chapter 1:

i think nightow is trying to kill us by showing so much of vash with his blonde hair... on the covers, in this flashback... blonde vash almost looks like a completely different character. but the only thing that changed was his hair... *unrolls list* and his clothes, and the haunted look in his eyes, and his will to live, and...

"that is how i lived my life"... he's mentally preparing himself to do the deed...

there are a lot of compositions in this chapter that i like, especially because vash's stark black color scheme is so cool, but i especially like watching legato zip around lol.

the earth ship crashed... uhh... is chronica okay? was her role in this story really to show up, fail to avenge domina, and then die?

knives smiling again!!! --but this time it's an evil smile!!! he genuinely looks cute here...

legato is over here waxing poetic about vash being his narrative foil as they have a fight to the death. i wouldn't expect anything else from him.

this next sequence... hmmm... i'm not really sure how to put this. the buildup to legato's death that doesn't come because vash doesn't pull the trigger... it would almost be funny if it wasn't so fucked up. like, even within the narrative itself, it's presented as if this is the time for him to die. he has a flashback, he waxes poetic about his death... and then in that moment... it doesn't happen. even after vash tried to steel himself earlier in the chapter.

i dunno... i'm just sad...

i don't know if this is another thing that nightow nabbed from the 98 anime - legato holding vash's friend(s) hostage to get him to shoot - but it's really SUCH a legato move... i said in my last post that legato is the most "the same" across the adaptations and he REALLY is. using the same tactic in the same scenario... "make your choice and break"...

but it's EVEN MORE fucked up than in 98 lol... when i said livio was gonna have an interesting time trying to stand up with the state his body was in i DID NOT THINK THIS WOULD HAPPEN!!! OKAY???

oh, but being afraid to scroll and being met with an image of wolfwood... wolfwood, fully visible...!! he was admittedly a sight for sore eyes in this dire scenario... even though he plays directly into the tragedy of this entire affair. vash has to shoot to save livio, who wolfwood gave his life for...

chapter 2:

oh jeez... whose voice is this? is this razlo? (there's no profanity, so maybe not...) livio talking to himself? or is it... wolfwood...?

and vash is now completely broken. his entire worldview, everything about how he's lived up until now, falling apart around him...

"did it feel like this for you, too?" hmmm... it flashes back to the scene with wolfwood, but in this moment i'm actually remembering meryl's words about how it felt when she shot someone for the first time.

...they successfully attached the cable to the ark, but i'm imagining knives feeling an itch and smacking it like a mosquito LOL

how to put this... i like that it's a kid's thoughts that get projected. because kids are kids... and they're a purer expression of human need than adults who can be caught up in bias or like, social expectations. if it had been an adult who got hit with the feather, things might have turned out differently, but it's a natural reaction for people to want to help a kid...? gah, i don't know how to word this!!

and it's interesting that the plants' attempt to communicate with humans also forces the humans to communicate with each other, because that's how plants communicate amongst themselves...

he's separate, but he can still... control it? like, he made it teleport, so he can still control it, right? at least to a degree...

yes, i like this, i like how it's not easy, i like how even though knives is in the wrong about pretty much everything and is just using plant abuse to justify his own actions, we're not just ignoring the fact that abuse did happen and needs to be addressed.

and yet, the plants also remember the good times. nightow is really good at distilling the full scope of human nature into vignettes like this...

huh? balance of primordial energy?! reigniting an age-old conflict?!?! dude, you can't just drop that on us without EXPANDING ON IT?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN??

chapter 4:

vash's... dream? is this a dream? or is it more literal, like he's on the verge of dying... so he sees all his dead acquaintances in the afterlife... but he can't join them yet, he still has something to do...

the earth guy (does he have a name?) praying before firing on the ark as if it will grant him absolution... lol. lmao, even. we've seen characters pray a few times over the course of this story, mostly wolfwood, and vash that one time... idr if anyone else prays? but this guy? this guy's prayer? i have to laugh.

he is fucking LUCKY that knives was able to block that. i also love the irony in knives's actions saving the people below.

that's so cool... i know i'm supposed to be like, "oh no, he's so powerful, that's scary, how will they beat him now?" but instead i'm just amazed at the sheer display of power LOL

what a gorgeous spread... the wings... jaw... teeth?! are so cool-looking...

meryl and milly are so resilient... it's been said a million times lol but they really do represent the best in humanity. it's a shame that they've gotten less screentime (page time?) in the latter half of the manga, but none of what relatively little they do get has felt wasted. staying strong and doing what they can... they're so cool...

uueeee... i'll cover the rest of the chapters in another post... usually when i do 2-part writeups i write both of them and post them one after another, but i haven't written part 2 yet... i'm delaying the inevitable because i know i'm going to cry reading the last couple of chapters again lmao...

