Let's Play Some $#!7!: Wandersong - Intro

Come join me for another installment of Let’s Play Some $#!7 | LPS$! Initially, I was going to do another Let’s Play Some Demos | LPSD stream, until I noticed I own Wandersong on itch.io! For a year! And had forgotten! So I quickly removed it from my Steam wishlist, downloaded it, and played it! I don’t remember how I was introduced to it, but I was reminded of its existence by another streamer/YouTuber. It looked like fun! And it was fun! Until it wasn’t. The game looks AMAZING! And it was such fun to play… I quit when I started feeling like an ass about not being able to figure out a puzzle. After I had been singing its praises the entire time.

Welcome to Part 2, of the Let's Try To Finish Demos! | FD mini-series, where I try to finish as many of the demos played during Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD videos as I can (so I can finally uninstall them and make some space) in 4 hours-ish!

Welcome to Elderfield from Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 21 Welcome to Elderfield is a spooky farming RPG. You can farm, fish, mine, cook, craft, befriend townsfolk, beseech the old gods, investigate mysteries, watch unsettling news programs, get lost in the dead mall, die in your sleep and more. There's lots to do in Elderfield!

Come join me for another installment of Let's Play Some $#!7! | LPS$, where I play games to provide commentary to educate on game development, to show why they can take years to make, to prevent another stressful Cyberpunk 2077 launch scenario! Provided I don't get too caught up in the game to comment, which, in a sense, is commentary in and of itself. Today, we tried to finish playing ATRI: My Dear Moments' demo! Check out when I first tried the demo here, TIMESTAMP - 7:23, and the first mini-review! I had to cut them short so the video didn't get to 4 hours long. ATRI: My Dear Moments by Frontwing & 枕 - Available "'As the world sank, I found you.' In the near future, a sudden and unexplained sea rise has left much of human civilization underwater. In a little town slowly being enveloped by the ocean, an unforgettable summer is about to begin for a boy and a mysterious robot girl… Now, I didn't call this stream Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD because I want this game. After I get it, it'll be a regular feature on the show. With all that out of the way, here is a quick word, until I feel like saying something more later on: I was laughing my ASS off today! And getting annoyed. This is BASICALLY I, Robot, but this time Sunny is named Atri, Sunny looks like a cute, teenage girl, and Sunny gets to experience life.

Welcome to Part 1, the Pilot, of the Let's Try To Finish Demos! | FD mini-series, where I try to finish as many of the demos played during Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD videos as I can (so I can finally uninstall them and make some space) in 4 hours-ish!

Since there's an Amazon Blackout going on this week, I won't be streaming on Twitch for a while. A move I can make since I've been participating in #SubOffTwitch since it first kicked off. Instead, I'm going to be streaming it into The Titans' Discord while recording the video for YouTube! It'll be my first attempt, so expect some technical issues. Today, we'll be continuing our playthrough of Dex by Dreadlocks Ltd! It was first introduced to The Weekend Game Show | WGS via Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 7! Check out Part 1 here! Here's a bit about it: "Dex is a 2D, side-scrolling, open-world cyberpunk RPG with a focus on exploration and non-linear gameplay." They ain't lyin' about the "non-linear". Something I should have mentioned in the last part, that I didn't know about because I wasn't paying attention, Dex is rated M, for Mature 17+, by the ESRB for Violence, Blood, Sexual Content, Drug References, and Strong Language. Welcome to Part 22 of the Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD series! For those who are new, I aim to introduce gamers to, usually, Indie games and to provide commentary and feedback on the games for educational purposes! In addition, with how saturated Steam is, let's get these indie games some attention, shall we (and the occasional AAA game I think isn't getting enough attention)? For this episode, I used some of the demos I had grabbed from the Myths & Legends Steam Event!

RULES! Typically, there are 4 demos. Each demo gets 30 minutes, not including the adjustment of settings and character creation. I might up it to 5 and/or play a great game for longer if there are technical issues. Or a demo finishes before the timer goes off. And NO AI's spit, aka. plagiarism laundering.

