Can you talk about schuleclerc? Because I am not yet in to it but I think I could be? So please ramble why I should like them?😶‍🌫️

I can definitely talk about schuclerc.

(also if u like schuclerc deff follow @mickbetsch if u dont already we're the only two insane enough to ship these two)

so, what is so beautiful about them is this meant to be idea about them. them being told they were meant to be teammates, they grew up in and around ferrari being told they were their future.

mick their prince, royalty, allowed and welcomed home by name alone. his name carves into the seat the moment he stepped into a car and charles who carved it in there by himself who wore red from the moment he opened his eyes and said he wanted to be theirs. charles who is their predestined.

they're tied to eachother by a red sting connected to their souls and thats why it's such a good ship because you can play around w that dynamic and see it as soft and loving and kind and the one guy who actually understands it sometimes like

or another hurting niamh schuclerc fic

or you can play around it with mick being at merc instead, breaking their string in some way breaking the string in their professional lives, to make the makkinen and sewis comparison. the 'I hate everyone but you' because they can't help to genuinly understand the pressure and the need to prove, its in different ways but they both have to prove theyre worth it, prove they are what people make them out to be

In the au where Lewis retired instead of nico would you ship sico (the universe version of sewis, rivals for the early DTS era, Ferrari vs Merc), sewis ("hey guys remember their title battle in 2010??"), or brocedes (brocedes)

i am a bit of a slut for semi obscure there is nothing here but what me and three others conjure up what if pairings i wont lie so i probably Would still be interested in sewis (that era of sewis does fascinate me even now so…) tho the aus of omg what if lewis went to merc and was in a title fight with sico??? would genuinely have Nothing on what actually happened irl i concede to this truth

that being said!!! to me sico are most enjoyable when there is someone in between for them to push and pull off of in different ways and Then come into each other. if that even makes sense i am so v v tired 😔 so i think i would need smth else there in the beginning to sink my teeth into….mb i would have to revolve the possibility of vb in the other seat??? how would he work with nico. does jenson stay in mclaren. lol imagine if fernando goes back to ferrari and it’s a title fight between merc nico and ferrari seb and fernando….deliciously awful vibes

this might be going into way too much depth and detail but tbh the way i can most clearly see lewis retiring at around that time is if he never went to mercedes and just kept bopping around in mclaren before fucking off. which all lends to SUCH a different dynamic between him and nico like…..are they still friends? probably?? i don’t see lewis going to races but mb after a handful of years we still him popping up in the merc garage….nico showing up at fashion shows that lewis has a hand in….or does he go more into music and we get red carpet nico rosberg at music award show and he’s just Lewis Hamilton’s (XDNA) Childhood Friend and Formula One Driver (the idea of formula one blowing up bc of dts then and the attempted gatekeeping that would brew between Music Team LH and Racing Team LH would be probably terrible and i need it. (i probably wouldn’t ship them tbh bc brocedes as a main ship doesn’t generally do it for me but i Would respect and get the history and lore)

if someone were to write a fic that checks all your boxes, what would that fic look like? (or maybe an easier question, what are some of your favorite fic tropes?)

Definitely an easier question since I have several moods that I can get into that are mutually exclusive.

However if I were opening up the magic AO3 of everything I want, I'm going:

-historical AU

-arranged marriage

-over 30k

-involving lots of bed sharing and mutual pining

Other tropes I love, some f1 specific, others not:

-a fully committed modern au that thinks super hard about translating career trajectories, interpersonal dynamics, etc

-super nerdy for want of a nail AU's (eg: lewis's engine fails at Abu Dhabi, not nico's, so 2015 starts with them both tied on titles; Seb stays at red bull; Lewis never goes to Merc, etc.]

-fics that pick up a familiar ship in a less familiar moment in their dynamic: martian post mark retiring, sewis or brocedes pre silver war, future season AU's (any time a young ship have their own silver war someday I eat it up)

-a/b/o of all sorts, but ideally played either humiliatingly straight (sudden heat! Desperate omega! Breeding kink!) Or pretty subverted. Off the top of my head I'd be fascinated by a sebcedes where whatever the others are, seb is a beta

-non-nuclear family fic: life as we know it au's (two characters who hated each other suddenly are responsible for their best friends' baby), single parent falls in love, someone finds out they were a parent all along, etc

-did I mention how much I love historical au's

All these dramatic twists and turns, I wish this was an actual tv show😂😭😭 so many ships and oh no, Valtteri don’t leave, Lewis loves you! Aah, I don’t even know who I ship Lewis with the most now; it started with Brocedes, then Hakkinen, but Sewis tho, and I have soft spot for Merc boys😭😭

