Mist Memories
Leo Valdez x reader for his birthday ahhhh (even though it's angsty) with a platonic/developing jason x reader cameo at the end (lmao im sorry i couldn't help myself 😭)
Based on this picture I found in pinterest + also [kinda] based on traitor by olivia rodrigo and omg i really recommend u guys listen to this edit because it reminds me so much of this fic that's been stuck in my head for MONTHS also kind of a run away with me prologue lol
Tumblr media
Your POV
I nervously made my way across the forest until I reached a limestone cliff. I knocked on the iron door, not really expecting to get an answer.
My boyfriend has been shutting himself in Bunker 9 for the past few weeks. I stood there counting up to seven before knocking again. I knocked again two more times, until he answered in the middle of my last knock.
He removed his goggles and winced as sunlight hit his eyes. He'd grown thinner and paler, making the dark circles in his eyes more pronounced.
"Oh, Leo..." I reached out to brush a few strands of hair away from his face, but he moved away.
"What are you doing here?" He said in a monotone voice.
I moved to walk inside the Bunker, brushing off his hesitation to let me in. "I'm your partner, remember? And I'm really concerned because you're shutting yourself out lately. You know everyone's starting to worry about you. Percy asked me to check on you because you missed pegasus riding with him. Oh, and I'm pretty sure Jason's coming back from Camp Jupiter soon. I was hoping you and Annabeth could be with Piper while Percy and I hung out with Jason because it's been a little awkward since their breakup. Plus Piper wanted to tell you something—"
"Please," he said forcefully causing me to stop and look at him. "Just... Get out."
Normally, he'd shut himself from the world for a few days to work on an important project or because he was feeling really sad and he needed space. But this was getting out of hand. He had never locked me out of his life when I offered to help him. He was never this mean when he asked for space. I was not having this attitude of his.
"Okay, Leo. I tried to play nice. What is so important that you blow off all your friends for nearly a month that you can't even tell your partner, or maybe say hi to your best friend who's coming back from the other side of the country?"
He didn't say anything. He pursed his lips and avoided eye contact. I scanned he room for any signs.
It was messier than usual with all the crumpled paper scattered on the floor, especially on his desk. He could have been drawing up new plans. Something in my gut told me that something wasn't right. There were no new unfinished projects, indicating that he wasn't starting a new invention. Harley's helicopter lay on his bench in the same state it was weeks ago. Huh, not even his siblings could enter the Bunker.
I turned and Leo was already changing Festus' oil. I took this moment of distraction to pick up a few pieces of crumpled paper on the floor and on his desk. I had to process the words a bit longer—too long that Leo took notice. Damn dyslexia.
I heard footsteps speed up behind me, but it was too late. I read enough and got the gist of what he had been trying to do these past few weeks.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" He yelled at me. Small embers started to erupt between his curls.
I laughed dryly. "So this is what you've been up to?"
His fists tightened, further crumpling the paper in his hands. His eyes flashed with anger, despair and confusion.
I sighed and focused my eyes on his desk, not daring to look at him any longer. Under some pieces of paper were old photographs of him and Piper from Wilderness School. Yup, those definitely were the mist memories she had with Jason. I read the latest draft he'd been writing:
Dear Piper,
Remember the mist memories from boarding school with Jason? They were real, but they were with me.
I miss you. I miss when it was just us. I miss the night on the roof.
Yours truly,
Leo Valdez
I tried to keep my voice from cracking. "How long?"
I heard him sigh. "Three weeks."
I balled my fists. Tears started to fall and smudge the ink. I wiped them away as fast as they came.
"How?"
"In a dream," his tone softened now. "Hera came to me in a dream and told me to check an old drawer in Bunker 9. I found the photos and the memories came rushing back."
"How long were you dating back then?"
"Two weeks."
"Were you ever going to tell me?"
Silence; then a deep breath.
"No."
I shook my head in disbelief. "Why?"
