I hate to revive DNI discourse when it just ended on this blog but I often don’t think it’s as deep as people make it out to be and there’s a lot of, for lack of a better word, ~valid~ reasons someone may have a DNI. Like there’s absolutely contexts of “Kink Blogs DNI” disclaimers having an anti, swerf, etc undertone but sometimes I get it — for example I follow a couple of disability activists who post A LOT about incontinence, needing a caregiver, ETC who have stuff like “ABDL/DDLG/Devotee Blogs DNI.” Oftentimes that is not an indicator on their moral stance of those kinks, but rather them just being like “hey this is an activism-based journal where I post about incredibly personal things in regards to my own life, and while anyone has the right to read or reblog from me, if you’re clearly getting off to my medical needs or even if I get the vague impression you are, you WILL be blocked.”

Obviously that is an incredibly extreme and personal example, but I don’t think having a DNI boundary in your bio is ALWAYS a morality/discourse stance. On a much lighter note, I’m pretty active on Kpop Twitter, and there’s a lot of “RPF DNI” accounts there, and I think that’s more of a “I just want to post about my favorite band without shippers quote retweeting/replying to make it about their ship, and if you do so, I’ll block you. They’ve made public statements against these ships or about their real relationships and I am uncomfortable with people trying to dispute that.”

Oh yes there’s absolutely antis who hate RPF communities and all they stand for. But there’s also people who just straight up don’t want that on their account.

And like. As someone casually involved with RPF (i gossip about potential relationships with close friends and will reblog joke posts about it and will read it, but I’m not a writer for it and I’m definitely not someone who actually tries to speculate just how heavy the “fiction” part of an RPF ship might be), whether or not I choose to follow a person with such DNI depends on context. I keep my RPF ships/opinions off my main account, and even if I DO see a post that I would otherwise interpret as possibly shippy, I just won’t bring it up on said person’s posts, you know?

Damn this made me remember I have a DNI myself on one my accounts, 🤣 I have a minors DNI on one of my sideblogs. But I know I can’t prevent minors from seeing my posts or lying about their age or reblogging to a private sideblog or doing anything else that would go unnoticed. But once I do notice you interacting, if you’re clearly underage I’ll block you, just cuz I don’t feel comfortable with minors following my smutty fanart account even if I know minors look at smutty fanart, as someone who did look at smutty fanart as a minor. . .🎶Maybe I’m the problem it’s me. 🎶

No one here thinks they're always deep and meaningful. What we all say every time this comes up is that it's bad to conflate "I will block you if..." and "It is your job to research my boundaries ahead of time".

I'm not interested in people crying about how they like using an inaccurate term and everyone is supposed to understand what they mean. In practice, many people do mean that it's other people's job to enforce their boundaries for them. Validating this garbage terminology just encourages them.

Tumblr is partnering with OpenAI and Midjourney, allowing them to utilize user-submitted content for AI model training. [1] [2]

While it's unclear whether scraping has already started, "a query made to prepare data for OpenAI and Midjourney compiled a huge number of user posts that it wasn’t supposed to", namely unanswered asks and private posts, all dating as far as 2014.

You are opt-in by default. The option to opt-out might not be visible on mobile yet. You can either go on desktop or use a browser on mobile. You must repeat this step with sideblogs as well.

I've seen Glaze/WebGlaze and Nightshade used as a counterattack to cloak artwork against AI training itself on art, but I can't comment on its effectiveness.

Imperfections, watermarking and effects can throw off AI as well. Sketches, overlaying text, gaussian blur/noise effects, and poor lighting on traditional art are a few examples.

You can search for yours or another's artwork on Have I Been Trained? which "taps into the LAION-5B training data used to train Stable Diffusion and Google's Imagen AI models, among others" and allows you to request not to train AI on selected images. Midjourney's images come from the LAION-5B dataset.

Hi there! My name's Zargontari, though I also go by Skippy, if that's easier to remember. I'm twenty-one, nonbinary, and probably the most rabid objectum you'll ever meet.

Deleted all my sideblogs. I wasn't using them anyway. Graytheory still exists because that's a whole separate blog, but I'm seriously considering deleting it, too.

There's glaze and nightshade for art, but you can't protect written work that way. All my queer feminist writings are stuck out there. And apparently, Tumblr already scraped all the data, including data they weren't supposed to gather like private posts.

So basically they're going to send all that unfiltered information to the AI companies along with a list of urls that have requested to opt out. And just like. Trust them to actually follow the list.

I was going to save her for my other Tintin sideblog(for my webcomic), but I think it would be fitting that I post her here. I'm plotting a character lineup for my Tintin fan story, but I'm not sure when I'll get to that.

This is Lilli Syvertsen, one of the characters featured in my Tintin fan story, The Mystery of the Violet Ibis.