There are too many dramatic turns!!!! I am not prepared for the emotional toll this au is having on me😭😭😭

“Morning Lewis.” Bono greeted his driver with a small smile, his trusty Monday morning coffee flask in his left hand. Rosa bounded in not long after – with the bulk of the race team’s engineering meetings happening tomorrow when Valtteri would also be at the factory, the PR department were taking the opportunity for Lewis to catch up on signing driver cards and team merch. There was a steady stream of people walking in while Lewis chatted with his engineer and press officer, either with their heads down or chatting quietly to the person next to them. Shov, both Jameses, Riki, Evan, Ron, Tony and Marcus… Lewis suddenly found himself scanning the crowd for a particular face. “I thought Seb would be in by now?” He glanced down at his watch, which now read quarter past nine. “He said something about coming in early,” Bono nodded at Simon as he trundled in through the main doors.

“I really am happy for Valtteri though.” Lewis added, knowing he meant it with every syllable. “You don’t need to convince any of us of that mate.” Bono said with a reassuring smile. The words ‘this isn’t last year anymore’ seemed to hang in the air between them as Bono reached out to clap Lewis on the shoulder again. “I think, today is just one of those days where it’s damage limitations. We still managed to outscore Ferrari with you finishing in fourth. If we hadn’t been able to manage the overheating issues it could have gone much worse, and at least you finished where you qualified.” Once again Lewis was transported back to Malaysia where he’d sat and watched white smoke pour out of the back of his car and he hadn’t been able to do a damn thing about it. Yeah, fourth place was definitely better than that.

“Hi, I’m Sebastian Vettel – Head of Race Strategy at Mercedes AMG Petronas, and I’m here to answer your questions…” Seb could almost feel his eyes glaze over as his voice trailed off. Behind the camera Rosa let out a small snicker. “I’ve forgotten what race we just did.” He laughed before hitting his forehead with the palm of his right hand. “I can remember my job title and the team name but I can’t remember what country I was in two days ago. Where were we?”

Rosa tried, and failed, to answer Seb’s question amid her laughter.

“I’m too jetlagged…” He stood with his hands on his hips as his mind stayed blank and Rosa slowly pulled herself together.

“Canada!” She snickered. “That’s definitely going in the blooper reel.”

“We have a blooper reel?!” Seb’s face must have been a picture as his voice went up by almost an octave. “Since when did we have a blooper reel?”

Rosa burst out laughing again, and just about managed to press the stop button on the camera.

Sebastian frowned as he looked at the telemetry outputs in front of him. There was still twenty minutes left of FP2, but it was already abundantly clear that the car wasn't fast enough. He immediately felt ridiculous for standing in front of Lewis in his champagne sodden shirt at the last race in Barcelona and telling him that he was going to win Lewis the title. As much as he meant it with every fibre of his being, and wanted it desperately, no amount of confidence and wishful thinking was going to make it happen with a click of his fingers. Seb shook his head as the global TV feed cut to Lewis' car, it was going to be a very long debrief.

“Will you be joining Valtteri’s track walk today?” Tony asked as he drizzled a second small pot of honey over his fruit and yoghurt. It was an offer that had been open to Sebastian for all of the circuits on the calendar he was unfamiliar with. Seeing pictures of on-boards from the car was one thing – but nothing would help Seb learn a circuit like seeing it for himself and being able to crouch down and brush the tips of his fingers against the tarmac to see just how abrasive it really was. “No, I uh…” Seb made sure to properly chew on his toast before swallowing. “I’ve driven here before, back in 2006 so…” It had gotten easier over the past four months for him to mention his driving career every now and then to his colleagues without feeling like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole. And they never shook their heads and said what it pity it was that Seb had never made it. Instead, in true ultra-competitive nature, they saw it as an advantage over the other teams on the grid to have someone on the pit wall that actually knew what driving an F1 car was really like. “I should be good.”

hi, just dropping here to say i keep fainting when i read the rules of strategy and picture seb in the merc pit wall outfit, thank you for that 🫡

SAME. (no word of a lie, so much of Merc!Seb is self indulgence on my part because those button up shirts really have been doing the lords work since 2014, really is the sexiest team kit on the grid)

I really did need this ask today to help me feel a tiny bit better (and I'm legit thrilled that people have been enjoying TRoS as much as they have 🥺)