"Because I knew you'd get upset like—"
"I meant why would you throw away months of our relationship for a couple of weeks of your relationship with her? And without even bothering to tell me? Gods damn it, Leo. We've been together since you've first arrived at camp. And what about those promises you made when we were sailing to Greece? You've been keeping these feelings away from me and you've been lying to me, making me believe that there's still something between us and—"
"Oh, calm down," he said with an annoyed expression and tone, which only infuriated me more, "it's not like I did anything were her yet! I didn't kiss her or tell her how I truly felt for her! She just got out of a relationship with Jason around the same time I had that dream. I had to figure out how to talk to her about it. I've been alone in this Bunker for three. Fucking. Weeks. I didn't cheat on you."
"Oh, and that makes everything better?" I countered. "Being in a relationship isn't about not cheating, Leo. It's about being honest and communicating with each other."
"Oh, like you've been communicating with me? After the war, you take go back to Manhattan for school, and you take a job. I haven't seen you much during the holidays because work has been keeping you in the city. And you won't tell me what you even do for a living!"
I took in a deep breath. "I told you I needed to have a life outside of camp! I needed to know first that I could handle myself in the mortal world as a normal human being. I needed this demigod part of my life to be separate as much as possible! I've been in two wars, Leo. I needed time to myself, too. And I was about to tell you guys in a few more days. But I guess now, I'm glad I've kept you out of that part of my life. At least I have an escape from all of this. And now, especially from you."
I took another deep breath and walked to the door, about to let myself out. I turned back again, both our tear-stained eyes meeting each other.
"If it makes you feel any better," I said softly, "I would've hated the idea of us breaking up. But if you really love her, if you really feel like you have this special connection to her and she makes you happy, then I won't get in your way. You could at least have had the decency to talk to me so we could have left on a good note."
He looked at me with wide eyes, clearly regretting his actions. I sighed and looked around the Bunker, possibly for the last time. Lots of memories were definitely created in this room; all just as grand and meaningful as the inventions they made here. But just like some of Hephaestus' contraptions, some of them were flawed and dumped in his scrapyard, no matter how much potential it could have had.
"Goodbye, Leo."
I sat on a rock on the beach that gave me a beautiful view of Long Island Sound. To my left, the sun started to set, casting an orange filter on everything. My heart broke, remembering how everything glowed orange in the Bunker. Leo always left the fires burning when he was working. The sunlight twinkling against the sea reminded me of how small bits of flame peaked through his hair earlier. I remembered how mad he was at me. Or maybe he was mostly mad at himself.
"Hey."
I jumped when someone sat—or rather, landed—beside me. I turned and smiled, seeing one of my good friends back at camp.
"Hey, you're back," I said weakly. "How long have you been here?"
He smiled at me, although he could maybe sense that something was wrong. "Half an hour, maybe? I saw Annabeth making plans to expand camp to have a city. She made me do an aerial inspection and I told her I'll get back to her tonight. That's when I saw you."
"Mhmm," I mumbled, not really knowing what to say. It was silent for a few minutes before I spoke up again, knowing he was just waiting for me to open up.
"I broke up with Leo."
His head quickly turned to me. I guess he wasn't expecting it to be that bad. "What?"
"Oh yeah," I laughed dryly. "Turns out the mist memories Piper had in Wilderness School with you? They were real. But not with you."
His eyes widened. "Oh... With Leo."
"He locked himself in the Bunker for weeks trying to write a letter. It was heartbreaking. Like, truly heartbreaking. He wanted to tell her how much he missed her and how much he missed them. Then he said how much he missed that night with her under the stars and... It hurt. Like hell."
"Oh," he said. "I guess Piper didn't tell me everything then."
"She knew all along?"
He shook his head. "Maybe not everything, but she told me she's been confused about her feelings lately and she'd been having visions or dreams of possible old memories that were messing with her head."
"I'm sorry about you and Piper," I said.
"Don't be," he said. "I understand her. It did hurt, though. But I think I can get over it some day. We're still awkward around each other, but at least we left on a good note."
I scoffed. "Leo couldn't even give me a good ending to our relationship."
