Who’s Barth?

  Captain Welter Barth is the Captain of the Military Intelligence Department. With origin and citizenship of Din he is a man loyal to his nation.He’s 24 years old, and with a body rigorously trained reaching strength,he takes his job as a captain seriously and scoffs directly anyone who disregards the power level of Din’s military.

In fact he senses that any spy team,with Lamplight particularly,gets to much praise for their work -while the soldiers and military officers risk their lifes on the war front.He’s a man of action,also an understanding* one who uses his rhetoric skills to boost the spirits of fellow soldiers.

He and Klaus have known each other a long ago,they don’t get along!

*He has a sixth sense on sensing the troubles up ahead,thus he read the malice coming from while Annette: "There is a great evil at work here, Bonfire--someone so wicked their soul is twisted to its core."

ANIME RECAP: LE NEWS SONO ANCHE DENTRO LE UOVA DI PASQUA QUEST'ANNO

Trailer e annunci su serie e film estivi e autunnali, in arrivo anche su Crunchyroll, Disney+ e Netflix!

Ve lo avevo anticipato e alla fine il nuovo ANIME RECAP è arrivato! Come sempre trovate un po' di tutto, fra promo, locandine, date e annunci di sequel e non.

Stavolta nel mix delle novità più recenti ho incluso anche notizie un pochino più datate, che erano passate in secondo piano, durante la valanga infinita di news del periodo AnimeJapan. Cominciamo subito con un po' di KyoAni goodness. 😍

🔶🔸 SOUND! EUPHONIUM: CONTEST ENSEMBLE

Il nuovo OAV uscirà nei cinema giapponesi il 4 agosto. La terza stagione dell'anime è tuttora confermata per il 2024.

Le prime due stagioni della serie sono su Crunchyroll, mentre il film spinoff Liz e l’Uccellino Azzurro è arrivato in Italia grazie ad Anime Factory.

 La serie animata, tratta dalla light novel di Takemachi, tornerà a partire da luglio con una seconda stagione.

La terza stagione dell'anime sbarcherà su Crunchyroll a partire da ottobre.

VI ricordo che la serie è ora disponibile sulla piattaforma anche doppiata in italiano.

L'arco narrativo del Christmas Showdown, che potete guardare in streaming su Disney+, si è concluso confermando un altro sequel per la serie. Il capitolo Tenjiku non ha ancora un periodo di debutto.

La prima stagione dell'anime è disponibile su Crunchyroll, anche doppiata in italiano.

L'anime tratto dal nuovo manga di Akira Amano (Tutor Hitman Reborn!, ēlDLIVE), edito qua in Italia da J-POP Manga, sbarcherà in tv ad ottobre.

L'originale webserie targata TATSUNOKO PRODUCTION (Kiratto Pri☆chan, King of Prism) approderà anche al cinema con un film, annunciato per il prossimo inverno.

L'anime è realizzato in computer grafica e attualmente conta 7 episodi più uno che fa da prologo, pubblicati su YouTube.

La fantasy comedy, basata sulla light novel di Nozomu Mochitsuki, comincerà ad andare in onda a partire da ottobre. 

🔶🔸SWEET REINCARNATION

Nuovo trailer per la serie isekai fantasy slice of life, tratta dalla light novel di Nozomu Koryu, che debutterà in Giappone a luglio.

🔶🔸I'M GIVING THE DISGRACED NOBLE LADY I RESCUED A CRASH COURSE IN NAUGHTINESS: I'LL SPOIL HER WITH DELICACIES AND STYLE TO MAKE HER THE HAPPIEST WOMAN IN THE WORLD 

La commedia fantasy slice of life, dal titolo inutilmente lungo e tratta dalla light novel di Sametaro Fukada, andrà in onda da ottobre.

L'adattamento è diretto dal debuttante Takashi Asami ed è in produzione presso gli studi ZERO-G (Isekai Farming - Vita contadina in un altro mondo) e Digital Network Animation.

🔶🔸PHOENIX: EDEN17

Svelati una prima locandina e un secondo promo per il nuovo adattamento animato de LA FENICE, uno dei classici firmati dal grande Osamu Tezuka.

La webserie targata STUDIO 4℃ (I Figli del Mare, La Fortuna di Nikuko) dovrebbe uscire su Disney+ nel corso dell'anno, ma ad ora non ha una data.

🔶🔸 CLASSROOM FOR HEROES

La serie action school fantasy, basata sulla light novel firmata da Shin Araki, l’autore di GJ Club, verrà trasmessa a partire da luglio.

