About the Book

Twenty-four is one year too young for a quarter-life crisis, but hey, Colin's always been an overachiever. He's got a degree in Sustainable Tourism, which his family says he's wasting as a barista, an annoying anxiety disorder, and no freaking idea what to do with his life. The only thing going his way is the cute coffee shop regular, a homo draconis named Dav (who, in his humanshape, is a total hottie.) Still, it'd be easier if Dav didn't have a habit of accidentally setting things on fire when he's startled. Like the café kitchen.

When Dav breaks draconic taboo and volunteers as a replacement bean-roaster to apologize for the inferno meet-ugly, sparks really fly. Everything's finally happening for Colin, until he learns that hooking up with Dav means that under dragon law, Colin is absorbed into Dav's hoard.

Verse: Modern AU - Youtuber

The Idea

Rey as a Youtuber is always a Modern AU I love.

However this one is “she’s a youtuber... with like 6 channels... because she’s insane”. She moved to the US from the UK for college, dropped out, and has found a place on youtube, building her own life as she goes. She has two cats, a horse, a bunch of plants and her recording set up

ReyOfSunshine is her Gaming channel and the one that started it all. Minecraft, fallout (3, NV and 4), Skyrim, Portal (1 and 2), various other single playe games and about 50 mangment games that she still uploads too. She’s even started to play some ‘team multiplayer’ games as well.

ReyOfSunshine Live is the streaming channel. Really it just holds the VODs of all of her live streams that don’t get turned into their own videos. She never actually live streams on Youtube itself though, prefering Mixer or Twitch.

Rey’s Life is her Vlog, where she talks about her animals, life and shows off her tiny apartment. It’s usually pretty happy but she does tend to hit on some heavy things, like her depression, anxiety and lonliness, though she manages to always spin it in a happy way. She’s pretty comfortable with her ‘daemons’ as she likes to call them. This is also where all of her ‘plant themed videos’ reside. She likes keeping plants, and sings to them.

OhNoWheresRey is her animal activisim channel. Or really activisim in general. Standing up for what is right. This one often blends in with Rey’s Life quite a bit, and is a more personal channel than any of the rest. 

SunshineAndGrumpy is about Rey and her horse, Artoo. An old paint stallion (gray and white), Artoo was a rescue. She has no real idea what his history is, but he’s probably her favorite thing ever. He’s grumpy and she swears he can talk, and is always swearing at her, but he’s brave and has taught her a lot about herself, about riding and enjoying life, and he’s a treasure that she would hate to give up.

SingingInTheSun is the newest channel. Rey is attempting to learn to sing, and has taken to writing her own songs, and singing them. She’s learning piano (without a teacher) and really is just enjoying singing covers as well as her own tunes. It’s new, and she’s really not sure it’ll go anywhere.

Plot Ideas:

For Ben - Maybe he listens to her stuff a lot because ‘cute girl’ and ‘hot voice that’s soothing’ or something. Then they run into one another somehow? Maybe he’s a musition and teaches Rey how to play the piano, maybe he recognizes Artoo as his uncles old horse and goes to meet/take the horse back and she has a meltdown over it? Lots of potential.

For literally everyone else - Friends... probably pop up in her videos all the time. Finn, Rose and Poe are probably everywhere. Maybe Leia sees a video sees Artoo and goes “i know that horse” and reaches out? I mean even Hux or Phasma or anyone could be compeating against Rey and Artoo and be nasty/friends what not.

I just like the idea to much to just let it sit in my head. Anyone interested can reach out and let me know!
