Samson and Delilah
1 One time Samson went to Gaza. There he saw a prostitute and went to her. 2 The people of Gaza were told, “Samson has come here.” So they surrounded the town and lay in wait for him all night at the city gate, but they relaxed during the night, saying, “Let’s wait for the light of morning. Then we will kill him.”
3 But Samson slept only until midnight. He got up in the middle of the night, grabbed the doors of the city gate along with the two gateposts, pulled them up crossbar and all, set them on his shoulders, and took them up to the top of the hill opposite Hebron.
4 Sometime after that, Samson fell in love with a woman from the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah. 5 The serens of the Philistines approached her and said, “Persuade him to reveal where his great strength comes from and how we may overpower him, tie him up, and humiliate him. Each of us will give you eleven hundred shekels of silver.”
6 So Delilah said to Samson, “Please tell me what the source of your great strength is, and how you can be tied up in order to humiliate you.”
7 Samson answered her, “If anyone ties me up with seven new bowstrings that have not yet been dried, I will become weak and be like any other man.”
8 So the serens of the Philistines brought her seven new bowstrings that had not yet been dried, and she tied him up with them. 9 She had men hiding in the room waiting to ambush Samson, and she said to him, “Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But he snapped the bowstrings as easily as a flax thread that was scorched when brought near fire. So the source of his strength was not revealed.
10 Then Delilah said to Samson, “Look! You made a fool of me and told me lies. Now please tell me how you can be tied up.”
11 Samson answered her, “Actually, if anyone ties me up with new ropes that have never been used for work, I will become weak and be like any other man.”
12 So Delilah took new ropes and tied him up with them. Then she said to him, “Philistines are upon you, Samson!” There were men hiding in the room waiting to ambush Samson, but he tore the ropes off his arms as if they were thread.
13 Delilah said to Samson, “So far you have made a fool of me and told me lies. Tell me how you may be tied up!”
So he said to her, “If you weave the seven locks of my hair into the fabric of a loom ⎣and fasten them with a pin, I will be as weak as any other man.”
After she had waited for him to fall asleep, Delilah took the seven locks of his hair and wove them in the fabric of a loom. 14 She fastened them with the pin and said to him, “Philistines are upon you, Samson!” But Samson woke up from his sleep and pulled out the pin from the loom along with the fabric.
15 She said to him, “How can you say, ‘I love you,’ when your heart is not with me? This makes three times you have made a fool of me, and you have not told me where your great strength comes from.” 16 This was how she tormented him with her words day after day and nagged him until he was sick to death of it.
17 Finally he told her everything in his heart. He said to her, “A razor has never touched my head, because I have been a Nazirite dedicated to God from the womb of my mother. If I am ever shaved, my strength will desert me, and I will become weak and be like any other man.”
18 When Delilah saw that he told her everything in his heart, she sent for the serens of the Philistines, saying, “Come back one more time, for he has poured out his heart to me.”
The serens of the Philistines came up to her and brought the silver in their hands. 19 Delilah let Samson fall asleep on her lap. Then she called for a man and shaved off the seven locks of his head. She began his humiliation, because his strength had left him. 20 She said, “Philistines are upon you, Samson!” He awoke from his sleep and said, “I will go out as I have time after time, and I will shake myself free.” But he did not realize that the Lord had left him.
21 The Philistines seized him, gouged out his eyes, brought him down to Gaza, and restrained him with bronze shackles. He had to grind grain in the prison.
22 But the hair on his head began to grow after it had been shaved.
Samson’s Death
23 Meanwhile, the serens of the Philistines gathered to make a great sacrifice to their god Dagon and to celebrate. They said, “Our god has given our enemy Samson into our hands.”
24 When the people saw him, they praised their god: “Our god has given our enemy into our hands, the devastator of our land, who has caused the death of many of us.”
25 When they were feeling good, they said, “Send for Samson, so that he can provide amusement for us.” They summoned Samson from the prison, and he served as their entertainment.
They made Samson stand between the pillars. 26 He said to the young man who led him by his hand, “Put me where I can touch the pillars that support the building, so I can lean upon them.” 27 The building was full of men and women, as well as all the serens of the Philistines. On the roof were about three thousand more men and women watching Samson as he was amusing them.
28 Samson called out to the Lord. He said, “Lord God, remember me, I pray. Give me strength, I pray, this one more time, O God. Let me get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes in one act of vengeance.” 29 Samson then grasped the two central pillars supporting the building. He leaned against them, one with his right hand and one with his left. 30 Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines.” He pushed with all his strength, and the building fell upon the serens and upon all the people who were inside.
The Philistines he put to death when he died were more numerous than those he had put to death during his lifetime.
31 Then his brothers and his father’s entire household went down, carried him back, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the tomb of Manoah his father. He had served as judge of Israel for twenty years. — Judges 16 | Evangelical Heritage Version (EHV) The Holy Bible, Evangelical Heritage Version®, EHV®, © 2019 Wartburg Project, Inc. Sprinter
Real name: Meloni Thawne
Alias: Meloni Samson (false identity), Sprinter (alter-ego), Meli or Mel (Nickname by Don Allen and others), Traitorous Speedster (by Dawn Allen)
Species: Metahuman (speedster)
Family: Thaddeus Thawne (father), Eobard Thawne (ancestor), Don Allen (future husband), Bart Allen (future son)
Occupation: First daughter of the US (in 2061), Student at Keystone High School, Villainess (reluctantly), Member of the Future Rogues, Heroine
Affiliation: The Rogues, The Light, Thawne family (formerly), The Titans (currently)
Biography:
Not much is known for Meloni's past, but she is the daughter of President Thaddeus Thawne, and the descendant of Reverse Flash (Eobard Thawne), who is the sworn enemy of the Flash.
Knowing that a descendant of the Allen Family will be a threat in the future for the Thawnes, Thaddeus sent his daughter after she received the power of superspeed and time travel in the Speed force.
Although she is reluctant to be part of this feud, Meloni loved her father, and did not want to disappoint him. As planned, President Thawne ordered her to eliminate the Tornado Twins.
She travelled back to the year 2035, where she created the false identity of Meloni Samson to avoid suspicion. As such, she searched for the Allen Twins to proceed with the mission.