I love chapter 42 so much!✨️✨️✨️

It's so nice to see Suguru and Yuuji bonding even though the reason for it is so tragic... like, I am glad Suguru finally sees Yuuji as a person and that Yuuji can feel safe around someone, but I wish the reason wasn't Sukuna ruining everyone's lives because he's a drama queen.

Nobara getting ready to attack Sugur in Higurama's name is so sweet of her. Like, you really captured the essence of her character in that one scene!💖

Well, they're finally putting together the pieces of the puzzle and it doesn't look nice at all... At least now they're all kind of on the same page about Mahito, Hajime and Kenjaku.

Toji is right about blaming Sukuna. Like, I understand why Yuuji feels guilty (he is a precious bean and also 10), but I hope his family can convince him that getting possessed by an asshole doesn't mean you're guilty for his actions.

The conversation between Nanami and Sukuna was so interesting! I love how Sukuna overshares and monologues, I am certain spending however many years he spent all by himself did not help his social skills. Like, he is dropping so many hints about his tragic backstory: the psychological torture comments, the whole "sucks to be the strongest", the no longer having a soul, there is nothing good in this world anymore, the Yuu-Ji thing as well. Once I finish my final exam I will try to put together a theory because all I can do right now is rotate everything in my mind.

Sukuna's opinion on humanity is very interesting. I like how you gave him complex thoughts on human nature and a philosophy of his own. It's really great how you gave both him and Kenjaku ideologies that tie into the themes of the story instead of the classic "I am evil, always have been, always will be". Like, even though Kenjaku is irredeemable at least he is motivated by something. And if Sukuna is going to get forcefully added to the found family he needs some toxic beliefs to let go of.

Yuuji and Megumi make me so sad, but at least the bullying Sukuna club is there to make it better.

"There's nothing good left in the world!" This is Uraume slander. Like, I can't believe Sukuna is saying this while his bestie is still out there... smh. I get that he needs to drop hints about his tragic backstory in the most dramatic fashion, but he could be more considerate.😔

Nanami's second conversation with Sukuna was also interesting... Sukuna really says a lot of concerning stuff out of nowhere that makes zero sense without context and he seems less than willing to provide context. The one policy that he's no longer interested in is such and interesting thing and I am glad Nanami doesn't let him avoid the subject. Like, he managed to back the King of Curses into a corner! Good for him!

WAHH NOBARA AND HIGURUMA...they're making progress too, even if they're less open about it.

yeah, you could really see the puzzle pieces fitting together in that first scene huh? the poor fam realizing with mounting horror that this has all been planned for years...at least they figured out it isn't really getou's fault, and now they, for the most part, know who they're up against. though they definitely do not see who "yuuji's mother" is coming. toji's so right, sukuna's at fault here too

BRO THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN NANAMI AND SUKUNA WAS SO FUN TO WRITE. plus it was really fun to explore sukuna's potential thoughts on humanity in a compelling way since we know so little about his canon psyche. he deserves a philosophy of his own and weird, offputting takes on human nature!! plus i personally think evil because it's fun isnt quite as intriguing as evil because it's satisfying

regarding uraume...stay tuned, because THAT is gonna be crazy. i promise he didn't forget about them. he couldn't even if he tried. i'll leave it at that for now

WINGS OF FIRE BOOK 15 THOUGHT BITS

major spoilers for the book, this isn't in order of as these things occur i am just thinking :P I LOVED the book btw I love Wings of Fire so much; before the tidbits, here's something from me:

People can sit and complain about all the minute details and inconsistencies and continuity errors, but wings of fire is a wonderful series with wonderfully written characters, who, at times aren’t the best, but the writing has its moments and overall, it is a great series

i love these characters, i loved getting to live through their eyes and see all of it wings of fire is a lovely little world and even with needed worldbuilding, it's amazing, it's so interesting with what we have and the content the fandom produces is enough proof of that.

being mlm in boygroup kpop fandom is literally so exhausting. 99% of the people who ship real life human men from boygroups are fetishists and i will tell u why

obviously we all know of a ship in a fandom where the characters' personalities are twisted to fit the heteronormative view of "top" and "bottom" --one character is hypermasculine (top) and the other one is feminine (bottom). there are typical traits associated with both. the ‘top’ is scary or mean or angry or serious while the ‘bottom’ is emotional or bubbly or shy. while this is egregious, at least its fictional characters. their personalities can be simplified or exaggerated and it doesnt cause any real life harm.