"Hey," he said as he put a hand on my shoulder. "You're a great person, y/n. You've done so much, especially for him. It's his loss that he was stupid enough to let go of you."
"I know that."
"Do you really?"
"I do!" I said. "I'm a great person and I know that. But that doesn't mean what he did doesn't hurt me."
"I know," he said. "You'll find someone who'll treat you like the queen that you are. You're a great person, and I'm not just saying this to cheer you up. I truly think you're amazing."
I smiled at him. "Thanks, Jason. And you'll find someone great, too. Maybe not as great as me but, then again, who is?"
We both let out a laugh. The conch sounded in the distance, signaling dinner. I moved to stand up before hearing Jason speak up again.
"Hey, do you maybe want to just grab a couple of plates and eat out here?"
I smiled. "Yeah. That sounds good. I don't really want everyone else hounding me about the breakup right now."
I don't know how long it was going to take me to get over Leo. We really did gave something special. It was cruel how the universe gave me something so good, to make me have hope that something was finally going right, then have it yanked away from my arms just as suddenly as it came.
He never cheated on me, but that didn't mean he didn't betray every promise we made to each other. I should have known it was too good to be true. Life has always played cruel jokes on me.
Then again, who's to say that things won't turn out for the better, right?

Chapter Six (Jennifer Barkley x Reader)
Tumblr media
Previous Chapter
The entire day, nay week leading up to Jen's arrival was fraught with tension. Time went all too quickly, yet dragged simultaneously. By Friday you were brimming with so much unnecessary energy that your productivity at work was comparable to that of Leslie, who's determination was currently your source of frustration. Had she not been so resolute about giving Jen a 'personal Pawnee tour', than you would've reunited at 5 rather than 9.
Admittedly, it was also your fault for not calling out her lengthy lie, but those extra four hours you had to suffer through were compensation enough.
In an attempt to pass the extra time, you tried to stay at work for longer, but Fridays were your half day and Ron demanded that you go home immediately, lest you do any extra government work. Reluctant to return to an empty house, you'd asked around if anyone wanted to hang out, and were met with a series of rejections.
Except for Ann, who upon being enlightened about the situation, insisted she help you get ready for your date (initially you refuted the title of 'date', but by the second hour of your evening it became tolerated). Her company, though unexpected, was more than welcomed. Having someone to share your excitement with made the increasing tension almost fun.
"Y/N?" Ann waved her hand in your line of vision, catching your attention. "We going in, or just spending the night in the car?"
"Don't tempt me." You muttered, grudgingly dragged out of your thoughts.
In front of you the queue to the The Snakehole Lounge was gradually growing. The sheer amount of people gathered outside was intimidating, so you dreaded to imagine how packed it'd be inside. Staying at home would've been preferable, but it seemed that time alone with Jennifer was not a luxury presently granted to you.
"Come on." Ann nudged you with her elbow. "You've been going on about this all day and now you're going to wuss out?"
You twisted round to face her, illuminated by the flickering multi-coloured lights beaming out the club's windows. She was watching you closely, trying to gauge how you felt based off expression alone. Despite all that was rushing through your mind, you were at a loss for words. How could you even begin to convey what you were currently feeling?
"Stop overthinking it." She said. "There's no way of knowing what'll happen when you see Jennifer again, but only you can change that, so just roll with it."
You paused to consider her suggestion, coming to the conclusion that she was more observant than you gave her credit for.
"You're right." You admitted, grateful that she'd knocked some sense into you. "Thanks." Awkwardly, you leant across the centre console to hug her. You didn't know Ann all too well, but needed some way of showing gratitude for her sensibility.
"This is nice." She relaxed into the embrace, then unwound an arm to glance at her watch. "But we're five minutes late so I'm pretty sure Leslie will be sending out a search party soon."
You chuckled, separating from Ann to glance at the building once more. Jen was somewhere inside waiting for you. She'd voluntarily returned to Pawnee, and to one of its less than fine establishments of all places, just because she wanted to see you again. The very notion had your heart racing.