While roaming around Star City as a start, Meloni was almost crushed by a car thrown by Vengeance. Until Tornado Boy (Don Allen) saved her the last minute. Tornado Boy flirts with her and left to deal with Vengeance. Meloni identified the young Speedster as Don Allen.
After the mission in Vlatava, Meloni enrolled into Keystone High and became part of the debate team. Don immediately became attracted to her for her spunk and competitive attitude. And flirts with her once more. Much to Meloni's annoyance that her only focus was to finish the mission.
And to make things complicated, Meloni became very competitive towards Dawn Allen as both are geniuses and members of the debate team despite being in the same school. And the rivalry goes on. The two also competed to become the student body president, but Dawn won.
4 months since after enrollment, Don was failing in math for Junior year of High School. Meloni, out of pity, helps tutor Don in Math. Don tried to get ose to Meloni by getting her to talk about herself. But the more he was out of focus, the more Meloni became very angry and shouted at Don for being very ignorant and annoying.
Don, realizing how much he got on Meloni's nerves, apologized to him. And offered to treat her for ice cream. While Meloni is silent, Don talks about the grief his father, Barry had to go through for the loss of his nephew, Wally. Including for the fact that how jealous he was of his sister for being better than him.
This reminded Meloni of the times her father neglected her, and never looked at her the way Barry looked at his son. And the loss of her mother through an illness while her father simply moved on made her realized that she was living the life she never choose to have.
Meloni opened up to Don about her mother's death and her estrangement from her father, but not the real intention. Since then, the two had gotten closer, but when Dawn sees this, she was not pleased.
And Dawn would grew suspicious of Meloni being the mole of targeting her family for death. Robin (Damian Wayne) would also grew suspicious of the female speedster after going through some test of her fingerprints from a pencil Dawn had picked up from the floor.
Meloni, however, still proceed with the mission, not just to eliminate the Allens, but also every superhero that existed. She meets with Lena Luthor, and offers to help frame Lex Luthor for repeated crimes to place her as CEO of LexCorp, in exchange that Meloni gets help in eliminating the Flash and his allies. Lena agreed to the deal.
After Lena and Meloni successfully placed blame on Lex for another Metahuman Trafficking scheme, Lena was now promoted as the official CEO of LexCorp. Thanking Meloni for this, Lena offers her a job as an assistant in her industry.
In gratitude, Lena created a spandex for Meloni with the amplification of the the chronos radiation that will make her immune to the changes in the timelines. Since then, Meloni became a member of the Light and became the villainess known as Sprinter.
And would became the enemy of the Tornado Twins to thwart the missions of the Titans.
During the Battle against the HIVE, Tornado Boy battles Sprinter once more. Going on a one on one speed match. Only for Meloni's mask to be torn off. And Tornado Boy was shocked to see it was Meloni. Humiliated, Sprinter runs away before Tornado Boy gets his questions answered.
After the battle was won by the Titans. Don secretly meets Meloni after the revelation. When Don asked why she was doing this, Meloni confesses about her mission to wipe the Allen's out of existence. But she cannot bring herself to do it. And revealed her ancestor to be Reversed Flash.
Don, shocked, sympathizes with her as he hugged her. And forgave her for everything. Letting her know that he's there if she needed him. But this is the beginning of secrets that will broke the Titans apart.
Personality:
Because of her family history, Meloni was dutiful and intelligent with the interest of physics and time. Her studies are a way to cope with her father's neglect.
She displayed hatred towards the Allen's due to being influenced being a Thawne. It was only out of her genuine care for her father (despite the fact of how much he neglected her) since her mother passed away, to be loyal to her own family.
After traveling back in time for an assignment to rid the Allen family to prevent future threats. Meloni developed a fierce rivalry with Dawn Allen, and compete through every tests and debate trials. And can be a tease at times toward her.
As for Don Allen, everywhere she goes, he was there to shower her with affections, but got very annoyed of him. But used this as a chance to gain the trust of the Allens.
But the more she had gotten to know Don, the more Meloni questions of what family is supposed to be about. And became very reluctant to kill Don and develop feelings for him.

Judges 15: 1-6. "The Foxes."
Tumblr media
Samson chose a partner, a Philistine woman that was kind of a hobag. He gave her the benefit of the doubt, but she would not wait to attain to Shabbat before consecrating their marriage, a clear violation of Eden, and Samson threw her back into the pit.
Both partners have to be able to observe Shabbat, that is to forsake the works of wickedness before engaging in courtship. The Torah encourages freelancing at sexuality but once the Fourth Day is surpassed, one needs to be able to resist the call of the wild and submit wholeheartedly to the charms of the other.
The tract mentions the brides father gave Samson's bride to his companion after he rejects her. This means "283" to the Holiday to the Passover. A thing of the past, never to be known again.
Then our thirty men in linen transubstantiate down to three hundred foxes with fires on their tails. Then he stands the sheaves up and sacrifices the whole thing. These things occur in clusters. Adultery cannot be tolerated, promiscuity is all right, but it's not great.
The environment called the "barracks of horseplay*" in the Book of Joshua is everyone's fantasy, it can be lived by some, most are not able to prolong it. Those who do are not able to marry or be happy long term and society is not the better for it.
It is best to get away from those who teach horseplay as soon as one realizes the horse, not the man is on top. A man is always the premier vehicle of everything is made by God. Samson proves this by taking a goat (young, impressionable, hairy in an immature way) and some wheat (the Law) after the harvest to the people that wronged them to explain this. He was trying to do the right thing and has the higher ground and they must work out a proper atonement between them for the cuckolding of his wife.
God told us this was the right way to do it in Noach. Heaven has no place for men who cannot recognize their sins and atone for them before death. He even tells Noach not to worry about eating Kosher provided he learns to reckon:
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and took some of every clean animal and some of every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.  21 And when the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse[i] the ground because of man, for the intention of man's heart is evil from his youth. Neither will I ever again strike down every living creature as I have done.  22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.” 9 And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.  2 The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered.  3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.  4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.  5 And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.
Samson’s Vengeance on the Philistines
15  Later on, at the time of wheat harvest, Samson took a young goat and went to visit his wife. He said, “I’m going to my wife’s room.” But her father would not let him go in.
