“The difference between Kara and I is, I would have forgotten that dudes name by now.” (The kidnapper’s dad’s name)

“How does Maggie keep just walking into the DEO, isn't it a secret government agency?”

“Do you know why it’s fun that she’s in this shoe?” (talking about Rhea again) *Whispers* “Because she was Lois in Lois and Clark.”

“Careful she killed her husband”

“Oh no she didn’t, that is Lena’s best friend.”

“She is totall not going to share everything.” Air quotes and funny voice “I’m and alien”

“Noooo she’s a back stabber, oh wait she stabbed him in the front, she's a tummy stabber.”

“He is sooo not FBI”

“She smashed the table, do you think it’s made of rubber? Like to make it look real?”

“Oh, he had relations.”

“Yeahhhh” Under her voice when Kara throws Rick across the room. “Oh she’s going to kick your butr, you might as well bend over right now.”

“DO IT, give him a new haircut” When Kara’s eyes went red.

“You have x-ray vision Kara, go fly over the city with your x-ray vision.”

“You know what that reminded me of ‘We toys can see everything’.”

“No you didn’t, nobody was there, she did it in private. All you saw was the burning car.”

“The always say put two and two together, but obviously if it took that long, the equation was a little harder than that.”

“Heaven FORBID tHEY THROW A MURDERER IN JAIL.”

“Yeah, because they’re doing this sort of stuff in Jr High.”

“Kara needs to accidentally step on his toes, because they’ll flatten.” Then she slapped her hands together and madesquishing noise.

“She is far more intelligent than I anticipated, not like book smarts because that’s obvious, but like now she has street cred.” After Lena uses the Alien detection device on Rhea.

Under her breath, “Getmos is Gwatameno Bay....that’s totally J’onn.”

“She’s going to MCGyver the crap out of that thing. WHAT IS SHE DOING? AHHHHH WHY IS SHE DOING THAT? “When Alex cuts her tracker out with the credit card. “You can’t plant the chip in there. THat does suck. Yeah and those wires connect perfectly into that thing.”

“That look...disdain.” IN reference to the look Maggie gives Rick when she’s going to leave the room.

“I hope you can swim...she’s a secret agent of course she can swim”

“She’s got to be there right?...don’t answer me.”

“Use your credit card it worked last time.” I asked for what. She said, “it doesn’t matter it worked.”

“Kara has very big arms, she looks like a girl I played basketball against once.”

“Literally, she is a little bit bigger than her.”

“haha she’s going to a closet....hey pun not intended.”

“Would you call her by her first name once in her life? You are not on a softball team.” 

“Name her gertrude? What is she russian?”

“Oh Snap, her comes Mon-El’s mama, mama El.” “That’s right, get out of Lena’s office.”

“But really how does she know all this stuff about Earth, she’s only been around for like a week?”

“Lena, I don’t have time for you.” Pretending to be Kara when Lena is calling.

“No everything is not okay. My sister has been kidnapped. I need you to come hug me”

“Like I said fly over and Xray it... a fly by shooting if you will.”

“I’d have blamed myself too.”

“Break your father free? What is she, superman. You’re confused sir, Supergirl is the blonde one.”

“CREEEEEP!”

“you’re missing the point pal.” Sing song voice. “Murdereer.

“I Like that she’s taken off her shoes and her socks, I mean if you’re going to take off your shoes, may as well take off your socks too.

“Now she’s taking her pants off, WOAH!!!! She’s making a floaty with her pants. She wears boxers like you. That’s definately where she wears her guns.”

“Maggie’s gone rogue.”

“Maggie letting the bad guy out is not a good idea.”

“Oh my.” (The tech) “She totes got that from the aliens.”

“Maybeeee not the best thing to have done with your life, you know, raising a bad guy.”

“Oh snap, have you been a good father today?” When Kara was giving her speech.

“That was a quick 4 hours.”

“Hello, go punch it.” Before Kara goes and punches the glass

“Give her the kiss of life.”

“Oh nevermind, she’s breathing.”

“Just hold her.”

“How did she get there as fast as Kara” I told her Kara flew her. “Kisses, sisters before misters, thanks for the ride, dueces.”

“Awww that so cute. Finally you used her first name.”

“Punch him Punch him in the face. Kick him kick him in the little boys.”

“YESSS!!!!!!!” little kid voice “oh my nose.”

“No you guys need to talk about it. DON”T JUST MAKE BRUNCH PLANS LENA.”

So @inspectorboxer and I were re-watching this based on the Alex preview. Kara gets a phone call and she’s addressed as Supergirl. He says he has her sister.

Now listen to the voice at 12 seconds into this promo: I’ve spent the whole year planning this.

Now who haven’t we seen for a year who knows Kara is Supergirl and that she and Alex are sisters? We’re calling it: Maxwell Lord is back and he’s the one who kidnapped Alex.

The 2x19 button we all deserve...

