Johnny “Hunter” Slaughter calls you possessive nicknames, things he knows have an underlying tone of owning, that play off that sweet power dynamic you both have going on. He likes thinking of you like his little prize- his dearest possession. He always brings in a little southern drawl when he calls you these things- always brings in a tone that’s just slightly softer, almost… caring. But he can’t truly care, can he? “Bunny”, “Sweetheart”, and “Darlin” are his favorites…

Nubbins “The Hitchhiker” Sawyer has a habit of worshipping you from the ground up- he prefers calling you names that reflect that. He also likes calling you names that are sillier- he names you after things he observes that remind him of you- you’ve ended up with some batshit crazy nicknames with even longer stories. But above all, you’re special to him, and he wants names that reflect that. “Lolipop”, “Cheeky”, “My Favorite”, and “Beautiful/Handsome”, are his personal favorites.

Sissy “Sunshine” Slaughter is a sweet partner- as long as don’t mind the aftertaste of her poison. She loves naming you after her environment- that’s what made her, well, her; after all. You remind her of all that is glory in life- her freedom, the fall leaves crunching beneath her naked feet, bear to the natural world. You ground her, heighten her five senses- she wants to reflect that in her pet names. Her favorite names to call you are: “Sugar”, “Sunshine”, and “Pumpkin Pie”.

Nancy “Black” Slaughter thinks you’re like her second child- she names you as such. She wants so call you things that bring you comfort- in an antique way, like the dusty smell of an old house, overrun with kittens. Maybe you don’t like that comparison- she doesn’t care. You’ll always like whatever she calls you in her eyes. She refers to you as: “Sweet Pea”, “Honey Bun”, “My Dear”, and “Darling Y/N”.

Drayton “The Cook” Sawyer doesn’t hate you- which says something. In fact, he likes you. As his favorite person, you get special treatment. He likes calling you names that aren’t anything too fancy or special, but makes it clear whom he is always the first to serve food to at the table. Basically, anything that straight up tells everyone that you’re his #1. He is a fan of calling you: “The Good Kid”, “My Best Assistant”, or “The-One-damn-sane-one-in-this-family”.

Bubba “Leatherface” Sawyer can’t verbalize his pure love for you, and out of all the family, he has the purest kind of love- like how a male dog looks up at you, with those precious, pleasing eyes. That’s how he looks at you. And while he can’t tell you his names, you already know what your dearest thinks of you as: His Wife/Husband/Partner, His Emotional Support Human, His Everything. He doesn’t need words to tell you how much you mean to him, you can tell it by his gaze.

Chop Top “Hippie” Sawyer likes teasing you- messing with you, that’s almost your whole relationship. His names for you aren’t the most romantic and elegant, or the most serious, but have his playful personality embedded into them, creating terms of affection that send the message across just fine- This is my person, with the goddamn fine ass. Chop Tops nicknames for his s/o consist of: “Sexy”, “Hot Stuff”, “Pickle Tickler”, or “My peice of ass”.

Hands “The Heavy” Slaughter is another non verbal- he cannot express his feelings for you in words, but that sure as hell doesn’t mean it isn’t obvious. Like with Johnny- you’re his. And he does a damn fine job of making sure people know it. The family knows exactly what you are to him: His Woman/Man, His Pet, His Person. You are his. You might not be able to tell from the way he looks at you, but you sure can tell from the way he grabs your waist.

At first he thinks it's heat exhaustion so he tries to make sure you're not over-working yourself

Nubbins Sawyer

You are highly mistaken

He is, without a doubt, hooping and hollering, shaking you, shaking the table

He's shaking everything to keep you awake

Drayton yells at him a few times to cut it out

I like the idea that Drayton is a lot sweeter towards you rather than his brothers, so if you are still trying to eat after everyone else is done, he'll come over and gently shake you, tell you to go on up to bed, and that he's got the dishes tonight

Nubby doesn't understand why you're feeling this way, but he will grab you like a koala grabs a tree and hold onto you all night long, just to (try) to make sure you get enough sleep (should I start writing a series about how they sleep?)