L'anime è diretto da Keiichiro Kawaguchi, lo stesso regista di Spy Classroom, che fra l'altro come vi ho già detto tornerà anch'esso sempre proprio nella stagione estiva, ma è prodotto presso lo studio ACTAS (Princess Principal).

🔶🔸TENPURU - NO ONE CAN LIVE IN LONELINESS

La trasposizione televisiva della commedia romantica, nata dalla mente Kimitake Yoshioka (illustratore del manga GRAND BLUE di Kenji Inoue), sbarcherà in simulcast su Crunchyroll a luglio.

Il secondo progetto deLa serie è Questo è il secondo progetto per il neonato studio GEKKO e alla regia c'è Kazuomi Koga (Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible). 

🔶🔸KENGAN ASHURA

La seconda stagione della serie, tratta dal manga di Yabako Sandrovich (How heavy are the dumbbells you lift?) e Daromeon, edito in Italia da Planet Manga, arriverà su Netflix a settembre.

🔶🔸ULTRAMAN

Fissato il periodo d'uscita anche per la terza e ultima stagione della serie, che verrà finalmente aggiunta su Netflix dall'11 maggio.

La storia dell'anima parte dall’omonimo manga di Eichi Shimizu e Tomohiro Shimoguchi (Linebarrels of Iron), tuttora in corso e edito qua da noi da Star Comics, ma devia dalla trama originale e dalla seconda stagione ne segue una alternativa. 

Il fumetto si ispira alle gesta dello storico supereroe protagonista della popolare serie tokusatsu anni ‘60 di Tsuburaya Productions e ne costituisce il sequel.

🔶🔸SAND LAND

Film d'animazione tratto dall'omonimo manga one-shot, firmato dal leggendario Akira Toriyama, verrà proiettato nelle sale giapponesi dal 18 agosto.

La pellicola è diretta da Toshihisa Yokoshima e in lavorazione presso gli studi SUNRISE, ANIMA e KAMIKAZE DOUGA.

🔶🔸FLUFFY PARADISE

Inizialmente previsto per quest'anno (ma poi sappiamo il casino che è successo con certe serie), il debutto in tv della serie ispirata all’omonima avventura fantasy slice of life di Himawari, è stato spostato, con mia poca sorpresa, al 2024.

L'anime è in cantiere presso EMT Squared (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear) e ha come regista il debuttante Jun'ichi Kitamura.

Detective Conan/DCMK characters in a Classroom of the Elite setting would be so interesting to watch/read.

I've only just finished the CoTE anime (Seasons 1-3) so i haven't read the manga or the light novel but the Advanced Nurturing Highschool or AHNS for short is so, so shady. If it and the White Room existed in the DCMK universe, I have no doubt in my mind that they would have some connection to the Black Organization.

So just imagine an AU where Shinichi caught Vodka doing an arms deal in middle school but didn't get caught by Gin like in canon. Imagine him trying to investigate them but coming up with nothing until he, Ran, and Sonoko are on a train ride for the first day at AHNS where he runs into Gin and Vodka, just like he did in canon episode 5.

He learns their codenames there and saves the people on the train from being bombed to hell. Unfortunately, this ends up making him, Ran and Sonoko late for their very first day. They're thankfully excused because the incident was out of their hands before being placed into their respective classes.

You can have adult characters like Jodie and Amuro be teachers and business owners while also acting as undercover agents.

Important student characters at the school:

Hattori Heiji (he can be in the same class as Shinichi where they are both antagonistic at first but later become allies and friends)

Toyama Kazuha (they were made for each, I will never seperate them)

Kuroba Kaito (who also happens to be Kaitou KID and regularly sneaks off school campus for heists. Jii Konosuke cases places for him and he contacts the man using a secret phone he smuggled in. He tends to downplay his academic and physical skill to be somewhat average so he's in Class C or B)

Nakamori Aoko

Akako Koizumi (no magic in this AU but she's interested in spirituality and shit like tarot cards and all)

Hakuba Saguru (suspects of Kaito of being KId and regularaly requests time off from school to go to the heists)

Eisuke Hondou (but only for a little while near the end of 1st year as a rival for Shinichi and love interest for Ran before going back to America to pursue the future he wanted)

Sera Masumi (would be introduced in 2nd Year when Shinichi starts investigating Bourbon as a potential subject because she somehow found out he has connection to the maker of the pill that shrunk her mother)

Important characters outside of school

Agasa Hiroshi (supplies Shinichi with spy tech)

