“Chinese smartphone brands are about to enter the era of completely self-developed operating systems.” Chinese smartphone manufacturers are developing their operating systems, following the path paved by Huawei, as stated by well-known insider Ice Universe. After Huawei HarmonyOS, Xiaomi will release its own MIOS system. Vivo will also release an operating system entirely developed in-house by the company. Chinese smartphone brands are about to enter the era of completely self-developed operating systems. In addition to Huawei, Xiaomi and Vivo will also switch to their operating systems [caption id="attachment_69815" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Xiaomi and Vivo[/caption] Earlier there was information that MIOS will replace MIUI and become the new operating system for Xiaomi mobile phones. The important thing is that this is not just a matter of changing the name. This new operating system, similar to HarmonyOS, will be used in Xiaomi smartphones, tablets, cars, and smart home devices. Ice Universe was the first to accurately talk about the new trend for smartphones with waterfall screens, about the bangs in the iPhone X, the new design of the iPhone 14 with the Dynamic Island cutout, and different 200-megapixel image sensors.

Technology still not ready for consumer devices Bloobmerg's big article about Apple's healthcare plans includes more than just a story about how a Cupertino smartwatch could work with Android , but Apple eventually changed its mind. For example, the article contains information about what to expect from the Apple Watch next year. [caption id="attachment_78545" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Apple[/caption] The company reportedly has a roadmap for 2024 that includes adding hypertension and sleep apnea detection. And for AirPods, capabilities similar to hearing aids will be added. Apple is also working on a paid service based on artificial intelligence that will deal with user health issues. One of the most interesting parts of the article is the one that talks about Apple's project to create a non-invasive glucose meter. The history of this project starts back in 2011. Then Apple created the startup Avolonte Health, and on the personal initiative of Steve Jobs. The goal was precisely to create a non-invasive glucometer. Apple at one time created a secret startup Avolonte Avolonte's office was 15 minutes from Apple's office. However, the caveat is that very few people knew about the connection between these two companies. The company was separate from Apple, allowing it to purchase components and conduct human testing without attracting attention. Additionally, the startup was not listed in any official Apple system, and employees were prohibited from bringing Apple clothing nearby. At the same time, interestingly, the Avolonte logo was the letter A” intersected with an infinity symbol, which was a hint at the address of the old Apple headquarters, located on a private road called Infinite Loop. Several years and hundreds of millions of dollars later, the Avolonte researchers settled on a technology called short-wave infrared absorption spectroscopy, Bloomberg says. This method involves shining lasers through the skin onto the tissue fluid between blood vessels and the cells they serve. The researchers found that the intensity of the light's back reflection could be used to calculate the concentration of glucose in that fluid and, as a result, in the bloodstream - and the only thing that had to get into the body was light. True, as we see, many years have passed, and there is no ready-made technology yet. However, recent rumors and leaks suggest that it may appear in the coming years. Now the project is already fully developed in the bowels of Apple itself. The project is being carried out by the Exploratory Design Group (XDG). Apple has also canceled a number of other health projects over the years. For example, it was considering selling a suite of Apple Watch peripherals, including a bathroom scale and a Jony Ive-designed blood pressure cuff that doesn't require inflation. The company has created a prototype watch band with sensors that collect data from the underside of the wrist, and has also explored both a bedside sleep tracker and a bedside device with sensors to monitor users throughout the night. At the same time, a number of specialists who work and have worked at Apple believe that the company is sometimes too cautious. They say the company's engineers and physicians have long had to contend with executives' concerns that poor user experiences with health-related features and technologies could tarnish the company's perception. However, it's also worth keeping in mind that Apple needs to take into account numerous health-related laws. For example, the blood pressure feature expected in the Apple Watch next year would simply tell the user if their blood pressure is trending high and advise them to see a doctor. Providing accurate metrics requires separate permissions. The same will apply to the operation of a non-invasive glucometer when it appears in watches.

Watches have become an additional driver of iPhone sales The Bloobmerg resource published a large article about how Apple works and has previously worked on projects in the healthcare sector. Among other things, journalists report that initially the company had plans to make its smartwatches compatible with Android smartphones. [caption id="attachment_78537" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Apple[/caption] Apple was going to make its smartwatch compatible with Android The corresponding project was called Project Fennel. Apple not only thought about this option, but actively worked in this direction. However, in the end the project was closed. Other business considerations reportedly prevailed. In particular, at some point the Apple Watch became an additional driver of iPhone sales. As a result, Project Fennel was abandoned when the work was almost completed.