Today, I played 4 demos for your enjoyment:

Crowncity by Haon Games - Coming Soon To Early Access Planned Release Date: November 2025 Building and managing a late medieval city is a series of challenges. Build wells to provide drinking water, markets to provide bread and food, and theaters to collect performance tax. Stage mode continues an interesting story and journey, random map mode fills each game with a new experience.

Dungeon Alchemist by Briganti - Early Access Game Dungeon Alchemist is mapmaking software for tabletop RPG's that enables you to make amazing, high-quality maps in seconds!

Parliament of Hell 1796 by Perfect Crime Games - Coming soon Parliament of Hell is a horror comedy adventure game set in 18th century England. Young gothic poet Matthew has been forced to serve in Government by his Father. He will get himself kicked out by any means necessary, even if he must call on the Devil himself…

Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars by Square Enix - Available Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars is an RPG set in a world of swords and sorcery, told entirely through the medium of cards.

Overall, I want Crowncity and Voice of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars, and they are on my wishlist.

PART 1 - Let's Play Some $#!7!: Dex

Come join me for another installment of Let's Play Some $#!7! | LPS$, where I play games to provide commentary to educate on game development to prevent another stressful Cyberpunk 2077 launch scenario! Provided I don't get too caught up in the game to comment, which, in a sense, is commentary in and of itself. Today, we began a new playthrough of Dex! The game was first introduced to The Weekend Game Show | WGS via Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 7! I wanted to play to the point where the demo ended before the stream began, but I realized Saturday night the demo took place in the future, so instead of going through ALL of it again, I went through a bunch of side quests so it wasn't a "replay" of the demo.

With all that out the way, here are my opinions, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich":

I said it in the Split Attention blog post, where I finished the demo; the design of Dex drew me in and kept me, and the story has me longing for more! Also, I think the demo was purposely easier, cuz it was kickin' my ass this go around. I'm not complaining and I didn't complain while I was playing, even if it seemed like it. This game was frustrating in a way that made me want to work to figure it out, not rage quit. And, even though I don't talk to people for very long, I'm still able to build connections with characters. Barbara dying genuinely upset me to the point where I had no problem reloading a previous save. Twice. And if I had to do what I think I do to ensure she lived, I might not finish that quest. My biggest criticism was how difficult it was to get funds. The finding of the two "antiques" to give to Hank was helpful, but I don't know what I would have done had the option not been there. I was stuck. And healing items cost too much. OR I just suck at the game. Two things can be true at once.

Now, I didn't call this stream Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD because I want this game. After I get it, it'll be a regular feature on the show. With all that out of the way, here are my opinions, late, because tired brain go static, thank you for your patience, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": This session, I spent a bit more time focused on the sound design, which had me chuckling. I also started giving gifts more often. Engaging with the plot was difficult because I didn't have any trees on my farm to put the Resin Collector on, and I couldn't put it on trees outside my farm. So I had to wait for a tree to grow... That, and the developers decided to make things expensive. Which made me stubborn.

Towards the end of the stream, I decided I was gonna upgrade my pickaxe within a time limit. Before the stream hit 2 hours and 30 minutes. And I said I was going to end stream when I succeeded. Come to find out upgrading the pickaxe AUTOMATICALLY triggers a cutscene to get you into the next part of the plot. Uh-huh. Thinking about it, I should've seen that coming... The game kept making a liar out of me and, ya know what, ain't even mad about it. That's the sign of an engaging game, good job developers! The art remains enjoyable and adorable. The animations were smooth and the transitions between areas were quick. My main issue with the game, right now, were the controls. I kept forgetting to see if I could change them, so I can't bitch too much. But I've lost track of how many times I've jumped when I wanted to swing my pickaxe. Or I'd swing my pickaxe when I wanted to jump. Or I'd eat something when I wanted to back out of the screen. I can't get used to these controls. I could listen to the sound of my drone firing at something, though. Or the sound of footsteps. If the squishing sound of the bugs was supposed to be unsettling, they succeeded. Despite my gripes, I'm loving the game so far! I hope the update didn't change too much.