im going to define what i think of as a fetishist: a non-mlm person who overly sexualizes gay men/men they think are gay/gay ships, and forces them into heteronormative roles for their own pleasure. its not even limited to cishet women. plenty of non-mlm lgbt people do this too and its like disheartening. so anyways

enter the kpop fandom

i may be incredibly biased here because one of the most affected members [of bts] is my favorite kpop boy, but oh god is the ‘personality change/simplification’ thing AWFUL here. i do not go out of my way to find fanart or see fanfic threads, but being in the bts fandom, u will inevitably see it and i REALLY wish i didnt

so anyways. my favorite boy ever is hoseok. he is sweet and hardworking and very passionate about dance and he can be serious when needed, but ultimately he tries to be very lighthearted and will consistently laugh or make jokes or do something funny when the other members feel uncomfortable or awkward (mostly during english-speaking interviews). he kisses the members on the cheek a lot/hugs them a lot/cuddles them a lot [this is important for later okay]

of course, theres a lot more to him because he is a multi-faceted real life human being, and i don’t know him personally, but that’s a general idea of what he’s like, okay?

SHIPPERS will have you think differently. some video got popular on youtube ""proving"" that hoseok is a sadist (which is just clips of him jokingly playfighting with the younger members), and the video depicts him as secretly mean and serious, and shippers will use that to say "hoseok is a total top!" and then most fanart or imagines or fanfic threads you see are top!hoseok, using this imagined 'hoseok is a sadistic dom' narrative to fuel their fiction, because SOMEONE has to be the top, so they twist him into this hypermasculine mean person (and probably feminize the 'bottom' of their ship but more on that later)

EXCEPT it is not just fiction. this narrative bleeds into REAL LIFE. you have new armys who dont know anything about the shipping scene, and yet somehow the narrative of hoseok being a secretly mean, sadistic person has already made its way into them. in real life, hoseok likes rainbows and wearing nail stickers and putting glitter in his hair. yet people in the fandom will say shit like "hoseok hates femininity" "hoseok would never wear [thing] because he's a dom"

sometimes on twitter you have ppl like me who say uh actually you guys are really weird and this is fetishy and in real life hoseok is very nice and not sadistic at all, you will UNDOUBTEDLY get comments like "omg hoseok isnt cute/nice when will yall learn he’s secretly like [x] and [x]". you could post a video of hoseok with a puppy titled "wow cute" and u will get like 2 clowns in ur comments going 'hoseok isnt CUTE hes a sadist’ . i wish i was joking but i am not. they will do this for EVERY action hoseok does. he cannot blink without people twisting it into a sexual thing

ANY time hoseok or yoongi do ANYTHING together at ALL, people will ALWAYS push the narrative that hoseok, being the mean sadist he is, is 'hurting' yoongi for not returning his undying love or whatever. hoseok did a vlive where he made bracelets for all the members and he considered putting a cat charm on yoongi's but ultimately decided not to because he was having difficulty and oh my GOD sope stans twisted it into 'hoseok HATES yoongi, yoongi would have been so happy, he would have worn that all the time, hoseok isnt affectionate he hates being close with other people after all :(' which is LITERALLY not true because hoseok gives all his homies good night kisses but okay! whatever fits your narrative!

you have tons of armys that theorize that hoseok's happiness is just a mask he puts on to hide a cruel nature. on twitter. on youtube. in fanart and fanfiction. you have tons of armys that truly believe that, despite literally all the evidence, believe he hates being cute, he hates being happy, he hates the members, and hes secretly a dom daddy fuckboy who wants to bend yoongi over a table. hes a real life human being and fetishists doing their fetish thing has real life consequences.

(In which the gang welcomes Donggu to the show by playing in mud, doing quizzes about literature and eating delicious food)

Here we go~

- everyone wanting to be on the same team as Donggu ajhbfdaih (Taehyun sneakily hooking arms with him first my heart 💘 “I won’t let you go~“ 💘💘)

- Donggu has a lot of training devices at home, good to know~ 

- Ahh this is just me speaking but I don’t want them to show abs (>_<) Jongmin why did you do that?? dafadfuhad

- Donggu being a little mean and stealing the bulky ones for his team but losing them because he was too confident in the interview (Taehyun sneakily joining his team adfbhbgf)

- He considers loosing on purpose because he wants to use the triple bicycle ahhh how is he so cute??

- Taehyun’s entrance hahadsbad and the dramatic editing of Donggu getting beaten up by Defconn ajdfahfb (“pathological liar” hahaha)

- Junho running away from Jongmin and tagging the wrong team adfbaf

- this entire segment is so chaotic and violent and silly and I feel sorry for the poor referee (>w<)💕

marti and nico are both soft, we all know that.

this one is for nico though.♡

i want to talk about nico’s softness for once. it has touched me tremendously. while he’s full of energy and ideas, he carries this emotional strength inside of him that i find inspiring.

there are  characters i love and admire for their badassness, for their   confidence, and for their determination. and when i see softness under   all these attributes, you can bet your ass that i won’t shut up about   it. especially, when softness is ultimately the prominent attribute a character is made of. sometimes i think softness is underrated, when in  reality, it’s one of the most badass attributes in the world (in my humble opinion).