"I'm ready."
---
The atmosphere of the club was as intense and unruly as expected. By the time you'd adjusted to the blinding lights and deafening music, Ann had already slipped away, replaced by Tom.
"Welcome this evening's esteemed VIP." He thrusted a disturbingly bright neon beverage into your hand. "Drink up."
"What is it?"
"Sweetums Fizz. My go-to drink for when I'm tryna get lucky." He winked. "But if it doesn't work out, feel free to give her my number."
Coming from Tom, that was the closest you would get to his blessings. So, unenthusiastically you took a sip of the dreadfully sweet drink , screwing up your face as you forced it down. Trying your best not to grimace at the taste, you smiled at him in thanks before he dispersed into the mass of people.
Next to approach was Leslie, who engulfed you in a crushing hug while spewing unintelligible nonsense about her trip. Usually her overly affectionate manner was too much, but this time you pulled her closer. If all went well tonight than you would be forever indebted to her.
Removing yourself from her grip, you interrupted her endless talk. "As much as I'd love to hear about Washington," You yelled over the obnoxiously loud music playing. "I can't hear a word your saying."
"Right." She nodded. "Wrong time, wrong place." There was a pause as the both of you were happy enjoying each others company. Since Jen's exit, Leslie had been so supportive and you'd missed her while she'd been gone.
Although, now wasn't the time for acknowledgements. "Have you seen Jen anywhere?"
"Oh, yeah." Leslie swivelled around and gestured in a general direction. "I think she said something about staying near the fire escape. Said this entire building was probably a hazard."
"That sounds like her." You grinned, spotting the green glowing fire exit sign. "Wish me luck."
"You don't need it." She patted your back, smiling reassuringly as you shuffled past.
Navigating through the crowd while keeping an eye on your target was a challenge. Several people bumped into you, their drink nearly spilling as they pushed past without an apology. However, nothing else mattered as you drew closer to the sign. Nothing else mattered except finding Jen.
Only she wasn't there.
As you struggled through the final row of people, you were met with yet another group of strangers. You sighed, absentmindedly swirling your glass as you resigned to return to Leslie. You then raised it to drink while turning round, though the necessary libation never reached your lips as you collided with someone.
The casualty gasped, stepping back as the cocktail spilled down the front of their dress.
"Shit." You froze, surveying the damage. "I'm so sorry-" You finally glanced up to face the woman and apologise again, but halted upon realisation.
Of course it was Jennifer. You just couldn't catch a break.
"I was going to surprise you, but looks like you got there first." She joked, scanning the vicinity for any kind of napkin. You joined the search, eventually spotting a couple abandoned on a table.
"Again, I am so sorry." You repeated, watching as she scrubbed at the stain. The attempt was futile as it didn't take long for the paper to be completely soaked through, and with little improvement to her dress. "Come on." You grabbed hold of her hand as she discarded the napkins, eager to try and improve this disaster of an event.
You maneuverer through the club with much difficulty while dragging Jennifer, who had an iron grip on your hand. Invigorated by the embarrassment, you arrived at the bathroom a mere minute later, all but shoving her inside one of the cubicles. Under the blaringly bright lighting you could assess the damage in greater detail.
"You know what?" She casually leant against the wall, waving her finger around. "I'm having some serious Deja-vu right now." You looked at her questioningly, pleased to see she didn't look too upset with the state of her dress. "Us together in a public restroom, you staring at my chest..."
You scoffed, reaching past her to grab the toilet paper. "Don't flatter yourself." You wrapped several layers around your hand, creating a makeshift towel. "Completely different circumstances."
"Same outcome though?" She raised an eyebrow suggestively, taking the bundle of paper from you.
"We'll just have to wait and see."
"I think you owe me." She scrunched up her face. "Or is throwing your drink over someone a traditional Pawnee welcome? Because that would explain the mess back there. Pretty sure every surface was sticky."
"Maybe you should wear one of those plastic ponchos next time." You muttered, nervously fidgeting with your hands.
