What ages do you think each GP member was shipped out?
I have a headcanon that the older members (Oliver, zack, Paula) are neurodivergent because they were shipped at a young age and probably didn’t do well at standardized testing of grand valley because they have been at goldy pond for years
(rather than months compared to some newer members. I think Pepe was the most recent?)
You're right about Pepe!

(Chapter 69 & 70 Extras | Mystic Code Book Chapter 3 Q&A)
He's the only one whose shipment age is officially confirmed.
My guesses:
1. Adam: 14 at most, but probably younger (shipped in late 2045) 2. Gillian: 7/8 (2038) 3. Nigel: 8/9 (2038) 4. Oliver: 9/10 (2037; confirmed to have been at GP the longest out of the group, chapter 69 says he's somewhere between these ages when he's shipped) 5. Paula: 9 (2037) 6. Pepe: 16 (2045) 7. Sandy: 12 (2040) 8. Sonya: 9 (Early 2038) 9. Theo: 12 (Late 2045/January 2046) 10. Violet: 10-12 (2042-2044) 11. Zack: 10 (2037)
Without exact dates, the ages and years might be a bit off because I'm mostly focusing on their birth years, but within a year of error hopefully for everyone except Sandy and Violet, for whom I have the least amount of information to go off of so it's just personal vibes.
Reasoning under the cut:
Oliver, Paula, and Zack have been a part of the most recent incarnation of the Goldy Pond Resistance the longest, with Oliver being there the longest out of the three per the chapter 69 extra since he was either nine or ten. We also see flashbacks of them together.
(Chapter 85 | Chapter 95)
From here, all we have to go on is the "Two Wills" story of the third light novel that focuses on Gillian and Nigel.
In this conversation with Emma on January 29, 2046, Nigel says it took him eight years to create one of the guns they use in their plan.
I'm assuming the ages provided in the extras are their ages on the day they met Emma, so a few months later on March 27 of that year Nigel turns seventeen. 2045 (when he's sixteen) minus eight is 2037, when he's eight years old, but without exact dates and rounding going on this could also be in 2038 when he's nine.
Depending on how long it took Oliver and companions to recognize his technical knowledge, which probably wasn't more than a few hunts in.
Similar to how it didn't take long for Gillian's sister to be recruited for the cause.
Gillian and Nigel arrived at Goldy Pond within a few days of each other, if not on the same day, for the two of them, Nigel's younger sister Lala, and Emilia to all experience their first hunt together. Gillian is a year younger than Nigel, so she's shipped to Goldy Pond when she's seven/eight.
"A boy a little older than [Nigel]" is referring to Oliver, who's already shown an aptitude for leadership for him to start taking on the duty of announcements to the new arrivals, couldn't have been there for too much longer than Nigel, so my guess is he arrived at Goldy Pond in 2037 around the time he turned nine.
Sonya is also shown to have arrived before Nigel and Gillian, yet she arrived after Oliver, Paula, and Zack, as she's not featured in any of those early flashbacks with them, so my guess is she also arrived in the first half of 2038 before she turned ten on June 3 of that year.

This only thing that throws me off with all this is this page from chapter 77 because of how small and young Lala looks at the time of her death while Nigel looks like he's the same as he does in the present.
And shortly after she's murdered is when Gillian and Nigel go off on their own to try and kill Luce with an unfinished gun and fail, but the description makes it sound like it's near completion with the damage it's able to do to Luce's mask. It's hard to say, but with the light novel being published in October 2020 and the Goldy Pond arc being published in 2018, it's possible they retconned Lala into being older, or that there was actually a much larger gap between then and Nigel finally perfecting the weapon and ammunition.
But whenever this incident occurs, Sandy has also been around long enough to be integrated into the Resistance.
As this is the only time he's mentioned throughout the entire light novel. Violet's only mentioned during the conversations in the present day when Emma's talking to Gillian and Nigel about their pasts, so it seems safe to say she's the newest member of the Resistance after Pepe and has probably been with them for at least a year, so she was shipped out in 2044 at the latest.
My arbitrary designation for her shipment is sometime between 2042 and 2044 because of my personal headcanon that she only realized she was a trans girl after being shipped out, but she's had enough time to settle into her identity in her new environment surrounded by the new friends who support her. With the farms acting as institutions of violent oppression, I like the symbolism of kids coming into themselves once they've been removed from those restrictive environments they grew up in when they were unaware of the reality of their world.
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 3)
Your headcanon of neurodivergence being a factor in determining which kids are shipped out early before 17 at Grand Valley could also fall into this, which I think is cool. Thrown away due to narrow, arbitrary metrics of success, and becoming the menace that dismantles them thanks to the very reasons they were discarded.
Back to Sandy, he has to arrive sometime before Violet, so 2040 when he's 12. Just because.
Finally, there's Adam, who was at Lambda at least until November 2045 because he sees Norman there.