2 “I was so sure you hated her,” he said, “that I gave her to your companion. Isn’t her younger sister more attractive? Take her instead.”
3 Samson said to them, “This time I have a right to get even with the Philistines; I will really harm them.”
4 So he went out and caught three hundred foxes and tied them tail to tail in pairs. He then fastened a torch to every pair of tails,
5 lit the torches and let the foxes loose in the standing grain of the Philistines. He burned up the shocks and standing grain, together with the vineyards and olive groves.
6 When the Philistines asked, “Who did this?” they were told, “Samson, the Timnite’s son-in-law, because his wife was given to his companion.”
Can a Jew experience hate? Yes, if the one we hate is a Timnite, "one has not spent a day attaining to Shabbat", AKA someone who refuses to study the Torah but claims to know everything about it.
Recall our strategy was to avoid the sin of Onan and cross pollinate Jews with ladies of other cultures in order to spread an ethical way of life. In this case it didn't work the people of Palestine didn't want to give freedom from the trenches a try.
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 1:  Later on, at the time of wheat harvest. At The Time always means the transition from Day Zero to Day 1. One day the field is sitting there, doing its thing, the next day it is time to go to work and harvest. The Value in Gematria is 11556, יא‎ההו‎‎ , yea, "Do what is befitting."
v.2: I was so sure you hated her,” he said, “that I gave her to your companion. Isn’t her younger sister more attractive? Take her instead.” The Value in Gematria is 7890, ז‎ח‎טאֶפֶס, zahtapes, "it climbed." Samson's little goat stirred because he got a chance to start over. This is what happens on the Day After we decide to do what is right:
v. 3: This time I have a right to get even. The Value in Gematria is 6305, אנדגפסה, andagapsa "you have to be in moment to understand."
Without the dawn of reason, no matter how hard one tries the experience of the Jewish Self will not take place without passing the Bar first. This happens at Day 3.
Day Four, the Age of Reason is supposed to dawn next but not if one is being crowded by foxes. There are no foxes in the Torah so we don't know if they are Kosher or not:
v. 4:  So he went out and caught three hundred foxes and tied them tail to tail in pairs. He then fastened a torch to every pair of tails. There are two stages to sentience: the witness and the affect. Since the Torah mentions not a word about the affect of a fox, Samsons burns the tails off of every pair of foxes since he cannot as Parsha Noach says, make them accountable as with other dirty and clean pairs of animals.
This shows Samson was reasonable.
The Value in Gematria is 6332, וגגב, "a roof and tripe."
Day 5 is agriculture and taxonomy: How things fit together.
v. 5: He lit the torches and let the foxes loose in the standing grain of the Philistines. He burned up the shocks and standing grain, together with the vineyards and olive groves.
As it turns out the fox is all tripe, so instead of eating it he sacrificed it. A fox is clearly not a kind of goat when it is exposed on the roof where everyone can see it for what it is. The Value in Gematria is 8755, חזיה, "a bra instead of a vest. Not a man." = Does not acquire an Ephod.
v. 6: They were told. The Value in Gematria is 10047, קדז‎, cadiz, "In order to make it to 7...do not take a Jewish man's way of life from him, he will defend the right to get it back, and God will always be on his side.

Alma Chapter 25. The Stations Continue. Part 9: "The Outward Performance."
Tumblr media
Continuing our discussions of the Stations of Missionary Work:
Lamanite aggressions spread—The seed of the priests of Noah perish as Abinadi prophesied—Many Lamanites are converted and join the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi—They believe in Christ and keep the law of Moses. . About 90–77 B.C. ‎ז‎עז‎, zeaz, "The Girdle of the Strong."
Abinadi "the father of jewels" prophesied that the evil King Noah of the Book of Mormon "the downturn" would eventually die out and the birth of Christ would cause a revolution. This revolution, or upgrade is called Anti-Nephi-Lehi, the "Upgrade of the Wise Jawbone."
The jaw allows food to be chewed, and it's essential in speaking. And when one dominates the jaw of an animal (or human, for that matter), one dominates the whole animal.
The Jawbone is mentioned in the Book of Judges 15, and refers to the power of the Voice of Mashiach "global salvation" to repel ignorance:
15 Finding a fresh jawbone of a donkey, he grabbed it and struck down a thousand men.
16 Then Samson said,
“With a donkey’s jawbone     I have made donkeys of them.[a] With a donkey’s jawbone     I have killed a thousand men.”
17 When he finished speaking, he threw away the jawbone; and the place was called Ramath Lehi.[b]
1 And behold, now it came to pass that those Lamanites were more angry because they had slain their brethren; therefore they swore vengeance upon the Nephites; and they did no more attempt to slay the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi at that time.
2 But they took their armies and went over into the borders of the land of Zarahemla, and fell upon the people who were in the land of Ammonihah and destroyed them.
Ammonihah="Place where kinsman work together. Where people become useful to each other."
3 And after that, they had amany battles with the Nephites, in the which they were driven and slain.
4 And among the Lamanites who were slain were almost all the seed of Amulon and his brethren, who were the priests of Noah, and they were slain by the hands of the Nephites;
Amulon=Who are the pillars of trouble
5 And the remainder, having fled into the east wilderness, and having usurped the power and authority over the Lamanites, caused that many of the Lamanites should perish by fire because of their belief—
6 For many of them, after having suffered much loss and so many afflictions, began to be stirred up in remembrance of the words which Aaron and his brethren had preached to them in their land; therefore they began to disbelieve the traditions of their fathers, and to believe in the Lord, and that he gave great power unto the Nephites; and thus there were many of them converted in the wilderness.
7 And it came to pass that those rulers who were the remnant of the children of Amulon caused that they should be put to death, yea, all those that believed in these things.
Persons who stir up trouble for the rest of us do because their parents did it. And their parents did it before them. In order for "wicked traditions" like slavery, apartheid, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, fear of the poor to end the Book of Mormon an the Torah alike say the causes of all of these, slander, has to be stopped.
Neither text rules out the death penalty if that is what it is going to take. First, both scriptures say a propaganda campaign that counters the nonsense of the others, an Anti-Nephi-Lehi effort has to be tried. If this doesn't work, kill the bigots just like Samson did.
