Despite de Schepper's best efforts (and chances), Gastao ended up dominating the play through the net. That way, he nailed the important moments of the match, by opening the gate before he ended up breaking in such crucial parts of the match. For the second set, it allowed him to serve for the match (successfully), while it gave him the slight edge before he consolidated the lead back in the first set, thus the 50% conversion rate out of his 4 chances to de Schepper's 0.

On the other hand, Gastao's smooth serving helped him to strengthen his position. Scoring one more ace than de Schepper (3 to 2), Gastao nailed his first serves by 14%, standing out with a 86% winning percentage than de Schepper's 72%. Somehow, even though Gastao double-faulted thrice, de Schepper's second serves appeared to be vulnerable by only winning 50% of the points from there, 13% lesser than Gastao throughout both sets. A close contest ended with the most significant points on return in closing the rally, for sure.

In the second round tomorrow (local time), Gastao will face third seed Cem Ilkel, who fought through thick and thin to defeat Sebastian Fanselow 6-3, 3-6, 7-5. Knowing both players, this could be an interesting battle to see, especially considering Ilkel's offensive ability, as well as Gastao's intensity, should things go smooth, where both their pacing and aggression became one of the most important aspects of attention in the clash. Liebe Deine Analysen! Ich bin relativ neu im Fandom und gestern nach DUDW habe ich das erste mal Die Beste Show gesehen und war so geschockt, wie sehr Joko von Klaas runtergemacht wurde. Man hat schon gemerkt, dass es für die Show ist, aber hatte Klaas damals echt so die krasse Vorgabe Joko fertig zu machen oder war da auch bisschen privater Beef bei? Nachdem ich das gesehen habe, kann ich absolut verstehen, dass Joko irgendwann keinen Bock mehr auf das Konzept hatte, er tat mir in vielen Momenten so leid. 🥲 Da gefällt mir die heutige Dynamik viel besser. Erstmal vielen, lieben Dank und schön, dass du den Weg in dieses Fandom gefunden hast!

Deine Frage zur Besten Show finde ich sehr spannend, weil das eine Show ist, die mich auch nach mehrmaligem Schauen immer noch sehr fesselt und begeistert. (Und die uns DEN Tanz geschenkt hat, wofür ich ihr auf ewig dankbar sein werde, auch wenn ich nie nicht schreien kann bei dem Gedanken 💜)

Ich kann deine Reaktion auf jeden Fall sehr gut nachvollziehen und selbstverständlich ist dein Empfinden da total legitim 🫶 (mich würde auch sehr interessieren, welche Folge es war, die du geschaut hast). Gerade, wenn man so vertraut ist mit der Art, wie offen soft und herzlich JK heute miteinander sind, ist der Kontrast manchmal echt drastisch zu sehen. Meiner Ansicht nach ist das offen dabei aber ganz entscheidend.

Zu früheren JK-Zeiten war es ja das große Erfolgsrezept, die beiden als ewige Rivalen zu inszenieren und in verschiedenen Formaten gegeneinander antreten zu lassen. Das haben sowohl ihre unterschiedlichen Charaktere, die man jeweils sehr gut auf die Spitze treiben konnte, als auch ihr irrsinniger Ehrgeiz wunderbar hergegeben.

"Es geht nicht ums Gewinnen, es geht darum, den anderen verlieren zu sehen."

Die Beste Show reiht sich für mich da mit ein, wenngleich hier der Wettkampf eher das Gerüst stellt und die geballte Ladung Ideenreichtum den Umbau.

Und dennoch gab es immer schon Momente, in denen man als Zuschauer:in erkennen konnte, dass das Hass- bzw. Konkurrenz-Prinzip zwischen den beiden eben genau das war: ein Prinzip für groß aufgezogenes, schlau justiertes, gut funktionierendes Entertainment.

Als Erstes fällt mir da die Nepal-MAZ, als absoluter DUDW-Klassiker, ein. Die war von vorne bis hinten ein solcher Moment. Joko, der Klaas auf sehr harmlose, witzige Weise verarscht. Klaas, der hochgradig genervt ist und sich beim Abziehen des Tuchs und Joko-und-das-Team-Entdecken trotzdem so gar nicht das Grinsen verkneifen kann. Die Art, wie Klaas Jokos Honig-Trip begleitet, so sehr lacht und bei ihm ist - es ist jedes Mal aufs Neue soft.

Das war 2015.

Die Beste Show gab es ab 2016.

Ich bin sehr fest davon überzeugt, dass Klaas zwar seine Rolle als Jokos Kontrahent (genau wie andersherum) hatte, allerdings nie extra die Vorgabe bekommen hat, Joko fertig zu machen. Sich gegenseitig nicht die Butter auf dem Brot zu gönnen, wie man so schön sagt 😅, und die Grenzen des jeweils anderen maximal auszureizen war eben das, was dazugehört hat. Und es mag sein, dass Klaas das im Studio teilweise mehr verlautbart hat, ich würde aber behaupten, dass Joko ihm da im Grunde in nichts nachstand. Stichwort: Stuhlkippen in Neuseeland, um ein Beispiel zu nennen.

Aber es ist natürlich völlig okay, das anders wahrzunehmen.