(Chapter 75)
But he has to have been at Goldy Pond for a bit for him to become the doorman for the resistance, so he was probably sent there in November or December of 2045.

(Chapter 72 | Chapter 73 | Mystic Code Book Chapter 3 Q&A)
Lambda 7214 did not exist fifteen years ago when James left this message, and the timeline in the mystic code book doesn't provide us with a date for when it was completed, though it's probably in the 2030s.
(Mystic Code Book Chapter 5)
With the experiments that take place at Lambda resulting in Hayato and Jin being born two days before Conny's shipment on October 12, 2045, and having them look as old as teenagers in October 2047 when Emma's group meets them, Adam could be anywhere from one to fourteen when he arrives at Goldy Pond. I go with eleven if I'm indulging in the Adam and Norman are twins theory.

Why you ship Ray & Emma? (I'm also a rayemma shiper btw :3 )
There are numerous reasons why I ship them, some of those reason will might foolish / selfish but here we go. (Sorry this answer might be a little long😅)
First things first:
I would like to establish that this post isn't a hate crime against other TPN ships.
You like NorEmma? Wonderful! NorRay? Good! REN (aka: NorRayEmma)? Great! Or any other (reasonable) ship? Yay! Good for you!
Hop on buddies, this is an ocean cruiser with multiple floors and lots of spaces. Dear tpn community, y'all are welcome on board🥰.
Also... I only ship them under these terms:
-In canon: I age them up, because using their canon ages would be weird.
-Story set in Post-canon, in the Human World is okay.
-No 18+ scenes. Under no circumstances I'm willing to write/draw/read a scene like that. Kissing is fine though 🥰.
Now with that settled, I continue with...
Reasons why I ship RayEmma:
1) Their overall dynamic:
Ray sassing over every decision Emma made (for the sole purpose to improve her plan) in season 1 was so funny to me. I natural fond of sassy, book-smart characters so yeah. Emma bubbly, hopeful and naive (in season 1) personality completing Ray's so perfectly.
Then in the manga, they're like the ultimate power couple for me. Goldy Pond was Emma's time to shine as an individual and Ray was 100000% supportive and didn't get jealous of her successes.
In the King of Paradise Arc. Yes Ray kinda agrees with Norman to kill all demons but I think he just tried to act as the moderator between his two friends so their friendship doesn't receive a lethal blow. After the argument he seeks out where is Emma and reassures her that whatever she decides he will support her decision. (What is intimate if not that?)
Seven Walls is the RayEmma Arc of tpn and you can't change my mind about it 🤣. Was my favourite Arc when I first read it and it always will be. Surviving a bored Demon God mind plays and stepping into its realm together (while holding hand I might ad)
2) Day and Night allegations:
Even Shirai and Demizu brings up this allegation. They usually using it around either Mujika and Sonju or Emma and Ray. Which speaks volumes for me.
Search for Kvathidala Arc proves this when they go to the demon temples and stand under the painted ceiling.
3) They remind me of my favourite couple of my childhood Anne and Gilbert.
Anne from Green Gables was the book I read over and over in my childhood then I watched all the adaptations on either on my mom's (old) CDs or in the internet and they were a really big part of my early teens. Netflix's remake is good too but the book is the best.
Favourite scenes which screams RayEmma to me.
Where do I even start. The PARALLELS🤩
🖤🧡
Gilbert called Anne 'Carrot' so she hit him with a clay board (in book she brakes it on his head)
Then a few months later day are casually talking and dancing (denying their feelings if you ask me🤣)
Also I'm a sucker for couples where one of them has red/light hair and the other has black/dark hair.
4) Easy to relate. Easy to write:
When writing my tpn fanfic their interactions almost writes itself. Somehow it feels natural to me how they interact. Maybe it's just my overthinking, but I got pretty good in analysing how their scenes should go. No matter if it's a fight scene, trauma bonding, late night quarrelling over a book or just a casual heart-to-heart.
5) Silly reason:
My username's colour palette kinda matches their colours.

