daily whistlebreeze until spo becomes PoV day 1398
I like seeing how different I can make gray cats by throwing Whis at them; anyways, Spotfur's been on my mind tonight
#warrior cats#whistlebreeze#spotfur#windclan#medicine cat#warrior#mostly thinking about all the potential she has that was never really used#how Spotfur's rebellion flopped so badly by being Like That#and how she literally stopped existing in ASC#woman has a COMPLICATED relation with having children because her mate died#next arc she's just a generic queen#goddamn these books piss me off sometimes with how neglectful they are about their characters#and it's not like this surprises me. Let's remember I am DAILY WHISTLEBREEZE#I have been drawing a random nobody for nearly four years now and you can still barely give anything Specific about Whis from the books#yeah FrostWhistle. Whis is kind and helpful and they saved each other and it's cool#yeah Ivypool's heart is a thing#but does it really characterise Whis in any interesting way whatsoever?#in my opinion not really no#I've searched fro every instance of Whis appearing on screen and it's mostly Whis being thrown around by the plot or the other cats#or by a fucking rabbit#a few cool things you can say is how Determined Whis was to save Leafkit. that's something#and you could also say that Whis prioritising helping Frost above obeying The Code is something too#but you have to Extrapolate all of this#the books don't give you any insight on what's going on in Whis' mind#and they won't#and that's what they do to most cats in their books#and we all know it and we all just see canon happen and then take the bits that interest us and make it Better#and yeah Spotfur is one of those cats that would really enjoy that treatment#Spotfur has drama on both a political level and interpersonal one (Bris Stem her kits and even her siblings just fucking off n stuff)#and they made her such a weak character by giving us Spotfur's rebellion

Radio Silence | The Best Wedding Ever Group-Chat (Interlude)
Lando Norris x Amelia Brown (OFC)
Series Masterlist
Summary — Order is everything. Her habits aren’t quirks, they’re survival techniques. And only three people in the world have permission to touch her: Mom, Dad, Fernando.
Then Lando Norris happens.
One moment. One line crossed. No going back.
Warnings — Autistic!OFC, groupchat chaos, everyone being a mess.
Notes — This was so fun. Full length usual chapter coming tomorrow! MCLAREN DOMINANCE IN MIAMI YEE HAW
Want to be added to the taglist? Let me know! — Peach x
The reception was in full swing, a soft golden haze settling across the garden as the sun dipped low behind the trees. Music played gently under the hum of voices and clinking glasses. Amelia stood at the edge of the marquee, her dress slightly lifted off the grass, one hand clutching the stem of a flute she hadn’t finished. Her other hand played absently with the beading on her bodice, calm but overstimulated—buoyed by love, yes, but also exhausted by the sheer amount of day in the day.
Max found her there, where the noise thinned. He didn’t announce himself. “You survived,” he said, offering her a chilled glass of water instead of more champagne.
She took it gratefully. “Thank you.”
He nodded toward the dance floor, where Lando was trying to twirl his mum to the beat of a song that wasn’t quite slow enough. “He cried.”
Amelia sighed, but she was smiling. “Yes. He’s very dramatic.”
Max gave her an amused look. “I saw your eyes watering while you were walking the aisle.”
Amelia shrugged. “That was only because you all stood up at once. It startled me.”
Max let out a quiet laugh and bumped his shoulder lightly against hers. “You look very beautiful, zusje.”
“Thank you. Pietra said that I suit white.”
“Yeah, well, she was right.” There was a pause. Then he added, “You know, I’m still surprised we all managed to keep the bouncy castle a secret from him. I’m pretty sure everyone else knew. Everyone in the group-chat anyway.”
Amelia blinked. “The group-chat?” She made a face. “Oh! Oh, I remember him making one, I think. A few weeks ago…”
Max nodded. “It was just the drivers.” He smirked. “It was supposed to be strictly for moral support and wedding plans… It ended up being an absolute mess. You’d hate it.”
“Would I?” She asked, curiously.
He nodded, his eyes sparkling. “Oh, definitely. Want to see?”
She held out her hand. “Obviously.”

The Spycrab. Why does it exist?
What is a Spycrab?