it starts right from the beginning. first look at  nico and he just stands there talking to some guy outside of school and then greeting sana. sure, we see him from afar through marti's eyes,  but he looks like the softest bean, ever smiling while talking. nico has the most genuine smile. that’s how we meet him.

his first words to marti though? “why did you stop?” and that look.  you can see he’s flustered, because he’s talking to this boy he already is so keen on!! (my headcanon is that he didn’t stare back at marti outside of school (i guess he didn’t see him. who knows) nor during the   radio meeting, cause nico wears his heart on his sleeve, alright? just   re-watch niccolò [for instance]. marti is oblivious sometimes).  anyway. during the whole talk he’s happy, so soft, like he’s begging  for attention in the most adorable way: being cute with the boy who got his  attention immediately. and then they talk on the terrace where he  hopes they can be alone for a while and they are, and nico asks  questions, carefully checks out marti. he glances at marti every now  and then even when emma arrives and he’s all flustered again when they  sit in silence, the three of them. head down, head up *look* *blushes*  head down again. touching his hands nervously, tapping his feet to an  imaginary beat.

when he sees marti on the bus, he stands up at once. ‘wahh, there’s this cute boy again i can’t stop thinking about. quick, talk to him. be suave.’ and he is, but he’s also shy. alas.

of course he’ll help out marti and “lend” him some weed.

he  draws skulls, but also giraffes and i see softness there, too. he crafts his own things. little experiments. he has brushes and drawing utensils all over his room. there's an ukulele on his shelf. and just outside of his room, there's a piano waiting for him. i imagine him playing the softest tunes (some celtic music?) even when he's upset. maybe. but what stands out is that he’s artsy. his room looks soft, too.  light yellow curtains, pastel-ish walls and wooden furniture.

he  cooks carbonara for them and it’s a disaster, but hey, he’s already so soft for   marti, he’s gotta try, alright? and when he tells marti he put honey in the pasta while he was on his phone... well, even though he's obviously  jealous here, he's soft. his little shake of the head? a puppy who was  denied attention.

he’s soft when he touches his lip after he gives the headphones back. hey babe, seems like the guys don’t know what’s up. it’s okay. i’m saving your ass with a white lie, no biggie. call me maybe?

during  sylvia’s party he’s hurting on the couch when marti and emma leave to  dance. re-watch the scene and look how soft he still is while hurting!!  nervously playing with his fingers again, looking defeated. it hurts  me. because after he lashed out (at emma and said some dumb stuff to marti), he tries to gather himself on the couch. he’s introverted, but he tries, okay!!

the infamous pinky touch, yeah. of course. he gazes at marti softly after his joke while marti starts gazing at the night sky. and then he extends his pinky. his ringfinger trembles. have   mercy. and when marti looks at him, nico looks at their hands, as if to  say: this is real, alright? i’m gonna make a move right now, you   can’t stop me. but i’m also asking for permission with this gesture, okay??? he wears an earnest look on his face when he moves in. marti smiles and then, nico smiles, too. soft boyfriends in the making.

“why not? we can go together if you want?” (...) “okAy?“ “okay.” “OKAY!!”

well,  during the talk with the girls on halloween, nico is moping. softly. he’s also hurting after maddalena berates him on the drinking. but when  the girls are gone, he’s back on his soft ass, pointing out that his   and marti’s glasses are in the same position. nope, i didn’t make that   up.

[while i never like it when people ditch people (or try to   kiss ‘em) in order to go for someone else, i have forgiven nico. i have forgiven them both. nico was already so soft for marti and when i look at the outcome of this/their story, when i look at how things  turned out, i’m certain it was inevitable. and because i am soft for their   love, i am able to forgive them.]

i find   nico’s suggestion to go to his place and take his bike for a ride   soft?? excuse me, what a wonderful idea! and while they’re driving he   looks content. bless. i’m thinking he really loves his bike. (does he   take his bike for a ride on a regular basis?) when they arrive at their location, he takes his time to park it thoroughly, i mean.

his "undress, or you won’t have a chance at beating me" it’s soft. especially the way he says “undress.” his voice is like an octave higher, but it’s not shrill. it’s calm and steady.

he’s soft when he’s challenging marti “ah-ah”

he’s soft when he starts tickling marti underwater, never losing his smile.

he’s soft when he keeps his promise that he won’t touch marti this time and then instantly grasps marti’s head when he’s being kissed.

he’s   soft when they lose themselves in their kiss and he holds marti’s   ellbow and then supports him when he pushes for the surface.

when they wake up in his bed, he’s gazing at marti, embracing him carefully like he’s fragile goods. waking him up with a sweet kiss. nuzzling his nose. bringing them breakfast. tracing a coffe heart on his arm.   goddamn.

