In the spirit of the season, they have both a treat…

…and a trick! 🥲

In the span of a few moons:

-Scorchstar’s son Stormfeather and granddaughter Wolfshade fell through the ice and drowned at 59 moons old and 29 moons old respectively.

-Scorchstar’s granddaughter Rockkit died of kitten cough at 6 moons old.

-Scorchstar’s mate Mountaintuft was buried alive in an avalanche at 159 moons old.

-Scorchstar’s son Shadowfade was found dead near the Spottedclan border at 73 moons old.

-Scorchstar’s granddaughter Squirrelriver died from complications with giving birth at 48 moons old.

-Scorchstar’s mate Shinedawn faded away slowly until he was found dead in his nest 157 moons old.

-Scorchstar’s sister Rippleshiver died of yellow cough at 101 moons old.

-Scorchstar’s grandughter Peakeagle died saving Squirrelriver’s kits from a snake at 44 moons old.

-Scorchstar’s grandson Bluepaw died of yellow cough at 12 moons old.

…So yeah, his family is not having a great time.

Shimmerkit is named after Shinedawn’s late sister and Scorchstar’s childhood friend (hence her ghost hanging out with them). Fogfur and Eagledart ended up taking him in after Mountaintuft and Shinedawn’s deaths as Scorchstar was in no state to take care of a kit. He’s best friends with Fogfur and Eagledart’s son Owlpaw. Highshade’s chilling in the background because even though literally everyone in the clan knows that Fogfur is his father it’s still not like “official” yet… Plus Eagledart is pretty close to absolutely losing her mind and probably doesn’t need to be pushed any farther.

Multimind Sorcerer - CR6 Sorcerer

As for how to deal with you, I'm of two minds. One of them is psychic and the other is dead.

After taking a few weeks off, I'm back with a fairly straightforward addition to your NPC codex.

This sorcerer was, at one point in her life, just a psychic bloodline sorcerer, but she opened her mind too much and let something else in. Perhaps on purpose, or perhaps by accident - although she seems to have it mostly under control now, at least.

Since her only way of damaging corporeal enemies is magic missile, she's mainly a support caster. Casting magic missile with the Fearsome Spell metamagic is a solid play though.

Multimind Sorcerer - CR 6

The elven woman seems torn between staring intently at you as if seeing into your mind, and being distracted by what seems like a figment of her imagination that you can't see or hear.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

Possessed Bloodline Arcana (Su) 6 times per day, when the multimind sorcerer casts a non-cantrip spell, she can roll the next Will save she attempt against a mind-affecting effect before her next turn twice and take the better result. If she has already failed a save against a mind-affecting effect, she can instead attempt another Will save against that ongoing mind-affecting effect after successfully casting her spell. The multimind sorcerer can use this ability only once against a given mind-affecting effect.

Psychic Spellcasting (Su) The multimind sorcerer's sorcerer spells and spell-like abilities count as psychic instead of arcane. She uses thought and emotion components instead of verbal and somatic components when casting her spells.

Psychic Strike (Su) 6 times per day, the multimind sorcerer can target one creature within 30 feet that she can see; that creature must succeed at a Will saving throw (DC 16) or it takes 1d6+3 points of damage and becomes shaken for 1 round. The save DC is Charisma-based.

Shadowplay (Ex) Elves with this racial feature cast spells with the darkness, light, or shadow descriptor at +1 caster level.

so that was the stupidest run ive had in a bit didnt make it very far for obvious reasons I was playin loader, and in stage one, roost, I picked up strides of heresy, which if you know loader you'll immediately see the problem here?? anyway so i explored a bit, found the code rock thing cuz swinging around and shadowfading after a good swing is a great way to go careening around the map as it turns out anyway i spawned the boss, ended up w/ the jellyfish and grappled on and punched the thing 2 death as it floated ever higher, eventually I was standing on top which was fun. It blew up once but I had an absurd barrier stacked up at that point so that did nothing, made it to stage two, explored the swamp for a long while, didnt find much, but when I spawned the boss the difficulty at that point was high enough that I got three titans? and SOMEHOW managed to punch my way through those guys too, helped by the fact that I was able 2 shadowfade my way out of getting blown up by the fuel array ive been carrying the whole time so far stage three, scorched, I didnt explore much I just activated the portal, it was clay dunestrider, and i died quickly cx

Thanks for asking! This is the current leadership team:

I don’t think I’ve really mentioned it yet but alongside the leader lineage challenge I’m running I’ve also been doing the same with the medicine cat and mediator positions, so Mountaintuft and Lupineclover both inherited their positions from their parents and will pass them on to their kits, while Shinedawn and Flutterwhisker chose to train as medicine cats and won’t pass their positions on to anyone.

-Scorchstar somewhat unwillingly inherited the leadership from his mother, Birchstar, when she died of old age. He has two viable heirs, Shadowfade, the current deputy, his other biological son Stormfeather. He is mates with Mountaintuft and Shinedawn.

-Shadowfade stands to inherit the leadership from his father Scorchstar, but has no heirs of his own so far. His mate Larkheart died from a snake bite and he hasn’t chosen another yet.

-Mountaintuft inherited her position as Lead Healer from her father Coldtuft. She has 4 viable heirs, her 1st litter of Goldjump and Fogfur, as well as her second litter of Shadowfade and Stormfeather. She is mates with Scorchstar and Shinedawn.

-Shinedawn chose to train as a medicine cat after his sister Shimmerkit died of kitten cough at 4 moons old. He is mates with Scorchstar and Mountaintuft.

-Flutterwhisker decided to train as a medicine cat because as the youngest of 21 kits, how else was she supposed to get any attention? She is currently mates with a she-cat named Rhymequill, with whom she has several adopted kits.

-Lupineclover inherited the position of mediator from his mother, Seedshock, only a few moons ago. He had a mate, Fishhawk, and an heir, Brambleshade, but they both died shortly before him becoming mediator, leaving him without an heir. He and his new mate Breezefreckle, however, are hoping to soon remedy this.