Day 22: New Dreams for the @tpn-month-2025!!!
And then Emma found herself questioning how much more of herself would she need to forget to get them to laugh a little louder. How much of herself she would change to get them to smile a little wider. It horrified Emma, just how willing she was to destroy everything she’d ever been to please them.
‘How much more do they need from me?’ somewhere along the line became ‘how much more do they want?’
The person Emma had built out of nothing over these past two years seemed so insignificant now. The girl who had dealt with lonely nights all alone with no idea of who she had been or would ever be. The curiosity she had cultivated from somewhere in the remains of her soul, the determination she had dragged back from the depths of her mind— all of that work to make herself into someone she could be proud of meant nothing.
Because Emma loved those strangers that were supposed to be her family more than herself and it was terrifying.
a continuation of sorts for Day 21: growing up
which you can read here!!

children of the rune getting a webtoon series...oh how I longed for it to happen
PART 2. I would go as far to say the part 2 of this is my favorite piece out of all the Kr fantasy novels I've read (tbh I haven't read so much of those but still) the main trio of this story has a very tight bond and an interesting dynamic, I can't wait to see it drawn out eventually!
oh, if you like the tpn trio I think the dynamics are quite similar!! Maybe it could be a little like having a more naive? norman as the protagonist. (genius white hair boy who constantly puts himself to near-death situations for the sake of others, bro who wants to save his butt and gets frustrated at said boy's antics, and a strong-willed girl who gets stuck in the mess but tries her best to get those two boys and herself out of trouble) The white hair boy even devises a theory to overthrow an existing government at the age of 9 in order to save his family and it actually comes through.
I reread the novels last year and I was crying about how it should get a comic series and an anime, well, part 1 of the story(with a different plotline and protagonist) is getting one soon, so I'm sure this will too!
I'm like the only one who talks about this in this website for now but you'll see how cool it is 'v') it'll be a bit sad to see my stuff being buried but it deserves all the recognition
#children of the rune#josua is such a intriguing character though#it's nice to see an artistic introvert be a hero of a story#he's really pure and unaware of the world to some degree as well as being a genius.. that puts him in a lot of interesting situations#I drew out a lot of the scenes from this novel last year!#doodle

182 Days of TPN - Day 106
Chapter 106: “The Way Out”
Years ago I wondered who among the main cast would have the audacity to actually kill another human if the opportunity ever presented itself and my two biggest possibilities around the time of ch171 were Ray and Isabella, since the latter had recently made a grand return. Obviously not gonna chat about mom at the moment (shocking, I know), but this chapter was one of the biggest reasons why I could’ve seen Ray pull off such an act. He expresses such an intense amount of rage that we’ve seen several times before whenever his family was in danger and it helps showcase how seriously Ray took his promise to protect them by any means necessary. The idea of killing a human isn’t new to him either, as he’s previously thought of taking out Isabella, Krone, and even Yuugo in order to keep his family safe.
It’s not only about physically protecting his family either, but emotionally and mentally as well. He’s willing to shoulder all the pain himself if it’ll grant everyone else a chance to live guilt free, whether that ranges from keeping the GF farm a secret so they could live normal, happy lives or finding the resolve to kill off another human so his family won’t have the blood on their own hands. (& of course just because i think my boy would be able to score a kill doesn’t mean i necessarily would want him to. he’s suffered enough thank you.)
We have a knight in shining armor this chapter and his name is Rossi who comes in with a big save.
Seriously, this little guy deserves so much praise for eavesdropping on the enemy’s advances and memorizing them so the children can hopefully avoid any conflict and make an easier escape.
Yes, just like that. Good boy. Now pat his head. He deserves it.
The series may not allow the kids to improve their kill count, but the adults are fair game and Lucas scores one.
Bro help, the parents are telling white lies to their kids.
BRO HELP, now the parents are learning from their kids and acting self-sacrificial.
Favorite panel/moment:
THEM. Half because yay GP trio, but also because having one of GP’s best fighters along with a sniper would provide wonderful backup.. if Lucas actually needed it anyways.
And the relief on their faces when they finally see him okay.
The kids being so determined to stay behind and help, along with not one but two wholesome headpats! Especially with Ray being on the receiving end for a change. But aahh, that sad smile of Yuugo’s hurts.
End of volume 12.