A Spycrab is an iconic animation bug for the Spy from Team Fortress 2. This bug was introduced since the game’s launch in 2007 and still exists today!
youtube
This post will cover on what causes this bug happen, how to fix it, and why it SHOULDN’T be fixed.
Debugging the Spycrab
First we need to know how do you become a Spycrab in TF2. To become a Spycrab the player have to pull out the disguise kit, crouch, look up, then start moving in any direction.
This give us a clue on what’s going on. The issue is related to looking around while crouching with the Spy’s disguise kit. We can take a look at how Valve setup the Spy’s animations since they provided the model sources in the Source SDK. Let’s take a look at spy_movement.qci since that’s where they handle all of the animations related to moving around. From this point I will refer the disguise kit as PDA since that’s what it called in the sources. Looking at the entry for Crouch_PDA and Crouch_Walk_PDA everything seems to be written correctly. Theres nothing wrong with the code itself
Line 15: $sequence Crouch_PDA PDA_crouch_idle loop alignto a_reference addlayer PDA_aimmatrix_crouch_idle activity ACT_MP_CROUCH_PDA 1
Line 424: $MPCrouchWalkWithWeapon Crouch_Walk_PDA 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 PDA_crouch_walkN PDA_crouch_walkCenter PDA_aimmatrix_crouch_idle ACT_MP_CROUCHWALK_PDA $infoNode$
This means that the issue is coming from one of the animations itself. Lets load up the PDA crouch animations in SFM and compare with the normal stand up animations.
Everything looks fine however there’s something odd with the pda_aimmatrix_crouch_idle animation. It’s in a different pose entirely! To summarize what a aim matrix do, the animator put the character in various poses mimicking that the character is looking around. The game will take those poses and blend between them depending on what direction the player is looking. Generally you don’t want to stray way from the idle pose too much since it can cause potential problems when blending between various poses at once.
With closer inspection, it seems the pda_aimmatrix_crouch_idle animation is actually an early version of the spy’s knife aim matrix animation. Here’s both aim matrices side by side.
The Fix
Now knowing that the bug is created by accidentally exporting another aim matrix animation for the wrong weapon. The fix is actually very simple! Without touching the animation files itself. We can go into the spy_movement.qci and replace any mention of pda_aimmatrix_crouch_idle with pda_aimmatrix_idle and that’s it! Compiling spy_animations.qc and loading up TF2 we will see the Spycrab no longer works.
But should this bug really be fixed?
This is the part where I tell you that the Spycrab bug should never be fixed in TF2. Even though this bug was stemmed from a mistake and it’s pretty simple to fix. This bug should never be fixed purely because it’s very important for the game’s history and community. After this bug was discovered and popularized back in 2008. It spawns plenty of memes within the community and in-game references from community cosmetics and unusuals, an official rare taunt for the disguise kit, warpaints, and a poster from the map Carnival of Carnage a Halloween reskin of Doomsday.
Hopefully this post provide some interesting insight on how this iconic bug was created and the process of debugging animations in Source Engine!

Injury prompt 29?
Just got another f!Agent through Taris recently, so have some Ody/Chance where neither of them are having a good time. :) ---
Odessa's knees were cold from the metal floor, her hands cold from the aborted gasp of her keyword by the man sprawled unconscious and bleeding next to her.
See? her thoughts taunted, He might say he disagrees, but get him desperate enough, he's just as bad as his boss.
Shut up, she retorted, scanning Chance's injuries, trying to determined which were worst. Easier said than sorted; he hadn't been kidding about the shrapnel.
You can't trust the Republic, no matter what ideals they spew.
Shut. Up. Bad as it all looked, the bloodstain above his hip was spreading with uncomfortable speed, so Odessa pressed her hands there to stem it.
Chance's eyes flew open with a ragged gasp at the pressure.
Much as she regretted hurting him--yes, even under the circumstances--it was a bit of a relief. "Chance. Chance." His eyes were hazy when he tried to focus on her and she knew she didn't have much time. "I need... There aren't enough supplies in my kit for everything. Tell me what hurts, and be specific."
Injured and half-delirious as he was, it took him a moment. "Side... where hands... nnnngh- ribs..." his voice was already fading, and Odessa shifted her hands, trying to keep him conscious. "...leg hurts worst..."