and when we witness his vulnerability, it’s so palpable. he lets us see. he lets marti see. he’s open and soft and i just want   to wrap him in a blanket and give him a hot beverage, telling him   everything’s okay. it’s okay being soft, it’s okay being vulnerable.   here, have a cookie, too. take care of yourself, you soft, soft soul.

he's  so very soft, because he hangs up a red thread of fate for marti to   follow. he already left, but he makes sure that marti will wake up with a smile at least, leaving him little notes to read. he tells marti how cute he  looked sleeping. ufff. he tells marti to have breakfast. he wants to  take care of marti even though he can't be there with him when he wakes  up.

he nervously plays with his hands (again) when marti arrives  for their secret meeting. i love that detail, but it also makes me  sad. i think he’s soft when he notices marti’s upset that he didn’t  text earlier and he tries to make it up. he reaches out with caution,  touches him on the shoulder, showing his affection while saying sorry.

“i want to be with you. don’t you want to be with me?” he whispers, especially the question. goosebumps. he’s so gentle here. and brave. because his display of vulnerability   is out in the open. he wants to go all in, even if that could mean to   be rejected. nico fears rejection.

something that touched me deeply is when he realizes  what marti’s words could possibly mean. he doesn’t get angry. no, he just continues listening and even though a part of him shatters into tiny pieces right there in the school bathroom of the second floor, he doesn’t let it show. he smiles at marti and goes in for a kiss. a good-bye kiss if you want. look at his eyes and tell me you didn’t feel   his pain. his eyes say so much in this scene, it fucks me up. i have trouble breathing watching it. eff you, rocco. this scene belongs to you  entirely.

and then they leave the bathroom giggling and he  kisses marti’s neck. even though marti hurt him to the bone with his  words, he doesn’t want to leave (him) in anger.

he’s soft when  he meets marti after his recording for the radio. he pretends  everything’s alright, but we all know it isnt. marti can’t see it, but  we can. nico makes a joke, tries to get his attention, tries to  apologize, tries to make him see how much he misses him. i’m very  sorry, okay? please believe me!? we could go up to the terrace again  some time. maybe i'm brave enough to explain myself. but marti’s  wrapped up in his own hurt (understandable) and he doesn’t see. nico  tries so hard to reach out, but it just wouldn’t work.

he’s a  soft soul when he hides a strip cartoon on post-its (how long did he  work on that?) in nico’s backpack, asking him to hold on for him, look  out for him, because he’s trying to figure it all out. he’s a soft soul  when he hides the antidote in marti’s dictionary, telling him that he  misses him. “davvero.” and that he understands that he’s not easy to handle, but that he’s working on it. just wait for me a little longer, please?, he asks him and hopes that marti will hear him after he didn’t see how sorry he was at the radio. maybe words will get through to him.

he’s  soft when he takes marti’s words to heart and works on figuring out   how to talk to him. how to get to him. cause marti’s in bracciano. he’s all soft when he’s standing in front of him when they finally reunite. he smiles shyly and looks down at his feet.

he’s  soft when they wake up the next morning and it’s marti asleep on his   chest. he’s soft when he tries to make him understand that it isn’t easy  to leave a relationship like he has/had with maddalena. that he wants   to figure out by himself what he feels and duh, isn’t it obvious, amore mio? you know what i feel, don’t play hard to get. but it’s okay,   i’ll serenade you anyway. i sing to you while planting little kisses on  your lips and face, and grazing my thumbs over your cheeks. i’m  holding you like this, because you mean so much to me and i don’t want  to lose you again. do you understand?

he feels sorry that  the boys haven't had a comfortable night while him and marti where  sharing a bed. so of course he proposes to take them out for breakfast.  it's the least he can do.

he’s soft when he’s thrilled that  marti’s about to meet his mom. he’s soft when he apoligizes later,  because that didn’t go so well. he’s soft when he asks for him to wait  outside of school so  they can walk in together. he covers marti's eyes  and asks him "who am i?" he'd love a kiss, but marti's not  ready for pda. that's okay though, he'll wait. he’s soft even when he’s hyper  and wants to escape the real world. after all, he wants to escape  together with martino. only with him.

he’s soft when he kisses  him on the cheek when they take a selfie on the train. he happily  shares little kisses and smiles here and there in the streets of milano  and on the balcony of their rented apartement. he’s cheeky, but also  soft when he steals a kiss from marti in front of the red neon light.  and he’s so very soft when he kisses marti’s heart. when they're  standing with naked torsi in front of each other, he kisses marti's  heart. just like that. he's soft when he shows marti his utter happiness during the red scene of love. always smiling, breathing him in. he  gently asks marti if he can take that last piece of sushi. and right before he runs off into the cold night, he looks at marti with this broken look, but he says “it’s only you and me.“ he always thinks about marti. even in a moment like that.

