Samurai Shodown VI Pt. 15 [Shikuru & Mamahaha/Poppy/Chample Playthroughs]

OK, this is NOT meant to mock OP's writing (they themselves said their japanese was still basic and this was meant to be done by fun, AND BY FUN I want to propose some better ways to write those names in katakana、)

Badboyhalo - バッドボーイハロー　pretty straight forward the words ~bad~,~boy~ and ~halo~ already have standardize ways of writing in kana

DanTDM - ダン・ティ・ディ・エム　dan is simple and the roman letters also have common writing (and this dot ・is used to space foreign names that have multiple words in them)

FitMC - フィット・エム・シー　~fit~ as a word already has a way to be written in kana, and yes the letter C is pronouced "shii" not "see"

Foolish - フーリシ　if you want to elongate a vowel it makes more sense to be the ~fu~ not the ~li~ sound (like ~foooolish~ is closer to foolish then ~foliiiiish~)

IronMouse - アイロンマウス　again both ~iron~ and ~mouse~ already have standardize writing in kana (OP got iron right but misspelled mouse)

JaidenAnimetion - ジェイデン・アニメーション　OP suggestion of ジャイデン is not bad, but they missed her last name!

Nihachu/niki I think they got it right! (ニハチュ and ニッキー)

Philza - フィルザ　the name phill alone is フィル without any elongation, so I just added a ~za~ to it

Slimecicle - スライムサイクル or スライムシクル　again ~slime~ and ~cycle~ already have kana, but if want to be petty and say cicle is not cycle then I guess ~shikuru~ would be the way to go

TinaKitten - ティナ・キッテン　OP almost got it, but tina has no elongation

Tubbo - チューボ or トゥーボ　this was tricky because the hard ~tu~ sound is not that used (for reference the kana for tube is チューブ)

WilburSoot I think they got it right ウィルバー・スート

Carre I`m really not sure, so OPs could be fine, but I guess カーレ could work

ElMariana, yes, エル・マリアナ

German, yes, ヘルマン

Lenay (she is listed as english speaker though lol) - リネイ but レネイ works fine as well

Luzu\Arin is pretty close, ルズ wthout the elongation and アリン not erin

Maximos - マキシモス　for some reason the ~xi~ sound becames ~ki~ in japanese sometimes

MissaSinfonia - ミッサ・シンフォニーア　OP got close, but sinfonia would be like symphony+ah so ~shinfoniia~

Polispol - ポリスポル　I dont know why OP complicated pol`s name

Quackity was right with クアキティ and if you`re feeling fancy クァキティ

Rivers - リバーズ　based on the way the surname ~rivers~ is written in kana

Roier - ロイエル　no elongation needed I feel

Rubius - ルビウス　no elongation, why did OP put an ~e~ in the middle of rubius idk

Spreen - スプリーン　thats the kana for spleen and sinse ~L~ and ~R~ sounds the same in japanese that`s what it is

Vegetta - ベジータ　his name is from a famous anime character that already has his name in kana

WillyRex - ウィリーレックス　OP was close but wily has an elongation and rex has a pause

Bagi - バジ　I don`t think her name needs any elongation

Cellbit yes I agree with セルビット

Felps - フェルプス　idk why OP wrote him as feleps

Mike yes マイク　and bonus マイク・ザ・リンク　for mike the link (yes the ~the~ becames ~za~ like in za warudo->the world)

PacTW - パック・ティ・ダブルユー　pakku is like pack while just paku is like park

AntoineDaniel - アントアンダニエル　I REALLY DONT KNOW FRENCH, but I think daniel would still be danieru and no dan`eru

AyPierre - エイピエール　~ay~ would be more like ~ei~ then just the ~a-~ sound I think

BagheraJones - バゲラ・ジョーンズ　not sure if baghera needed elongation, however jones is with a ~zu~ at the end

Etoiles - エトワール　I don`t OP was wrong with エトアー but I found this other option that looked cool

And I dont know korean as well but based on what I`ve seen 악어/Acau- アカウ is correct

And after ALL that I just want to say that when it comes to Kana for personal names... There is actually pretty much NO rules, it`s a mess! Japanese is a veryy messy language when it comes to names of people/places/animals/foods

But, until a person actually officiates how they want their name to be written in Kana, it's best to just follow close to what's somewhat already standardize

QSMP Members in Japanese script!!

Soooo i saw some people doing the qsmp members names in other scripts and thought i'd join in :] i know how to read Japanese script (exept kanji ;-;) because i studied Japanese for a few years- be warned i forgot a lot of what i learned and my memory is pretty basic so this will definitely be very flawed im sure but i thought it'd be fun anyway!! bc i haven't touched japanese in a WHILE

i'll try not to infodump about the japanese writing system so i'll just say that these will be in katakana which is used to write foreign words!

Annon-Guy: Animals - Not counting werewolves, how do you feel about animal characters (that aren't anthropomorphic like Sonic the Hedgehog or Rocket Raccoon) being playable in fighting games? Examples include Amaterasu from Okami/Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 and Riptor from Killer Instinct.

Hmmmm... I wonder how I feel about them...?

All kidding aside, such characters aren't shown OFTEN ENOUGH!

