(I was barely a child when I found out about your departure and I could not fully understand how much that would affect me, wherever I go I take your willpower, always admiring the sacrifice you made with dad for his desire to see the world abroad. Thank you for showing me that I must fight for my dreams, even if I have to risk trying.)

At one point in the story, I couldn't remember where to save my life, the Military Police mention killing a couple that was trying to escape over the walls by hot air balloon. They were Armin’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Arlert were both mechanics with a dream to see the outside world.

This is in Isayama’s character encyclopedia book, which I do own, but this is not my picture.

Armin’s grandfather was the kind old man that named him, raised him, and gave him the book about the outside world. He got bread for Eren, Mikasa, and Armin when they began their lives as refugees behind wall Rose, and watched over the trio.

Unfortunately, Armin’s grandfather was sent to his death by the higher-ups in the inner rings. He and the other refugees from Shiganshina old enough to fight were sent outside of Wall Rose in an effort to retake Wall Maria, which was really just a disguised, twisted method of thinning the population to help with famine.

Armin’s grandfather left him his hat.

I feel like we don’t talk about this enough.

Armin smiles warmly, reminiscing about his memories with his friends. "Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackerman are my closest friends since forever. We do everything together." He mentions their names with a hint of reverence in his tone.

"Eren is this really outgoing guy, always ready for adventure but also fiercely protective-especially towards me... He has got this rough exterior that might intimidate people at first glance..." The mention of Eren brings fondness to Armin's features, making him shine, the youthful innocence coming out.

"Mikasa, on other hand, is different-she is quiet yet confident; she stands up against anyone who tries to bring harm to us...our guardian, if you will...She always fights fearlessly!"

These vivid descriptions convey their bond intertwined with timelessness -like threads connecting hearts through shared experiences. The love etched deeply onto Armin's face revealing how much these two mean to him.

Armin's eyes soften, twinkling with an ineffable warmth that transcends the mere mention of his beloved friends. A gentle blush suffuses his cheeks as he talks about them. "They are my everything... I can't even imagine life without them."