Xiaomi has never had anything like this before Today Xiaomi presented many new products, including the company's first smartwatch, which allows you to record an ECG, and measure blood pressure and body temperature. The device received a name that seems to have been invented in the USSR - “Xiaomi Wrist ECG and Blood Pressure Recorder.” [caption id="attachment_76149" align="aligncenter" width="707"] Xiaomi[/caption] The device has an aluminum alloy body, a stainless steel bezel, and a round AMOLED screen with a diameter of 1.43 inches. To create the device, Xiaomi collaborated with reputable Chinese medical institutions such as the Third Hospital of Peking University and Fuwai Hospital (which specializes exclusively in cardiovascular diseases), which conducted joint research. The watch was also tested to achieve maximum accuracy in blood pressure measurements. [caption id="attachment_76150" align="aligncenter" width="526"] Xiaomi[/caption] Xiaomi presented its most advanced smartwatch As for the ECG, it takes 30 seconds to measure, and the data can be sent to leading clinics in China for interpretation of the results. If a threatening condition is detected, the watch itself can automatically contact a contact at a predetermined number or call an ambulance. The capabilities of the “Xiaomi Wrist ECG and Blood Pressure Recorder” are not limited to this: the watch monitors heart rate and SpO2, the menstrual cycle, stress and sleep, and measures body temperature. [caption id="attachment_76151" align="aligncenter" width="345"] Xiaomi[/caption] The device integrates the branded voice assistant Xiao AI and has an NFC chip and full protection against dust and water IP68. To make voice calls, you need to connect to a smartphone since there is no eSIM. Maximum autonomy is 9 days. The price of the new item is $275. Let's remember that Xiaomi today also presented the flagship smartphone Xiaomi 14 on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Xiaomi Watch S3 smartwatch, and the inexpensive top-end TV Xiaomi TV S Pro 85 with a Mini LED screen.

The update gave an error Microsoft has fixed an issue that caused Windows 10 security updates released earlier this month to fail with error 0x8007000d. For systems affected by this issue, specifically Windows 10 21H2 and Windows 10 22H2, security updates KB5031356 were not installed despite showing an installation progress bar. The company acknowledged the problems on Friday, confirming user complaints that had been coming up since Tuesday and saying that attempting to install the update manually was also impossible. [caption id="attachment_69829" align="aligncenter" width="780"] Microsoft[/caption] Microsoft admitted this and has already fixed the error. “Microsoft has received reports of an issue that prevents Windows updates released on October 10, 2023 (KB5031356) from installing. Devices may initially show progress, but then fail to complete installation, Microsoft said. — According to our reports, one of the most common errors is error 8007000D (ERROR_INVALID_DATA). This error can be found in the Windows Update view under System Settings by selecting Update History. Microsoft addressed the issue over the weekend with Known Issue Rollback, a Windows feature that lets you undo buggy non-security updates distributed through Windows Update. OnePlus 12 may be noticeably more expensive than the OnePlus 11 Insider Yogesh Brar shared details about the future OnePlus flagship – the OnePlus 12. He generally confirmed what was said earlier (about a significant upgrade to the camera and a larger battery), but also noted that the smartphone will become more expensive. [caption id="attachment_68889" align="aligncenter" width="780"] OnePlus 12[/caption] It must be said that OnePlus 11 was one of the most inexpensive flagships at the time of release: the price of the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory in the US was $700. A large upgrade of almost all systems will inevitably affect the cost, but the price was one of the main competitive advantages of the OnePlus 11 - and the OnePlus 12 may lose this advantage. Unless other flagships with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 rise in price even more. OnePlus 12 will get an improved screen, a bigger battery, and a completely new camera [caption id="attachment_68890" align="aligncenter" width="750"] OnePlus 12[/caption] According to the informant, OnePlus 12 will have a BOE screen - the same as the Oppo Find X6 Pro. OnePlus 12 will not be equipped with Tianma and Samsung panels, with which there were problems. As for the battery, its capacity, according to previous leaks, will be 5400 mAh, and in the camera, in addition to the main 50-megapixel sensor, there will be another 50-megapixel (with an ultra-wide-angle lens) and 64-megapixel (with a telephoto lens providing 3- multiple zoom). Yogesh Brar has already published details many times, which were later fully confirmed. For example, this was the case with Redmi A1, Pixel 7, 7 Pro, and OnePlus 11.