he’s  soft because it probably took him hours to draw a giraffe on his   mobile phone from the last century. he softly tells marti that his   heart isn’t the one betraying his feelings. it’s his brain. he tries to make marti understand that, even though he must have felt ashamed.   he’s soft, because he still keeps reaching out to him.

he softly   underlines this statement by telling him that he’s on the terrace where they more or less met and that he’s thinking of him. that he’s fallen   in love with him, but that he doubts that marti will believe him. he’s   so very open and soft and brave in that moment. he really is. and he   stays there for what? yes, he stays there for hours thinking about   marti. because he knows he’s in one of those shining lights he can see   from up there. i imagine that makes him a bit less sad.

and when   marti finally understands and reaches the terrace, he does not hide his vulnerability. it’s not as if he is able to. nico can’t quite grasp   that marti really came for him. but marti’s answers with his own piece   of softness and so he lets himself fall into his embrace.

he’s vulnerable when he struggles with marti’s devotion to make him feel better.  he’s brave when he lets marti in and he lets himself be soft with him  even though he’s not feeling well. he would never turn down marti's  kisses on the nose. because he's soft for marti and marti deserves soft  kisses on the nose, too.

he’s soft when he asks how marti’s exams went. his exhaustion doesn’t stop him from thinking about marti’s life.

he’s  soft in his braveness. he will kiss marti good-bye. he doesn’t care where. he doesn’t care who could see. all he wants his a good-bye kiss and a promise to talk later.

he’s soft when he comes up with an idea how to help the boys. he’s soft when he tells luchì that he could still be the first one to talk to sofi. he gazes at marti when the boys  leave the kitchen. heart eyes at its finest.

he’s soft when he tells marti that his mother wants to meet him again. that she’s sorry. maybe that’s even a metaphor for him still being sorry for everything he’s put marti through, so he thinks. he cautiously checks if marti’s sure “si?” you’ll come over tomorrow to meet my mom? you sure?

he gives the softest panettone flavoured kisses. they both do.

he’s soft for marti taking care of him. it’s all in his eyes. in his body language.

he softly admits defeat when marti tells him he’ll flush down the weed. because marti knows it’s not good for him. and in the end, he appreciates   it.

he fell hard for marti when they talked in the radio booth  for the first time, separated by glass. and now, that they both got rid  of that barrier together, he falls even harder for marti with every  day, because marti wants to be with him no matter what (happend in the  past).

so, imagine, if nico hadn’t be soft on so many occasions.  imagine. would marti x nico have overcome their misunderstandings,  their [own] barriers? would they be together now?

nico could have  just let marti go after they talked in the school bathroom. but he was  already so far gone for marti, he held on to the hope that marti didn’t  really mean what he said. if nico just showed him how much he cared  for him and that his mental illness didn’t hinder his love for him,  that it was all real for him, one day marti could love him, too, no?

who  would have blamed him, if nico hadn’t tried again with marti after this?  but he did. for deep inside of him, there lingers a softness that asks  him to try again. with marti. with life in general. he could give up so  easily, and maybe he thought about dismissing his emotions and turning  cold in the process, but he tries and tries and tries. nico doesn’t  give up, he always tries again. it touched me deeply.

season two  was about martino, and i have so much love for his character in my  heart, i could write endless essays about it. but nico? if marti is  soft, so is he. it was all there in the open for us to see. it was in  the little moments and details, in the silly moments and in the ‘grand  gestures.’ nico’s softness was visible, but it was so very palpabale,  too; i swear i could feel it in my own bones when i followed him on  screen. and i’m so incredibly glad, that in spite of all those  struggles, i could witness him grow bit by bit, reaching acceptance  step by step.

so, in conclusion:

being soft is not a  weakness, on the contrary, it’s brave being soft. it's brave being  gentle and open. and it's brave trying to continue being soft even when  things look bad. especially then.

nico embodies that to the bone. and for that he has my ♡

i  wish there were more people in the world who also carry softness in their heart besides their strength like nico. perhaps i haven’t paid enough attention in the last months. i know those people are out there.  they have always been existing. and they will continue to. i know that.  so perhaps this hasn’t been a wake-up call on a personal level, but  more of a reminder. i can say this now with conviction after seaosn two   ended, i know i needed it. it evoked a lot of memories, feelings, and   well, hopes. i have seen a little bit of nico in myself. i hope i can rediscover my own softness. and i hope i can be as brave as nico one day, as brave as all the nicos in the world. i see you. even more clearly now and you all have my ♡ truly

Considering I normally just write what I feel like and have uploaded lots of my work elsewhere.ahaha ignore meeee

I’ll write for MM because, hell, it’s cute and I feel like cute today okay not at all because you’re a MM blog and wanted a good chance you’d like reading what I wrote

just beware because I swear bunches and am writing this for giggles, and also I’ve never written for this fandom be gentle

4. “I’m too sober for this.”(Where MC isn’t paired with anyone, but you’ve still had the party and finally met the RFA face-to-face. Trying to avoid spoilers for anyone who hasn’t completed particular routes.)