The familiar anxiety from earlier seemed to have reappeared, you were unable to drag your eyes away from where they were fixated . Under the sobering bathroom light, everything had suddenly become very real. It had been years since you'd pursued any kind of serious relationship, and Jen was hardly the easiest person to start with. You tried to think about what Ann would say if she were here.
Probably something astute like "All the best things in life are worth fighting for." Too cheesy.
It'd be more "Nothing good comes out of running away from what you want, even if it's hard." Not inspirational enough.
Possibly "With great effort comes great gain." Nope. You'd definitely plagiarised that one from somewhere.
Maybe she'd-
"Y/N?" Jen ducked into your line of vision, bringing you back to reality. "Lost you there for a second." She smiled cautiously, resting a hand against your arm as if tethering you to the present.
"Sorry. I was thinking about something a friend said." You admitted sheepishly, placing your hand atop of hers. "Or would say if she were here."
"Oh yeah?" She carelessly threw the wad of paper behind, her full attention now on you. "And what would she say?"
You'd finally settled on what Ann would suggest. She'd say "Kiss her, idiot."
And you did.

oooooh~ Touya's overprotective brother senses are tingling. 😂
Unlike Bakugo who met (Y/N) since the beginning of the school year, Midoriya would meet her after Shoto introduces his twin sister to the class, and since they've already talked things out her attitude is calmer than before.
He'd notice the way her face lights up the moment he or someone else starts asking about her gadgets, a look of pure happiness on her face once she starts explaining how each part of her equipment works.
You can bet Midoriya's going to be asking question after question about her equipment, his favorite one would probably be her "spider belt".
She'd let him try it out once and he was struggling so much he was left hanging upside down.
These two are quick to become friends since they would end up rambling together. Deku helps out with the quirks and (Y/N) would start getting ideas to design new equipment for each hero.
Don't let either of them have coffe or energy drinks when they're like this unless you want to deal with two hyperactive rambling dorks.
Their friendship grows stronger when they start bonding over growing up quirkless, and being treated differently because of it. Midoriya because of the bullying while in (Y/N)'s case it was due of her father.
You can bet that (Y/N) came to the hospital with his classmates when everyone went to see him after the attack on the training camp, and the angry look she gave him was enough to make him shiver.
After he switches to his shooting style he'd definitely ask her for tips when he finds out she knows kickboxing, but that doesn't mean she'll go easy on him, he'll realize this after she puts him in a headlock.
This sweet bean would try to reason with (Y/N) when she's working non-stop in the workshop, should reasoning fail, rather than the fireman carry he'll drap her over his shoulder while she's mumbling tiredly.
"...Do i even weight anything to you?"
"Nope!"
"...You're too cute for your own good Midoriya, you know that right?"
he almost ends up dropping her from shock.
Those words won't leave him sleep at night whenever he think about it "She thinks I'm cuteeeee!" he'd squeal while going red faced, until Aoyama comes bursting into his room ready to scold him for making so much noise in the middle of the night.
Midoriya would eventually try to approach (Y/N) and ask her out, but she's so oblivious and thinks he means an outing between friends. He's start stuttering while asking her out on an actual date just for her to laugh and accept, turns out she was just messing around before saying yes. Poor Babu wants to faint on the spot.
Their relationship leans more towards the cute side, whenever they're out together you can find them holding hands while walking around. If their date happens to be at the mall the two are often seen checking out new hero merch.
(Y/N) will also offer to buy Midoriya whatever piece of merch he wants before pulling out her father's credit card.
"I can pay for it Izuku"
"It's fine really!"
"Are you sure?"
They once ran into some of the guys that used to bully Midoriya in Junior High, and when they started mocking him despite the fact he now had a quirk nothing prepared them when (Y/N) gave them the characteristic Todoroki glare with a dark aura coming from behind her.
