‭Romans 5:1-2, 6-8, 12, 17 (NIV‬) [1] “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, [2] through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. [6] You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. [7] Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. [8] But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. [12] Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned— [17] For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!”

Whosoever, He said, commits sin, whether Jew or Greek, rich or poor, king or beggar, is the servant of sin. O miserable bondage! ...when wearied with the hardness of his tasks... whither does the slave of sin flee? He takes it along with him, wherever he goes; for his sin is within him. The pleasure passes away, but the sin does not pass away: its delight goes, its sting remains behind. He alone can free from sin, Who came without sin, and was made a sacrifice for sin. [With these truths,] Christ purposely alarms us first, and then gives us hope. He alarms us, that we may not love sin; He gives us hope, that we may not despair of the absolution of our sin. Our hope then is this, that we shall be freed by Him who is free. He has paid the price for us, not in money, but in His own blood: If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. Not from the barbarians, but from the devil; not from the captivity of the body, but from the wickedness of the soul. [Now] the first stage of freedom is, the abstaining from sin. But that is only incipient, it is not perfect freedom: for the flesh still lusts against the spirit, so that you do not do the things that you would. Full and perfect freedom will only be, when the contest is over, and the last enemy, death, is destroyed. Do not then abuse your freedom, for the purpose of sinning freely; but use it in order not to sin at all. Your will will be free, if it be merciful: you will be free, if you become the servant of righteousness.

see an important thing about the youth group Steph fic is that there's not this huge epiphany moment. there's not this big overwhelming moment of salvation or anything akin to it, there's just acceptance of truth. like, ok, maybe I'm the odd one out, but I was a believer YEARS before I ever recited the typical "I recognize that I'm a sinner, Jesus please come into my life" prayer, you know? sometimes it's not all at once. it's just stepping into that light.

The world wants peace, but rejects the Prince of Peace. The world wants love, but rejects the Author of Love. The world wants life, but rejects the One Who gave His to save theirs. The world desperately wants Jesus, but they're too busy rejecting Him to realize He's the answer.

Full Salvation By Grace Through Faith For Glory
Titus 2:11-14 Full Salvation By Grace  Your heart is the centre of your life. From the heart, blood flows to all the parts of the body to keep it healthy and strong. Full salvation starts at the heart and flows into your hand, to stop you from stealing, it flows into your eyes and changes what you read and what you view, it flows into your brain and directs how you think and reason. The beauty of…

God the Son Came Down
Sometime in eternity past, God the Father sent God the Son into the world to fulfill a divine mission. God’s Word tells us, “The Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world” (1 John 4:14). This was the great mission: to bring salvation to everyone. This act of God was done in love, as it is written, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in…

I took a BIG risk and it was so good in the few moments we got. It was everything. But now we could lose more and just...
I'm the adult and I'm supposed to act responsibly but when an opportunity presents to have real quality time with someone so fricken important- the rules just didn't matter as much as the need
But now I don't know what's gonna happen, and it's me who was supposed to ensure we did the right thing, so regardless of who suggested the idea, I'm at fault.
And I accept that
I-
I dunno man
I finally feel family. Real genuine connection. What a relation is meant to be. Something I had been longing for and never really experienced in the first two decades of my life. Something that has only really blossomed in the past five years.
And that family is kept from me
Behind all these barriers and requirements and mediators.
I just wanted to feel normal
I wanted him to be happy
I wanted to exist without observation
And I'm so afraid I fucked up by indulging in innocent joyful love
Family has been something that has been kept out of reach my entire life. As I trudge further into adulthood the need and longing only grows and it kills me that I'm turning 30 and all I have full access to is a somewhat strained and distant maternal relationship that invites only rare moments of genuine connection.
4 years is a long time to wait to be able to spend time with someone freely.
4 years is a long time to wait to be able to engage consistently.
4 years is a long time to wait when you've already been kept apart for 5+.
And a damn long time to restrict a connection so desperately necessary for beings who come from such a fractured family who have finally established a bond that's in line with what family is supposed to be.
I just hope we are given a chance. We both need a break. Life has been far from kind. To be punished for seeking connection is the last thing we need.
