It should be illegal for an employer to force you to stand during your job. I'll just fucking say it. There should be NO allowances for "company policy" on this. If a worker can successfully do their job SITTING DOWN there is NO reason to force them to stand.

#I haven't gotten a schedule. but im apparently in the system#the manager told me yesterday i could come in then or today or tomorrow to do my computer training#and i said i would come today#but then he said the internet was down#so i asked him earlier if its back up. he said no#he said i could go to another store to do it if i want#the thing is. i need to work#im about to be gone for 4 days this weekend#and i would like to transfer from this store anyway. so i feel like i should be open to doing my computer work at a different store#bc i dont even want to be at this store in the first place. and im supposed to be asking about transferring at some point#but the only other store i know people at is the other one i trained at#and i dont have their numbers to let them know im coming#and im ANXIOUS#ig i could just walk into any store and say hey i need to log in and do my computer work. but i dont want to#i could wait and see if the internet is back up tomorrow#or monday#but i only have til Tuesday to work until im on a short vacation#i want to be cooperative but im really anxious about just going to a different store#idk what to do im so stressed

#y’all wanna hear something wild? for context i live in texas lol. but also this is a lot of american rn.#basically: this started with my gf’s department manager having a sick kid and getting sick too. this was a few days ago she said to nic#that because her son is autistic -she blames vaccines btw! - so she doesn’t get him any preventative flu shots or vaccines.#and she herself (who’s brought covid to the store 4 times) said and i quote ‘i’m a republican so i don’t make my son mask and i wont mask’#and? i find that actually insane. she said that to my gf right before my gf brought that home and we both got sick#but i have also gotten covid from this woman who won’t stay home and passes it on to coworkers#my gf masks at work! i dont go anywhere and my immune system is so wrecked that anytime one of her coworkers is ill#one of us ends up at the dr and we both end up sick#but literally how fucking inconsiderate can someone be good god#tw ignorance#josie talks

Himman and Summiya#the latter of whom just happens to be Zaheer’s older sister#but he ran away from home years before these two were born so he most likely isn’t even aware of their existence#I mean. I’m sure he suspects his sisters had children. but that’s the extent of what he knows#anyway#quite a few headcanons came to mind as I was drawing so I’m gonna type them out while I can still function#(haven’t slept for two nights in a row. I’m starting to doubt whether I’m actually alive or not)#Liba is older by about a year but once they grow up a little it’s barely noticeable and people assume they’re twins#over time they stop bothering to correct them because really. they’re so close they might as well be#they were both burn with port wine stain birthmarks on their faces. much to their mother’s dismay#she has a whole perfectionism complex and needed her children to reflect that to maintain the family image#thus they were taught how to hide the marks early on. but the powder makes them constantly sneeze#liba is very self conscious about it bc of what her mother put in her head. Abyan less so bc while he’s expected to be perfect#his future doesn’t depend on his looks. he always tries to comfort his sister whenever she spirals too deep. no matter that she’s older#when no one is around to hear he calls her Lili <3 it annoyed her at first so she dubbed him Yanyan in retaliation#but over time they both grew to love the nicknames and now use them unironically#they’re the ultimate partners in crime. their goal? gaining as much freedom from their mother as possible#and sooner or later they will manage to do so permanently. which will make Summiya fall apart. but that is currently Kat’s domain#speaking of. hi Kat. I know you’ve already seen this in pencil but look! I coloured them!!#the birthmarks were both kinda annoying and rather fun to do. maybe I’ll change them later. I was too tired to look at refs so I improvised#and there’s no detail in clothing since again. 0 energy whatsoever. but once I refine their full body designs I shall go all out#that reminds me I need to go collect my new sketchbook. might do it on the way home from the store#okay I’m getting distracted. is this my very unsubtle way of trying to influence Kat to write that Summiya fic?#maybe. maybe not. you can’t prove anything 😁

#luka.txt#job tag#we had a mini blackout at work#which fucked w our systems#so my manager couldnt log into the self check out#and the registers couldnt take cards#OF COURSE this all happened right before i left#and the guy i was checking out didnt speak english very well so it was hard explain everything to him#and a line was forming#and my manager was on the other register so i had to wait for her to finish#ooihh my god it was just a Mess and i was very Overstimulated#i was there from 2:30-8 i just wanted to go home#AND THEN the site used to clock in/out wasnt working#i just left at that point like I opened tomorrow ill deal with it then#ugh i OPEN tomorrow fuck. gotta deal w that bs at 9am in the morning#bc lord knows these dumbasses are gonna come back at the buttfuck of dawn for their returns 🙄😒#sometimes i wanna quit#and/or find a new job#but i do like it most of the time#abd what a pain itd be to learn a new store#plus i like my coworkers#SIGH. why couldnt i have been born on earth i and work at emorys library. sir. save me. rn.

