Considering the hostilities between the two going back over a year, it shouldn’t come as any surprise to know that Tenille Dashwood and Tessa Blanchard skipped the feeling out process and both women instead went straight for causing as much damage as they could. Dashwood ended up getting the better of the initial exchange as she almost shocked the world. As soon as the bell sounded, both women ran towards each other but Dashwood shockingly hit the Spotlight Kick as the first attack of the match. Luckily for Blanchard, she was able to kick out at two. Considering her ego, losing in a matter of seconds would have been devastating for the challenger.

Following the near fall, Dashwood attempted the stump piledriver, but Blanchard was finally up to speed after the fast start from the defending champion. From then on, the match was considerably more even with both women having chances to finish the match, but being unable to get the killing blow. Blanchard was on high alert for the Spotlight Kick and before long, Dashwood stopped even attempting the move. Blanchard was much for persistent with her search for the Ace of Diamonds.

Dashwood did get caught of couple of times, but on each occasion was able to survive and kick out to keep her title reign alive. Unsurprisingly, with both women proving to be each others equal, Blanchard decided the victory was more important than the method. With Chelsea Green and Indi Hartwell both trying to get involved, the official has her hands full. The mayhem proved to be decisive as Blanchard was able to use her Artist of Stardom championship to do considerable damage to Dashwood.

Despite having the chance to do so, Blanchard didn’t go for the knockout with the title belt, instead she just weakens her opponent with a shot to the spine. She wants the victory to be clear cut. A hammerlock ddt, followed by the Ace of Diamonds leaves Dashwood prone and in trouble. Once again seeing her name in the headlines, Blanchard scales the ropes and leaps for the Diamond Breaker. Much to the horror of Blanchard though, Dashwood is able to connect with a boot to the stomach and a quick stump piledriver.

Luckily for Blanchard, the damage done with the Artist of Stardom championship belt is enough to prevent the Australian from making a cover. Knowing she needs to do more, Dashwood goes for a second, but Blanchard fights free and hits another Ace of Diamonds before once again scaling the ropes. This time there is no mistake as Blanchard connects with the Diamond Breaker. Showing she learned her lesson the first time they met, Blanchard doesn’t even attempt the humiliating cover and instead hooks both legs for a deep pin, giving Dashwood no chance of kicking out and ending the reign at defense number eighteen.

Starting to get weighed down in championship gold, a victorious Tessa Blanchard is quickly joined in the ring after the match by both Indi Hartwell and Chelsea Green for the celebrations to begin. But before that, Blanchard can’t resist finally getting the moment she has been trying for all this time. Arrogantly, Blanchard places a foot on the chest of Dashwood and raises her newly won TNA Digital Media Championship over her head. It took considerably longer than Blanchard expected, but finally, she got what she wanted. Diamonds really are forever.

TNA Shakeup - Fightful Select

Early details on major TNA shakeup

Anthony Cicione is in, Scott D'Amore is out as President of TNA Wrestling.

Fightful confirmed that talent and staff were informed of the move today, with some finding out this morning.

Currently staff and talent are on a zoom call to discuss the move.

One talent said they believed Anthem wanted the brand to be more closely associated with them as opposed to D'Amore, and when we asked another about that they said "I can see that, but he saved TNA."

We'll be posting more as we get details. 

Anthem posted the following: "Anthem Sports & Entertainment Inc., a global multi-platform media company, announced today the appointment of Anthony Cicione as the President of TNA Wrestling.

The move aims to further integrate TNA Wrestling into Anthem’s Entertainment Group, of which Cicione is the President, leveraging the entire Company’s resources to add more value in areas including production, distribution, marketing, viewership, customer acquisition, digital revenue streams, ad sales and sponsorships, digital tech operations, and more.

Cicione replaces Scott D’Amore, whose contract with Anthem has been terminated. D’Amore has been a part of TNA since 2003. He held many key leadership positions and played a vital role in the growth of the company leading to its strong industry reputation today, including the successful return of the TNA Wrestling brand in 2024. Anthem thanks him for the commitment he brought to the business, the talent, and the people who work outside the ring.

In addition to these duties as President of Entertainment, Cicione will now manage the day-to-day business operations for TNA Wrestling. He brings more than 30 years of executive-level management experience to the organization. Cicione has been with Anthem for the last 16 years, managing technical operations and multiple cable and digital channels. Prior to his time with Anthem, Cicione was a producer of sports content including catapulting The Score to success by bringing WWE to the channel."