Pretty much her whole family -except for Endeavor- are over the moon when they meet Midoriya, Natsuo won't hesitate to tease the two by asking when's the wedding, leaving his little sister and her boyfriend blushing madly. Rei would keep saying Midoriya's such an adorable kid once she meets him, and would ask him to take good care of her daughter
At first Endeavor wouldn't pay attention to the fact his daughter's dating Midoriya since he's not as loud or foul-mouthed. Until he realizes is the same kid who told him he ain't shit during the sports festival AND that Midoriya is pretty close to All-Might, so there's two outcomes for this.
Either he doesn't approve or he'd try telling (Y/N) to keep an eye on the symbol of peace, but both would end up getting the same answer.
"Grow some actual facial hair and then we'll talk, you shitty burnt moustache!" Shoto's laughter could be hear all around the whole house (and Fuyumi's, even if she refuses to admit she laughed).
The answer hit Endeavor's ego hard, the worst part (for him) was that it got recorded and posted on the twin's blog, the hashtag #shittyburntmoustache was trending that week.
If (Y/N) finds out how Bakugo used to bully Midoriya, you can bet she'll start pranking the blond more often out of revenge and pettiness, the paint incident was nothing compared to what she'll do this time, from dyeing his whole uniform to hideous non-matching shades of neon to switching his shoes for heels.
She knows that in Midoriya's head everything's in the past now, but she'll still keep pulling said pranks on the explosive blond.
Power loader may have scolded her, but seeing the way Bakugo struggled to walk in those high-heels was worth it.
If he starts insulting Deku in front of (Y/N) the crackle of electricity coming from her bracelet along with a passive aggressive smile is more than enough to tell him he's danger.
It's nearly impossible to make these two shut up when they start rambling talking about heroes, specially when it comes to All-Might.
You can bet that every time Midoriya breaks another bone the first one to give him a unamused look is (Y/N). He's trying to avoid his girlfriend while his arm heals, just to feel the hairs at the back of his head rise when he feels a presence behind him.
Turning around he meets her angry smile and can clearly see the small vein about to pop on her forehead along with a twitching eyebrow. The only thing that could make her scarier was if her hair was on fire, but that's impossible...right?
Hope you guys like this! If you're curious about the belt you can find more about it on my story "Late Bloomer", or to put it simple it's inspired by Zim's PAK legs
Also, friendly reminder my asbox is open, the rules are at the top of my blog if you want to make a request!

Starlit Nights
Tumblr media
A scenario of going out to a theme park and you aren't a fan of height but you didn't tell him. This is a bit of a romance comedy and comfort type short story with my Bias Kim Byeongkwan. I hope you enjoy it and find good and supportive relationships. <3
Byeongkwan told you to wait by the entrance gate because he already bought the tickets for today. You hope he doesn't feel too bad because you actually arrived early and he doesn't like to make you wait. Smiling to yourself he was a thoughtful gentlemen through and through. While you waited your eyes drifted up to the sky even with the lights from the park entrance the stars were so bright and could be seen. A voice that always fills your chest with warmth butterflies calls out your name. There in front of you was someone who shined brighter than any star. Your face widen into a smile seeing his smiling face and eyes shimmer with life. "Hi Byeongi~" You held your arms out as he ran to you scooping you and spinning you. As you wrapped your arms around his neck and he held onto your waist. Laughing as you both kept spinning. "Okay Kwanie can you please put me down? We're going to be spinning enough later better save up our endurance." Byeongkwan looks up at you with his bottom lip stuck out in a pout. "Fine I guess I have to put you down... after one last spin." True to his word he spun you one last final time. When your feet final met the ground again he kept your waists together looking into your eyes. You reached up to cup his face in both your hand a pressed a soft kiss onto his lips. Which he returned and then kissed your forehead stepping away but not before he grabbed your hand. Reaching into his pocket with his free hand for the tickets. "Let's get it!" You rolled your eyes laughing. "Where did you learn that? You even have me saying it now." "Come on if we don't get in there we will miss out on park time." Walking side by side. He handed the tickets to the male park attendant. After a quick thank you it was time to carry out the strategy you both planned out over chat. The one thing you were nervous about was the one ride near the end of the night. Sure rollercoasters with death drops were fine and haunted houses. Heck, even bungee jumping was alright with you. However Byeongkwan was so excited to go on the massive Ferris wheel with you that you didn't have the heart to tell him that it terrified you. All the things you weren't afraid of didn't matter. You