In diesem Artikel werden JK gefragt, ob es denn auch schon mal "schepper[e]" zwischen ihnen und Klaas stellt sofort die Unterscheidung zwischen Fernsehen, wo es das durchaus tue, und privat heraus. "Ganz selten" antwortet Joko und das ist auch die Vorstellung, die ich immer hatte.

Klar, sind Auseinandersetzungen, auch mal heftigeren Ausmaßes, unvermeidbar, wenn man vielfach unterschiedlich tickt und ständig aufeinander hockt. Aber ich schätze, zwischen den beiden privat waren diese meist eher produktiv und ganz offenbar auch wirklich überhaupt nicht an der Tagesordnung, wie man vielleicht vermuten würde.

Im Podcast Kino oder Couch hat Joko mal erzählt: "Ich kannte Streitgespräche immer nur auf einer persönlichen Ebene. Klaas kann sachliche Streitgespräche führ'n, die einfach nur um den Inhalt gehen und [...] die das Ziel vor Augen [haben], das beste Ergebnis zu erzielen. Das hab' ich total gelernt von dem."

Das gibt einen Einblick, der ihre "Behind-the-scenes-Kommunikation", wie ich finde, sehr deutlich als eben das beschreibt: Kommunikation. Die immer irgendwohin führt.

Eingestellt wurde die Beste Show, meines Wissens nach, aufgrund des enormen Arbeitsaufwands, die das Konzept mit sich gebracht hat. Die Kulissen, die Promi-Buchung, die Proben, die Suche nach Kandidat:innen, die Planung, die Aufzeichnungen usw. - ich möchte mir gar nicht ausmalen, wie viele Stunden darin insgesamt stecken. Dass sowohl das kreative, als auch das zeitliche Pensum wahnsinnig schwer waren, aufrechtzuerhalten, zumal es anfangs ja noch CHG gab, irgendwann dann LNB und Jokos neue Show-Starts, leuchtet mir absolut ein. Darüber hinaus überschneiden sich die Teams hinter all den Shows an mehreren Stellen ja auch, wodurch viele dann eine Menge gleichzeitig stemmen mussten.

Persönliche Differenzen waren da kein Grund, glaube ich.

Und huch, jetzt ist das irgendwie lang geworden 😅

"Da gefällt mir die heutige Dynamik viel besser" - das, Anon, verstehe ich zu tausend Prozent!

Der rote Faden der Konkurrenz ist mit der Zeit immer blasser geworden, allein dadurch, dass sie mit JKvsP7 ganz bewusst selbst damit gebrochen haben. (Liebe das auch, wie gut man mit den Staffeln verfolgen kann, wie sie enger und enger zusammenwachsen.)

Und heute sind wir an einem Punkt, an dem sie bei DUDW regelmäßig vergessen, dass sie ja gegeneinander spielen und nicht miteinander 😌 An dem sie keinen einzigen Zweifel mehr daran lassen, wie gern sie sich haben.

Mary of Austria (15 September 1505 – 18 October 1558), also known as Mary of Hungary, was Queen of Hungary and Bohemia as the wife of King Louis II, and was later governor of the Habsburg Netherlands.

The daughter of Queen Joanna and King Philip I of Castile, Mary married King Louis II of Hungary and Bohemia in 1515. Their marriage was happy but short and childless. Upon her husband's death following the Battle of Mohács in 1526, Queen Mary governed Hungary as regent in the name of the new king, her brother, Ferdinand I.

Following the death of their aunt Margaret in 1530, Mary was asked by her eldest brother, Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor, to assume the governance of the Netherlands and guardianship over their nieces, Dorothea and Christina of Denmark. As governor of the Netherlands, Mary faced riots and a difficult relationship with the Emperor. Throughout her tenure she continuously attempted to ensure peace between the Emperor and the King of France. Although she never enjoyed governing and asked for permission to resign several times, the Queen succeeded in creating a unity between the provinces, securing for them a measure of independence from both France and the Holy Roman Empire[1] as well as in creating of a permanent navy for Netherlands alongside Maximilian of Burgundy and Cornelis de Schepper. A Cursed Kingdom is forced to fight in it’s dying days against a powerful Warlord and his armies. Nearby, deep in the expansive woods lies a vicious army that could help them, but the Werewolf Queen demands a sacrifice: an alliance between their two kingdoms that could never be broken.

This will be a dark fantasy with a lesbian romance, which is the focus of the story. Also has a plot. Features a cursed kingdom, werewolves, magic, dragons, and a war in a darkly atmospheric world.

THIS WIP IS NEW. It's very new, like I am world building so there is nothing written yet, but it's consumed me for the past few weeks so I am very active about the world building.

Gastao turned out to appear more solid in the second set despite K. de Schepper's best ability to hang in and take the chance. After the French veteran held his service game to 1-0, Gastao finished the long rally with a drop shot for his additional touch before he held his service game 1-1. He even recovered from a one-point deficit several points later with a shot winner in response to de Schepper's smash, ended up holding that service game 2-2.

It took four consecutive holds before his net game started to make some damage, just like how he concluded the first set. Here, Gastao caught up with the two-point deficit with a working volley, one of which outhit de Schepper to his forehand side, before he ended up breaking the same way (5-4). This allowed him to serve for the match, where despite several hiccups, he successfully pulled it off with also a working volley to make it double 6-4, hence he advanced to the next round.