She's a teen living in the fictional Mosvanger countryside in Norway with her father Thomas. But they soon become unexpected allies to Tintin when he literally stumbled into their lives.

Some more info about Lilli (WARNING: THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR MY TINTIN FAN STORY!):

Lilli was raised in a family of sheep and pig farmers, so she carried on the family tradition.

Her father works at a milling and trade company in Bergen, which is his main source of income. He exchanges the wool provided by the sheep in his farm.

With the amount of money he was making, Thomas could only afford to send Lilli to a local public school. But once she entered her teen years, Lilli had to get a private tutor to resume her education.

Lilli has had only a few memories of her mother, who was pregnant with her second child.

However, on the day she was supposed to deliver, Lilli's mother got sick. By the time Thomas was able to get a doctor to his house, Lilli's mother had passed away, along with the baby.

The death of his wife deeply affected Thomas, who believed it was his fault for not having done more to help.

When Lilli grew up, she noticed that Thomas would drink a lot, which was rare.

Thomas tried to forget what happened to his wife because he thought he wasn't good enough to prevent what had happened to her.

There were even days when Thomas would pray that a miracle would come to help him.

This is when Tintin enters the picture: When Thomas and Lilli find Tintin in his barn, he was initially hesitant to help him. But after seeing that Snowy needed help, Thomas and Lilli agreed to bring Tintin into their home.

When they learn that Tintin has the Norseman's Fever, they immediately take it upon themselves to help Tintin manage the illness and make sure that he doesn't make himself even more sick.

In the short time that he is living with them, Tintin becomes sort of like an honorary member of Thomas and Lilli's family.

Lilli will be featured in my fan story sideblog as part of a character lineup, so when that happens, stay tuned!

hi! I think your idea for a therian/alterhuman conlang is a good idea, and one that could foster a lot of community. It could also be a way for closeted therians to communicate without other knowing. I have a few questions. First, do you have any experience in creating languages before? Second, will this be an only spoken language or will it also have a written component? Third, will it be based off of an already existing language, eg. English, or have a completely new grammar structure etc? Fourth, how do you intend to enforce ‘only therains/alterhumans allowed’ rule? Sorry for all the questions, I just think this is a really cool idea

it will be written using cyrillic or the latin alphabet (at least digitally, im working on a physical way to write it rn as i type this) im hoping to give it some familiarity by using some bits of english, but its supposed to be super easy to learn so i might not do that. the grammar will be super simple, no plurals, no pronouns, no grammatical gender, no register distinction, and no tenses.

Thank you so much for creating the anchorverse. I’ve read all of your work in the verse and it’s so amazing. Might be my favorite fanfiction universe to date. I know you’ve moved on to other projects and that’s fine.

My question is can you elaborate a bit on what Myuna and Chen(her supposed love interest) relationship is like? It’s ok if we never get a fic about them since you’re busy but maybe how they met or how they fall in love. Apparently they rescue him from a shipwreck but what’s their general love story line?

I hope you don’t take offense to my ask. It’s just I’m very interested in Myuna’s story and especially her love life. I personally don’t like the dragon prince, so I can’t even read your other works besides anchor

First off thank you for your kind words! Myself and others such as @kuno-chan have actually continued to write in that verse here and there but privately since we didn't think there'd be much of an audience for it, but it's good to know the Anchor love is still strong almost 10 years later!

For Myuna, I always figured she'd be very responsible and obedient — fun loving and mischievous, but always guided by a deep pride in her family and trust that they knew best. I think in my notes she's the one who spots the shipwreck, and they go and rescue the one survivor they find there, a boy around her age (a couple years older) named Chen. The crew takes him under their wing (because of course they do) and she and Chen become friends, even if he's a bit more stingy / mistrustful of her family than she'd like him to be, particularly of her father.

The idea was going to be eventually that he was working for a Sea witch who wanted revenge on them and had a hold over a spell that'd been cast on Jinora (for the 3rd anchor fic that never ended up happening) when the previous caster was murdered. And Chen goes with it because he's Zaheer and P'li's son, so obviously that carries some weight / issues.

Myuna is very angry at him when he 'betrays them' later, but they do work together to save her family, and he stays on with them as a crew member (and honestly probably eventually becomes her first mate once she's captain).

At the time I pictured it being a more straight forward romantic relationship even if romance never felt like a Priority for her, but since growing up and coming out, I actually do see Myuna being aroace and poly — I think she'd be interested in having multiple platonic partners, although in this verse, Chen would probably be her main if not her only.

But yeah if you're interested in more of my writing I'd recommend my original WIP sideblog @alvoskia since I have a book coming out in 2026 that features a similar "ragtag group of misfits" element to it + protagonist with anger issues and talks about mental health in a way that's reminiscent of Anchor!