Bubba Sawyer

So worried

He, like Thomas, is also worried that you might have gotten heat exhaustion

Despite Drayton yelling at him not to, he grabs you and carries you down to the basement with your food, hoping that it would be cooler down there so you could eat

He sits with you and helps feed you as well, hoping to help you feel better

He starts doing his chores quicker so he can start helping you with yours, hoping you won't get so exhausted

Chop-Top Sawyer

Again, he is hooping and hollaring, if you can still be tired through that, then even I'm worried about you

It kinda ends in the same way as Nubbins, however he is more worried about you then Nubbins

He knows a bit more, and knows it can still be pretty hot, so you probably have heat exhaustion

He tries getting you a fan, laying down on the floor with you (you ended up just falling asleep) but eventually, he just shook you awake and fed you

^Wouldn't suggest that tho as he can get kinda finicky when anywhere around your face, so he will start shaking and probably accidentally stab the roof of your mouth with the utensils he was using to feed you :|

due to the way drayton spells sex (scex) i imagine he didnt get a great education. i think he was either homeschooled or was pulled out of school early on in his life.

hes the eldest and i think he was heavily affected by his family's money issues after the slaughterhouse was shut down. maybe he was pulled out of school afterward? i just know he probably didnt get past middle school.

even if he did, i dont think he would survive in highschool. let alone stay in it for long. since his family needed help with their whole cannibalism act plus grandpa and grandma needed someone to care for them, he wouldve dropped out and stayed to help out.

once they got older and the twins were born, drayton tried his best to help his family make a little bit more money for his brothers to go to school. he genuinely cares about them, he just doesnt admit it nor does he know how to show it

most of the english he's learned is from his grandmother teaching him and his work in the gas station! she also used the gas station to teach him math :)

CHOPTOP

hes either a choir kid or a theater kid. probably a theater kid. as a theater kid i can confirm i in fact act like choptop

during highschool he was in his emo/goth/all american massacre phase. when he was a freshman he would help out just a little with his family's money issues - giving kids weed in trade for money.

him and nubbins were troublemakers - always having to be seperated. the only problem is how bad their separation anxiety gets. the twins never stay apart for long. both of them will kick and scream if theyre seperated and highschool wasnt any different.

out of all the brothers, i think choptop is the smartest. his experience in the military really helped him with his education and he was able to learn so much. i think he had a pin pal at some point and that definitely helped him with his writing!!

he wasnt able to fully complete highschool because of the draft but he was at least about to get to 11th grade :)

NUBBINS

nubbins was definitely a struggler in school. he didnt really understand what was being taught no matter how he was taught. teachers have tried to tutor him and he just never understood it

choptop helped him a lot with getting him to understand. he would sit with nubbins at the dining room table and help him through their math homework, help him with english essays, anything he needs. he would explain it in a way nubbins could understand easier!

he was very dependent on choptop throughout highschool. they were always seen together

i dont know how to explain it but nubbins really likes comic books. theyre a lot easier for him to read, especially with the pictures

grandpa also read him a lot of books when he was younger! according to nubbins, he's grandpa's favorite

BUBBA

there really isnt much to say about bubba? his parents didnt really see a use of sending him to school

he was mostly homeschooled by the twins..who would always try to get him to say words

at the very least he knows how to write his name and he can understand what his siblings ask of him. he tries! really he goes off of tone of voice for how he reacts

hurts thinking how the victims go looking for maria, what they end up enduring, just to find her long gone (presumably) at black nancy's... the guilt ana would feel for bringing them there, knowing they're going to meet the same fate, that their families won't know what happened.

and of course, how could ana have known? who could have ever thought such horrors awaited them as they set up their camp site in the thicket? as they put up their tent, lit a fire and sat around together, sharing stories about maria and thinking they're close to finding her alive.