I'm sitting in the kitchen with my grandparents. It's breakfast time, 2006, and I'm watching their routine for what seems like the hundredth time. Activia, a piece of toast, black coffee, a large glass of water, and supplements. Eye health, brain health, calcium, vitamin D; a cocktail of supplements for a couple in their 70s. Adjusted and evolved over the past fifteen years, accounting for new conditions, old conditions, and eventualities not yet presenting themselves. My goal every weekend was to be like them, one day-healthy enough that I only needed supplements that became required with age, rather than illness or incidence. Everyone gets older, but between the two of them there had only been one hip surgery (my grandfather) and an extremely well maintained case of diabetes. They moved whenever they wanted to, roughly every four years it seemed like, and lived comfortably (you know, the species of grandparent that seems to be “endangered” in our current economy.) They could afford things like adding a skylight, taking their motor home on vacations to the beach, or even cross-country whenever they wanted to.
They could afford their vitamins.
My grandfather worked as a manager of a JCPenney, went to college, franchised a couple of restaurants and ended up with a retirement fund from a forgiving economy, one that I can no longer even aspire to a fraction of.
They could afford their vitamins.
At age thirteen, I wanted to move whenever I wanted. Convert a den into a library, add a skylight if I felt like, spend the summer in Europe, save money to send my future children to college wherever they wanted.
At age thirty-one, I want to get coffee once a month, I want my shoes and socks to last one more season, I want to be able to afford the only facewash that doesn’t irritate my almost laughably sensitive skin. At age thirty-one I need a very similar regimen to my grandparents, just to maintain a body that is threatening to start falling apart by age forty. Of the five supplements I need to maintain this falling-apart body, I can afford one. An extra twelve dollars a month, recommended by my doctor to lengthen the usefulness of my joints, and deemed "unnecessary" by my insurance. It's all available over the counter. It's all affordable. It's readily available.
And yet.
Twelve dollars a month. Twelve dollars a month, and I'll have a cool five dollars left in my account if I'm lucky, and add water to my hand-soap to stretch it a couple of extra weeks. Just enough that I can roll it over and maybe get a new toothbrush sooner than the already-pushing-it eighteen months I usually have to stretch it out. No one on the bureaucratic side of insurance is willing to admit or even recognize how expensive it is to be ill. Being disabled in America is a “liability” to the economy-I’m too expensive to treat, too expensive to "fix." If I succumb to my illnesses- “what a shame.” I am a number, a statistic. I am "due to complications based on pre-existing conditions" and if I disappear from the system, I no longer cost money and they’ve accounted for that.
For an extreme, but unfortunately realistic example, Vitamin K deficiency. If you have a vitamin K deficiency, you could die. If you’re in the hospital with it, sure. They can add it to your TPN, you’ll get back to safety, and they can release you to your own devices. Your insurance will cover this treatment, because you’re already in the hospital. The second you leave, though, it’s up to you. God forbid you're on state aid, because potassium is a vitamin, and vitamins are not a necessity, not matter how dire your need may be. Surely you can afford a vitamin? Surely you don't need toothpaste or shampoo or socks or toilet paper? Maybe if you were more frugal. Maybe if you only eat three times a week instead of every day, you could save the money for your vitamins: “Ten money-saving tips so you can survive another month.”
You could disappear from the system and you will no longer cost them money, you could just be another statistic-they've accounted for "losses" and deaths due to complications from pre-existing conditions. Go ahead, go without treatment. They've done the math. Cancer affects their statistics every day. Kidney disease is fatal, and frankly you should have been more careful. Diabetes really isn’t that serious, if you control your diet and develop willpower and make sure you’re born with a very manageable type.
Don't worry, they've done the math. Your loss has been calculated, you won't ruin their numbers, they’ve accounted for eventualities like yours.
The true irony (and idiocy) is it would be cheaper for them to cover vitamins for my maintenance than it would be to cover surgical intervention or the long-term care that will occur without covering preventative care for me now. If I could get regular physical therapy or acupuncture or any therapy recommended for my “quality of life” I could join the workforce, work longer hours, do more labor-intensive jobs and contribute to the economy they’re trying so hard to maintain by denying every claim I send them. If there was support in place for people with disabilities…if there was affordable housing and accessible healthcare and even coverage for alternative therapies.
I could work.
I could thrive.
I could afford my goddamn vitamins.