It was a small get-together - just you and the RFA members meeting up for a nice celebratory dinner. It was a shame that V couldn’t make it, but he was grateful for the invitation. You were so relieved to have helped make the party a success, although you didn’t want to take a lot of credit. Everyone chipped in and put in so much hard work that, really, it made you proud to be a member of such a wonderful, kind of dysfunctional family.

Then you all sat down.

Zen got pretty defensive when Jumin commented on this “commoner establishment.”

This was a place that you had picked out, have some respect; don’t worry that it doesn’t meet his ridiculous standards, he’s just a stupid trust fund kid; babe, he’s calling me shallow, I’m too handsome to be anything like that materialistic bastard!

At this point, you were waiting for them to start pulling on each other’s pigtails to fuel all of the fanfiction people were writing about them. You very pointedly suggested seats that put them far enough to avoid physical violence. “No glaring at the dinner table.” They still continued to provoke each other, but at that point you’re glad they’re not making a scene.

No, you wouldn’t let Yoosung play a handheld at the table. Mostly because you forgot yours and wanted him to suffer with you. You said that talking with everyone can be fun too.

“Well… playing video games with everyone would be even better!”

For the love of…

“Especially when I wreck you,” Seven snickered, poking Yoosung’s face.

Of course he took the bait. “What?! No way, I’ll totally own you! Name the game and the time!”

“Mario Kart, an hour before your curfew, you cute widdle baby~” You hadn’t realized a person could literally talk in tildes, and then there was Seven.

“You’re barely older than me!”

Oops, maybe Jumin and Zen weren’t the only ones who needed to be separated.

You told them you’d wreck them both decided to be the adult here.

But, that’s right! Jaehee was here! This woman was a godsend, able to wrangle the most intimidating of business reports into submission! And she knew judo? Hell yeah! You could count on everything remaining under control with this badass at the helm!

…she looked so exhausted though. That’s right, it had taken a lot of convincing (both for her and Jumin) to escape paperwork hell. And you were going to enlist her help in babysitting all of these dorks? Oh, you couldn’t do that to this poor soul. Mama Jaehee needed a night off too.

“I don’t understand why we are eating here. I have chefs at home who would cook whatever dish you desired.”

“I swear, every time you open your mouth, I have to ask myself whether going to jail is worth it! It gets harder each time!”

“Ohoho, that’s what she said~”

“Seven, come on, that one’s not even clever…”

“Clever girl~”

“Don’t.”

Jumin was describing the fancier, more expensive lunch he had earlier that day with Elizabeth the 3rd. Zen was trying to ignore him, caught a waitress’ eye across the restaurant, and nearly made her run into a doorframe with a smile-wink-combo. Yoosung was “sneakily” playing his game under the table, and you let him because he promised to give you a turn. You didn’t notice Seven had stolen everyone’s napkins to make origami cats until his army was being sent to capture the entire table.

When your order was finally taken you asked if someone would drive you home later, and after being offered cars and a rocketship and even a piggyback ride, it’s Jaehee that inquired, “But, why do you ask?”

“I’m too sober for this.”

“Ah,” she responded. Then she added a drink to her order too. “Same,” she thought.

Zen is all for this development! “Well, you can count me in, babe. I just hope you don’t get too handsy with me, or I won’t be able to contain the beast…” Cue more winking.

Deadpan, Jumin responded, “Are you rabid? A beast that presents a safety hazard to society should be put down.”

“Wahh,” Yoosung cut in, “can we please not talk about putting down animals?!”

“Yeah!” Seven stood up. “Don’t! Talk about! Sad things! Around! The baby!” And he clapped for each pause, this man was a living breathing meme and there was no stopping him. So much for not making a scene.

As Yoosung argued about not being a baby, Jaehee accepted the wine glass handed her and downed it in one go. Zen was impressed. And he wasn’t going to be outdone, but then he started choking.

“Children,” she muttered.

“Yeah,” you agreed, an exasperated smile growing. “But they’re all my children, so.”

What a wonderful, dysfunctional family you had.

When Seven tried to ruin the moment with Bee movie quotes, you told them all, “But if you guys don’t cut the shit out, I swear to god I’m going to hang out with that Unknown guy because at least he seems to have some chill.”

“What the fuck,” Unknown blurted out, hiding in a nearby ficus.

