Second death…
Rev 2:11 [WEB] 11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. He who overcomes won’t be harmed by the second death. Rev 20:6 [WEB] 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over these, the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him one thousand years. Rev 20:14, 15 [WEB] 14 Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 If anyone was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire. Rev 21:8 [WEB] 8 But for the cowardly, unbelieving, sinners, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their part is in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
Caught up…
1Thess 4:17 [WEB] 17 then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air. So we will be with the Lord forever.

The second death
They say six months is when the second death occurs.
In the process of grieving you end up at the six month period, and everything intensifies. From multiple experiences, I can say this was true whether I realized it or not at the time. When I've grieved deaths, when I've grieved life changes, the six month mark is hell.
At six months, you are no longer living in the shadow of old routines. You have established new routines and you have eliminated parts of your life. You no longer need that person or that old part of your life in order to function. It is both freeing, and at the same time traumatizing to realize that you no longer rely on someone or something that your world revolved around. It doesn't matter if it's a lost parent, or an ex, or a job that meant a lot to you. You no longer need that to function in your day to day life. And that's fine. It no longer shatters you to know that everything has changed.
And that knowledge that you are no longer shattered by the fact that everything has changed? That is what breaks you. That is the second death.
For the first six months you can tell yourself all sorts of lies. It's especially interesting when it's someone who's died. "They can come back still." No they can't, they've been cremated. "Why is the house empty?" Because they're dead and buried. "Well what if I called their phone?" It hasn't been charged in months who the hell do you think you're trying to talk to? A ghost?
But there's a beautiful freedom in some second deaths. A realization that your world does not revolve around your old circumstance? A realization that you no longer are trudging through each day just hoping to survive? A realization that your actions are changed because you have changed them?
For once, the second death is beautiful to me. I like it.

I hate to break it to you, but one day we are all going to die, but here’s something you may not of thought of before.
When you come into this world, your SOUL is united with your BODY and after living a (hopefully long life) one day your body will die and at that point your soul will then be separated from your body. This physical death is what the Bible calls 'The First Death,' but the question is - what THEN happens to your SOUL?
The Bible teaches at death that your soul will go one of two places. If you are “in Christ” it will go directly to be with God, and you will not die again or face condemnation. However if you are NOT in Christ, your soul will be separated from God and you will wait in hell until the end of time, and at that point will be judged for your sins and faced a self-imposed condemnation where you will go into “..the Lake of Fire.” This is the SECOND DEATH - the death of your soul - but a death that will never end and continue for all eternity.
Wow!! That message is really brutal! ... and YES it is, and perhaps the most harsh word I have ever written, but before you get angry at me, THIS IS WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS, but here is the GOOD NEWS and the Truth!
You have been offered an acquittal - a full pardon for everything you’ve ever done wrong or evil in your life. There is no reason why you or anyone should experience a 'Second Death!' It is entirely up to you to believe or NOT BELIEVE what the Bible says, so if you have read this far, here is the conclusion of the matter.
Either: A) You will believe God’s offer of forgiveness, believe what His Word says in the Bible about avoiding this second death and take His offer of deliverance from this Second Death -or- B)You will come to your own conclusion that this is some stupid, superstitious, imaginary religious fairy tale not worth your consideration.
It is going to be one or another, but either way it is YOUR CHOICE.
Friend, THIS IS SERIOUS. You really do have a soul that will live forever, and YOU have a CHOICE how many DEATHS you believe you’ll have.
WILL IT BE ONE DEATH OR TWO?
God Bless Your Day, Jesus Loves You

Is there Hope for the Dead? What does the Scriptures Teaches
Is there Hope for the Dead? What does the Scriptures Teaches
For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under…

What is the second death? All sinners’s soul destroyed along with Satan and his angels. So the Lord will undone his beloved creations to the nothingness, and no second chance in the lake of fire. How can I be saved by Jesus Christ? I have full of regrets because I have sinned against heaven. Please pray for my salvation! Thank you very much!
The second death is only for those who DO NOT overcome Satan’s grip on them. Revelation 2:12 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death. Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years.
Sorry late reply! I used to have many regrets but the LORD eventually let me know my regrets will stop guilt-tripping me as long as I remember to turn them over to God (again) and repent/confess if I have to. And eventually the memories stopped just resurfacing and distracting me. But I’m not perfect so sometimes I’ll have new regrets here and there and the beauty of my relationship with God is it’s a cycle that reminds me this is all a process that I just have to trust God with.
Your regrets, they must be repented again and again to the LORD. Please don’t take this the wrong way....once you repent of your sins genuinley, He handles your sin right away. Sins leave us regretting especially if they are not confessed, and the sooner the better, but regret in itself is a sin as well. It’s a sign of worry and fear and God commands us not to. Confess Jesus is your Savior and Redeemer, and say His name plenty of times in your prayers because there is power in it. If your past mistakes ever haunt you again, it means go back to God and take your time to worship Him and also thank Him for that time because it’s got your attention on Him. Focusing on your past and regrets is Satan’s way of keeping your eyes on him. Whenever that happens, remember to turn your eyes on God and praise Him, declaring that He is more powerful and mightier and that He is greater than any of your sins because His Son has already paid that debt for you.
Through this remembrance, accept Jesus intentionally and wholly into your heart again, submitting yourself to Him and seek to turn away from your disobedience and fear the LORD instead. Believe with all your heart that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one goes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).....because when you identify with His death, your old self dies as well and as He was resurrected to be with the Father so are you. Believe and trust in His might. Nothing can separate you from the love of God. When you do not fear HIM enough, you will fear many other things. I’m praying your soul is brought to peace as you acknowledge that He has been guiding you this whole time and He will never stop. How do I know? He loves all His children. His children are persevering, hopeful, and desperate for change. Lay it all at His feet, your salvation comes through confessing Jesus is LORD of your heart and soul. Let your mouth speak this to every ounce of your being.
By His Grace, Sheela (via godfirstgodalways)
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
Romans 10:9-10 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

5 and 23 for weird questions
5: if you were a type of tree, what would you be?
birch! they're one of my fave types of tree
23: what is one fear unique to you?
this one's a bit hard.. but. not actually dying. but my 2nd death. there's a very old saying that goes something like "a person has two deaths, once when their heart stops, and again the last time someone ever says their name." so i fear my 2nd death, because i worry about what happens to the soul once that happens