I’ve always loved the idea of Norman and Ray getting together during the search for Emma but not wanting to do much until they find Emma because they both love her as well and want her there. But I’m never sure how Emma losing her memories would said relationship and plans afterwords
Oooo Anon I don't know if you're the same person who sent this Norray ask but if you haven't read @salsae's (so what am I defending now?) I highly recommend it because I've essentially taken it as canon and reread it probably once a month.

Beautifully written with loving nuance, her work was (and still is <3) foundational for my interpretations of the trio when I first got into the series in 2021 and was searching for quality fanfic.
In regards to how Emma's memory loss would play into things, I think they'd all have good and bad days at first. A balance of being grateful they defied the odds to have a chance of creating a future they can be proud of together at all, of Emma being alive and well and living life with Alex, of being reacquainted with all the things big and small that made them fall in love with her and having the opportunity to love new ones. Of reconnecting with these two boys who for reasons her mind can't explain but her heart knows without a shadow of a doubt feel like home.
(Chapter 180)
Of perceived selfish grief over wishing Emma would regain her memories when a confused look is thrown their way after they reference something from their childhood (isn't it enough that she's there?). Of self-doubt that she'll ever be able to live up to the Emma everyone loved or relearn the language she sees the boys communicate without words, of seeing what she believes is a brief flicker of hope die in everyone's eyes when she reminds them of all the little ways she's not her (is it more cruel they found her instead of being able to believe their Emma lives on somewhere in distant lands?), of anger over having those memories just within her reach only for her dreams to deny her each time.
But as the days turn to months and the months turn to years, things get better. The sentiments Emma shares in chapter 180 hold true.
Only now today and tomorrow is by their sides.

I headcanon that at first Ray is adamantly against the use of nicknames and pet names for himself because he thinks it's silly.
"My name is Ray. It's literally three letters and one syllable long. Just call me Ray."
But Emma can't let that stand. She has "sunshine" and "Em," Norman has "Nor," "Norm," and "Boss."
So her proposed solution is for Ray to change his name so that "Ray" can be a nickname and show of affection. Ray balks at the suggestions she litters throughout their conversations, addressing him as Raymond, Rayner, even Raybert at one point.
Norman is more deft in his timing so the first time he drops a "Raymond" during one of their chess matches he ends up on the receiving end of Ray channeling Isabella with this look
He does eventually come around to them calling him Sunray.

Do you think that Isabella has always thougth that Ray was planing something while asking all those rewards (and not using them a lot). I feel that she knew that he was going to do something just before his shippement but thought she could handle it. Maybe she was even sure that he was the one to push Norman and Emma to go to the gate this day (the reason she called him a traitor later). That he planned to escape with them since 6 years. Even the night of the escape, before all starts, she still felt that Ray could do something to not be eaten by demons (and she was so right even if she didn't thought that he would do THAT).
I wonder if a little part of her, that she didn't want to acknowledge, was hoping that her son could do what she couldn't and could escape the same fate than Leslie. Because a part of her would have be broken to give her own child to demons.
And i'm sure she was relieved to know that Ray survived his 12th birthday. Even if she couldn't know if he was still alive until his return almost 2 years later (even if Peter Ratri would have take pleasure to tell her that her son was dead)
I agree with the first paragraph since Isabella confirms as much in her monologue at the beginning of chapter 33:

Her not suspecting Ray was willing to sacrifice his own life for the escape is a major component of their plan.
I wonder if a little part of her, that she didn't want to acknowledge, was hoping that her son could do what she couldn't and could escape the same fate as Leslie.
This I disagree with, but it's largely pedantic around the use of "hope" because Isabella's entire modius operandi at Grace Field was based on her killing the hope she entertained in the months between discovering the truth about the house and her shipment.

