i would honestly recommend it so that you know what people are talking about if they mention it.
those are the series I most recommend.
The Book of Boba Fett is a one season series that centers around the bounty hunter Boba Fett, who’s main presence in the franchise is in episodes 5 and 6. However, he also appears in episode 2. A lot of people really like Boba Fett as well as Din’s appearances, so I am including this series on the list. However, I don’t really think you need to watch it unless you really like him or Din lmfao.
Ahsoka is one season, currently being released over a few weeks on Disney+, and centers around Ahsoka (Anakin’s former padawan, developed in the clone wars series I mentioned before, also in the mandalorian for a short time). I am behind and I haven’t watched the two episodes that have come out yet, so I don’t know if they’re good, but that series is what’s currently coming out, so I figured I’d mention it.
Once more if you’re a seasoned fan and I didn’t include your favorite media please don’t come at me, I know I left stuff out. Hardcore Star Wars fans are fucking cutthroat and I’m not citing these as the only series ever or the only series that matter, I’m just trying to help confused people navigate the overwhelming amount of content the franchise has to offer.
I hope this helps, even if you just want to watch the movies. I also hope I didn’t overwhelm you, I really did try to narrow stuff down!

20 Questions for Fic Writers
I saw @clonethirstingisreal's version and (since tagging was open season) I thought this looked fun and wanted give it a go!
**Some questions have been modified slightly since I have an account but don't post on Ao3.**
Tumblr media
1.) How many works do you have on [Tumblr]?
Excluding an OC storyline, my breakdown looks something like this:
The Bad Batch: 23 published fics The Clone Wars: 11 published fics The Mandalorian: 2 published fics + four more Clone fics in a "mixed" category
Assuming I did my math right: 40 published fics
2.) What's your total [Tumblr] word count?
Excluding same storyline as before, drumroll please........
Upwards of 186,744 words! [Four fics did not have word counts] That's a lot of yappin'.
3.) What fandoms do you write for?
Within the Star Wars franchise, TBB, TCW, and Mando.
4.) What are your top five fics by [Notes]?
I didn't check specifics, but the earlier chapters of my Sorry, Wrong Comms! series have likely racked up the most likes and reblogs of anything I've published.
5.) Do you respond to comments?
I do! 🩷 I do my best to respond to everything; but things have inevitably slipped under the radar I'm sure...
6.) What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I would say an installment out of the OC storyline has that achievement, currently. Non-OC, I'm less certain, if I'm honest.
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Maybe the Hunter x Reader request I'm currently working on?
8.) Do you get hate on fics?
It's happened a (small) handful of times. Unfortunate, but expected.
Once was racially charged in nature, think it was after I published Tide Pools? Deleted it. Don't remember what it said anymore.
The other was just today, accusing me of "disguised clonecest". Meh.
9.) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No, I'm not quite comfortable with writing smut outside of a fantasy side project I've been working on. It's... not really all that spicy, anyhow. 😅
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Haven't written a good ol' crossover in a long time, I'm afraid!
[ERROR 404: QUESTION 11 NOT FOUND]
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
13.) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Also nope. But I would be willing, with the right person.
14.) What's your favorite ship?
Clones x Happy AUs.
15.) What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a Savage Opress fic buried somewhere that I think about time to time... but I don't know where it is saved, sadly.
16.) What are your writing strengths?
Coming up with a lot of creative ideas. Descriptive writing.
17.) What are your writing weaknesses?
Sticking to an idea... Maybe too much descriptive writing...
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
Has good narrative uses! I like doing it myself for SW fics. Just have to balance a wobbly line of not overdoing it.
19.) First fandom you wrote for?
The Avengers, most likely?
20.) Favorite fic you've written?
Maybe the S,WC! series honestly. There are parts I've looked back on a year later and know I could write a whole lot better now, but given that the series was my first major fanfic project after years of writer's block, I appreciate it for what it is.
A standalone fic might be Fireside Friendship.
