I've noticed quite a few similarities between Susan Murphy & Dr. Cockroach from "Monsters vs. Aliens" and Donatello Hamato & April O'Neil from "Rise of The TMNT"
Note: I am fully aware that these pairings are platonic. I just adore them anyway.
1. They almost always paired up together.
Seriously, the likelihood of these two being paired up in their respective shows was always so high, despite how short the shows were.
2. *stares in absolute awe*
These are the same looks!
3. Besties with the best bonds!
Despite how different they are, their respective friendships are incredibly close.
4. Down for the Science Shenanigans!
Susan and April are quite supportive of Dr. C and Donnie's science shenanigans.
Except if they go WAY too far with it.
5. Sick of the Science Shenanigans!
Despite trying to tone down on the science for their respective besties, Dr. C and Donnie just can't help themselves.
Which absolutely leads to Susan and April becoming quite angry with them.
6. Saving him from some incredibly wild situations.
Susan and April often end up saving Dr. C and Donnie from some pretty crazy stuff.
Usually their own inventions or an incredibly powerful enemy.
7. Being there to help her out.
Although not as common as her coming in to save him, Dr. C and Donnie will try their best to protect Susan and April, as well as help them up when they're down.
Although they're not the best when it comes to physical aid, Dr. C and Donnie always come through for their girls with SCIENCE!
8. The things he'll do for her.
Dr. C and Donnie will basically do pretty anything for Susan and April.
Dr. C spend over a month trying to help Susan shrink back down before their first mission.
Donnie came through with the "Donnie Blocker" on April's phone that ended up saving her from being hypnotized.
9. Admires how strong and powerful she is.
It's absolutely no secret that both Dr. C and Donnie admire how strong and powerful Susan and April are.
It especially love it when she's so confident in herself and her abilities.
10. Emotional and physical support.
They absolutely come through with the support when they're respective besties need it.
Love them both so very much!!

I don't know if this was always mentioned, but I personally headcannon Daroach, being the charming gentleman thief he is, likes to playfully flirt with Susie from time to time. Either to steal something from her, or just to mess with her.
Gentleman thief vs Business woman just seems like a fun dynamic to play with!
Anon, I am shaking your hand...!
Yes, I think they have a potentially wonderful dynamic and ought to interact WAY more than they do! Red and Pink. Grey and White. Rich business woman and literal RAT MAN. (Both "ice" themed too.)
...Not to mention that before she was a CEO, Susie fashioned herself as a "corporate spy" working against her father! Spy vs Thief, anyone? She may know some tricks of her own from that particular skillset! And boy, wouldn't THAT be a fun conversation to listen in on!
(And yet you can see how they would have completely different outtakes on life, too! Business and order versus the free life of a phantom thief! A woman who is always looking centuries forward technology-wise vs a rat man who acts and dresses like he's from an 18th century crime novel, including fantasy steampunk tech.)
Now, I'm one of the odd ones who sees *most* of the cast as adults, including those that others don't (it's a personal attachment / investment + wanting to see more spectrum-coded adults in fiction thing) but I can appreciate the fun of having the ones who feel the most "inarguably adult" have a little playful "strictly business" flirting!
-
Not that the ask was specifically about shipping as much as simply how Daroach talks to her (and lets be honest, guy probably flirts w/ MOST people) but when it comes to actual -interest-/sexuality HC, I enjoy me some (Dark) Metaroach and ZanSusie, but those two are at LEAST bi! I feel they can have a little ship tease!/lh
-
Edit: Right as I was sending this post to the queue, my brain whispered “Why do they need to be messing with EACH OTHER when they could COOPERATE?” And floated me a mental picture of some one-shot evil corporation that Daroach and Susie have BOTH infiltrated separately (in disguise) to get dirt on, only to run into each other, recognize each other, and are encouraged to cooperate to get what they need!
…Kirby expanded cast animeeeeee…

💜Heyyy this is monster like human love!💜
I tried my best to depict Doctor C. as a human as best as I could, heh. And yes I do ship those two, ok? Please leave me be with this.

What if the Monsters end up accidentally going back in time to the 1950s and while the others have to stay hidden in like this abandoned building to try and figure out what happened, Susan is perfectly capable of going out and getting what they need. In the weeks it takes to get back to their own time, Susan meets human Dr Cockroach, and even though there’s something oddly familiar about him she has no idea that it’s really him. Every day when she goes out to get supplies they end up meeting up and talking for a bit and they have this kind of flirtation-ship thing going on. She says goodbye to Human!Doc before Roach!Doc manages to send them back.
And then when they’re all back home and everything’s normal, Doc’s perusing through his old picture and memories and he says that visiting the 50s gave him this nostalgic feeling, and Susan remarks that she wished she could have seen him. He pulls out a picture of his adult, human self and Susan recognizes him immediately and while everything finally made sense to her in that moment she’s also immensely concerned and confused because she realizes she had just spent almost a month blatantly flirting with Dr. Cockroach.

OMG...This would make for an excellent fanfic!! Do you mind if I use this idea for a future fanfic project?? /)Q///W///Q(\

These three girls I adore have a few things in common!
They WILL fight or try to hurt aliens who are noticeably stronger than they are...
They attract guys who they aren't interested in and/or the guys turn out to be awful, clingy and/or weird.
And my absolute favorite....
They have incredible bonds with super geniuses who are also great dancers!
Anything else I missed?

Observing some camra footage on Doc's homemade super computer for a mission.
"Hey! Thats the jerk who triped me!"
The poor Doc is trying to contain himself being that close to Susan while working.

I had this realization about Dr. Cockroach, And I think he molts like real cockroachs do. And perhaps this would be a little painful, Not to mention he would be vulnerable after sheding his ectoskin...
Another mindframe I have is that Susan would be the first person to know about his condition, They're both human mutants after all.
Made a drawing of Susan comforting Doc after telling her about his mutations post side effects.