(TPN Light Novel 2: Moms’ Song of Remembrance - “The Starry Sky and Leslie’s List” Chapter 9 | Chapter 25)
She's fully entrenched in upholding the farm system because going at this from Emma's perspective—that escape is possible and there is a world outside of Grace Field for humans—stands as an affront to everything she's given up, and it's a terrifying and enraging concept after two decades of knowing the truth.
At the same time, it also breaks up the monotony of her life at the house, and one of the many bonuses of reread/rewatching the series is seeing how she alternates between amusement at potentially the first challenge she's had in years and rage and jealousy at her children's earnest conviction in their plan when she had been so thoroughly denied the same at her age.
And it isn't enough for her to just stop their escape. In one of the most harrowing scenes of the arc, she goes to Emma at her lowest point to convince her to accept the same fate as all the moms before her.

(Chapter 31)
Essentially copying my tags from this post, but regardless of whether you believe Isabella genuinely loved the children in her care, framing this as part of an entirely selfless act for the sake of ensuring Emma's survival is disingenuous. Isabella's worldview was on the line too, and even if she would choose to dismantle the farm system if it was within her power to do so at the time, it didn't change the reality she was born into and lived for years.
The sooner Emma accepted that, the sooner they could both return to an illusion of peace.
I don't regard Isabella as a reliable narrator when it comes to Ray in the second light novel, and while I do believe his death would be conflicting for her (illustrated in her "has it been twelve years already? Or twelve years at last?" line in chapter 33), I also believe she treated it as a forgone conclusion that she viewed with a mix of detached sadness and relief. The tragedy of him having his life cut short like so many children before him mitigated by no longer having the living, breathing reminder of the worst violence the farm system inflicted upon her in her daily life, and the brief, wistful musings of what their life could have been like in a kinder world when all that was left was the memory of him that could become fonder with distance.
Because a part of her would have been broken to give her own child to demons.
This I also agree with, but I think we're coming at this from different angles since I don't see it as her being broken by the loss of Ray as an individual she's nurtured and witnessed growing into his own person, but rather as being confronted with the aforementioned acts of violence she endured at headquarters and how much of herself she had to sacrifice to the system in order to survive, a reminder that she will never truly be free under the demons, no matter how deep she finds herself in the fantasy of the house.
And I'm sure she was relieved to know that Ray survived his 12th birthday. Even if she couldn't know if he was still alive until his return almost 2 years later
Agreed, and it's something that surprises her at first and makes her reflect on her treatment of him over the years.
(TPN Light Novel 2: Moms’ Song of Remembrance - “The Starry Sky and Leslie’s List” Chapter 9 | Chapter 25)
She spent so much time convincing herself she held no maternal affection for him because of what he uniquely represented to her, but after being humbled by him and the rest of her children, she accepts what she did to him and all the reasons why she did it, from the ones that could be construed as noble to her selfish and petty ones.
It's why she chides herself for even wondering if he would sing the lullaby she passed down to him outside of Grace Field's walls. How vain of her to wish what it represented to her unto him when it served as a reminder of all she denied him.

