I’m usually a fantasy girly, but lately I’ve been really obsessed with sci-fi esque fashion (especially starwars). But more so textured fabric and top stitched detail rather than hardware and long draped clothing if you get what I mean? I really want to sew like a neat vest or something. Only problem is I’m really not well versed in any kind of sci-fi media, so if anyone knows of any good starwars/other sci-fi costume resources, please please share!!! I’d love to even get a book or something!

Is based on an archival cyborg suit from Thierry Mugler’s fall/winter 1995 couture collection:

This particular catsuit is known as the “Machinenmensch,” or Machine Human, and was designed over the course of six months in tandem with longtime Mugler collaborator and artist, Jean-Jacques Urcun. The pair were inspired by the fictional character Futura from Thea von Harbou’s dystopian novel Metropolis.
