Trying to stay positive abt the spring anime season so here are some things to look forward to:

3 sports anime, one of them is by MAPPA, so we can expect great animation and the other 2 are actually female led sports anime?? And they are not ecchi?? Is this a miracle?? (Boukyaku Battery, Rinkai! and Ooi! Tonbo)

2 yuri anime coming, yayyyyy,,, (Whisper me a Love Song and The Two Sides of Voice Actor Radio)

2 slice of life anime (Tadaima, Okaeri and Tonari no Youkai-san) + Yuru Camp is coming back (the sole cgdct of the season, my crops are dying)

Also we have a BL, and I need you to brace yourself for what i'm going to say next: it's an ABO m-preg childcare BL (Tadaima, Okaeri)

As for other romance anime we have the Spice and Wolf remake (i'm not sure if it's a remake or a new season?) and i'm also looking forward to Unnamed Memory.

And we have the single shoujo of the season: A Condition Called Love. I've heard great things abt the manga so I hope the anime is good

If i'm being honest tho, spring season looks nowhere near as good as winter did to me

So after watching the second episode of the Seiyuu Radio anime, I went back to check the manga, and yeah, they are just absolutely gutting the source material. We've already sped through seven chapters, cutting out most of the deeper character work and interesting factoids about the entertainment industry that made the story work in the first place in favor of pure plot functionality. Just read the manga if it's got your interest at all, it's so much better on every conceivable level.

The first episode of The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio was really cute! While I knew what to expect since I read the manga adaptation a while ago, I still enjoyed it very much! This is one series that really benefits from an anime adaptation because of the voice acting aspect. Mikku and Moeshi did such a fantastic job voicing the characters! I’m excited to see how the rest of the anime will play out!

For Bandori fans like me, their radio/seiyuu personalities sound a lot like Kokoro and Kanon lol

Oh the anime cut so much out of what makes this story and its characters likable and interesting. Sato isn't a gyaru just because they're cute or whatever, she is a gyaru because she is trying her hardest to enjoy her teenage years and dodge the looks of sympathy she gets when she talks about her family life and she thinks the people who are better at enjoying life are gyarus who dress up the way they want to without a care.

here's the stuff I'm watching Spring 2024!

Dungeon Meshi cour 2: It's Dungeon Meshi cour 2.

Train to the End of the World: I mean..... with that premise, how can I NOT watch it. The 4 main characters are so compelling and fun to watch bounce off of each other. do yourselves a favor and at least watch episode 1 for the What factor alone

Sentai Daishikkaku: First half of episode 1 was a bit of a slog but once they dropped the extremely obvious act, I found the characters to be intriguing and the premise hooked me. Episode 2 I liked even better. hopefully this is going places

Wind Breaker: mostly just following this one for the sound design and the animation. hoping the characters/premise grow on me

Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night: <- i don't think thats true. I don't think jellyfish care what time of day it is. Anyways the fanservice in episode 1 really icked me out but everything else was pretty top notch so im covering my eyes and praying that no more fanservice like that happens

Kaiju No. 8: I was disappointed that the premise does not seem to center the kaiju cleanup crew which was more fascinating to me than the actual kaiju fighters. But the music was really ambitious and unique in a way that grew on me so I'll keep watching
