Fandom Review: PAM amplifier boards (Reviewed by sunny)

As you could tell, I’ve been in a few fandoms but this one is one of the very obscure and unique ones. It’s for an amplifier board. There’s a few PAM boards, but they mainly use the PAM8403 and the PAM8610.

Time to ask the real questions.

Is it active?

Yes. Very active on one side of the world. I mainly find a LOT of foreign language PAM amplifier board content on YouTube. I’ve seen a few PAM8403 DIY videos with the same characteristics: Android phone with a song pulled up (mainly a random ncs song) on youtube or a music player app, maybe they’ll even put a small object such as little pieces of paper, capacitors, or even a on/off switch on the speaker while it’s playing for proof that it works. The videos with said characteristics usually don’t have narration. But if they do have narration, it’s most likely in a foreign language. But don’t worry, if there are captions enabled, you can translate them to English. Some videos may not have captions, and that’s okay.

Is it toxic?

The PAM amplifier board fandom is not even toxic, compared to the first fandom I’ve joined in 2020.

All the people in the fandom (with electronics experience) just make DIY speaker systems for fun, featuring the PAM8403/8610 boards. I have little to no electronics experience so I mainly watch the videos. But there is a small chance I may buy a pam8403 board to use as a charm on kandi. I really haven’t seen awful arguments on which board is better, but they instead compare the boards and be nice about them. That’s what I am assuming since all the videos I could find were all in a foreign language and with no captions.

Is it a good fandom?

So while comparing it to my experience in the rh fandom, I’d rather join the pam fandom. It’s not that cringe to me, looking back at RH and the experiences me and my friend had. (My friend also had a bad experience in the rh fandom.)

I rate it a 9/10. Not every fandom is perfect, but this is one of the good ones (to me).

i am considering purchasing a custom bebo akapane plush (cuz I love bebo so much) and I want the money to purchase one. i need to save up because custom plushies are quite expensive and I just want to give my favorite VB a hug. i have no idea if im ever getting a job anytime soon so I have to promote my products.

Those are way out of my budget for my bank account because usually I purchase cheaper things and there’s not really a quick way (to my knowledge) to check how much I have on the card. i can probably imagine myself at age 38 and my brain is like “hey do you remember utau? and bebo? elliot maybe? oooo what about komppi and nebula?” as I remember my teenage yrs and then I get a windows computer from the late 2010s-early 2020s and dabble in my teenage hobbies again. (i would get an hp white computer with win10 then download all the four original yanloids then change the date to sometime in early 2021 for the full age 15 sunny experience)

unless utau (or 3D movie maker) is still compatible on computers by then.

it may still work as 3D movie maker still fully works on modern computers. and that program is like 27 years old. hopefully it works by the time it’s 30 or more years old.

but honestly utau is a huuuuuuge part of my teenage years and I don’t think I’ll forget it’s existence 21 yrs later or anytime soon.
