trump is going to ruin traditional avenues of information, and democratic media is going further right-wing, so it will never be as important as it is now to pay attention.
waiting for friends, creators, sabotaged departments, or corporate algorithms to keep you updated isn't enough. follow reporters (ie Prem Thakker, Ryan Grim, Jason Leopold). follow advocates and local leaders. stay informed through independent left-leaning news (Majority Report, Drop Site News, Democracy Now!, Some More News, In These Times).
join/follow your local chapter of the DSA or PSL. look up mutual aid. go to the library. attend community events. research local elections. vote in them. attend town halls. be ready to rally for the 2028 strike.
protect your privacy. organize securely over something like signal (push notifs off). get a good VPN like mullvad or firefox, not nord or express. don't give your data to things like period tracking apps.
and no cutting people off without very good reason. we can't afford not being patient and charitable.

PAC: 🍁
School started for me and starbies just came out with their seasonal fall flavors so even though I am a victim of broke college student fevar I went to starbs bc whats $15 when yr already in a fuck ton of debt. So I went to starbs with my roomie to get some PSLs. But while we were there one of the baristas was just losing their absolute fucking mind at another barista who was just trying to help these young highschoolers not be late. Like???? Screaming at her not to touch anything and she can’t fucking jump the line my heart literally broke. If I had any money like fucking dollar bills I would have given them to her. Like so fucking awful. But honestly so many people are under appreciated. I literally spend my life taking care of people who claim that. “They only think of others, and they never put themselves first, or I am JUST SUCH A CARE TAKER.” But when push comes to shove they’re no where to be found. A READING FOR MY UNDER APPRECIATED MOTHER FUCKERS SO YOU KNOW HOW LOVED AND VALUED YOU AREEEE.

You are putting something off in so you can help others. Something is being delayed. You are intentionally abstaining from something which in turn is causing you to spiral. Maybe your ass is working the rush shift everyday and your coworkers are assholes and you cannot bare to leave that anxious toxic ass mess. However, you owe it to yourself to find a better environment. People don’t leave because the security of which is offered but are you actually secure or are you comfortable in your mistreatment?
find people who will do better and will work with you and match your energy.
Futility 🪒
Moon 3. In Aquarius, Netzach in Air, seven of swords
The seventh suit. A notably unlucky suit. You have been backed into a corner and you need to get your way out. Now this isn’t a gun fight its a fight of wits. You need to use your cleverness to escape. Honestly, maybe a toxic friend or person you know led you down a dark path? Maybe you got love bombed so hard and led with the promise of love and compromise you fell so hard and breaking every bone on the way down. Be safe. Get out of there

Fortitude (Reversed) 🫁
Daughter of the Flaming Sword, Teth, Serpent
Damn bitch you gave so much of yourself you became ill and have been weakened SEVERELY. You are also getting resentful which is hard. Like you said you were this strong ass bitch who could do anything. So you did everything and now you have egg on your face. Some athletes get trained so hard and so extreme they die. You’ve been giving so much mentally and emotionally you weakened yourself. You wouldn’t workout till death why would you give so much till failure?

However, an off putting aspect is there may be part of the code thats got a bug, which makes your hopeful manifestations plagued by illusions. Live in the moment. Be confident of nature and your gut. Somethings may not be clear now but day by day and little by little you will find out more and more.

