It's been wild seeing the vibe completely shift on Switch 2 after the direct for both reasonable (game pricing) and less reasonable(misinfo about "Game Key Carts) reasons.

Everybody I saw who watched the direct live was 100% on board, the lowest point being the comically laggy screen share. The Zelda GPS was funny in a "I'm not going to use that", but I'm not going to lie and say that the playing the 3D Zeldas at 60fps, higher resolution, and massively improved load times isn't innately appealing.

But then the direct ended and there was no pricing revealed, and then people needed to scramble to find pricing online. BAM, Switch is $450. More expensive than most would like, but whatever. It's also like ~$330 for a region locked Japanese one for some reason, that's weird. BAM, Games are $80... well, just Mario Kart for now, DK is "still" $70. The "Upgrade Packs" are $10-$20, which on its own isn't that bad, especially if you already have the game. But Nintendo never drops their price, so BOTW will be on store shelves in a red box for $70 with the Switch 2 upgrade. BAM, somebody finds an article about "Game Key Cards" and misinformation that all Switch physical games are actually just carts that force you to download the game anyway, but actually it's just the latest version of those "download code" boxes that switch 1 has had forever, but instead of a downloads code there is a cart that "activates" the game when inserted. Presumably this means the games can be resold, but that's not clear as of yet.

It has just been a crazy thing to watch happen in real time.

I love that I am seeing reading comprehension discourse cause it really is the most. Varied discourse you could have online and it is also self sustaining anytime [as discourses do] someone misinterprets another person. I mean particular on any part of the internet that is “I have to be the most correct person with the most profound and meaningful idealogical take”. Where that makes u a condescending pseudointellectual or an overly denfensive antiintellectual. And i would say neither role actually requires u to be able to read or have compassion for people with reading struggles.

My high school today did one of those get a sample and free gift card promos for Dunkin today so me and my friend when school was out walked to the Dunkin right next to my house I got 2 Donuts and one of the rockstar energy mixes and my friend he got an iced coffee and a donut and of course we had to do the try each others drinks like normal friends because i told him to try mine which is the blue raspberry mix and his was a iced coffee with milk and whipped cream, we both agreed that they were good :D

Lots of Cambrian and Pre Cambrian sites visited as well as hiking an ice age trail. Wildlife I saw include a loon, garter snake den, eagles, lots of turkey vultures, and sap suckers (a type of woodpecker).
