Truth be told, TFA is like the only show other than BW in which Megop is not my top Optimus ship. Instead I ship Optimus/Sentinel. So much drama! Heartbreak! Possible future reconciliation?

Also I totally see Sentinel as a bratty bottom and love the fact that fandom has written two fics in which Optimus fucks Sentinel's head while it wasn't attached. Good stuff.

I think as far as tfa ships, the one I ship the most is MegaStrikNut? Megatron, Strika, and Lugnut?

The general, her consort, and their Lord, and all three of them care deeply about each other even if Megatron denies this.

Though, I do ship tfa Megop a lot (maybe not the breed of tfa Megop that's popular, though? I'm rather specific when it comes to the ship, but I feel like it can go in cool directions)

Mmmnm but tfa MegaShock, because like c'mon look at tfa Shocky. He's a massive simp, and I admire that in a mech.

OpiSent (is there a ship name for those two? OpiSent is my best bet, but SentiOp is also as you suggested a truly interesting option. You can also say it's prime²) like, all the fire and snark in their relationship and the betrayal and the emotion and just. Fun. So much interesting situations.

I genuinely don't get sentiop like it was bad enough sentinel treated optimus more like a punching bag whenever he visited but also why would optimus date someone who badmouths his friends and refuses to take any real responsibility? Such a relationship would be very exhausting, optimus gives it his all yet sentinel does the bare minimum.

Since im on the subject, as far as TFA goes i will never ship SentiOp or Blackarachnia with optimus. They're too emotionally manipulative and self serving to be good s/os, plus i rather for Optimus to find someone new and who treats him kindly. Like as much compassion as i have for them, they act too rancid and honestly even if they are romantic they'd still try to blame Optimus for every bad thing. They still judge him for HIS failures yet he goes out of his way to protect him from theirs. So unequal.

TFA! TFA!

You and the lovely @moonriveryearnings asked for TFA, so here goes!

The first character I first fell in love with: I distinctly remember being absolutely captivated with Shockwave’s design. At that point in my descent into the TF canons, I had only encountered TFP and tangentially, G1. Shockwave’s TFA design is just such a step in a different direction from his original design, and it also kind of meets all my standards for character design. Big, lanky, inhuman-ish, antlers, claws??? Pair all of that with his role as a double agent and I was hooked.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Two, no, three answers for this one: Wasp, Starscream, and Blitzwing. It’s a well-known fact that TFA varies most heavily from the initial source material, and at the point I started watching TFA, I had only Prime for reference. I hadn’t even heard of Beast Wars outside of memes (how far we’ve come from then…). Because of his tragic lack of screen time and inspired by who I knew was a joke character from Beast Wars, I really didn’t expect that much of Wasp from TFA. But then all three of those episodes came together to hit me in the face and leave me for dead in a Denny’s parking lot. Once I actually learned Wasp’s story in context, it was all over for me, and watching Beast Wars made me appreciate him even more. I even put a reference to him in my DnD campaign! And TFA Starscream, as you know, is very different from TFP Starscream. Both iterations are good in their own ways, it just took me a little while to warm up to Scream in Animated. What really sold me were his scenes with his clones, and Tom Kenny killed it with his vocal performance. With Blitzwing, I thought he made for pretty good comic relief, but took the whole triple-changer thing at face value (pun possibly intended). What got me to go “wait a fucking minute. What” with him was the idea that he was turned into a triple-changer setting off the headcanon alarms everywhere. Not to mention the influences of Jace and Mac.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Blackarachnia. Don’t get me wrong, she works fine for the story she’s in, but having seen her original Beast Wars iteration, I’m a little salty.

The character I love that everyone else hates: I… can’t really think of anyone for this, although I will say that there is a severe lack of Wasp in general amongst the fandom. Did we watch the same show??

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Again, don’t really have one for this. If I liked ‘em at the beginning, I like ‘em now.

The character I’d want to be like: In this new year may I have the tenacity of Starscream, the steadfastness of Megatron, the theatricality of Blitzwing, and the murderous capabilities of Shockwave.

The character I’d slap: Sentinel Prime. It’s on sight. I’m not hesitating, bitch.

A pairing that I love: Rather unexpectedly, StarOp has captivated me. It’s mostly about the parallels between Starscream and Optimus, their arcs that have to do with leadership, their differing responses to trauma and the brimming narrative potential I can smell if they were to meet in circumstances that didn’t immediately spark a fight. Also, MegaShock is wholly too cute and made wholly too painful by the events of the series, which makes it even better.

A pairing that I despise: SentiOp. Optimus deserves so much more.

The first character I first fell in love with: Optimus Prime. He is the best example of an Optimus Prime with Flaws but that don't make him any less of a hero. They really struck gold mixing up his character to make him well..A CHARACTER.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Sentinel Prime. He's a competently executed character than what most would expect and we're even given a tiny glimpse of redemption. He is still a pretty awful person but good thing the show doesn't condone it. Plus Townsend Coleman really nails the role!

The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Who is Toxitron for 500.

The character I love that everyone else hates: The human villains are actually zany in their own right. I love Meltdown for actually being a threat; Slo-Mo and Nanotech for their Villainous Couple aesthetic. But I guess since they're not Decepticons they're automatically bad 🙄

The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Lugnut. His schtick gets pretty old after a while. I'd rather much focus on his relationship with Strika and rivalry with Shockwave.