Don't get it twisted my friends, all clubs love the Quadrennial Club World Cup

MY THOUGHTS Look at the money in this tournament, results based. ARTICLE Mamelodi Sundowns’ Club World Cup prize money passes R200 million mark Story by Garrin Lambley Mamelodi Sundowns’ confirmed prize money banked at this year’s FIFA Club World Cup has passed the R200 million mark – after just ONE match played! FIFA has revamped the tournament, increased the tournament to 32 teams – and coughed up $1 billion to be split between the sides competing. By securing their places, Al Ahly of Egypt, Esperance of Tunisia, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco are each guaranteed $9.55 million (R171 million) in appearance fees – before a ball is kicked. But that’s not all! Every win in the group phase will be worth $2 million (R35.8 million) and a draw $1 million (R17.9 million) so there’ll be incentive to play – and win – no matter whether it’s a ‘dead rubber’ or not. Mamelodi Sundowns have been drawn in Group F alongside German team Borussia Dortmund, Brazil outfit Fluminense and South Korean side Ulsan HD. Masandawana got their group stage campaign off to the perfect start on Tuesday, beating Uslan HD 1-0 thanks to a goal by Iqraam Rayners. That means at this stage Mamelodi Sundowns have banked $9.55 million (R171 million) in appearance fees and $2 million (R35.8 million) for their opening match win, giving them a total of R206.8 million. More money to come? A top-two finish and qualification for the knockout phase will be worth an extra $7.5 million (R134 million) to those 16 teams. Should Mamelodi Sundowns finish top of Group F, they will face the runner-up in Group E. Group E comprises River Plate from Argentina, Italy’s Inter Milan, Monterrey from Mexico and Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds. If Mamelodi Sundowns finish second in Group F, they will face the winner of Group E. Should Masandawana successfully navigate their way into the quarter-finals, that will be worth another $13.125 million (R235 million). A spot in the semi-finals would be worth an additional $21 million (R376 million). The tournament’s runner-up will receive $30 million (R537 million) while the overall winner will walk way $40 million (R716.5 million) richer. … That is PROPER money and will ensure Mamelodi Sundowns get richer and the gap between the Tshwane giants and the rest of the PSL teams just widens even further. It’s also sure to leave Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates green with envy. The next FIFA Club World Cup is due to be held in 2029. URL https://www.msn.com/en-za/sports/football/mamelodi-sundowns-club-world-cup-prize-money-passes-r200-million-mark/ar-AA1GWcy5?ocid=BingNewsSerp ARTICLE EXCERPT $9.55 million (R171 million) in appearance fees alone is the equivalent of Mamelodi Sundowns winning nine league titles in South Africa, the African country with the richest football prize money. How to Get the Best Electric Vehicle Loan Interest Rate in India
With the rise of sustainable mobility, more Indians are opting for electric vehicles (EVs) over traditional petrol or diesel cars. From compact e-scooters to high-performance electric SUVs, EVs are becoming mainstream. However, while the long-term savings on fuel and maintenance are significant, the upfront cost of an EV can be steep. That’s where financing options come into play—and getting a competitive Electric Vehicle Loan Interest Rate is key to making your EV purchase affordable.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through actionable steps to secure the best interest rate on your EV loan in India.
1. Understand What Influences Electric Vehicle Loan Interest Rates
Before applying for a loan, it’s important to know the factors that affect the Electric Vehicle Loan Interest Rate offered by banks or NBFCs:
Credit Score (CIBIL): A score of 750+ is ideal for getting low-interest offers.
Income and Employment Stability: Higher and steady income means lower credit risk for lenders.
Loan Amount & Tenure: Shorter loan durations typically attract lower rates.
Lender Type: Government banks, private banks, and NBFCs offer varying rates.
Type of Vehicle: EVs under priority sector lending or government schemes may have special rates.
2. Compare Offers from Multiple Lenders
One of the most effective ways to find the best Electric Vehicle Loan Interest Rate is to shop around. Compare loan products from:
Public sector banks like SBI, Bank of Baroda
Private banks like HDFC, ICICI, Axis Bank
NBFCs like Tata Capital, Hero FinCorp, Bajaj Finserv
Manufacturer-backed finance like Tata Motors Finance, Ather Finance
Use online aggregators or visit the lender websites directly to compare interest rates, processing fees, prepayment charges, and hidden costs.
3. Leverage Government Schemes and Subsidies
The Government of India, under initiatives like FAME II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles), offers subsidies that indirectly reduce the total loan burden. Additionally, some states like Delhi, Maharashtra, and Gujarat offer extra benefits on EV purchases.
Also, loans for electric vehicles are now included under Priority Sector Lending (PSL) by the RBI. This move encourages banks to offer lower Electric Vehicle Loan Interest Rates and flexible terms to promote green mobility.
4. Negotiate Based on Your Credit Profile
If you have a high credit score and a stable income, use it to your advantage. Don’t hesitate to negotiate with the lender for a better interest rate. Even a 0.5% reduction in your loan rate can save you thousands over the repayment period.
Ask the bank if they offer any rate concessions for:
Existing customers
Government or PSU employees
Women borrowers
Salaried professionals with income above a certain threshold
5. Choose the Right Loan Tenure
While longer tenures reduce your monthly EMI, they also increase the total interest paid. If you can afford higher EMIs, opt for a shorter tenure to reduce the effective interest burden.
For example, a 3-year loan at 9% will cost you much less in interest than a 5-year loan at the same rate.
6. Consider Pre-Approved or Pre-Qualified Loan Offers
Banks and fintech platforms often provide pre-approved offers with lower interest rates for existing customers. These offers are faster to process and may include discounts on documentation and processing fees.
Check your internet banking or mobile app dashboard to see if any pre-qualified EV loan offers are available.
Final Thoughts
As electric vehicles gain popularity, financial institutions are becoming more competitive in offering attractive loan terms. By comparing lenders, leveraging your credit profile, and staying updated on government incentives, you can secure the most favorable Electric Vehicle Loan Interest Rate in India. Making an informed financing decision not only reduces your cost of ownership but also makes your transition to eco-friendly transport financially smart and sustainable.

