#Sims 2 CC Hood

Papaya Island My BACC hood that I've been playing for the last few months. I haven't been following a strict rule set but I have my own subtle rules. I've been building up a lot, with the last build being a school. I have six families so far, a small townie pool. Town/Unowned com lots: School Town Hall Church&Cemetery Library Bank&Post Office Board Walk Beach/Tiki Bar Hotel/Spa/Wedding Venue Owned Businesses: Gym General Store Electronic Store Clothing Store Organic/Grown Food Store Car Lot/Garage Surf Shop/Beach wear store Veggie Fields Cop Shop/Detention Center (it's more of a city build but it's owned by the sheriff) On the list to build: Public Park/Festival Grounds Day Care Restaurant Salon Dance&Yoga Studio Bakery Laundry Mat Museum/Art Gallery Medical Building&Pharmacy(When a sim gets sick for the first time which unlocks the medical career) I need to unlock more sims and townies. I unlock a sim slot when a sim buys a new business (I currently have two slots but I'm saving them to make a family of four). I unlock a group of townies(4-5) for every 5 com lots(owned or unowned).

I don't have much of an "economy" built as I haven't yet implemented taxes, I plan to do that once I get my "mayor" to purchase the town hall once I get to their round, to which I'm planning to save to make either a downtown or a vacation hood that I want to build from scratch, it might cost around 100k or so, not sure yet. I've grown quite attached to this hood, it's the farthest I've gotten with a Build A City Challenge which I've always wanted to have. I plan to start using some form of spreadsheet which I want to make based on how others do theirs. I might post things here and there about it, weather it's my sims or it's the builds I do. 🪨 Desert Rocks 🌵

Hey, y'all! I was decorating Strangetown and felt bothered by the flatness and lack of scenery. I decided to take a shot at editing the colors on some of my favorite 4t2 rocks by @leoz94, and since they turned out good, I thought I'd share them with you today!

⚠️ You can't have both mine and leoz's in your game, so you must choose one (I'm sorry). I'd ideally like to have both, but I don't know how to do that at the moment.

These were made to match lordcrump's default desert terrain because that's what I use. I'm not sure how these would look with other ones. I'd be happy to make ones that match other defaults if it's requested/wanted. 💛

Pretersolaria Institute: CC-Free Uni & Individual Lots

Eventually I want to share the entirety of Rhyolite Valley, but it's a bit hairy with the 47 sims & CC hood deco & the garbage data I let seep in while playing (so I'd have to remake all of that before sharing).

I thought I'd "practice" the process of remaking the hood by starting a little smaller: The uni subhood. Since I only made a handful of sims for it (which are not included... yet) and it works aesthetically without CC hood deco. Sounds simple, right? Weelllll it took about a week of near daily effort to actually do. Makes the prospect of doing the actual hood soooo much more exciting lol /s

Anyway, that's what this is: A new university subhood template that's CLEAN & EMPTY. As a bonus (or if you just don't like the subhood), I've also included individual lot packages for every lot in the subhood to use wherever you want.

The "gimmick" of this hood is that Rhyolite Valley, and by extension Pretersolaria Institute, is entirely self-sufficient & cobbled together by the local residents. Which means there's no indoor plumbing lol.

That also means simply sitting down at a computer to write a term paper isn't as easy as a regular uni. Students have to go to THE BOOKMOBILE to access computers. Same goes for the skill building required for each semester/major. You have to venture out to the relevant community lot to find the means for skill building.

I've included in the uni's photo album & the lot descriptions which skills are available to build on each lot. It'll say "+Cooking" or whatever skill(s) the lot can provide based on the objects it has.

Place the "PRTR" folder in its entirety in the "Program Files > EA GAMES > The Sims 2 University > TSData > Res > NeighborhoodTemplate" directory. Or whatever equivalent location you have for a TS2 University folder in the Program Files section.

Mootilda's Subhood Selection Mod is required to see additional universities below the main 3 pre-made ones.

