Striker and Django of the Dead have a lot in common!
If I had a nickel for every time a cowboy meets the protagonist...
Befriends and competes with him...
Betrays him...
Tries to convince the protagonist to join him...
And in the end, fights the protagonist and swears revenge.
I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but, it's weird that it happend twice, right?

Parallels between Maya and the Three and El Tigre
As most of fans know,Jorge Gutierrez has confirmed that all of his works take place in the same universe. So it comes to no surprise when the audience notices recurring characters or motives, and El Tigre with Maya and the Three are no exception. Thanks to design sheets mainly found by @screenshoteltigre we can see what connects these two shows.
Giant-monster-skeleton-thingy
Let’s start with El Tigre concept art(above),which depicts a skeleton giant similar to the one Sartana summoned in the 18th episode(as it was commented by @fly-chicken under one of my posts;pic below).Although it’s not certain whenever the design is final or if they’re even the same monster, but considering that bones are mostly associated with Sartana of the Dead,it is safe to say that the creature is connected to her. Now,here’s the Maya and the Three concept art featuring a bone monster Mictlan summoned during the final battle against the main characters(mentioned by @lunaislandcitizen under one of my posts):
Looks familiar ?
This might hit at Santana’s relation to Mictlan, since she is the daughter of Xibalba and La Muerte.
Mictlan and …Mikla?
Here we have an antagonist that never made into El Tigre series due to it’s cancellation by Nickelodeon.Right off the bat we can notice the name similarity to the certain god of war,as well as Miklas ability to raise the “forgotten dead” with his skeleton hand, something that Mictlan did at the last fight against all kindoms.
Also, there is another concept art of Mikla where he seemingly transformed into giant serpent monster, something that Mictlan had also done:
Now,it is very possible that Jorge Gutierrez took certain characteristics from this character and applied them to Mictlan, taking into account the time period between El Tigre and Maya and the Three. But if not, then we might have another follower of Mictlan that decided to take revenge on the reincarnations of Maya and Zatz.
That’s all for now.Feel free to write your thoughts in the comments!

I wasn't expecting to have to fight HER in the arcade mode. Especially on my first run.
Just for further clarification, this game will not hesitate to beat the snot out of you if you goof. Just trust me on this.
This fight has been a long, long time coming!
Get these hands, Squidward!
Seriously, this fight will NOT be easy if you go in there half assed.

Xibalba hears of his brother miclah murdering his own wife, and then time passes and Xibalba ends up losing his favorite daughter sartana (not fatally, but still) because of her love interest puma loco. Everyone keeping up with the Mexopolis lore knows very well that Puma Loco is going to be fucked when he dies, but this just adds on a whole new level to Xibalba's wrath...
IT REALLY DOES 😭😭😭😭
Someone give this trash lord a hug dammit

I recently watched El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera and please, just hear me out.
Django looks like he's La Muerte and Striker's son! He's a skeleton and is from Mexico like La Muerte, and he's also a cowboy just like Striker! Even the clothes he wears are very similar to Striker's and his color palette is similar to both La Muerte and Striker.
He also plays the guitar, a shared taste that he has with both La Muerte and Striker. La Muerte appreciates music for being a festive goddess of El Día de los Muertos (that and she supported Manolo being a musician in the Book of Life) and Striker himself plays the guitar and composes his songs.
Also... Django is a name that I'm 100% sure Striker would give his son and La Muerte wouldn't mind leaving that name to her son if that's what her lover chose.
I know that Django is the son of El Machete, the grandson of Sartana and consequently makes him the great-grandson of La Muerte and Xibalba. Just let me have the opportunity to have to relate Helluva Boss, The Book of Life and El Tigre in some way along with Striker and La Muerte that I love them very much <3

thoughts on the skeletons from coco?
wrote some of my thoughts on skeletons from coco here!
one character i do like and i dont feel weird about liking is xibalba from book of life, that old man is sooo good. la muerte isn't exactly a skeleton? which is sO unfortunate. I should do a redesign
and actually now that i remember them i am reminded of sartana of the dead, from el tigre, she's got BOOBS lmao
in this case coco skeletons are superior because they make intelligent use of their skeleton bodies to fit their clothes a certain way. the female skeleton lips are a problem tho lol
there's their eyes too but those don't bother me, i think theyre fun. besides it cant be pixar without the creepy realistic eyes
still think frida looked super cute
MAN there's death from adventure time too. gotta draw him some time. metalhead boyfriend

For the fandom meme: 001 & El Tigre?
001 | Send me a fandom and I will tell you my:
• Favorite character: Rodolfo Rivera and Diego Chipotle Jr.! (Also for some reason I just really like Che x))
• Least Favorite character: Trio of heroes from "Crouching Tigre, Hidden Dragon" (I don't remember their names)
• 5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Rodolfo/Maria, Diego/Frida, Sergio/Frida, Che/Frida (For some reason I just like the concept of a bunch of guys falling in love with Frida. One-sided mostly) and Diego/Zoe is an interesting pair.
• Character I find most attractive: Rodolfo
• Character I would marry: idk
• Character I would be best friends with: Rodolfo??
• a random thought: I want to know more about dead Riveras
• An unpopular opinion: about relation between ET, TBOL and MaTT: I don't like the concept of reincarnations. It's just kinda weird.
• My Canon OTP: Rodolfo/Maria
• My Non-canon OTP: well, Che/Frida? Not actually an OTP, but...
• Most Badass Character: Almost all characters :D
• Most Epic Villain: Sartana
• Pairing I am not a fan of: idk honestly
• Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): well, not screwed up, but I wish we knew about Diego's creation more. Like, what happened to his creator? Also, I'd like some angst about Diego's thoughts about family and all. We know that he cloned himself to create father and grandfather from words of Jorge, but it would be cool to see this in the show.
• Favourite Friendship: Manny and Frida (but sometimes Frida's decisions about their friendship make me angry)
• Character I most identify with: Rodolfo?? x)
• Character I wish I could be: I don't know x))

Sartana of the dead Is Xibalba's and La Muerte's banished daughter (sartana killed her sister, that's why she got banned)
Sweet Jesus, Cinematic Mexopoverse!
And yes I believe you about the film and show being connected, checked on the wiki right after you said that!