Taxpayer-Funded Riots: Here's What We Found When We Followed the Money in Los Angeles

When ICE conducted raids Friday morning at multiple locations in downtown Los Angeles, violent protesters impeded their work at both the staging location at a Home Depot in Paramount and outside the targeted business in downtown. Things might have stayed somewhat contained but for the involvement of two powerful and high-profile leftist community "leaders."
One of those people, SEIU California President David Huerta, was arrested for interfering with federal officers after he got in the way of ICE officers. After his arrest, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Rep. Gil Cisneros, and other Democrat elected officials decried the action.
Then Angelica Salas, Executive Director of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (CHIRLA) held a press conference calling for broad demonstrations against ICE, and tensions and violence escalated from there.
Hundreds of "protesters" turned into thousands of rioters before long, complete with matching t-shirts and professionally printed signs, signaling the involvement of organizations with some degree of funding behind them.
As Data Republican found, CHIRLA and the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSLWEB) are two of the NGOs implicated in this ongoing riot.
CHIRLA and their friends at the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) are well-funded, and well-connected, and have been astroturfing protests against Donald Trump and his belief in upholding our country’s immigration laws for a decade now. I first encountered them outside the Luxe Hotel on July 10, 2015, when they organized a protest against Donald Trump when he spoke to the conservative Friends of Abe group just after announcing his candidacy. But guess whose YouTube channel has video from the event?
Yep, the Party for Socialism and Liberation.
Attorney Laura Powell looked into CHIRLA's funding and made some startling findings. Yes, there's government money going into the org; that's not startling. What is startling is the amount. According to a financial audit submitted to the State of California, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, CHIRLA took in $34 million from various government contracts, and 96 percent of the government funding was from the State of California. That amount is nearly three times the prior year's government contract total. CHIRLA's total revenue for the year ending June 30, 2023, was $45 million, meaning that 75.5 percent of its revenue came from government contracts.