I would also recommend giving The Dragon Prince another chance (depending on when you stopped watching, I always push for end of S2 at least) if only because the most recent season had an honest to god multiple episode plot line that gave me big "Paradise under Quil" vibes!

Not to mention Callum and Rayla's relationship reminds me of Anchor Kai and Jinora's in terms of like mental health and devotion and working on communication, but that's just me, maybe!

I'm kinda scared of saying I kin anything because I'm not sure how that works. if it's not too much trouble, could you explain it to me, please?

Ah man... It's complicated and the identity itself is massively decentralized so I'll do my best to kind of explain what I've been able to dig up and what it means to me. Most of this information was gathered from essays written by therians or animal/mythological beasts kin. There is not much information about or written by fictionkin, which is... a complex source of frustration for me.

So, at its core, otherkin is a spiritual identity. Nearly every essay I've read on it has very clearly stated in the opening paragraph that the author is fully aware that they are not physically the thing they are kin with. But there's this deep connection to the thing they kin ("resonance") that goes beyond it just being a way to say that character/animal/concept/etc is their absolute favorite. One essay I read ("We are spirits of another sort") that did touch on fictionkin a little described it as being an archetypal or metaphorical identity alongside being a spiritual one.

For example, with my relation to Sol, obviously I'm not actually physically him, he isn't real, and I wouldn't want to ever go through the things he's been through. But still it's uncanny how relatable he is and it's easy to sort of filter or explore myself through him, I guess. This is something I didn't realize I did with characters throughout my whole life until recently with Sol. It started as a bunch of jokes my friends made at my expense (lovingly, I promise) which made me look into otherkin stuff more and, yeah, that's apparently what this is.

To some people this identity can feel extremely real though. A sense that maybe in a past life they were the animal they have a connection to now as a human is a common one. Recurring themes in dreams too. Some others even get phantom limb sensations to varying degrees for limbs humans don't generally have (wings, tails, absent horns or antlers, etc). Not everyone gets these and those that do don't always experience them the same way. I get some of these but I'm not going to elaborate on them on this blog. This part of the identity specifically makes me wish there was a real scientific study done on it since there's definitely something neurological going on here.

I suppose if you see a lot of yourself in a character/animal/whatever then you might also be a type of otherkin too. I highly recommend looking for information on this identity outside of Tumblr though. Its meaning has been distorted a bit on here and there's a lot of weird drama around it with very little actual conversation. Making a private sideblog or journal to try to sort out your feelings and thoughts towards what you think you might be kin of has helped me a lot too.

A couple otherkin/therians have Neocities sites with essays on their experiences too. Doing a search for "otherkin" should bring them up. I'm replying to this on mobile or I'd link some, sorry...

Even if you read a lot about it or try applying the identity label to yourself for a bit and it doesn't work out, just remember that that's alright. It's good to test out and explore things and with something "open source" like otherkinity, there truly is no "wrong" way to identify with it. Just do what feels right or most comfortable to you.

Some briefer definitions:

Otherkin: This is a blanket term for all these kinds of identities but most often means someone kin with an animal, mythological beast (dragons, unicorns, demons, etc), or concept (weather patterns, inanimate objects). Conceptkin seem especially fringe.

Fictionkin: Otherkin with a fictional character or species. Formerly called "mediakin".

Therian: An exclusively animal-based identity. Almost shamanistic? The reincarnation aspect seems strongest with therians, with a feeling of an animal soul displaced in a human body.

hello! these were two separate messages but i'm going to answer them in one go to fully explain. i'm just operating under the assumption you've never heard of band rp before. this type of roleplay is bandom/band roleplay (band rp) which is, i suppose, a specific brand of celebrity roleplay that leans heavily into the music scene, often the alternative music scene, but it's open to all types of famous folks (actors, models, sportspeople, internet personalities, etc) as well as original characters. it differs from other types of tumblr roleplay in a few ways (it has evolved a lot over the years!). as per our plot page, we have a very simple plot. we're freelance, which means you can do pretty much whatever you wish. your character could run on their real life schedule or you can just have them at home, travelling... whatever you want. so in terms of an overall central plot from the group, there isn't one here, per se. you apply with your character blog, and once you're accepted you can follow the main blog, gossip blog, and all the other members. from there, you can interact on the dash with everyone and make your own posts as if your character is using a regular social media app. you can post more private, revealing information about your character on their sideblog, almost like a diary (which you can keep private or make public if you wish—some players choose to link them on their main blogs). the gossip blog (which, in this group, acts as a celebrity gossip website posting blind items) will use information from sideblogs to make posts and stir up drama. there are also forms to submit information about your own or other characters to the gossip blog. it gives the group a little bit of spice, particularly as we are freelance! when it comes to plotting with other characters or interacting privately, this is where google chats (formerly known as google hangouts) comes in. characters should have their chats username in their blog description somewhere, so it's easy for others to find. you can then hit them up on google chats and start talking! people often do this in character (ic) and simply talk to one another as if texting between characters, or alternatively you can message someone out of character (ooc) and ask if they're up for doing a specific plot. you're free to brainstorm whatever you want! some people have plot pages on their character blogs to give you ideas of what they're looking for, or they will make plot calls on the dash asking people to like their post if you'd want to plot with them. you can use google chats to progress your plots via 'texting' as mentioned, or as if your characters are having an in-person conversation, or go the traditional route and write scenes together (para). google chats is useful for this as you can use their spaces function to have 2 chats going with the same person. i personally often use this to have a para and a normal chat or ooc chat going at the same time. this answer is probably more than you bargained for but i think it covers all the basics! all the links to learn about our group are available on this page and if you're a 'newbie' to this type of roleplay (or any type of roleplay), we'd still love to have you! if anyone has further questions about how we work, please don't be scared to ask. no question is too silly!