couldn't stand disappointing your lovely and thoughtful boyfriend. If he knew of course he'd take it off the list. There was a little tug on your hand that brought your thoughts back to the moment. First up was one of your picks since he insisted "Ladies first~". The excitement of the music and crowd got you as you practically dragged him behind you. All the while he eyes grew softer as he watched how happy and carefree you were here. Normally you were pretty playful but somedays you were really weighed down with things on your plate and he wanted nothing but to take it away but he knew there was a limit. So moments like this he could help you be bursting with happiness were everything. You had become his world. You were the person who held him tightly and dearly the first time you saw his resolute and cheerful exterior crumble. No judgement in your eyes. You he was still that cheerful bright person but you understood there was sadness and a lot of pressure that could make him sad and anxious. In that way you were similar. The next day after that you were waiting beside the bed with chin on the edge next to him as he woke up. "Hey beautiful boy. I love you. More than you know. I'm glad you felt safe enough to show me how you were feeling. Byeongi, you always try so hard to give to everyone else. It's okay to take a little more than you do." With that you leaned forward and kissed both his eye lids. Still swollen from where he had cried. "Now get on out here and eat. I made my secret French toast and a mountain of bacon and eggs." With that you walked out the door turning around to smile at him. In the corner of the room was the shirt you had worn last night he soaked with tears tossed into the laundry basket.
Those memoires made it feel like he owed you. Even if you always argued he did more for you. There you sat kicking your feet next to him having the time of your life. As you both comped away on a strawberry funnel cake. Small waves of heat weaving into the air as the night got cooler. Pieces of your hair sticking up here and there looking a mess. Byeongkwan reached out and smoothed what he could. You froze for a second looked up at him through your bangs. Pulling a piece of the funnel cake off he bopped it on your nose covering it powdered sugar. "Hey!" He couldn't stop laughing and his laugh was contagious that you couldn't stay annoyed at him and began laughing with him. While he was distracted you pulled off a piece too and bopped his mouth with it. Leaving his lips covered in powered sugar. While he was laughing and distracted you dove in kissed him. After pulling back you giggled at his startled expression. "There now we're even and how else could I get all the sugar off?" Looking at you he saw you'd gotten some sugar on the corner of your mouth and brushed it off for you with his thumb. Most guys weren't nearly this fun and could relax. You really were luck and blessed to have him. It was like God gave you exactly what you had hoped for and more when you found him. The night was growing deeper. The next ride was a haunted house. Both of you had a small hobby of watching Horror movies so this was going to be one of the highlights. It was a ride through one. The story of the ride was that during a great fire. Everyone else of the great estate escaped except for Mildred. The head of staff. Not noticing sweet Mildred hadn't made it out she burned along with the great mansion. Some years pass and on nights under the full moon the mansion appears. You have to avoid Mildred or she will catch you and make you be one of the staff for eternity. Her face is said to be so burned there is no skin left. It made Byeongkwan and yours skin crawl. The creepier the better. You made it through most the ride laughing and enjoying. Except for when it sounded like the floor was breaking the cart fell down onto a track underneath. Afterwards both your hair a mess. You laughed at each other for both screaming like babies. Reenacting how high pitched you were. Byeongkwan made fun of you for screaming "Did you hear yourself it was hysterical." "Big talk for someone who screeched like a banshee." It was well down to the last thing on the list. Byeongkwan pushed you along from behind bouncing on his feet. He was so excited eyes shinning. Ready to ride the Ferris wheel like many of the other couples in line. He had looked up this park on line and couples raved about how romantic and beautiful the view was. You did your best to not think about your fears and smile along with him. Hoping your boyfriend won't notice any change in your behavior. The thing is he's really good on picking up changes in moods. As you got closer the more nervous you felt. Eventually you decided the best thing to do was lean onto Byeongkwan and play it off as you wanting to cuddle. Which you did it was the only thing keeping you from running. It was unfortunately your turn now. "Let's go it's our turn come one Y/N~ I'm so excited." Forcing a smile you followed behind him into the open sided car. It wasn't so bad till the wheel started to move and the car swung slightly side to side. Your started to go rigid. Thankfully ByeongKwan was looking at the view. "Oh my gosh, you gotta look at the view it's amazing~ Y/N?"