8 Now this martyrdom caused that many of their brethren should be stirred up to anger; and there began to be contention in the wilderness; and the Lamanites began to hunt the seed of Amulon and his brethren and began to slay them; and they fled into the east wilderness.
The East Wilderness is the unknown between the mind of the slanderous sissy and a planet where brave people act humane towards each other.
The Law, the Decrees within the Ten Commandments in fact insist we hunt down and kill all the slander in our hearts and the noise pollution it creates in society:
9 And behold they are hunted at this day by the Lamanites. Thus the words of Abinadi were brought to pass, which he said concerning the seed of the priests who caused that he should suffer death by fire.
10 For he said unto them: What ye shall do unto me shall be a type of things to come.
11 And now Abinadi was the first that suffered death by fire because of his belief in God; now this is what he meant, that many should suffer death by fire, according as he had suffered.
12 And he said unto the priests of Noah that their seed should cause many to be put to death, in the like manner as he was, and that they should be scattered abroad and slain, even as a sheep having no shepherd is driven and slain by wild beasts; and now behold, these words were verified, for they were driven by the Lamanites, and they were hunted, and they were smitten.
13 And it came to pass that when the Lamanites saw that they could not overpower the Nephites they returned again to their own land; and many of them came over to dwell in the land of Ishmael and the land of Nephi, and did join themselves to the people of God, who were the people of Anti-Nephi-Lehi.
14 And they did also bury their weapons of war, according as their brethren had, and they began to be a righteous people; and they did walk in the ways of the Lord, and did observe to keep his commandments and his statutes.
-> Death by fire is the death of slanderous speech because of Ishmael, "obedience to the law." Following the end of rebellious and nasty speech in the mind, all weapons of violence, verbal and otherwise need to be completely abandoned:
15 Yea, and they did keep the law of Moses; for it was expedient that they should keep the law of Moses as yet, for it was not all fulfilled. But notwithstanding the law of Moses, they did look forward to the coming of Christ, considering that the law of Moses was a type of his coming, and believing that they must keep those outward dperformances until the time that he should be revealed unto them.
16 Now they did not suppose that salvation came by the law of Moses; but the law of Moses did serve to strengthen their faith in Christ; and thus they did retain a hope through faith, unto eternal salvation, relying upon the spirit of prophecy, which spake of those things to come.
17 And now behold, Ammon, and Aaron, and Omner, and Himni, and their brethren did rejoice exceedingly, for the success which they had had among the Lamanites, seeing that the Lord had granted unto them according to their prayers, and that he had also verified his word unto them in every particular.
=
"The Laws of Moses are the revealers of the secrets of peace on earth and are as a candle to the wise who combat the utterances of ignorance."
Missionaries are supposed to be the outward performance of the candlelight of the law. They are supposed to bear it to the world and its essence of it light must be true. Calling people to God and abandon all weapons and prejudices has never made anyone popular but the Law says it must be done.

Sera Approval Guide
aka: how to minimise Sera disapproval when you’re a Solas-romancing, pro-mage, proud Dalish elfy elf
Credit for the info in this guide goes to the Dragon Age Wikis here, here and here.
Acceptable Losses (IMO) - Disapproval when I allied with the mages instead of conscripting them - Disapproval when I exiled the Wardens (no, I didn't just do this for the Solas approval but it CERTAINLY HELPED) - Disapproval when I let Celene die so I could support Briala at the Winter Palace - Disapproval when I allied with Abelas and the Sentinels
Haven First conversation (I thought it'd be bigger) "They're too busy to look up where the real questions are". - You think it should be easy. (Slightly Approves) "Sound good to you, all touched Lady Herald?" - We'll succeed. We have to. (Slightly Approves) - Sounds good to me. (Slightly Approves) - I only care about stopping it. (Slightly Approves)
Becoming Inquisitor When you're making a speech directly after becoming Inquisitor, Sera will approve if you say: - Because it's right. - Corypheus must be stopped. - Lead them to vengeance. She will disapprove if you say "an elf will stand for us all". Love that internalised racism, Sera.
Immediately After Reaching Skyhold Make sure to speak to Sera in Haven at least once after recruiting her. You will get disapproval if you recruit her and then don't speak to her until Skyhold. Do not leave Skyhold after reaching it before speaking to her either. What'd I step in? - Don't say "Andraste? Not an elven god?" (Slightly Disapproves if you do) - Ask "Do you believe or not?" - I need doubters like you. (Slightly Approves)
First Time Leaving and Returning to Skyhold Asking "why did you really join me?", she will reply "What do you mean? To help people." - Seems like there's more to it. (Slightly Approves)
Red Jenny Stashes and The Winter Palace Make sure to bring Sera to the Winter Palace with you. If you use the Halla statues to unlock the door to Celene's bedroom where a soldier is naked and tied up, then choose to leave him there after your conversation, Sera will Slightly Approve. You will also gain access to Red Jenny's Stashes. These WILL NOT show up as a blip when you use the search function. Sera must be in the party for them to appear. There are three in the Winter Palace - one in the Guest Wing Garden (in the room near where you eavesdrop on the nobles), one in the Servant's Quarters' Garden (south western most corner, near some embrium) and in the Lower Garden (behind the vine fence opposite the three Council members). Sera Approves for each stash you open.