Thinking about Ania and Marr meeting for first time leading up to the start of IA's Heart of Terror, something I had dabbled my thoughts into this change. The timeline in this verse were different than canon as Heart of Terror set a year before JK's Strike of the Desolator.

Anyways, the idea sorta started when Jadus had mentioned about their own personal Hand in passing note regarding the Empire business but Ania's identity remained mysterious and private. Jadus preferred to keep Ania for themselves but Marr was determined to learn the identity on who is the Hand of Jadus knowing it wasn't Lord Rivix who worked exclusively with them.

When questioned, Jadus was rather... protective, or should we say possessive over Ania. They didn't want anyone to get closer to her.

Marr took some digging around (with Lana's assistance) and they were informed it was a 'Cipher Nine' through a redacted profile, though Marr was surprised to learn her identity through the profile database with her parents' name listed.

Marr and Ania did see each other face to face for the first time when she left Jadus' office. Later on, Jadus departed in the Dominator and commanded Ania to enter the Dark Temple to deal with the dissidents on their order, Marr and their advisors watched the Eagle's broadcast and requested Intelligence HQ for Ania.

Upon returning, Ania was told with a warning by Keeper that a Dark Councillor summoned Ania to meet them in their office at the Sith HQ, she doesn't understand why nor what was going on because the Keeper looked wary and nervous.

As they met for first time more properly, despite the lingering glances before, Ania wanted to know what was going on--she was taken aback by Marr communicating with her through Imperial Sign Language.

Ania prodded for answer on why she's being summoned and asked if it to do with the Dark Temple, worried if she was reprimanded for the breach of entry into the Dark Temple because it was completely offlimits to everyone but Emperor, Dark Council and higest ranking Sith.

Marr was aware the decision was Jadus' alone--they had their own reasonings. Though, the debriefing wasn't why she's here, Marr showed her the Eagle broadcast confirming the Dominator's destruction and Jadus' 'death'. Marr studied her reaction and body language, Ania kept her emotions to herself but stiffened upon the news about Jadus.

She wasn't really sure what to think or how to react to the news--staying true to her professionalism. Was she supposed to act happy, sad, shocked or not? She did had a relationship with Jadus--she knows they had been a huge part in her life for the past two years, so she has mixed emotions towards the news.

Of course this changed things and it meant that Marr is stepping in temporary to become the handler and oversee Ania's mission until a new Sith Lord get appointed to Sphere of Intelligence in couple of months.

This paves way for Zhorrid not being included in Agent story and replaced with Marr to play the bigger role in Ania's story. This could meant Ania may have companions who 100% replaces Kaliyo and Vector.

Fast forward to epilogue, Jadus was really peeved when Marr offered their hand in marriage as one of Ania's suitors because they became more aware of Ania and Jadus' relationship. And guess who Ania choose to marry? Marr.

Now I think about it, this added more fuel to the fire on the rivalry drama between Marr and Jadus.

Also, Marr would put Ania's health priorities first to pull her out of the mission (due to being informed about Watcher X).... but Ania politely declined the offer to step down and determined to keep going while she was still in shock over the blood test revealed her 'cryptic' pregnancy.

Her first love is the true reason she’s the Unwed Bride. Lala's grooms never leave her. She always call things off with them because she’s never been able to let go of her love. Lala chose to become a Fate because Fates aren't supposed to be able to love, and she wanted to stop loving him, to let him go. But she can't.

She tries to fall for others, but no matter how close she comes to falling in love, there's still only one person that she wants to give her heart to. And there's only one way for that to happen, by opening the Valory.

As the Unwed Bride, LaLa cries poisoned tears with the power to kill someone by breaking their heart. The Unwed Bride is able to make the cure for her poison. The victim needs close physical contact for at least a full day for the cure to take though.