From a technical standpoint, they are hard to animate/implement in fighting games, but that shouldn't stop developers from getting creative, now SHOULD IT?

Putting Dr. Paradigm in Strive would be a dream come true for some fans, I believe...

In the old days, Samurai Shodown 6 would also throw in hidden animal spirit characters as an extra character. There was even a time when Mamahaha and Shikuru even teamed up (a Hawk and a Wolf acting as a Single Fighting Team...)

scarlet background (part one)

Scarlet had been sitting on the couch of her house and was reading one of her books to pass the time. The children were at school, Linfan was working in her lab, and Mizi had been out of the house to do her own business. It was a calm day where she could just relax, but knowing this house, there was always something happening to keep things interesting. She looked at the clock to check the time when the children would return from school. It was still too early, so she just went back to her reading. After some time she heard the door opening, and the two children came in. Scarlet greeted them "Welcome back, I hope you had a nice day at school." Chara responded. "It was dumb and boring as always. I still don’t know why we have to go." The young fox still seemed annoyed at the concept of going to a human school.   Emily, the human child of Scarlet’s kids, seemed to be interested in something else. "You’ve been reading while we were at School?" She asked Scarlet, seeing the book in her hand. "Yes, I picked up this new book about old time stories, or how the writer had imagined it. It reminded me a bit of how it had been back then, but for better or for worse, it was not like the story I have been reading." She giggled trying to make it seem silly.   "How was it back then, if it was not like in the books?" Emily asked. Scarlet smiled. "I guess I could tell the story, while we wait for Mizi to return and Linfan to finish her work since dinner is already ready." Scarlet stood up. "Now you two go wash your hands and get ready for dinner." The children did so, with Emily returning later to Scarlet. Scarlet smiled and began. "In an age where people had Kings and Queens, where magic still existed but was nearing its end, as a lot of people viewed it as heresy. Most of them having only seen magic as witchcraft, and calling everyone that used that power a witch. The Powers of that time had created an Order that was specifically made to hunt down anyone that used this forbidden power, but they fought fire with fire, so most of the Order members had been humans that used magic. The most common magic had been one that reduced capability of magic use, but also reduced size, making it almost impossible to escape.” “But there had still been people that were learning about magic and ignoring all the risks and the fear of being locked away from everyone; with the promise of ultimate power or seeking of knowledge about everything, or just being curious about this mystic power that everyone had named as forbidden." She stopped for a bit to look at Emily again. Emily seemed to have become real curious and have been looking at scarlet, waiting for her to talk more about it Scarlet smiled when she saw this reaction “Well that has been the big picture of what has been going on. As for me I was around 20 when I had to leave my hometown. I was not hunted or captured because I was one of the few people that got curious whit magic. Since I stared from the beginning with little belongings it was quite hard. It is even harder when they only see you as a witch. Although I have been hiding it I am still trying to practice more of it. Because of that I have been marked by many as a witch and each time I have to defend myself, it just makes that more of them come to hunt me.” Scarlet took a little break and then a smile formed on her face. “I have always looked for the next place to stay, always on the run, until I have found a man with the same curiosity of magic like me. He had offered to help me, since he said that we have the same interests. And if we don't help each other none else will do. He was right and has been a great help. Learning from someone that is more experienced than me was really helpful. Unfortunately it did not last long, because members of the order made us change village again but with his help the move had been a lot easier. We were able to stay at a place much longer but after a long time we have finally gone our separate ways since our interests got too different over time. Each of us wanted to focus on a different topic of magic and after our separation I sadly have never seen him again.” Scarlet had to laugh, as she did another pause from the trip down her memories. “I am sure he had a quite good life even after our separation, but sometimes I wonder what happened whit him since we have not crossed roads again.” “My focus is still on surviving since there have been more order members around.It seems over the time they have been getting better at tracking. That or I have been using too much magic and made myself an easy target and never noticed it.

At some point I realized that running would no longer be an option and the need to fight would sooner or later arrive. So over the course of my research I have started to learn plenty of spells for fighting and protection. But if you have to deal with people that are trained fighting against magic you will need far more than common spells that everyone knows.”

“After some more searching around I had an idea for something new and maybe unique that can win me some fights or at least give me the upper hand for a little bit to make a difference. I have remembered a way how spells are crafted so I made one that would be my personal one. Little did I know how hard it would it be and that it would leave me something truly unique maybe a bit more than I wanted. But that can be a story of its own so maybe another time.”

“After I finished my crafting I have travelled again and reached a new village which seem to be alright to be able to stay for a while, especially after I have found out that the local castle has been empty and forgotten. I used it as a temporary home and I really got some time alone, at least that’s what I thought in the beginning.“

Sudden the door opens with Mizi who just returned home. “I am home!” she shouted and looked at Scarlet and Emily.

“Welcome back daughter.” Scarlet greeted her and looked at Emily “I guess we will have to leave the rest of the story for another time and I think this is a good time for stopping.” she smiled.

“Oh, ok but I hope you will do it soon!” Emily answered

“Can you go and call Linfan and Chara please? I will start preparing the food now.” Scarlet asked her child, who did it happily.
