Sunny is a laid-back, eccentric hippie that didn’t fit in with Salmonid society; instead, free spirit that she is, she decided to wander the land and eventually settled down in the Splatlands to paint landscapes, meditate and commune with the Earth. She met Flow in her younger days hitchhiking to music festivals, but now she’s living with Maw Maw and tends to their garden behind the diner- although not a lot of her vegetables make it into Maw Maw’s greasy, feel-good meals!
THIS LITERALLY CHEERED ME UP SM I WAS FEELING SO ASS
i was booyahing at "AAAAAAHHH!!!" cus they had a really funny title and name combo (wibbly wobbly state of mind) and then everyone decided to become a sentient blob of macaroni cheese sauce together. if any of u see this ily/p
tbh I feel like nintendo kinda dropped the ball with the Salmonids in s3.
We did get cool stuff like a bit more lore on the Salmonids in general, the entire Big Run concept is fantastic and my favorite event in the game, and Little Buddy being in the story mode was great.
However people now think of Salmonid as pets because of the whole Little Buddy thing. They’re not. They’re fully sentient creatures just like inkfish.
Also the BIG Big run just announced didn’t feel… big enough. Nor very innovative. Instead of doing something with the prophecy set up since s2 or doing something like Splatsville being invaded, it’s just… every big run map we’ve already had. That’s kinda boring. I’ve already played those maps, I want something new. The Triumviate attack is interesting at the least but pretty predictable; I kind of wish we got like some sort of “final boss King Salmonid. On top of that, the way it was shown off in the trailer gives the impression that it’s not really that special… doesn’t make it feel like the Final Big Run.
I’m heavily biased because I adore the Salmonids and their lore and culture fascinates me heavily, and I just wish nintendo would do something a little more interesting with them beyond “commit mass genocide against them or have them as a friend that everyone thinks is a pet”.