11. “Dear Diary, …”

The moment you heard Seven start cackling, you knew you were going to regret inviting him over.

Regret turned to horror when he began, voice loud and singsong, “ ‘Dear Diary, today I actually cleaned up the apartment!’ ”

He was standing in your living room, on your sofa, with his shoes on, reading out of your personal diary, and you didn’t even care if you didn’t get away with his murder.

“ ‘But! Hold your applause! Because I also… put on people clothes! And I look pretty damn fine, if I do say so myself–’ ”

You lunged. He leapt over the back, whooping with glee. The chase was on!

Once you managed to convince him to skirt around the couch, you tried to leap over it just as dramatically, and faceplanted - thankfully on the cushions, but still, that hurt your dignity. And then he was sitting on your back, effectively preventing you from getting up and clobbering him.

“Seven! Get off!”

“ 'I hope you’re not a police officer, Diary, because I’ve got Fine written all over me!’ Aww, there’s even a little winkie face! Ooh, is that a list of pick-up lines I see? Were you waiting to use these on little ol’ me?”

“Seven, I mean it–”

“ 'You must be Jamaican, because Jamaican me crazy.’ Ooh, that one’s old but gold.”

“They’re pick-up lines, not throw-down lines–ouch!”

“Ahh, don’t hurt me, master! OW okay that one really hurt.”

“Then stop being a brat and let go–”

“And lose this comedic gold? God Seven will never let this go! I must spread this gospel!”

“AGH I’M NOT YOOSUNG OKAY I WILL END YOU!”

Some time later, after you’d reclaimed your property and handled the irritated police officer called out from noise complaints, Seven came out of your kitchen to find you still pouting on the sofa.

“I hate you,” you moaned.

“Your complaint has been filed and sent to God Seven, and–” He lifted his arms to form an “x” in front of him, declaring, “Hate denied! You must forgive him and smile!”

“Not a chance.”

“Come onnnn…”

“Go away.”

He brought a hand to his chin, as if contemplating a serious matter. Eventually, he nodded several times to himself, then made a pose he had literally ripped from the anime you two were watching earlier.

“Then you leave me no choice! I will have to use… my secret weapon!”

You arched an eyebrow.

Grinning, he sang, “You can come with me to see Elly~”

“…are you suggesting I join you in hacking through Jumin’s security, sneaking past all of his bodyguards, and breaking into his home, to pet his cat?”

“Someone sounds interested…”

You stared.

Hard.

“…dammit Seven, why do you know me so well?”

You threw a pillow at him when he mimicked Karin’s pose and laugh from Street Fighter V.

Kind of like how Jumin threw the two of you out that evening. He was seriously considering the restraining order this time.

These got so out of hand so fast ahaha. Hope they’re mildly entertaining?

My thoughts while watching 2 days 1 night #121

The other admins already saw a few episodes of 2d1n so I need to catch up... and today became the starting point ✨

I started just a little before they got to Donggu’s house so that’s where we’ll start now too~

- the crew falling in love with training devices and joking about the old lady being the new member was really funny!

- ahhh it looks like such a pretty neighbourhood and the house looks nice too~

- Donggu just scurrying back and forth as the others pack his things, eats his food and makes him drink salty drinks ajfadfb so cute!!

- and he just casually greeted Taehyun in the midst of everything, saying that he’s a fan agh 💘 

- Jongmin acting out that scene from Donggu’s drama - I really like when people do things like that but did you have to choose that scene? (>w<)

- this is the first time I’m seeing Siyoon winning that award for the baking drama, and seeing him cry made me tear up a little (;^;)

- sajhdfais his confidence though

- how is he so lucky?? both with choosing the money and avoiding the trap in the first round of rock-paper-scissors... I get a little sad though that they only became nice when he got them money, I want to give him a hug (>_<)💗

- he thought the stickers on the car were cute daifnhifh

- his touching story made them stop bickering for a second and then they saw a noodle shop and lost focus immediately seriously

- they all fell asleep? Poor Donggu~

- “He’s so good to order around” haha Junho you’re so mean!

- aww they shared some food with him 💖

- that’s some harsh rules adfhbdiaf precious Donggu looks so lost

- oh he finally caught on to the trap!

- Joonyoung being really arrogant when fetching the water haha

- oh my goodness not the salt water again - but he still drinks it!

- Taehyun plotting againts Defconn immediately after he leaves but Donggu being too honest to go through with it (I love him~)

- Joonyoung stealing Jongmin’s straw how cute~

- Donggu is so brave for wanting to overcome his fear of water... and adorable when talking about books~ (I need to look “Song of the sword” up!)

- wahh there’s beaches with sand made of shells? And mud pools? (also it feels kind of wrong to see this when it’s Christmas soon haha)

- pshh what do you mean “enjoy the view”? I’m not looking anywhere