That didn't match what she was seeing, but there was a lot of shrapnel, and he passed out again so it wasn't like she could double-check.
"And for the record? I don't agree with how Master Kothe is using the command codes..."
"Vector, my medkit-" she started to say, but he was two steps ahead, already holding out a kolto injector and roll of medseal.
He nodded. "We are here if you need us." The black, pupil-less eyes were impossible to read for his opinion of her actions.
"Keyword: onomatophobia... I'm sorry. It's just... I don't want to die like this..."
Odessa grit her teeth against the stinging memory. He likes you and even he couldn't help but exploit it. She shooed the thought away so she could focus.
Can't really claim I would do different.
The kolto kicked in, the bleeding slowed and stopped--though it took long enough for the latter to make her nervous. Chance's breathing was shallow but steady, and he stayed out the whole time she was working. Once the bleeding stopped, she pulled his shirt out of the way to apply bacta patches and medseal over the worst injuries on his stomach and chest, wrapped it over his pants for the smaller shrapnel wounds on his leg. She didn't envy whichever Republic medtech had to patch him up properly, but for now he was stable.
She sat back on her heels, staring at her hands, at his blood drying in the lines of her palms. Tried to hold a roiling wave of emotion in check.
I'm glad he's okay-
He used the keyword-
I didn't--don't--want him to die-
Fortunately, the entire saga was done by the time Chance stirred, Odessa's inner turmoil back behind her mask when his eyes opened.
"Oh..." he mumbled, gingerly shifting to sit leaned against the stack of crates. "...I half expected to not wake up..."
"Oh, you weren't injured that badly," Odessa said sweetly, innocently. Slightly lying to sidestep the other reason completely. "I'm not so terrible a medic I couldn't handle a little shrapnel."
"Legate, I..." the words trailed off in a pained grimace.
"We should get you on your way before the painkillers wear off." She pushed to her feet and gently helped him stand as well. "That is, if you think you can make it?" She had to meet this scientist, but afterward, if he needed....
"I can make it," Chance insisted, though he leaned on her heavily a moment. Several emotions passed over his face as straightened--far too easily read for a spy. "...Thank you. Good luck with... with Dr. Cel."
Odessa simply nodded, and wondered at her odds of ever seeing him again as he walked away.
---
He'd meant it when he said he could make it to a Republic airlift; there was a base not even half a klick from the ruined hospital. He had a stealth generator to avoid the rakghouls and any more Imperial patrols.
But he hadn't accounted for the damage to his leg being too much for fieldkit-issue painkillers to completely dull. Maybe he should've taken her up on extra help...
No. The scientist is more important to the mission, and besides, you've asked enough of her.
He cringed at the memory of the words leaving his mouth in a rush of pain and desperation. "Keyword: Onomatophobia...."
He did think it wrong, but that hadn't stopped him. He could almost taste the guilt alongside the coppery tang of blood. That probably wasn't a good sign.
He could see the lights of Aurek, almost there. Pain lanced through his side and he bit back a cry. There were still rakghouls, even if they couldn't see him.
"I'm sorry, thank you, you're a better person than most..." A litany of things he should have said ran through his mind as spots started dancing at the edge of his vision. No, almost there, hang on....
He exited stealth outside the base perimeter, called out to identify himself, and stopped fighting to stay conscious as soon as he felt supportive hands reach for him.
He hoped he survived. He had an apology to make.

A message for Moonkitti:
Thornclaw and Blossomfall’s relationship is not okay. The age gap is disgusting. It doesn’t matter if they’re both adults. This is actually very dangerous to say. I believed that this was normal for established adults with huge age gaps to be in relationships because of this statement. Thornclaw was born at least two generations before Blossomfall. Thornclaw was an established senior warrior when she was an apprentice.
Blossomfall should have ended up with Ivypool. No, I’m not saying that because I got severely into the animation and art side of the warrior cats community from that weirdo Draikinator. I’m saying that they had a lot of canon potential in Omen of the stars. What’s worse is that Fernsong is an entire generation after Ivypool, and although their relationship is wholesome on the surface with Fern wanting to stay in the nursery with Ivy and her kits, we never see this in any books where Bristle is even mentioned, and we never hear from it from Bristle’s POV.