Red Jenny Caches - Out In The World Again, these will not show up as a blip on the search function and you must have Sera in the party for them to appear. You can, however, access these before Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts. Finding each one nets you a Slightly Approves from Sera. Their locations can be found here
After the Winter Palace "Ugh, that place. Should have just thrown in some bees and slammed the doors." - Earwigs. That'd stop a ball. (Slightly Approves) - Their mistakes made it worse. (Approves)
After Here Lies the Abyss Sera disapproves if you exile the Wardens, but you gain that approval back if you allow Blackwall to stay. "Heard what went on in that Fade thing. What you think went on. Can't even start to believe that business." - A difficult time for everyone. (Slightly Approves) - All I know is we lost people. (Slightly Approves) "They're the good thing that means a bad thing is about to happen. Like in Denerim, when the Blight ended." - What do you remember?/What was the Blight like? (Approves)
The Verchiel March (Personal Quest) - Let her kill the noble or if you have the perk Nobility Knowledge, get him to serve the inquisition (Approves) After getting back to Skyhold, you'll get one of five opening lines. Respond with the option: - You're right/Unpredictable, but worth it. (Greatly Approves) "Right, what do you mean, because I am really not used to that ... acceptance thing you're doing right there." - I want us to be friends. (Slightly Approves)
After Verchiel - Speaking With Her Again - Do not say "you pretend that's moral?" (She slightly disapproves) After you say "I expected people from you" - Well, as long as it works. (Slightly Approves) After you say "do your pranks achieve much?" and she replies "It's inspiring. Even if it sometimes goes tits up and they take a hit back. You know, like Haven?" - That's actually a fair point. (Slightly Approves)
Pranks - unlocks at +35 approval, must have completed Verchiel March and spoken to the Warden in Crestwood. Accept doing the pranks, do all of them for maximum approval. - Anything to keep us inspired. (Slightly Approves)
After What Pride Had Wrought - Sera will disapprove if you drank from the Well. I never do because I tried it once and not only did Sera yell at me but Solas did too and it made me sad so I reloaded lmao - I always disagree with her when she says everything at the Temple was lies. This nets you disapproval and triggers the following: "You're the frigging Herald of Andraste! Every time you open your mouth, you'll sound like an idiot." - It wouldn't be the first time OR That hasn't stopped you. (Approves)
Wedding in Val Royeaux If you complete the Alliances: From The Heart war table mission with Josephine and attend the wedding in Val Royeaux, make sure to bring Sera, and when you're making a speech: - Spend your new wealth on joy. - Live life to the fullest/You've a duty to yourselves/Who cares what anyone thinks?. (Approves)
In The Field Completing the following quests in the Hinterlands will net you a Slightly Approves from Sera. (Solas also approves of some of them too, so take him with as well): - A Healing Hand (Redcliffe Village) - Agrarian Apostate - Hunger Pangs - In The Elements - Shallow Breaths If you've brought Sera with you to the Western Approach when you meet Erimond for the first time, telling him to let the Grey Wardens go will net you a Slightly Approves. You will get approval for killing the nugs in the Flooded Cave in Crestwood but at what cost? Don't kill the nugs. You'll make Cole sad. If you bring Sera with you to the Temple of Mythal (I don't recommend, because she will disapprove if you ally with the Sentinels), she does Slightly Approve if you destroy Samson's armor.
Sit In Judgement Avvar Tribesman (after The Fallow Mire) - Arm and banish him to Tevinter. (You get approval from everyone but Varric and Cassandra for this one - those two don't have any approval changes for this option) Alexius - He'll serve Redcliffe's mages. (Will net you disapproval with Sera, but approval from Solas, Iron Bull, Blackwall and Cole) - I want him researching magic. (Requires perk Arcane Knowledge) (Will net you disapproval from both Sera and Cassandra, but approval from Solas, Bull, Vivienne and Cole, and will open a War Table mission) - I'm executing him myself. (Will net you approval with Sera, Bull and Cole, but disapproval with Solas and Varric. Dorian will also be sad in some dialogue you can have with him afterwards) Servis (Western Approach) - Give him back to Corypheus. (Approval with Solas, Bull and Sera. Disapproval with Dorian, Blackwall, Varric and Cole.) - An informant. On probation. (Opens War Table mission) (Disapproval with Sera and Cole, approval with Solas, Bull, Blackwall and Vivienne) - I want him as a smuggler (Requires Underworld Knowledge perk) (Recruits him as an agent) (Disapproval with Cassandra, Sera and Cole, approval with Solas, Dorian, Bull and Varric) Mayor Dedrick (Crestwood) - I'll give him a clean death. (Nets approval with Bull, Sera and Cole but disapproval with Solas) - The best I can do is exile. (Disapproval from Bull, Sera and Cole but approval from Solas) - Ferelden can lock him up. (No reaction from Sera or Solas, disapproval from Cole, approval from Bull, Varric and Vivienne) Erimond (Adamant) - Give him to the Wardens (approval from Bull, Blackwall, Sera and Cole, disapproval from Solas) - Imprison him (Approval from Varric, Dorian, Vivienne, Blackwall and Sera, disapproval from Solas and Cole) - Execute him (Approval from Solas, Bull, Sera and Cole) (PICK THIS ONE) Ser Ruth (Adamant) - I won't judge a Warden (Approval from Sera and Blackwall, disapproval from Solas, Cassandra, Cole and Vivienne) - Go to the Deep Roads (Unlocks operation) (Approval from Sera, Cole and Varric, disapproval from Solas) - Public humiliation, then (Disapproval from Blackwall, Sera and Cole, approval from Solas and Vivienne) Florianne, Dead (Halamshiral) - Ha! Community service! (Gain an agent, unlock war table mission) (Disapproval from Cassandra and Cole, approval from Sera) Thom Rainier - You're free, if you atone (Higher approval from Sera) - The Wardens will decide (slightly lower approval from Sera) Mistress Poulin (Emprise du Lion) - You're free to go. (Approval from Solas, Blackwall, Varric and Cole, disapproval from Bull and Sera) - Put her to work. (Approval from everyone except Dorian and Vivienne) - Have her rebuild the town. (Approval from Varric, Sera and Vivienne, disapproval from Blackwall and Bull) Samson - Cullen will question you. (Only available if you completed Before The Dawn and chose "Maddox respected you" as a previous dialogue option) (Approval from Solas, Vivienne and Bull) - Let Kirkwall have you. (Approval from Sera and Varric)

Could you win a fight ?
I'm gonna list my characters and state whether or not you could win a fight against them. I'm gonna be fair and not give most of them "why would want to fight them ?" but rather use it seldom.
Adam - All it takes is one threatening flinch from and Seth would knock you out for Adam. If Seth's not there, you'd win in a heart beat, Adam is a very fragile person.
Advik - Yes. He'd be good at utilizing objects around him, otherwise, you would win.
Amber - Oh, a real fight ? Amber's only interested in virtual ones. She'd take you down in that matter.