Agencies contributing to CHIRLA’s funding during this period included the California Department of Social Services, the California Arts Council, the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Yes, the Department of Homeland Security. Mayor Bass secured that contract for CHIRLA from her old pal (and Beverly Hills High School grad) Alejandro Mayorkas. Powell wrote:
For her part, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has defiantly opposed federal immigration enforcement in the city, stating on social media Friday, “We will not stand for this” and “No vamos a permitir estas acciones,” (“We are not going to permit these actions”). She added that her office would collaborate with community-based organizations that serve immigrants. She has a long relationship with CHIRLA and bragged last year about obtaining federal funding for CHIRLA’s programs. That grant is part of a broader stream of public dollars that the organization receives from government sources.
In announcing that $450,000 federal grant, on August 30, 2024, Bass said:
“The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, Clínica Romero, and the Central American Resource Center have been on the frontlines providing assistance to new immigrant arrivals in our city. I want to thank Secretary Mayorkas and the Department of Homeland Security for their partnership and for providing these organizations in the L.A. region with support to provide life-saving assistance.”
(There was $100,000 remaining on the grant when Donald Trump again took office. DHS froze the funding, CHIRLA sued, then DHS canceled the contract and the lawsuit was dropped.)
What were they doing with that money? Well, their efforts are centered in their newly-opened "Immigrant Welcome and Empowerment Center" in downtown Los Angeles, which Bass toured in May 2024.
— Jennifer Van Laar (@jenvanlaar) June 8, 2025
According to their website, their core leadership development activities are:
Wise Up! (youth leadership development program mentoring high school students in 15 Los Angeles schools).
California Dream Network (mobilize college students in 30 California colleges and universities around immigration reform; boasts 5,000 veteran leaders).
Contamos Contigo Census Campaign
Disaster Assistance for Immigrants (to distribute COVID-19 aid)
Organizing low-wage workers, including day laborers, street vendors, and domestic workers who do not reap the benefits of labor laws.
LA Raids Rapid Response Network (focuses on advocacy, direct action to shut down detention centers, and connecting immigrants facing detention and deportation to legal representation).
Basically, our taxpayer dollars are going to train high school and college students in how to break immigration law and become Marxist agitators, to ensure illegal aliens are counted in the U.S. Census, to organize illegal aliens already in the country, and to fund their legal representation against deportation.
And that's just in their leadership development section. They also have a filmmaking section, an affiliate organization in Mexico, the CHIRLA Action Fund (through which they can endorse political candidates), and more.
Powell concludes her X post by saying:
"To sum up how this works: Your tax dollars fund an organization that organizes efforts to directly interfere with the federal government’s lawful exercise of authority. Then, through its lobbying arm, that organization helps get Democrats elected to office, who then repay the favor by ensuring increased funding."
Case in point: Karen Bass.
You can read CHIRLA Action Fund's 2024 voter guide here; there won't be any surprises.
This is just the beginning of our investigation into CHIRLA and PSL's involvement in the ongoing riots; we'll publish those results as we go.
Editor's Note: President Trump isn't going to allow lawlessness to reign in America. We will not have a repeat of 2020's "Summer of Love."

Highest Run-Scorers in PSL History and Their Key Innings
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has rapidly established itself as one of the most competitive T20 leagues in the world. While the tournament is known for its high-quality bowling, several batters have managed to shine brightly by consistently piling on the runs season after season. These top scorers haven’t just accumulated numbers — they've played memorable, match-winning knocks that helped define seasons and built legacies.
Let’s take a look at the highest run-scorers in PSL history and revisit some of their key innings that left a lasting impact.
1. Babar Azam – The Run Machine
When you talk about consistency and elegance, Babar Azam stands at the top. He has been the most prolific scorer in PSL history, not just for his volume of runs but for the way he scores them. Whether it was for Karachi Kings or later for Peshawar Zalmi, Babar's batting has been all about control, timing, and composure.
One of his most memorable innings came in the 2020 final, where his unbeaten 63 anchored Karachi Kings to their maiden title. It wasn’t a blistering knock by T20 standards, but it was a classic Babar performance — calm under pressure, running hard, and punishing bad balls with precision. He’s not the loudest batter, but he’s often the most dependable.
2. Fakhar Zaman – The Explosive Opener
Fakhar Zaman has been the heartbeat of Lahore Qalandars' batting for several seasons. Unlike Babar, Fakhar’s style is all about aggression and flair. He likes to take on the bowlers from the word go, and when he gets going, he’s nearly impossible to stop.
His unforgettable century against Karachi Kings in the 2022 season — a stunning 106 off just 60 balls — was the perfect example of his dominance. Chasing a competitive total, Fakhar set the tone early, dismantling the bowling attack and carrying Lahore to victory. That innings showcased everything he’s about: fearless intent, boundary-hitting ability, and a hunger to finish games.
3. Shoaib Malik – The Veteran Finisher
Shoaib Malik may not bat at the top, but he’s been one of the most valuable batters in PSL history, thanks to his experience and ability to perform under pressure. Playing for different franchises over the years, Malik has quietly accumulated runs and remained a reliable middle-order force.
One standout performance was his 65* off 36 balls for Peshawar Zalmi in a tight chase. Coming in with the team under pressure, he rotated the strike, picked his moments, and guided the chase with calm authority. Malik’s game awareness and finishing skills have made him one of the most bankable names in PSL history.