It was then he realized that something was wrong. You were frozen stiff and your eyes were shaking. You were afraid. He'd rarely seen it but he knew. Why hadn't he picked up on it sooner. He began to feel terrible. Why didn't she say something, why didn't he notice. "Y/n you're scared aren't you?" He stopped to sigh and shake his head, "Why didn't you say so. It started in line didn't it? I took it as you being tired." Within in seconds your effort to not cry shook you. Tears in your eyes hating the fear you had because it was stupid. Slamming your eyes shut you started to speak in a wobbling voice. "I'm sorry I know it's stupid but this is the one thing here that scares me... and... and..." Byeongkwan slide closer to you and pulled your hands into his lap rubbing the back of them with his thumbs. "Hey, you shouldn't have to be ashamed you're scared. Even if you think it's stupid. Look at me." You pried your eyes open as the tears threatened to fall. "We're you trying to impress me or something? I don't think you weak or anything. So why? Talk to me please Y/n." He had his lip stuck out in a pout which he knew would normally always get you give up information. Your throat burned and as you opened you mouth tears started rolling down your cheeks. "Hey hey Y/n. Calm down and breathe first." Leading you through a few breaths. "Byeongi you were so excited to ride this together. It was the one thing you insisted on doing and I didn't want to... to... say no and make you disappointed." Now with you chin pointed down Byeongkwan had to lean down to peer into your eyes. He gently held your face tilting it up and brushing the tears away with his fingers. "Keep that up and your makeup is going to run." He said hoping to get a laugh out of you. All he got was a sad half laugh. As a few more stray tears rolled down. He looked sadly at you for a moment. His eyes were deep and dull as he felt his heart ache thinking how upset you must to be acting so unlike yourself. "Hey, please promise me this won't happen again. You'll tell me so you don't put yourself in distress for me. I only chose this because I was so happy about seeing you up here eyes all bright and smiling and we could be alone for a little here at the park. But that back fired huh? You wouldn't disappointed me by saying no. Okay." He looked you right in the eyes and you knew from how he whispered that last sentence he meant it. All you do was nod and he gave a small sad smile and kissed your cheek. You collapsed into his side shaking from how the ride swung slightly and the thought of how high it was. He kept shushing you and turned your face so it was hidden in his shirt as your arm snaked around his waist. Gripping hard onto him as you shook and his kissed the top of your head. As he hummed the tune of 5TAR. He felt a little helpless and the only thing he could think of was to put you on his lap and wrap his arm around you. Bad as this all was now he saw how much you trusted him. Never before had you shown this vulnerability and let your guard down. Your face now was tucked into his neck and your arms snaked around his neck. You were so focused on not looking that you hadn't noticed it was time to get off till Byeongkwan stood up and walked out of the car carrying you. Pulling your face away from his neck you spoke in a small voice. "I can walk Byeongi." "I know you can but you don't have to and plus you're still shaking like a kitten. It's alright close your eyes." There was no fighting him on it and you knew it. So you rested your face against his neck. This night had some great moments and some bad moments but in the end. Maybe it wasn't all so bad. You realized maybe you should tell him the truth more and be willing to trust him with your things you aren't so proud of. Maybe tonight isn't so bad. I don't think Y/N has ever shown this much of herself and spoken so openly about being upset to me. I trust her fully maybe now she'll know she can count on me too like that. With that he pressed a kiss to Y/N's head. The end.
