Najmlađa beogradska opština Surčin, zainteresovana je da iskoristi dobre predispozicije koje ima i na svojoj teritoriji, na svega dvadesetak kilometara od centra prestonice, razvija gotove sve vidove turističke ponude. U cilju bolje prezentacije te ponude, prošle godine je osnovana Turistička organizacija GO Surčin, dok je 1. juna ove godine otvoren prvi Turistički informativni centar u opštini 

Surčin se nalazi jugozapadno od Beograda i obuhvata površinu od 288 km2. Sastoji se od sedam naselja (katastarskih opština) u kojima živi oko 45 hiljada stanovnika. Ponosni su broj rođene dece, jer imaju godišnji prosek od oko 500 beba, broj zaključenih brakova, godišnje oko 250, i mali broj razvedenih bračnih zajednica, negde oko 35. Za sve veću prepoznatljivost i privlačnost Surčina, surčinski vinari, kojih je svakog dana sve više i imaju sve bolja vina, smatraju da je to upravo zbog njihovog vina, pčelari smatraju da je to zasluga njihovog meda, voćari se pozivaju na dobre lešnike i orahe, ali se zna da je u pitanju, pre svega, dobra energija ovog podneblja. U Surčinu se ponose i brojevima od oko skoro 9.000 penzionera, 14.000 zaposlenih, oko 2.000 preduzetnika, 6.500 osnovaca, 1.500 mališana smeštenih u državne vrtiće. Uzajamno poštujući i negujući kulturne različitosti u Surčinu zajednički oblikuju život većinsko srpsko stanovništvo, te Slovaci, Romi i Hrvati.Gradska opština Surčin je razvojno orijentisana opština. Cilj je da ta sredina bude centar investicionih ulaganja u Beogradu i mesto intenzivnog privrednog razvoja i zapošljavanja stručnih kadrova. Ova opština ima izuzetno povoljan saobraćajni položaj, što svakako predstavlja jedan od najvećih razvojnih potencijala opštine u budućnosti. Drumski saobraćaj je određen drumskim koridorima (autoputevima) granica Hrvatske - Beograd (Dobanovci), autoputa E-75 deonica Beograd - Niš i novim autoputem „Miloš Veliki“. Ne sme se zaboraviti železnički saobraćaj, plovna reka Sava (koju su premostili 4 puta), kao ni najvažniji objekat saobraćajne i socio-ekonomske infrastrukture na teritoriji opštine, međunarodni aerodrom „Nikola Tesla“. Predispozicije Surčina za razvoj sporta i turizma su prepoznate, tako da je u planu da se na teritoriji opštine gradi Nacionalni fudbalski stadion, na kojem ćemo svi zajedno bodriti naše „Orlove“. Očekuje se da u narednom periodu počne njegova izgradnja u vrednosti oko 60 miliona evra, na 430 hektara, za 60.0000 gledalaca, sa kompletnom infrastrukturom, parkingom za 10.000 automobila i 500 autobusa. Biće to ceo grad u okviru stadiona i dobra prilika za buduće investitore, jer kada se tako nešto dogodi poveća se interesovanje za otvaranje mnogih dodatnih sadržaja. 

Prevedeno sa latinskog jezika „Surčin“ znači „sklonište“, odnosno „pribežište“. Još u periodu antičkog rimskog carstva bogati stanovnici Singidunuma su utočište od buke i burnog života nalazili na prostoru današnjeg Surčina. Tako je i danas. Surčinska opština je i dalje svojevrsna oaza spokoja i tišine i dolazak iz grada u Surčin je kao prelazak u drugu vremensku dimenziju, dolazak u rajsku dolinu pored Save, u očuvani prirodni ambijent, dovoljno daleko, a opet dovoljno blizu velegrada. Posetioci i turisti mogu da uživaju u miru koji pruža Sava u Nautičkom selu „Biser“ u Boljevcima, da veslaju kajak u Progaru, skijaju na vodi, jašu u surčinskim konjičkim klubovima, kupaju se na „Tarzan plaži“, najlepše sanjaju u brvnarama u sred Bojčinske šume koja je zaštićeno prirodno dobro i koja je bila lovište kralja Aleksandra. Na teritoriji Surčina se nalaze i šume Cerova greda, Gibavac, Zidine, Dobanovački zabran, Draža, Zabran i Crni lug, kao i ribnjaci Bečmenska bara i Živača, što pruža izvanredne mogućnosti za turizam, sport, rekreaciju, lov i ribolov. Nezaobilazne destinacije su i Manastir Fenek, koji je, prema narodnom predanju sagrađan u drugoj polovini 15. veka a osnovali su ga Stefan i Angelina Branković, Muzej vazduhoplovstva i Etno-kuća Stajkov. Predsednik GO Surčin Stevan Šuša kaže da uz realno sagledavanje svih potencijala budućeg razvoja turizma, opština ima za cilj da se afirmiše valorizovanjem sopstvenog geostrateškog položaja, prirodnih i turističkih kapaciteta sa prepoznatljivim identitetom, uz očuvanje prirodnog nasleđa. Savremeno očuvanje nasleđa zasniva se na mudrom upravljanju postojećim potencijalima. Opština je zainteresovana da iskoristi dobre predispozicije koje ima i na svojoj teritoriji, na svega dvadesetak kilometara od prestonice i razvija područje za lovni, prirodnjački eko-turizam, na lokaciji „Višnjik“ u Petrovčiću. Takođe, kamping turizam razvijaćemo u Nautičkom selu „Biser“ u Boljevcima i ribnjaku „Bečmenska bara“, ističe Šuša. U cilju bolje prezentacije turističke ponude opštine Surčin, prošle godine je osnovana Turistička organizacija, a ove godine, 1. juna, na Međunarodni dan reke Save, Turistička organizacija Gradske opštine Surčin otvorila je prvi Turistički informativni centar u opštini Surčin. Cilj otvaranja Turističkog info centra je promocija turističke ponude Surčina, kulturnih vrednosti područja i predstavljanje gastronomskih, rekreativnih i tradicionalnih delatnosti – svega onoga što Gradska opština Surčin može da pruži svojim posetiocima i turistima. Info centar je moderno uređen i poseduje sve uslove za promociju štampanog materijala, izlaganje suvenira, a od zaposlenih posetioci mogu da dobiju informacije o turističkoj ponudi GO Surčin.