Audrey - No, Audrey has mutated mold infused in her skin. It's mostly for healing, but if the time calls, she'd win.
Aurora - No, Aurora can shoot crystals out of her skin. RIP to whoever challenges her.
Avery - Yes. Avery has never done anything physical, ever, in her life.
Bran - Yes, but please don't fight Bran :-(
Brian - No. Brian has gotten in a lot of fights, and while he doesn't always start them, he always finishes them.
Celeste - Celeste doesn't like fighting, but was put up against a lot of challenges growing up, so she'd win a fight if it came to it. She'd apologize as well.
Chloe - Yes, she has too much hair for her own good and just get in her way.
Circe - No. She'll put up a small fight, but immediately back out if things look the slightest bit messy,
Cora - Absolutely not, her favorite weapon are her nails and isn't afraid to use them.
Crimson - No, but only due to her being over six feet tall and very strong. She's only really good at defensive moves.
Crystal - Yes. Imagine pushing someone on stilts. It's pretty easy.
Echo - Yes. Echo avoids violence at all costs and would quickly sell out if threatened.
Eve - Well, yes, but if you're picking a fight with Eve it better be worth it because one wrong hand on her will result in a punishment of banishment or even death.
Haramitsu - Probably not. Haramitsu gives off the impression she's helpless but will get messy if it in the least bit threatened. "Of course you would, but don't hurt me please."
Heidi - Yes. If someone hit her she'd just accept it at the moment then retaliate later with a smart vengeance.
Ian - Yes. He'd just fall over and say "ow, what'd ya do that for ?"
Ivar - No. Ivar's trained and will brag about his win. So it'll just be humiliating.
Jake - Maybe ? Jake isn't the strongest, but he's not one to give up quickly. He's got the resilience.
Katsumi - No. Kat knows her skill very well, and is very fast and a good kicker.
Lilith - Yes. She is super fragile and would quickly lose, unless she's got her trusty knife.
Matthew - Yes. Despite his stature, Matthew strength isn't enough to protect himself from someone that really tries to take him down.
Meghan - Yes. Meghan is all bark, she couldn't swing or take a hit whatsoever. She's not gonna tell anyone that, though.
Mike - Yes. But he's gonna try his best.
Morgan - No. Morgan lived their past five years with pirates. It hardened them a bit.
Nathan - Yes. Nathan's health has left him in a weak state, plus, he's not interested in a fight.
Naomi - No. She has weapons, heavy boots, and is looking for a fight.
Nora - Depends. Are weapons involved ? If so, you're out of luck.
Orisa - Yes. Orisa would never fight anyone, but if she had to, she'd get a few hits in, but just doesn't have the energy.
Riley - Yes. Riley would really have to hate someone to put all her strength into a fight.
Samson - Depends. Samson grew up doing a lot of sports, and still maintains his athletic lifestyle. He only fights for fun and against people similar to his ability. If you're weaker than him, he'll let you win .
Simon - No. Simon has some pent up anger and is looking for a fight to pick.
Skylar - No. He's gotten into plenty and will get into more.
Sean - No. He is literally designed to withstand anything, and some measly fists would be considered child's play.
Seth - No. He'd almost be offended that someone is challenging him.
Tatsuo - No. The guy can melt metal with his hands. Not to mention he's athletic and can move super fast.
Theo - Yes. Theo is so small and has no strength to take on any fight.
Trinity - Guess you gotta fight her to find out ;-) (the answer is no, but Trinity is looking for a fight so she's willing to drag it out for fun.)
Vivian - Maybe ? Vivian is actually physically active and has taken kickboxing classes. However, she's often wearing heels and if in that state, won't be able to fight back.
Whitney - Yes. She hates violence.
Zack - Yes. He's have the confidence of winning a fight due to him winning the ones he'd have against his little sister when they were kids, but be slapped into reality and find out he can't take a fight whatsoever.

Second part of this. Content: Emotional abuse mention, physical abuse mention, death mention
Years hardened the edges of Nicodemus, trimmed him down to a sharp and efficient thing that Samson kept close by. He was only alone in the dead of night when he used candlelight to read the books he found tossed aside. The old man was getting older, slowing down. Even so, the young man had seen him take down creatures the same way he had when he was younger. Just a touch more ferocious, a bit more unbound. The younger hunter walked slow behind Samson as they moved through the weeping willows, his brow slightly furrowed. His rifle rested across his sweat slicked forearms.
“Samson.”
“What is it, boy?”
Nicodemus’s jaw ticked. He was nearing twenty and still boy. He rubbed at his jaw as the old man turned to face him. He didn’t flinch as those coal dark eyes fell on him.
“What are we doin’?”
The old man’s eyes narrowed and his head cocked. He lowered his own gun by his side.
“We’re doin’ what we’ve always been doin’. Nothin’ more and nothin’ less. Why’re you questionin’ me?”
The younger man’s head ticked down as he looked at the ground and took in a deep breath. He had been thinking of this moment the second his boots touched the unkempt grass outside their front door. Since he had sat outside when the moon was up and simply listened to the night. Listened to the frog song and the wolf song but made no attempt to silence it. Since he had taken a look at the supposed good word and doubted it being just that.
He lifted his head.
“I--What we’re doin’ is bullshit, pa,” he said. “How’re you not tired of this day in and day out nonsense?”
Samson was in his face in a second, eyes bloodshot.
“How dare y--”
Nicodemus held up a finger.
“It was one, wasn’ it?” He said quietly. “One that killed my ma?”
“Get to your point quick, boy.”
The younger man took a step back.
“It was one and we been doin’ this since,” Nicodemus trailed as he looked off. “Too damn long, pa. Just the fuckin’ one and ain’t nothin’ changed. Just been doin’ the same shit over and over. Half the time, your demons are--”
Samson tried to grab at Nicodemus’s throat but the younger hunter was quicker. Enough pressure and the old man dropped his gun. More and his arm was pinned against his back. The old man tried to speak but anger trampled his words. He was older but Nicodemus was stronger.
“Your demons ain’t out here, pa,” Nicodemus said as he shook his head. “They ain’t been out here awhile. We’re goin’ home. It’s grandma’s birthday or did you forget that one?”