When a knock interrupts Lena’s morning, she isn’t surprised to see Kara closing the door behind herself. They don’t have an appointment, but these days any unscheduled visitor is nine-point-nine times out of ten going to be Kara. What does surprise Lena is how Kara lingers just inside the door, the way she stiffly plucks at the sleeve of her cardigan while her eyes remain glued to some indistinct point on the floor.

“Kara?” Lena rises from her desk with apprehension high in her throat. She crosses the room in long strides, closing the distance quickly. “Are you okay? What’s wro--”

The words die in her throat when Kara’s tear-filled eyes lift to meet hers. The eye contact is Kara’s undoing. The trembling line of her lips cracks, and a strangled, rasping breath escapes her in a sharp gasp. Before Lena realizes what she’s doing, her arms lift and Kara surges into them, wrapping her own arms around Lena’s waist.

At first her grip is fierce enough to make Lena’s ribs groan, but an instant later it eases into something far more gentle. She buries her face in Lena’s shoulder, and in moments the fabric of her blouse is damp against her skin.

Lena has no words of comfort to offer. She has no tender moments of her own to draw from, save from those Kara herself has offered, and it feels hollow to parrot Kara’s own words back to her. So when Kara presses her face deeper into Lena’s shoulder, all Lena can do is tighten her hold.

She clutches Kara to her as tightly as she can, as desperately as Kara seems to want to hug her, but doesn’t. She squeezes and turns her cheek into Kara’s hair, and simply holds her as Kara’s breaths grow more ragged against her. She only hopes the contact can convey everything she wants to say, but can’t find the words to.

I’m sorry.

It’ll be okay.

You’re safe.

I’m here.

I love you.

Imagine hating on Maggie Sawyer, an emotionally abused person who thinks she's not good enough and doesn't deserve love, for caring about the one person that makes her feel worthy of love again, can't relate.

I’m watch ‘Alex’

Episode 2.19 of supergirl.

And she just cut the tracker out of her shoulder.

And I just can’t get over,

‘That sucked.’

Chyler is such a great actress.

The floor behind them is wet and there is what looks like broken glass in between the director and Flo, so maybe Alex is trapped in some sort of glass tank full of water and they have to break it to get her out. Just a thought!

If things were out of context

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 19, “Alex”, was a very emotional episode. And, in my opinion, one of the better ones of this season. But, I can’t help but feel that it would be a much better episode if you took it out of the rest of the season as written. (SPOILERS AHEAD)

The episode covers a number of topics, but the main ones that caught my attention were the romantic vs familial love and Kara’s ‘punch first’ approach. Now, I want to start by saying that I like the idea of both these things being explored, but I really wish that it was a built up better.

I know a lot of people have been wishing that Kara did not feel so flat and out of character this season, and I agree. And I could see Kara falling more into the habit of over the course of the season. It would have been really interesting to explore and if it was gradual, it would have felt less forced / for the sake of conflict between her and Maggie. And, it would have coincided well with her relationship with Mon.

On that point, I am not opposed to Mon existing as a character. In fact, while I do not like his character, I like the IDEA of having a character like him, were it not for how the season has actually played out. Again, without the context that exists (namely her feelings for James being so suddenly abandoned and for the show failing to acknowledge the nature of her relationship with Mon being abusive) having Kara in a relationship that is not healthy (if acknowledged as such), could have been an interesting arc for her. Also, if it was about her, and not about his arc.

I would have been really impressed if the show had given us the following things:

A reason for her and James not working out... you know, like, a few episodes dedicated to showing, rather than telling. 

A reason why she could be interested in Mon. Like, fear that she can’t be with a human. Or, some sort of self-loathing / depression / lapse of judgment that led to something. And then a depiction of how she did not feel like she could back out. Even if she did not see it as abusive, that would be alright, so long as it is presented to the audience as being explicitly that. 

If the show treated it as a reason for character changes.

So, to return to the punch first Kara, if that was something that was a result of her character shifting, over the course of the season, because she had been dealing with things not working with James / things happening with Mon, it would have made much more sense in this episode. AND would have left the door open for Alex / Maggie / J’onn / Winn / anyone other than Mon to point out how she had been changing. It would have been eye opening.

And then we have the topic of love. And I have seen a few opinions regarding this. And I am not going to sit here and argue that one is better than the other or more powerful. I do not think that should be the point.

My issue is that this very thing - the romantic vs familial love - has already been covered, but without ANY conflict. What hurts me is that when Kara was dying, somehow there was no question on the show’s part that Mon, HER EX, should be the one to take point on saving her.

I am all for there being a little head butting / people not seeing eye to eye when they fear for the safety of someone they love, even when everyone is obviously on the same side. That is natural.

But, for fuck’s sake, why would the show brush over it when it comes to Mon vs Alex, but not for Maggie vs Kara? That is what makes no sense to me. So, if the Mon vs Alex had not happened, if that was not canon, the Maggie vs Kara would have sat a lot better with me. Like, HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

To conclude, I think, if this season had not played out how it has, this episode would have been so much better.