Haibara Ai AKA Miyano Shiho (shrunken and lives with Agasa just like in canon, specifically sought Agasa out because he was a connection to Shinichi, who was involved in her sister's case and was a detective at that. They contact each other through secret phone. She also happens to be one of the failed subjects of the white room)

Miyano Akemi (During school break, Shinichi went back to Beika where he was then approached by Masami Hiroto and the rest goes like canon with her dying in his arms)

Akai Shuichi (still don't know what I'm gonna do with him but he's important)

Rena Mizunashi AKA Hidemi Hondou

Side Characters in school

Nakamichi (Shinichi's soccer friend)

Eisuke Aizawa (Shinichi's soccer friend)

Kazumi Tsukamoto (a third year in Ran's karate club)

Tashiro (Ran's friend)

Anyways, I imagine Shinichi being in a different class from Ran and Sonoko and just thinking about ShinRan competeing but also saving each other's asses from time to time is beautiful.

Having Kaito and Shinichi's respective Black Organization be one and the same would make it more interesting as well.

Anyways, I think these characters are fun to play around with in this setting, mixing the dramatic school life in CoTE with the looming threat of the Black Organization as Shinichi delves deeper and deeper into the case.

Idk how this would be resolved but it would be so, so fun to read if written well. Shinichi's gonna be so paranoid by the end of this lol.

Reign of the Seven Spellblades Is Not As Generic As It Seems, Trust Me

Shout out to spy classroom for being a seinen Light Novel series about a teacher teaching an all girls class and NOT being a harem, plus making it explicitly clear that the teacher is not interested in any of the students.

For giving the female characters actual autonomy outside of Klaus (the teacher)

For Having an adult character known for their sexuality while also treating them like a complex human being with their own interpersonal struggles and not just not slut shaming her, but treat her skills with negotiation as a vital aspect to the team.

For Actually having evil female villains without justifying their actions or making them waifus

For Having an Aromantic protagonist who expresses his sexuality in a relatable (and totally memable) way. (also the teacher)

(And Having a character with social anxiety who isn’t treated like an uwu baby all the time)

You could easily say some of this is the bare minimum, and you’d be right. But we definitely need more light novels series in the seinen genre that have good female and queer representation. And anime (especially light novels) do not have a good reputation for the former. I’m not saying that Spy Classroom is the pinnacle of how women should be written, but it’s definitely pretty good in that regard.

The anime needs some work though.

Nomination Review: Klaus from Spy Classroom

Confirmed in episode 11 as aromantic. He states that he's never felt romantic attraction towards anyone, but still feels familial love. Klaus also doesn't think of sex much and attempts to flirt with him are often missed/ignored.

Verdict: Denied/Pending further evidence

I looked up the character and on the character wiki it specified that there are attempts to "seduce" him sexually that he ignores & that other characters are shown experiencing sexual attraction frequently whereas he is not. That said, in this screenshot it's only specifically aromantic here so I’m reviewing it further.

Edit: Upon further review all wording used in the light novels and anime I could find references romantic attraction specifically. In this case I would have to say he is only canonically aromantic. If there is further evidence inside the show/light novels or said by a creator showing he is aroace I will update the nominations accordingly but otherwise I am not including him as the wording is specific in this manner.

Day 97: Spy Classroom

Type: Anime/Light Novel

Spoilers, I guess.

One of those shows where it feels like they made the plot up as they went.

Episode 1 starts off with seven incompetent spies who need to get trained quickly for an important mission.

We skip all the training and go straight to that mission, where it turns out there was an eighth girl all along.

After they succeed, we then go back to see them train.

This is half of the show. The other one is some weird romance plot while also being on a spy mission.

Then last episode, they hit you with a plot twist which will never get resolved and honestly, I don't care.

Was a fun watch though. And Secret Code is my new favorite ED

Honestly if you loved the spy classroom anime, the light novel are going to be an absolute blast. Even the Manga too! I cannot recommend it enough

Also the pacing issues are fixed it the light novel. If that did bother you

I know the light novel is good, I have heard praises only and other people have also recommended it to me.

Tbh I had no problems with the pacing in the anime and loved the anime ❤. I'm just more of an anime watcher and usually only read the manga if more seasons aren't confirmed (tho I haven't gotten around to reading akayona manga).

That's why I didn't read spy x family manga either eventhough I know that's awesome too. And it's the same reason for spy classroom. I'm excited for season 2 ❤.

I'm not much of a manga reader person and I only read chapters of detective conan sometimes and have read some parts of kaguya sama once.