When they came upon the house, the smell of blood and wolf fur was fresh. Eva was dead, headless, and there sat a wolf, not a demon.
“Money counts the same even if it’s just one of you.”
They tried in vain to tail the wolf as they fled the home but grief and rage heavy, the two men were too slow and they returned back to their broken home.
Nicodemus was silent as he cleaned Eva’s blood from the floor. It was a matter of time, he thought, before it all came down to knock on their door. The next time he did, he wouldn’t be there. He could survive without Samson and whatever he did, whatever he hunted, he would do it for himself.
-----
Chlorine burned Nicodemus’s eyes as he opened them underwater. It burned his wounds too and he spat out water as he emerged. Red flowed around him and he hissed as he took in heavy, burning breaths. The woman was there still but she did not move to strike him again. Her image rippled as she crouched in the windowpane in front of him and looked at him with death-blackened eyes. His own burned back at her as his nails bit into the floor.
Death by a thousand cuts was what she seemed to be aiming for but he wouldn’t give it to her.
Not when Samson burned so brightly at the forefront of his thoughts. Not when the demon Samson claimed to be hunting was there all along and a seeming spirit of vengeance stared at him.
Nicodemus wasn’t finished yet.
Slowly, he swam over to the other side and pulled himself free of the pink water. Another cut along his back but then he was through the back door and into the solid dark of the night.
The hum of his mother’s song was alive in his head as he moved sluggishly through the dark and found a place to rest. To breathe. He was a killer and one day he would likely be killed but not right then.
Not until he dealt with his demons.

Samson Escapes Gaza
1 And Sampson went to Gaza, and saw there a harlot, and went in to her. 2 And it was reported to the Gazites, saying, Sampson is come hither: and they compassed him and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and they were quiet all the night, saying, Let us wait till the dawn appear, and we will slay him. 3 And Sampson slept till midnight, and rose up at midnight, and took hold of the doors of the gate of the city with the two posts, and lifted them up with the bar, and laid them on his shoulders, and he went up to the top of the mountain that is before Chebron, and laid them there.
Samson and Delilah
4 And it came to pass after this that he loved a woman in Alsorech, and her name was Dalida. 5 And the princess of the Philistines came up to her, and said to her, Beguile him, and see wherein his great strength is, and wherewith we shall prevail against him, and bind him to humble him; and we will give thee each eleven hundred pieces of silver. 6 And Dalida said to Sampson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein is thy great strength, and wherewith thou shalt be bound that thou mayest be humbled. 7 And Sampson said to her, If they bind me with seven moist cords that have not been spoiled, then shall I be weak and be as one of ordinary men. 8 And the princess of the Philistines brought to her seven moist cords that had not been spoiled, and she bound him with them. 9 And the liers in wait remained with her in the chamber; and she said to him, the Philistines are upon thee, Sampson: and he broke the cords as if any one should break a thread of tow when it has touched the fire, and his strength was not known.
10 And Dalida said to Sampson, Behold, thou hast cheated me, and told me lies; now then tell me wherewith thou shalt be bound. 11 And he said to her, If they should bind me fast with new ropes with which work has not been done, then shall I be weak, and shall be as another man. 12 And Dalida took new ropes, and bound him with them, and the liers in wait came out of the chamber, and she said, The Philistines are upon thee, Sampson: and he broke them off his arms like a thread.
13 And Dalida said to Sampson, Behold, thou hast deceived me, and told me lies; tell me, I intreat thee, wherewith thou mayest be bound: and he said to her, If thou shouldest weave the seven locks of my head with the web, and shouldest fasten them with the pin into the wall, then shall I be weak as another man. 14 And it came to pass when he was asleep, that Dalida took the seven locks of his head, and wove them with the web, and fastened them with the pin into the wall, and she said, The Philistines are upon thee, Sampson: and he awoke out of his sleep, and carried away the pin of the web out of the wall.
Delilah Learns the Secret
15 And Dalida said to Sampson, How sayest thou, I love thee, when thy heart is not with me? this third time thou hast deceived me, and hast not told me wherein is thy great strength. 16 And it came to pass as she pressed him sore with her words continually, and straitened him, that his spirit failed almost to death. 17 Then he told her all his heart, and said to her, A razor has not come upon my head, because I have been a holy one of God from my mother's womb; if then I should be shaven, my strength will depart from me, and I shall be weak, and I shall be as all other men.
18 And Dalida saw that he told her all his heart, and she sent and called the princess of the Philistines, saying, Come up yet this once; for he has told me all his heart. And the chiefs of the Philistines went up to her, and brought the money in their hands. 19 And Dalida made Sampson sleep upon her knees; and she called a man, and he shaved the seven locks of his head, and she began to humble him, and his strength departed from him. 20 And Dalida said, The Philistines are upon thee, Sampson: and he awoke out of his sleep and said, I will go out as at former times, and shake myself; and he knew not that the Lord was departed from him. 21 And the Philistines took him, and put out his eyes, and brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with fetters of brass; and he ground in the prison-house. 22 And the hair of his head began to grow as before it was shaven.
Samson’s Vengeance and Death
23 And the chiefs of the Philistines met to offer a great sacrifice to their god Dagon, and to make merry; and they said, God has given into our hand our enemy Sampson.
24 And the people saw him, and sang praises to their god; for our god, said they, has delivered into our hand our enemy, who wasted our land, and who multiplied our slain.
25 And when their heart was merry, then they said, Call Sampson out of the prison-house, and let him play before us: and they called Sampson out of the prison-house, and he played before them; and they smote him with the palms of their hands, and set him between the pillars. 26 And Sampson said to the young man that held his hand, Suffer me to feel the pillars on which the house rests, and I will stay myself upon them. 27 And the house was full of men and woman, and there were all the chiefs of the Philistines, and on the roof were about three thousand men and woman looking at the sports of Sampson.