Plus, IvyFern makes ThunderClan’s inbreeding problem even worse, whilst IvyBlossom would have brought in genetic diversity with an adoptive litter of kits or if a surrogate father from another clan or a kittypet came into the picture. In my ideal writing of post Omen of the Stars, IvyBlossom would have happened somewhere in Dovewing’s silence when they bond over their experience in the dark forest, and I hate how conservative Blossomfall is despite her kittypet mother (who she hates btw. She should have learned to forgive her.) Bristle, Thrift, and Flip would have been adoptive or conceived through a surrogate THAT IS NOT FERNSONG OR THORNCLAW, and the patrol kits wouldn’t happen, or would be Mousewhisker and Minnowtail’s secret litter with different looks. That way, Stem would have more of a reason to be against the “code breakers” when it’s outed in TBC that Mouse and Minnow had kits together and they had to atone.
I hate it when people take a YouTuber’s word as law in the warrior cats community. Draik was a huge problem because of this. Whilst Moonkitti is a bit less problematic, her proposing Blossom and Thorn’s relationship as okay despite both cats being generations apart is disgusting. Thorn could easily be Blossom’s grandpa.

My niece is, understandably, angry at me because I haven't been in touch with her.
But I'm not welcome at that house, and haven't been since August. I also haven't talked to my sister since August. I haven't texted my mom since Halloween. She hasn't replied to me since we'll before that. My brother? He messaged me today, to be kind of an ass. He's the reason I'm not speaking to my family, actually - I'm not mad at anyone else but him.
I'm not mad at Madison, and I accept her anger. But man, it bums a bitch out. I went and dropped off her Christmas presents - one from each of us - and I just left them on the porch.
We always get her STEM stuff, because she loves Girls Who Code and shit like that. Raven found a robotics kit at Costco back in October and bought it for her without even thinking twice, because they loved the idea of her playing with robots. I've been at work since shortly after that on her present.
At first I was gonna put together a beginning soldering kit for her but I figured she needed a better education in the basics so I made her a paper circuit kit - a binder of info and a bunch of circuit patterns and cardstock to print out the things, and components. LED lights, switches, copper conductive tape, etc. All of the accessories she'd need.
I hope she uses it and likes it, instead of tossing it.

@yuexian: in the peaceful morning of qiaoying village, gao ying sat outside under a tree —— for once appearing at peace with himself. in his lap was a flat surface and atop it was parchment, words inked by the quill in his left hand. after finishing the letter, he prepares it accordingly and gave it to a passing courier, who then delivered it to the adventurer’s guild in yilong wharf so it can then be sent to wriothesley in fontaine.
the letter is as follows:
my treasure,
it has been a long time since we have seen each other — a month, in fact. our duties keep each other apart more than i would like, but perhaps this letter shall suffice to stem the tide. how is sigewinne? the last time i have seen her, she insisted on braiding my hair and tying it together with a ribbon reminiscent of your breathtaking crimson. however, this is not the true reason behind this.
maybe we can schedule a couple days to ourselves: here in chenyu vale? i can show you the sights i have yet to bring you to, and we can relax in peaceful nature. it will do wonders for your body.
P.S. i have taken the liberty in including a small agarwood incense kit. the healing properties of this aroma is reputable in liyue. the instructions in preparing it are also included.
P.P.S. respond as quickly as you can. i eagerly wait.
your beloved,
gao ying.
The Duke settles behind his desk, tossing down the stack of correspondence previously brought to him by a member of staff from the mail room. The majority, he knows, will be of little interest to him - requests to visit the Fortress, or meetings with people he has no intention of ever indulging. Occasionally, he will receive updates from his various informants across Teyvat (coded letters, of course), but more commonly, whatever is left will be work related.
So, when a package bearing the unmistakable stamp of Liyue slides free from the stack, he cannot help but feel a spike of excitement - not least because he recognises that handwriting.
The rest of his mail is subsequently forgotten as he hurries to open it, for now setting aside what appears to be an incense kit of some kind, in favour of getting to the enclosed letter within. His gaze scans first to the bottom of the page, seeking the sender's name to confirm his (hopeful) suspicions.
Gao Ying.