The character I would totally smooch: Ratchet he deserves it ❤❤❤❤❤

The character I’d want to be like: Jazz. I wish to obtain the level of patience he has.

The character I’d slap: Porter C. Powell for having the gall to throw a child on the streets all because she was a "threat" to his ambition, endangering lives for money, and also for being a selfish jerk for no reason at all; Sentinel at least has a tragic explanation for his behavior. Porter has none.

A pairing that I love: Optilina SariBee was my first real OTP before I knew what that was

A pairing that I despise: SentiOp, Sentinel is a toxic friend. What makes you think he'd make a good love interest? He has a LOT of amending&unlearning to do before he could be considered a viable suitor for anyone. Also Blitzbee: They have the same VAs but nothing of actual substance in common.

Bakudeku: same reasons for why i don't ship SentiOp; Bakugo was a mean ass bitch to Deku to where it wasn't even a normal rivalry but straight up bullying. It's not Deku's duty to fix Bakugo, and they would not last long.

Bwen: just....why?

Joey x Mai: I admit when I was a kid I used to ship them until i found out later on Mai is a grown woman.

Joey x Kaiba: again, Kaiba was a mean ass hoe to the poor lad. Joey deserves someone who won't put him down for every little thing and Kaiba needs someone who he can get along with but also willing to set personal boundaries if needed.

Holley x Mater: i still think this pairing exists to stave off Holley x Finn (which i also don't ship) but Mater and Holley literally has no romantic chemistry and just shoved together. Holley doesn't need a love interest neither does Mater.

Oh y'all gonna be so mad but...Peter x MJ WAIT NOT THE COMICS but I'm talking about the one from Spectacular Spider-Man. Peter x MJ exists in so many universes but I love Peter x Gwen in Spectacular and I hate for them to be permanently broken up just for the sake of Peter x MJ. I also don't really like Garfield!Peter x MJ, I don't like the idea of using her as a consolation prize right after Gwen's death

Llorumi/Lloyd x Harumi: Harumi faked having feelinga in order to harm him and his friends. She gave the poor boy trust issues that lasted entire seasons. He deserves someone who he can trust, and Harumi needs to focus on healing. Also Lloyd wouldnt have forgiven her that easy

Jasonnie: didn't he know her when she was a still a teenager? Uh anyways I greatly prefer them as friends since it's so rare for intimate platonic relationship between a guy and a girl. Besided I prefer them having love interests outside their social circle

Tucker x Valerie: she is way too good for him

Nigel uno x Numbuh 362: i never saw them as a romantic ship plus i feel like they needed all the knd to be married when Nigel easily could've been the cool single uncle or had a new love interest

Robin Hood x Regina: why date the woman directly responsible for your wife's death?

Hook x Emma (uh oh) yeah I wasn't a fan of them back then and still not really big on them now. I wished Graham or Bael was still alive to be her endgame and Hook got with someone else (or maybe that's the Hook x OC shipper in me talking)

Hades x Maleficent: yeah no. They'd bring out the worse in each other and based in very superficial qualities even for villain standards. Hades needs someone who can help him keep calm.

Max x Bradley Uppercrust III: no. Bradley was straight up rude to Max, and Max wouldn't put up with his antics no matter how rich he is.

Not a fan of them. It's what I say about SentiOP: Surge is toxic and in order for her to be in any real relationships she has to unlearn a LOT and undergo some deep personal work.

1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get

SentiOp/Optinel: Putting someone down for ending up in a position you put them in, disrespecting their friends and personal boundaries, making snide comments at their expense, & ragging on them for their flaws while refusing to work on yours isn't love. Optimus deserves better than that. Besides Sentinel would just try to find a way to control Optimus/treat him like a trophy; & he's clearly jealous of him which is also not a good competent for a stable romance.

Ace x Lexi: besides being an obvious "male lead x female lead" pair they're also pretty interchangeable in terms of personality so there's little room for interesting dynamic. It's just a repackaged version of Bugs x Lola with none of the chemistry

Shadowpeach: as much as I love their rivalry there's just too much baggage for romance & honestly Macaque could use an original love interest/partner to help him sort out his issues

Amethyst Ocean: just because the show tells you to ship them doesn't mean you have to listen. #GrayGhost forever!!

13. Unpopular opinion about XXX character

I rather prefer to leave Sentinel's arc open ended to show how he's forever trapped in the middle, uncertain (vs Optimus ultimately choosing good/Autobots & Blackarachnia ultimately choosing hate/Decepticons). Not redeemed obviously but not evil either. Also he works better as a spiritual metaphor than a political one

Elise is nearly not as awful as the fandom treats her & she doesn't need to be Blaze 2.0 in order to be improved

Lapis was the victim and i hate how the show tried to paint her and jasper's relationship as mutually abusive

Prince Ben was one of the best characters in descendants and i feel like the movies downgraded him because they didn't want to risk him upstaging their precious little grape soda gremlin

King Artie (shrek) wasn't all that bad in fact I love his more subdued personality makes him stand out from the more quirky eccentric characters

14. Unpopular opinion about your fandom:

The way ppl in the ninjago fandom depicts harumi as a bland seductress obsessed with knives & hurting Lloyd yet ignores her CPTSD & redeemable qualities gets on my nerves

The SU fandom is no less toxic than others also stop blaming them for a certain incident when it had NOTHING to do with fandom drama

The ben 10 fandom has a misogyny problem

the shrek fandom needs to do a better job with fanfics I'm sick of seeing crack shit