4. Mohammad Rizwan – The Consistent Performer
Rizwan’s rise in T20 cricket has mirrored his success in the PSL, particularly after becoming captain of Multan Sultans. He combines grit with elegance and has made chasing totals look effortless. His ability to anchor innings while maintaining a decent strike rate makes him a key asset at the top of the order.
One of his key innings came in the 2021 season, where he scored a composed 82 under pressure, setting up a platform that helped Multan secure a vital win en route to their title triumph. Rizwan’s leadership combined with his batting consistency makes him a double threat in the league.
5. Kamran Akmal – The Early PSL Trailblazer
Kamran Akmal was among the first true stars of the PSL with his aggressive batting at the top of the order for Peshawar Zalmi. At his peak, he could take the game away in the first six overs.
His century in the 2018 eliminator — 107 off 61 balls — was a standout knock that helped Peshawar reach the final. It was classic Kamran: fearless shots, clean hitting, and total domination. While his form may have dipped in later seasons, his contributions in the early years laid the foundation for Zalmi’s success.
Final Thoughts
These top run-scorers in PSL history have done more than just amass runs — they've shaped the outcomes of seasons, lifted their teams in crucial moments, and kept fans on the edge of their seats. Whether it’s Babar’s elegance, Fakhar’s aggression, or Rizwan’s reliability, each batter has carved out a distinct identity. In a league known for its fast bowlers, these batters have proven time and again that quality batting still wins games.

Playoff Predictions Based on Current Form in the PSL 2025
As the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 enters its crucial final stretch, the playoff picture is beginning to take shape. With most teams having played a significant portion of their league matches, trends have emerged, and the form guide is providing some strong indicators as to who might advance to the final four.
Though nothing is certain in the unpredictable world of T20 cricket, let’s take a closer look at the teams and analyze their playoff chances based on current form, momentum, and performances so far.
1. Quetta Gladiators – Strongest Contenders
Quetta Gladiators have emerged as the most consistent and dominant team in PSL 2025 so far. Their explosive batting lineup, led by Rilee Rossouw and Jason Roy, has been dismantling bowling attacks for fun. But it’s not just their batting — their bowlers have chipped in with regular breakthroughs and controlled the death overs well.
Quetta currently sits at the top of the points table, and with their balanced squad and winning momentum, they seem destined not only for the playoffs but perhaps even a direct entry into the final via Qualifier 1. Unless there’s an unexpected collapse, they look like a lock for the top two.
2. Islamabad United – Peaking at the Right Time
Islamabad United have had a few hiccups along the way, but they’ve found form when it matters most. With five wins under their belt and a positive net run rate, they’ve shown that their lineup is capable of handling pressure. The leadership of Shadab Khan has been calm and effective, and the team has discovered several match-winners, particularly in their middle order.
United’s recent performances suggest they are hitting peak form as the league progresses. If they maintain this trajectory, they should comfortably make it into the top four, with a realistic chance of finishing in the top two.
3. Karachi Kings – Steady but Not Flashy
Karachi Kings have gone under the radar this season. They aren’t blowing teams away with dominance, but they’re getting the job done. Their combination of experienced campaigners and young talent has been working well. Their bowlers have kept them in games even when their batters didn’t fully capitalize.
With five wins so far and a decent net run rate, Karachi looks well-placed to secure a playoff berth. They may not enter as favorites, but their ability to grind out results makes them a dangerous side come the knockout stage.
Also Read:- MUL vs PES Dream11 Prediction PSL 2025
4. Lahore Qalandars – Fighting for Consistency
Lahore Qalandars have shown flashes of brilliance this season, but inconsistency continues to haunt them. On days when their bowlers fire — especially Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf — they look like world-beaters. However, their batting has been hit-or-miss, with too much dependence on individual efforts.
With four wins to their name and a superior net run rate compared to some rivals, Lahore still has a fighting chance. If they win their remaining matches and fix their middle-order issues, they can squeeze into the top four. But it won’t be easy — every match ahead is a virtual knockout.
5. Peshawar Zalmi – In the Danger Zone
Peshawar Zalmi have been inconsistent and unpredictable. While they’ve pulled off a couple of impressive wins, they’ve also lost games they should’ve won. Their bowling attack lacks bite, and their batting is overly reliant on top-order contributions.
With only a few wins and a slightly negative net run rate, Zalmi’s playoff hopes are hanging by a thread. They’ll need to win nearly all their remaining fixtures and hope for favorable results elsewhere to keep their campaign alive.
6. Multan Sultans – All but Out
Multan Sultans, surprisingly, find themselves at the bottom of the table. Despite having a few talented players, their inability to perform under pressure has been their downfall. With just a solitary win and a poor net run rate, they’re virtually out of the playoff race.
Even if they win all their remaining games, it might not be enough. For Multan, this season has been a lesson in missed opportunities and inconsistency.
Final Prediction
If current form holds, the likely playoff contenders are Quetta Gladiators, Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, and Lahore Qalandars. Quetta and Islamabad are favorites for the top two spots, giving them two shots at making the final. But as always in T20 cricket, one great performance — or one poor game — can change everything. The battle for the playoffs is heating up, and the drama is far from over.