PART 2 - Let's Play Some $#!7!: Doloc Town | Let's [try to] finish the demo!

Come join me for another installment of Let's Play Some $#!7! | LPS$, where I play games to provide commentary to educate on game development to prevent another stressful Cyberpunk 2077 launch scenario! Provided I don't get too caught up in the game to comment, which, in a sense, is commentary in and of itself. Today, we tried to finish playing Doloc Town's demo! I'm beginning to wonder if we even can. The game was first introduced to The Weekend Game Show | WGS via Let's Play Some Demos! - Part 17! Check it out here, TIMESTAMP - 9:56! I wanted to keep playing the demo to give it as much justice as possible. Now, I didn't call this stream Let's Play Some Demos! | LPSD because I want this game. After I get it, it'll be a regular feature on the show. With all that out of the way, thank you for your patience. Here are my opinions, via the "Layered Compliment Sandwich": This is one of the most adorable pixel art games I have ever played! PLEASE LET ME CHANGE THE CONTROLS!

Bouncing off what I said in LPSD - Part 17 regarding becoming a hopping when I find out jumping is faster than walking, that would require my remembering I could double jump. Once I discovered it again, yes, I was a hopping fool. Again, PLEASE LET ME CHANGE THE CONTROLS! Did I miss the place to do so? I lost track of how many times I would go to interact with something, and would jump instead. At one point, I started saying allowed, "A to jump," and would still jump instead of interact. On an amusing note, I accidentally hit A a second time to find out I could double jump. That was awesome!

Next complaint, learning how to control the drone was confusing. I had a similar complaint during LPSD - Part 17, instructions weren't clear. Stating what should be obvious, players shouldn't be figuring out the tutorial. Tutorials need to be helping players figure out the game. However, the minute I figured out the drone, shit got interesting quick! I'll be over here mining while it takes down a large bug or a flying robot! That was priceless! My last issue is how expensive everything is, but that could also be caused by farmer error. I was exploring more often than I was farming and progressing the main quest. Other than those issues, this play session was fun! We met more people, learned new things, and as I kept playing, I realized this was going to be a much longer demo than I initially thought. And I was, am, excited! We can unlock new seeds, but it's not only for you. You unlock new seeds, and then they can be sold to the rest of the community. The more you unlock, the more people have. It enforced the idea community that has been shown, and pushed, since the beginning. Which, I will admit, it took me a while to get. Overall, I'm liking the direction the game is going. It has a message we all need right now and I appreciate it. And now that I know it's saving my progress, I'm going to be starting my own playthrough to figure some things out.

EL FIN – Let's Play Some $#!7!: Resolute Paladin SLARPG

Come join me for Part 7, and the final act, of the Let's Play Some $#!7! | LPS$ stream for the Resolute Paladin Super Lesbian Animal RPG | SLARPG Stream Series! This go around, we beat the game! Lucky number 7 (I said that so many times while streaming)! I've said it before, and I'll say it again: this game makes me want to learn pixel art. Something I haven't said, all reviews on Steam are Overwhelmingly Positive, and I can see why. My pixel art bias is clear, right? Well, I'm going to say why Ponett did great with their art style! It was consistent! The color palette wasn't too overwhelming and the character/creature design was phenomenal! I'm a bit jealous of the artists, but I'm going to use them as inspiration! Looking at the programming, my one big issue with the game is the fact I can't walk through flowers. Are we "so good" that we would never step on a flower? Did it make for an interesting maze in the beginning? Yes. Afterwards, it became a nuisance. Another annoyance was the lack of guidance with the Spell Books. When looking at them, they told us what spells we were granted, but not what they did. There's only so much "figure it out" I'm comfortable with; I wanna know what I'm getting before I'm buying. How I feel about the game overall is... why did I stop playing? I don't remember. Getting back into the groove of playing was easy, which tells me how much I love it, but I don't remember what was going on to make me stop playing. This is a great game with a great story, lovable and memorable characters, and a great twist! If you want to watch me keep playing through SLARPG, I have a video series for the Amorous Paladin!