Don't have to work tomorrow
#its good bc i didn't want to have to go in so early or work 3 days in a row#but its also frustrating and annoying#bc apparently they dont have a trainer scheduled tomorrow . even tho i was told last week to come in tomorrow#but its a whole mess bc ive talked to a hundred different managers#and my manager just said he wasn't aware i was coming to his store 😐#great bestie bc i wasnt either !!#i interviewed with a manager at a different store than i had applied to. and then was told i was hired by a different manager#and idek which store she works at#and then she told me to work 3 training shifts at one store (not the one i applied to or interviewed at)#and then switch to a different store which is apparently where im staying . not the one i applied to or interviewed at or began training at#and when i showed up to start training at the temporary location. that manager (a whole new guy) wasnt expecting me#and now ive done 3 training shifts and had 1 day off and yet still for some reason im not in the system so i cant do my computer work#and then i figured i should clarify the shifts at the apparently permanent location and that manager (another whole new guy)#doesnt have a trainer scheduled . and says that he didn't know i was coming. i assume he found out on monday#when i showed up to train. and tha guy didn't know i was coming. so i told him i had talked to x and she said i would work at x store#when i got the call from this woman ive never met and idk where she works. she said she was talking to 2 of us about being hired#so i kinda think perhaps the person i interviewed with liked me and this other person . and decided to hire us both#and now they have to figure out where to put me. which is at least nice that they want to give me a job lol#but why am i the one getting thrown around stores#also why did the district manager call and text me today and then not answer when i tried to get back to him. sorry i dont answer my phone#its a job it gives me money its a job it gives me money its a job it gives me money its a job it gives me money its a job it gives me money#🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏#ughhhh

#i spent 40 euros to send me host mom from spain some flowers but she would’ve had to pick them up in store#the store should have MESSAGED HER to come get a delivery 😀 BUT I JUST CHECKED MY EMAIL AND APPARENTLY IT SAID IT WAS STILL WAITINF TO BE#PICKED IP 20 HOURS AGO#like ‘oh reminder to pick up your order before the store closes in 30 minutes’#IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SURPRISE I SHOULDNT HAVE HAD TO TXT HER TO PICK ANYTHING UP THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO TELL HER#but now the store is closed sunday and they’ll be wilted by the time she can get them on monday#if she can even get them at all money since she goes to work before the store opens and they’ll close before she gets back#fuck my life that was $45 spent trying to show our thanks to her just down the drain#i fucking hate spanish businesses. i still haven’t heard back from goddamn renfe about getting my $65 back from their system glitch#-> okay i decided to just send her a message like hey did you get a message from this florist yesterday abt a surprise for you to pick up?#hope you managed to get it!#if she says no they didn’t contact her at all i’m gonna fucking lose it#like. my mom is paying me back for this so it’s not money out of my pocket but that’s not the problem#the problem is that we just wanted to express our gratitude for this sweet woman for taking care of me for 5 weeks#and order some lovely flowers for her#and if they just straight up didn’t tell her????#it was her name and number entered for the pick up info… they should have TOLD HER. What I was taught growing up: Wild edible plants and animals were just so naturally abundant that the indigenous people of my area, namely western Washington state, didn't have to develop agriculture and could just easily forage/hunt for all their needs.
The first pebble in what would become a landslide: Native peoples practiced intentional fire, which kept the trees from growing over the camas praire.
The next: PNW native peoples intentionally planted and cultivated forest gardens, and we can still see the increase in biodiversity where these gardens were today.
The next: We have an oak prairie savanna ecosystem that was intentionally maintained via intentional fire (which they were banned from doing for like, 100 years and we're just now starting to do again), and this ecosystem is disappearing as Douglas firs spread, invasive species take over, and land is turned into European-style agricultural systems.
The Land Slide: Actually, the native peoples had a complex agricultural and food processing system that allowed them to meet all their needs throughout the year, including storing food for the long, wet, dark winter. They collected a wide variety of plant foods (along with the salmon, deer, and other animals they hunted), from seaweeds to roots to berries, and they also managed these food systems via not only burning, but pruning, weeding, planting, digging/tilling, selectively harvesting root crops so that smaller ones were left behind to grow and the biggest were left to reseed, and careful harvesting at particular times for each species that both ensured their perennial (!) crops would continue thriving and that harvest occurred at the best time for the best quality food. American settlers were willfully ignorant of the complex agricultural system, because being thus allowed them to claim the land wasn't being used. Native peoples were actively managing the ecosystem to produce their food, in a sustainable manner that increased biodiversity, thus benefiting not only themselves but other species as well.