EMR Studio Features Requirements and Limits AWS

Amazon EMR Studio features, specs, and limitations:
Amazon EMR Studio describes an IDE for data preparation and visualisation, departmental collaboration, and application debugging. When utilising EMR Studio, consider tool usage, cluster demands, known issues, feature constraints, service limits, and regional availability.
Features of Amazon EMR Studio
Service Catalogue lets administrators connect EMR Studio to cluster templates. This lets users create Amazon EC2 EMR clusters for workspaces. Administrators can grant or deny Studio users access to cluster templates.
The Amazon EMR service role is needed to define access permissions to Amazon S3 notebook files or AWS Secrets Manager secrets because session policies do not allow them.
Multiple EMR Studios can control access to EMR clusters in different VPCs.
Use the AWS CLI to configure Amazon EMR on EKS clusters. Connect these clusters to Workspaces via a controlled API in Studio to run notebook jobs.
Amazon EMR and EMR Studio use trusted identity propagation, which has extra considerations. IAM Identity Centre and trusted identity propagation are required for EMR Studio to connect to EMR clusters that use it.
To secure Amazon EMR off-console applications, application hosting domains list their apps in the Public Suffix List (PSL). Examples are emrappui-prod.us-east-1.amazonaws.com, emrnotebooks-prod.us-east-1.amazonaws.com, and emrstudio-prod.us-east-1.amazonaws.com. For sensitive cookies in the default domain name, a __Host- prefix can prevent CSRF and add security.
EMR Studio Workspaces and Persistent UI endpoints use FIPS 140-certified cryptographic modules for encryption-in-transit, making the service suitable for regulated workloads.
Amazon EMR Studio requirements and compatibility
EMR Studio supports Amazon EMR Software versions 5.32.0 and 6.2.0.
EMR clusters using IAM Identity Centre with trusted identity propagation must use it.
Before setting up a Studio, disable browser proxy control applications like FoxyProxy or SwitchyOmega. Active proxies can cause Studio creation network failures.
Amazon EMR Studio restrictions and issues
EMR Studio does not support Python magic commands %alias, %alias_magic, %automagic, %macro, %%js, and %%javascript. Changing KERNEL_USERNAME or proxy_user using %env or %set_env or %configure is not supported.
Amazon EMR on EKS clusters does not support SparkMagic commands in EMR Studio.
All multi-line Scala statements in notebook cells must end with a period except the last.
Amazon EMR kernels on EKS clusters may timeout and fail to start. Should this happen, restart the kernel and close and reopen the notebook file. The Restart kernel operation requires restarting the Workspace, and EMR on EKS clusters may not work.
If a workspace is not connected to a cluster, starting a notebook and choosing a kernel fails. Choose a kernel and attach the workspace to run code, but ignore this error.
With Amazon EMR 6.2.0 security, the Workspace interface may be blank. For security-configured EMRFS S3 authorisation or data encryption, choose a different supported version. Troubleshooting EMR on EC2 tasks may disable on-cluster Spark UI connectivity. Run %%info in a new cell to regenerate these links.
5.32.0, 5.33.0, 6.2.0, and 6.3.0 Amazon EMR primary nodes do not have idle kernels cleaned away by Jupyter Enterprise Gateway. This may drain resources and crash long-running clusters. A script in the sources configures idle kernel cleanup for certain versions.
If the auto-termination policy is enabled on Amazon EMR versions 5.32.0, 5.33.0, 6.2.0, or 6.3.0, a cluster with an active Python3 kernel may be designated as inactive and terminated since it does not submit a Spark task. Amazon EMR 6.4.0 or later is recommended for Python3 kernel auto-termination.
