on a weird note - i always see criticisms of soulslikes not having a pause button including the statement "i don't want to lose an hour+ of progress on a game because there's no pause button"

but like that is not how souls games... work? the whole thing is that you're supposed to respawn constantly. Literally only Demon Souls & Dark Souls 1 - Two games from 15+ years ago when the studio was still relatively smaller & nowhere near as well known (yes, they had kingsfield. yes, they'd been around 20 years. but it wasn't like they were catering to a massive worldwide audience like with Elden Ring) - have issues with savespaces being somewhat far apart, but even then for DS1 there's all kinds of shortcuts and inbuilt level design to cut down on how long each boss run is.

I just don't understand this criticism because it's fundamentally something that doesn't even happen in Souls games? Boss runs can take, like, ten minutes at most for the worst ones in DS1. You're more screwed from losing the souls or runes you have gathered from stationary grinding than you are losing progress in terms of movement. IDK, I can see the point of a pause button, but maybe you should, like, try to play the game to understand what you're actually criticizing there? This just is not a problem in DS3 or Elden Ring from how frequent bonfires & sites of grace are in those games.

Series of events that just happened at choir practice:

-sit down in alto first bc we havent started yet and my friend is in alto

-walk over to soprano after starting and wanna sit down

Here you have to know that i am 6'1, currently have a very short blonde undercut and am wearing a baggy hoodie

-new girl looks at me and asks very surprised "soprano??"

-i say yes and also say hi to everyone

-new girl starts saying "oh you're..." but then stops herself, shes still a bit confused i think

-i get a warm fuzzy feeling bc im confusing people again 😌

-we sing a few songs and then at the start of the break she turns to me and asks "do you know the 'name of the queer positive/savespace group at our uni'

-i say yes and she asks if im part of that group to which i say no bc im not

-she very quickly says oh and now seems even more confused

-girl at this point just ask me if im gay

Ich war jetzt 2 mal, da und habe mehr gelernt als gedacht. Ich bin wirklich überrascht. Jetzt stelle ich mir auch eine richtige Therapie evtl auch angenehmer vor. Das zweite Treffen war lockerer entspannter. Ich konnte mich mehr einbringen und habe realisiert was es eigentlich bringt mal solch einen Savespace zu haben und sich dort mit Personen auseinander zu setzen die ähnlich sind wie man selbst. Sowas findet man selten und sollte man mit Respekt begegnen. Es ist eine extreme Hilfe aber keine Lösung. Das Problem ist immer noch in mir. Das muss mir bewusst sein. Ich kann nicht alles beeinflussen. Ich bin nicht in der Lage alles zu machen, auch wenn ich es mir denke. Du bist erst Herr deiner Lage wenn du dich selbst spürst.

Oh well here we go

🌈is there a fic that you worked *really fucking hard on* that no one would ever know? maybe a scene/theme you struggled with.

Well, not a fanfic, but my superhero book(s) I wrote for a bit on wattpad really gave me a struggle, I wanted so badly to have the characters interact with eachother, but nobody but me knew their storys and so it felt weird just meh. I also didn't want to just dumb their storys as they are worth more than that, soo I just kinda quit and haven't written a chapter since, didn't have any readers anyways.

🍉in what ways has writing helped you process trauma and/or navigate through your own life?

I mostly give my characters unspecified trauma or somthing and then let them cry getting support from another character, basically giving me a backhanded hug through the characters ._.

💎why is writing important to you?

The ability to spin elaborate storys on the spot helped me alot through my life to this point, fooling my parents into allowing me stuff all my friends were allowed to, but I wasn't because of them.

I also use it to protect myself and my loved ones a lot in different circumstances, and writing actuall storys out of fun instead of making up one for protection is a fun apin on it, lets me explore levels of absurdity my normal storys can't as they have to be believable

☯️how do you think engaging with each other through tumblr, twitter, comments, kudos, creates healthy fandom experiences? How do you deal with that if you're not a social person/experience social anxiety?

It creates a save supportive space to grow and find people who share similar interests, finding people that may transform into friends that you couldn't have found without having the fandom

for people like me with extreme social anxiety it's very nice to not have to leave my savespace (aka room) to interact with people, I have meet more nice new people on here than in the last year