28 And Sampson wept before the Lord, and said, O Lord, my lord, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, O God, yet this once, and I will requite one recompense to the Philistines for my two eyes. 29 And Sampson took hold of the two pillars of the house on which the house stood, and leaned on them, and laid hold of one with his right hand, and the other with his left. 30 And Sampson said, Let my wife perish with the Philistines: and he bowed himself mightily; and the house fell upon the princes, and upon all the people that were in it: and the dead whom Sampson slew in his death were more than those whom he slew in his life. 31 And his brethren and his father's house went down, and they took him; and they went up and buried him between Saraa and Esthaol in the sepulchre of his father Manoe; and he judged Israel twenty years. — Judges 16 | Brenton's Septuagint Translation (BST) Brenton’s Septuagint Translation of the Holy Bible, 1884. If You Were a Deity, What Would Be Your Domain?
(Fana/Maddox) Wisdom and Knowledge
You are the divine guardian of truths both knowable and unknowable, of all words and languages spoken and unspoken. Much like Death itself, you are perhaps one of the least understood of all deities, and yet the secrets you hold are highly sought after by scientists, philosophers, and theologians alike. The origin of all innovation, your realm is the source of crucial advances in architecture, agriculture, political governance, and military strategy which have allowed many civilizations to become a dominant force in the mortal realm. Your domain may also include the forces of magic and mysticism, and many cautionary tales exist among mortals of those who have unwittingly destroyed themselves or lost their minds in the reckless pursuit of mysteries and technology far beyond their comprehension. Your mythological equivalents are Greece’s Athena, Egypt’s Thoth, Mesopotamia’s Enki, and India’s Ganesha.
(Samson)  Warfare and the Forge
You are the divine patron of battle, conflict, and the weapons forged to fight them. You are quick to temper and obstinate in disposition, and you also govern heroic attributes such as strength, courage, and honor. Due to your domain’s ability to bring widespread death and suffering, much of the mortal realm often looks upon you with fear and disdain. However, you also give life to transformative and regenerative forces such as revolution and rebellion, and your innovative forge has birthed vital technologies of science, beauty and prosperity alongside its spears and armor. Mortals look to you for bravery and prowess in battle as well as skilled craftsmanship, and your mythological equivalents are Greece’s Ares and Hephaestus, Scandinavia’s Odin, Egypt’s Sobek, and Mesoamerica’s Huītzilōpōchtli.
(Lennie)  Nature and the Hunt
You are the divine parentage of the earth and the wilds, as well as the ancient art of the hunt. Your verdant forests, vast grasslands, and lush jungles are a source of wonder and sustenance for the skilled tracker, but conversely a place of fear and doom for the lost and unprepared. Many mortals revere you as a nurturing mother figure or a generous provider of protection and prosperity; however, you are equally capable of unleashing vengeance, famine, and destruction unto those who drink too deeply and greedily of your plentiful gifts. Hunters, gatherers, and herbalists look to you for guidance in the wilds, and your mythological equivalents are Greece’s Gaia and Artemis, Scandinavia’s Skaði, Eurasia’s Devana and the Iroquois’ Sky-Woman.

Additional Readings for the Eager...and or, those with the Saga-Fever!
As we dig into the wonderfully fantastic saga that is Eyrbyggja Saga, I wanted to give readers the opportunity to look at discussions in Old Norse Scholarship that have buzzed with the themes and topics brought up by this saga! Politics, Gender, Magic, Law, the Restless Undead, Religion-Belief, and the construction of a saga itself! Below this cut you’ll find a regularly updated haphazard Bibliography separated into sections.
Those entries with an * (asterisk) present are free and accessible online–I will be happy to send you a pdf of every other article/chapter if I have it, just DM me the particular article you want at @cousinnick and I will do my best to send it to you. If you have any suggestions to add to the list, I’d be happy to look into them!

Dragon Age 2!
the character i least understand
Orsino, though I suppose that’s mostly with the shoddy excuse for a heel face turn as an excuse for another Boss fight. Or could have used a better set up for it and more than just one little bit of pre-ending information outside of that one quest.
Though knowing how rushed the game was, I can understand why the build up wasn’t bigger.
interactions i enjoyed the most
Pretty much all interactions with Carver, especially as a fem!Hawke as someone with a younger brother and a past relationship that was very close to theirs, they rang very true to home, the good and the bad parts.
Also any interaction where you get to let your followers/friends know how much you mean to them.
the character who scares me the most
Definitely Vengeance, knowing Justice is Awakening and the physical embodiment of just how easily Justice can turn to Vengence is something that unsettles the soul a bit.
the character who is mostly like me
Tbh, Hawke. Which can be a bit of a given with the PC, but as with the relationship with Carver, just the way Hawke as a character was written was very much in line with my own history (fantasy element not included) and base character outside of dialog choices
hottest looks character
Fenris, hands down. I don’t usually go for the white haired anime looking ones, but they really went all out on his character design and I still see it as one of the best designs of gaming.
one thing i dislike about my fave character
That I didn’t have more time with Carver: love my grumpy little brother who loves me so much and doesn’t always know how to say it (not like Hawke is any better lol).
one thing i like about my hated character
I loved Meredith’s voice so much, I played Skyrim first so was familiar with her VA and was excited to hear it again for some reason. Also hearkening back to Vengence/Justice, knowing just how her background and grief and anger and the red lyrium twisted her into the person she was at the end, I enjoyed how her arc played out.
Also just her whole vibe delighted me.
a quote or scene that haunts me
Walking into the Chantry to “meet” with Saemus Dumar and realising he’s dead. Just the image of him upright, the music, the way he slumps, the way he was good and and gentle and just never had a chance.
Pretty much everything about Seamus still makes me sad and haunts me to this day.
a death that left me indifferent
Keeper Marethari. Why was she even there? I mean I know she was there, but still.
a character i wish died but didn’t
Maybe Samson? Knowing what can happen with him in Inquistion, that could happen anyway.
my ship that never sailed
Seamus/Ashaad. Also Seamus/Life.

man, looking back at my 11th grade film program, the only good things I got out of it were 1. advanced film editing skill, 2. learning to stand up for myself and stand my ground (because a few of the other guys would try stealing time on the computer terminals from me), and 3. all the mid-80s anime I discovered through Youtube playlists of their OP/EDs that I would play while videos rendered. Meanwhile, they made us watch this horrible sordid documentary that ended with baby death, and fucking Annie Hall. Kids, if anyone ever makes you watch a Woody Allen film, tell me and I will claw my way to their location Brock Samson-style in vengeance