Displaying a Spark DataFrame using %%display may truncate wide tables. Create a scrollable view by right-clicking the output and selecting Create New View for Output.
If you interrupt a running cell in a Spark-based kernel (PySpark, Spark, SparkR), the Spark task stays running. The on-cluster Spark UI is needed to end the job.
EMR Studio Workspaces as the root user in an AWS account causes a 403: Forbidden error because Jupyter Enterprise Gateway settings disallow root user access. Instead of root, employ alternate authentication methods for normal activities.
EMR Studio does not support Amazon EMR features:
connecting to and running tasks on Kerberos-secured clusters.
multi-node clusters.
AWS Graviton2-based EC2 clusters for EMR 6.x releases below 6.9.0 and 5.x releases below 5.36.1.
A studio utilising trusted identity propagation cannot provide these features:
Building EMR clusters without templates using serverless applications.
Amazon EMR launches on EKS clusters.
Use a runtime role.
Supporting SQL Explorer or Workspace collaboration.
Limited Amazon EMR Studio Service
Service Restriction The sources list EMR Studio service limits:
EMR Studios:
Each AWS account can have 100 max.
Maximum five subnets per EMR Studio.
IAM Identity Centre Groups are limited to five per EMR Studio.
EMR Studios can have 100 IAM Identity Centre users.

Poland, Romania presidential elections held amid Russian interference, far-right surge — what you need to know

Poland and Romania — key NATO allies bordering Ukraine — are holding presidential elections on May 18, with both votes unfolding under the shadow of Russian interference and rising far-right influence.
The simultaneous elections are being closely watched across Europe, with growing concerns about foreign meddling and a potential shift in regional policy toward Ukraine as nationalist and pro-Russian voices gain traction.
In Romania, far-right, Eurosceptic candidate George Simion faces pro-EU Bucharest Mayor Nicusor Dan in a tight runoff.
Simion, the leader of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), secured nearly 40% of the vote in the first round on May 4 and has called for Ukraine to compensate Romania for its aid contributions.
“Ukraine needs us, we don’t need Ukraine,” Simion said during a televised debate on May 8. “We certainly want compensation for Romania’s participation in the war effort so far."
Simion’s platform includes ending military aid for Ukraine, prioritizing national interests, and renegotiating the country’s foreign commitments. If elected, his presidency could realign Romania’s foreign policy at a critical moment in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Polls show the two candidates neck-and-neck, with an AtlasIntel survey on May 13 placing both at 48.2%. Voting in Romania began at 7 a.m. and will continue until 9 p.m. Romanians abroad were able to cast ballots since May 16.
Romania has played a vital role in Ukraine’s defense and humanitarian response, donating a U.S.-made Patriot missile system in 2024, signing a bilateral security agreement with Kyiv, and facilitating grain exports through the Black Sea.
The current election follows the annulment of the initial first round in November 2024, which Romania’s Constitutional Court invalidated over evidence of social media manipulation and foreign interference.
That round had been won by populist Calin Georgescu, who openly promoted conspiracy theories and supported Russia, calling Ukraine a “fictional state” and predicting its partition as “inevitable."
Romania heads to historic presidential runoff as populist and pro-EU candidate are neck-and-neck
Editor’s note: this article was updated on May 16 with the latest polling data. Just days before the Romanian presidential election runoff, the two presidential hopefuls are neck-and-neck in the polls. Polling by AtlasIntel, released on May 13, showed far-right George Simion and liberal pro-EU Bucharest Mayor Nicusor Dan were