He's smiling before it even registers, a warmth settling in his chest as he sits back to read through the letter - but he is only two words in when the breath catches in his throat. My treasure.
To say that Wriothesley has never considered himself worth anything is somewhat of an understatement. In fact, he would argue that it was proven fact: not even those mora-greedy "parents" of his had considered him worth a second thought, after all (a mistake of theirs, as it happened, but nonetheless-)
And he was fine with that.
Or so he'd thought, until right now, when two simple words have rendered him so utterly breathless.
There is a well of emotion rising in his throat as he forces himself to read on, a well that threatens to spill over at the proposal of taking some time with his beloved. He reads the letter twice before he sets it down, and inspects the incense kit sent to heal him. Gao Ying is looking after him all the way from Chenyu Vale, it seems.
Perhaps he will give it a try tonight, once the work day is done. For now, though, he has a letter to compose - and a schedule to inspect. He's sure he can leave his Fortress in some capable hands for a day or two.
#yuexian#muse; wriothesley (genpact)#source; g.enshin#;with your tender touch you showed me that i am worthy of being loved (yuexian; gao ying & wriothesley)#( congrats gao ying you broke him )#( someone is getting tackled to the ground when he rocks up in chenyu vale- )

Create Your Own Jurassic World: How to Make a STEM Toy Dinosaur Egg for Kids!
How to Make a STEM Toy Dinosaur Egg: A Fun and Educational Project for Kids
Introduction: STEM education is becoming increasingly popular as parents and educators recognize the importance of providing children with opportunities to develop skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. One way to engage kids in STEM learning is through hands-on projects that are both fun and educational. In this blog post, we'll show you how to make a STEM toy dinosaur egg that will inspire kids to explore the world of science and engineering.
Materials Needed for Making a STEM Toy Dinosaur Egg
To make a STEM toy dinosaur egg, you will need the following materials:
Plaster of Paris
Water
Plastic Easter eggs
Small plastic dinosaur toys
Food coloring (optional)
Mixing bowl
Spoon
Measuring cup
Newspaper or plastic sheet
Step-by-Step Guide to Making a STEM Toy Dinosaur Egg
Follow these easy steps to make your very own STEM toy dinosaur egg:
Step 1: Cover your work area with newspaper or a plastic sheet to protect it from spills and mess.
Step 2: Mix the plaster of Paris and water according to the instructions on the package. For best results, use a 2:1 ratio of plaster to water.
Step 3: Add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture if you want to give the egg a colored tint. This step is optional but can add an extra element of fun to the project.
Step 4: Carefully pour the plaster mixture into the plastic Easter eggs until they are about half full.
Step 5: Place a small plastic dinosaur toy inside the egg, making sure it is fully submerged in the plaster.
Step 6: Fill the egg with the remaining plaster mixture until it is almost full.
Step 7: Close the egg and shake it gently to remove any air bubbles.
Step 8: Let the egg sit for about an hour or until the plaster has fully hardened.
Step 9: Once the plaster has hardened, carefully remove the eggshell by gently tapping it with a spoon or a hammer. Be sure to do this over a soft surface, such as a towel or a piece of foam, to prevent the dinosaur from getting damaged.
Step 10: Once the eggshell is removed, you will have a STEM toy dinosaur egg with a small plastic dinosaur inside. You can paint or decorate the egg to make it look more realistic.
The Educational Benefits of Making a STEM Toy Dinosaur Egg
Making a STEM toy dinosaur egg is not only a fun and creative activity, but it also promotes learning in several STEM areas:
Science: Kids learn about the properties of plaster, the chemical reaction that occurs when mixing plaster and water, and how the plaster hardens over time.
Technology: Kids use their hands and tools to mix the plaster, pour it into the egg, and remove the eggshell.
Engineering: Kids learn how to follow step-by-step instructions and use trial and error to perfect their technique.
Mathematics: Kids use measuring cups and spoons to measure the amount of plaster and water needed.
Incorporating STEM Toys into Playtime
STEM toys are an excellent way to introduce kids to STEM concepts in a fun and engaging way. They encourage kids to explore and experiment, develop problem-solving skills, and promote creativity and critical thinking. Incorporating STEM toys into playtime can also help kids develop an interest in STEM subjects and potentially lead to future career paths.
