Sonic Zone Location Sorting - Help Appreciated!

Hello all! Because I’m a nerd and insane, I decided to undertake a project which itself is just preparation for a potential bigger project. I have created a document collecting and sorting all Sonic zones by their island, landmass, or other location, covering every game and other media that could conceivably be considered canon to the main series. But I didn’t just cover the levels, I also covered all the various cutscenes whenever possible. I’ll admit, some corners were cut from time to time, but it’s overall extremely comprehensive.

This is where anyone reading comes in, if you feel like you have any intuition where certain zones go, are in any way well-versed on Sonic lore lol, or otherwise just wanna share your thoughts or critiques on my current placements, I would really appreciate it if you comment on the document and give your two cents on where some locations go or should be placed.

This was all done in potential preparation for a Minecraft map project that I thought would be interesting where I attempt to recreate the locations in sonic games in as close to a 1:1 scale as possible on one map. Obviously this would be huge, and may never happen. In any case, having a comprehensive list of all the zones is cool enough, but if anyone is interested in such a project, let me know and perhaps we could discuss working on it.

🚨 I OUTSMARTED SHADOW'S GRAVITY 🚨 Shadow finally learned moon gravity 🌕

Yeah sooo… I broke the “most polished” Sonic fan game again. This time? Shadow forgot how gravity works. Like completely. He started moon-jumping like he’s in zero-G on the ARK.

👀 What happened? I skipped the booster and camera trigger using a clean little movement trick. Normally, this section launches you straight into a tube—no freedom, no turning back. BUT... I slipped past it.

Shadow entered the tube manually by triggering only the edge of the hitbox. The game got SO confused, it gave me the boost physics… but without locking control. Now he just auto-runs forward… forever. And jumps like he’s on the moon.

Shadow’s just drifting through life now. The game said “tube,” he said “nah, I’m orbiting Saturn.”

You ever sit down and suddenly remember the Sonic RPG Flash series by BlackDevilX?

I played those as a kid—and they hit different.

Like… they weren’t just fangames. They were chaos-fueled, sprite-based, dramatic-as-heck RPG sagas.

Sonic fighting alongside Goku? Chaos Emerald transformations? Battle music that slapped??

It was peak Flash-era greatness.

But after Flash died, everything went quiet. BlackDevilX disappeared. Episode 10 never came.

And no one’s really brought that vibe back.

And I miss it.

I don’t just want a remake—I want more games like that.

More Sonic RPGs that embrace the wild, the edgy, the “what if Shadow went Super AND turned evil” energy.

💫 How Classic Sonic REALLY Got to Forces — The Phantom Ruby Timeline Fix 🌀

You know how everyone just kinda shrugs off how Classic Sonic shows up in Sonic Forces like, “lol, another dimension ig 🤷‍♂️”?

NAH. I got a better theory.

Let’s start from the beginning—Sonic Generations. Yeah, the birthday game where Time Eater tries to ruin everything.

🧠 Phase 1: Eggman & Classic Eggman Found Something

After Generations, we know both Eggmans teamed up.

But what if, instead of splitting, they stuck together for a while?

They were trying to locate a powerful relic... something beyond time: 👉 The Phantom Ruby.

🤖 Phase 2: Sonic Mania’s Secret Setup

In Sonic Mania, Classic Sonic is vibing back in his timeline, and suddenly—BOOM— Hard-Boiled Heavies and Eggman find the Ruby.

Where did it come from? 🌀 From the timeline meddling that happened in Generations. The Time Eater fractured reality, and the Phantom Ruby slipped through the cracks.

📌 The Ruby was drawn to Eggman—like a magnet to chaos. 📌 The Heavies? Part of a subroutine from Eggman’s robots sent to hunt it down. 📌 Sonic? Just caught in the middle.

🔥 Phase 3: Sonic Mania’s Ending is Forces’ Beginning

After defeating Egg Reverie and reclaiming the Ruby, Classic Sonic is pulled into a final portal.

Where does it lead?

👉 Straight into the war-torn world of Sonic Forces.

Not a coincidence. That portal wasn’t random—it was the Ruby returning to its last known “master”...

🥁 Modern Eggman.

But Modern Eggman is like “?? tf is this rock again??” Because it's been YEARS. He doesn’t remember the Ruby, doesn't recognize Sonic looking all chibi again, and just assumes “okay new threat cool.”

Alright, brace yourselves because I’m about to drop a HUGE bombshell. 💥 I was digging through the deepest corners of the internet, as usual, when I stumbled across something that completely blew my mind.

I FOUND A SECRET SONIC GENERATIONS PORT FOR THE WII U. 😱

Yes, you read that right. This is not a drill. There was a secret, never-released port of Sonic Generations for the Wii U, and it got scrapped before anyone could even play it! This port was supposed to be an exclusive release in 2014, with off-TV play, Miiverse support, and some crazy exclusive challenge stages. But for reasons that remain a mystery, it was pulled from shelves and forgotten.

But here’s the kicker: I found it.

Well, kinda.

I was snooping around and found an old, broken web page that had all the details — but here’s the thing, the page is a mess.