Warsaw accuses Russia of interference as Poles head to the polls
Meanwhile, in Poland, Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned on May 16 that Russian hackers attacked websites of ruling coalition parties just days before the presidential vote.
“Two days before the elections, a group of Russian hackers operating on Telegram attacked the websites of Civic Platform,” Tusk wrote on X. He said the cyberattacks also targeted the Left and Polish People’s Party (PSL), both members of his coalition.
Poland’s Digital Affairs Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski earlier described Russia’s interference as “unprecedented,” alleging Moscow launched hybrid attacks to disrupt state functions and destabilize the electoral process.
Polish voters are choosing among candidates including Warsaw Mayor Rafal Trzaskowski, the frontrunner, and Poland 2050 leader Szymon Holownia.
Several candidates have drawn scrutiny for pro-Russian rhetoric.
Far-right candidate Slawomir Mentzen has connections to nationalist circles critical of Poland’s support for Ukraine. Karol Nawrocki, backed by the conservative Law and Justice party, has been criticized for remarks seen as sympathetic to Moscow.
One episode that captured the attention of both Polish and Ukrainian media was Mentzen’s spat with Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi.
After visiting the western Ukrainian city on Feb. 24, Mentzen published a video near the monument to Stepan Bandera, calling the late Ukrainian nationalist a “terrorist” and accusing Ukraine of “worshipping criminals.”
Bandera, assassinated by the KGB in 1959, led the radical wing of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and organized the assassination of Polish Interior Minister Bronislaw Pieracki.
The Polish election, with a potential runoff on June 1, comes as the country grapples with debates over national security, migration, and European integration.
Like Romania, Poland has emerged as one of Ukraine’s staunchest allies since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in 2022, providing robust military, economic, and humanitarian support.
Russia launches record 273-drone attack on Ukraine ahead of planned Trump-Putin call
Ukraine’s Air Force said it intercepted 88 drones, while 128 others vanished from radars, likely used as decoys to overwhelm air defenses. The assault involved coordinated use of electronic warfare units, mobile fire teams, and anti-aircraft systems.

1. Quetta Gladiators
The Gladiators have been the standout team of the season so far. With 5 wins from 8 matches, they lead the points table with 11 points and a net run rate of +0.906. Their recent victory over Islamabad United, where they posted a record-breaking total of 263/3, underscores their dominance. Key players like Rilee Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz have been in scintillating form, making them the team to beat as the tournament progresses.
2. Islamabad United
The defending champions have shown resilience, securing 5 wins from 8 matches, placing them second on the table with 10 points and a net run rate of +0.650. Despite a heavy loss to Quetta, their overall performance has been commendable. Players like Andries Gous and Shadab Khan have been pivotal in their successes, and they remain strong contenders for the playoffs.
3. Karachi Kings
The Kings have had a solid run, winning 5 of their 8 matches, which puts them on equal points with Islamabad United. Their net run rate stands at +0.433. While they have been consistent, they will need to address certain areas to ensure they maintain their position in the top four.
4. Lahore Qalandars
With 4 wins from 9 matches, the Qalandars are in the playoff race with 9 points and a net run rate of +0.958. Their performances have been a mix of highs and lows, but they possess the talent to turn things around in the second half. Players like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Fakhar Zaman will be crucial in their quest for a playoff spot.