You can then select Pretersolaria Institute in the list of options when creating a new uni subhood in a neighborhood.

• On 2 lots (Big Heart Dude & Wiploc Amphitheatre), I used the Seasons Music career reward The Rock Hammer for speaker deco. I used MoveObjects to delete the guitar but keep the speakers.

It's possible that either A. The guitars will respawn when you move the lot in the hood, or B. Sims will attempt to play the guitar and complain about being blocked (because I purposely blocked them).

If the guitars respawn, open the lot in Buy/Build mode and with MoveObjects On use the sledgehammer tool to remove the guitar.

If sims are complaining about not being able to reach the guitar, well they're not supposed to be able to lol. If hearing them complain is annoying, you can either use this mod that makes them stop yelling when something blocks them and leaves only the thought bubble, or delete the whole object.

• The Wiploc Amphitheatre may also have some glitchy-looking ground that you can see in neighborhood view when the camera moves. This is because I shortened the lot with Lot Adjuster. I don't know how to make it stop doing that, because I've transferred the lot to other hoods, packaged the lot, Lot Cleaner'd it, Lot Compressor'd it, moved it to the Lots & Houses Bin, etc. and it has never stopped looking like that. So again if that annoys you, remove the lot I guess?

• Please let me know if there are any additional problems.

I've never done this before specifically with a uni subhood, so it's very likely I messed up somewhere.

TS2 [NoCC] Twikkii Island Boardwalk

This Twikkii Island Boardwalk is fully-furnished and decorated. The lot includes: Restaurant, Spa, Clothing Store, and Souvenir Shop! Additional food stall, sauna, and bathrooms.

I've play-tested this lot multiple times so there shouldn't be any issues, just keep in mind that this is a beachfront lot (4x5), and there are many spawners (11 total) on this lot- mainly for the restaurant. I tried to keep things light with the plants and deco.

Sims 2 Neighbourhood Pine Forest Defaults!

Hey friends, so I made these aaaages ago and never got around to uploading them because I was using things from other creators and wanted to make sure I had permission to share... and now, I do!

Lowedeus made these beautiful Shastakiss CS Pine Tree conversions into default replacements for the single hood pines HERE, with lovely seasonal snowy states.

I simply took their work, played in Blender and applied it to the pine forests, which I hadn't been able to find a good default replacement for. More pictures, technicals and download under the cut.

Technical Stuff:

I have slightly tweaked some of Lowedeus's original files, so I have included them in this download. Please let my files overwrite the originals or your trees might be funny coloured.

The forests pull their textures from the individual trees, so you will need to have all of the defaults in your game for them to work.

All credit for these goes to @shastakiss for the original conversions with snowy states, @lowedeus for those original, beautiful defaults that I have been using for years, and also shoutout to @lordcrumps who assisted me with creating these defaults and troubleshooting when the tree colours weren't right 😅❤️

3t2 Showtime Criminal: New Hood Deco

I've divided the Showtime criminal hideout rabbithole into three industrial buildings for your neighborhood!

Only the warehouse lights up at night, but you will need the Better Nightlife mod for it to display correctly.

These are highly detailed! Use sparingly if you're on an older computer. The warehouse is the PARENT mesh and the garage and the chemical tank are the child meshes. You'll find them in the Neighborhood Deco > Misc category.

Okay it actually took a little bit of searching to find enough defaults to make every pine tree in the game a season/snow-friendly version, so for my future self's convenience here's the list of links:

Something quick I converted for Saguaro Springs, my custom desert vacation hood in progress. Here she is looming over Belladonna Cove in my CC test game. Since there actually is a dinosaur statue like this in the real Palm Springs according to my searches for inspiration images, and since this also exists in the landscape of Oasis Springs in TS4, it was a must-have as I work on this hood!

I did of course find AFTER I quickly threw this together that someone else had already converted it, but their version was much smaller as you can see below. You can have both of them in your game if you’d like, mine is a totally separate item.