Hello!! I'm really sorry, but could you do a summary of the Krone and Isabella light novels? I can't find anywhere to read them. thank you so much!!
No need to apologize, happy to help!
I've talked about the contents of the first light novel here. Almost all of it is available either translated in text or via sound dramas with English subtitles. The exception is the "NER in Bird Cages" story, which is only available in English as a summary.
I've provided a general overview of the second light novel here, as well a link to the masterlist of TPN content for the English-speaking fandom. The first half is dedicated to Isabella, and the second half to Krone, though if you've read chapter 181.2, you'll already be familiar with most of it.
If one of the stories is part of the content of a post, I'll usually tag it as light novels, the title of the light novel in question, and the title of the specific story. (e.g., TPN Light Novels + Moms' Song of Remembrance + The Starry Sky and Leslie's List)
Here's all the light novels laid out with their story tags (with the exception of the fourth one because I've only read the half that's translated):
Light Novel 1: A Letter from Norman
• "The Ghost Incidents at Grace Field House" - Norman reminiscences about his earliest memory with Emma and Ray, when they were about three or four, trying to solve the mystery of the spooky occurrences around the house. • "The Day Emma Cried" - Norman recalls an incident when he was about seven and became terribly ill retrieving Emma’s handkerchief during a rainstorm. Thinking he’s on death’s doorstep, with Isabella’s permission (to both appease Emma and test Ray’s loyalty), Emma and Ray go out to find the miracle cure, a white flower that only blooms at night. • "NER in Bird Cages" - Norman muses how he's never seen Ray cry before he remembers the incident where they rescued an injured bird sometime after Emma's ninth birthday. Ray deals with the grief of not being able to save his beloved older sister, Susan, if he wants to save Emma's and Norman's lives. • "A Gift from the 39th Girl" - The Grace Field kids secretly work on putting together a gift for Norman’s eleventh birthday.
Light Novel 2: Moms' Song of Remembrance
• "The Starry Sky and Leslie's List" - Isabella's story where she remembers helping Leslie with a list of goals he set out to accomplish over the course of two days before he's shipped out. She also reflects on her relationships with Ray and Sarah. • "Searching for the Skies of Freedom" - Krone's story; chapter 181.2 is a retelling of this.
Light Novel 3: Records of Comrades
• "Two Paths" - The story of how Lucas and Yuugo's group acquired the tea set we see Yuugo with in the bunker, interspersed with scenes of Lucas interacting with Emma and Yuugo interacting with Ray during the present timeline. • "Two Wills" - Gillian and Nigel's story of their earlier days at Goldy Pond when they both lost their sisters, Lala and Emilia. • "Two Destinies" - The story of how Mujika and Sonju met and how Leuvis inadvertently ended the farm system and thousand-year promise because he was bored.
Light Novel 4: Films of Memories
• "The Days to Celebrate" • "Operation Stormy Night" - The Grace Field children reminiscence about the night their older siblings helped them feel safe during a particularly bad storm. • "Ray and Conny" - The Grace Field kids are telling Emma about their life at Grace Field house when Conny comes up. Ray recalls to himself how he helped three-year-old Conny adjust to sleeping in the larger shared bedrooms with some indirect help from Susan. It's a story only he and Norman know now. • "The Chess Proverb" - Ray teaches Norman how to play chess, and Emma and Norman join in a match with Ray against Isabella. Serves as a metaphor for how each of them approaches a problem and how they balance each other out when they work together. • "Don and Gilda" • "The Guiding Star" - The story that explains how the trio got on the roof for the chapter 119 cover art and the comfort they each draw from the stars.

Finally, here's my general tag navigation page that's hopefully accessible on mobile as well as desktop.
#if not ig I'll have to make an actual post instead#been meaning to do that for all my short-form essay posts/longer responses#in the event people want have an easier time sorting through those without having to scroll through the entire FSS Chatter tag#FSS Asks#FSS Chatter#The Promised Neverland#TPN Light Novels#A Letter from Norman#Moms' Song of Remembrance#The Starry Sky and Leslie's List#Searching for the Skies of Freedom#TPN 181.2#Records of Comrades#Films of Memories#The Guiding Star#TPN Isabella#TPN Krone#Long Post#TPN 119#The Chess Proverb#The Ghost Incidents at Grace Field House#The Day Emma Cried#NER in Bird Cages#A Gift from the 39th Girl#TPN Two Paths#TPN Two Wills#TPN Two Destinies#TPN Ray and Conny (Light Novel Story)#probably ended up being way longer of an answer than you wanted anon my bad

FSS' TPN Journey Timeline:
March 26, 2021: On a whim put TPN S1 episode 1 on at 1am, become immediately engrossed by the end of the first episode but cut it off after episode 6 because it's now 4am and I need to go to bed. Pick it back up again 12 hours later because I have to know what happens next.
March 27-30, 2021: Read starting from chapter 38 until the end of the series after asking some friends what they thought of S2 that had literally just wrapped up two days ago and gathering the general consensus that S2 was Not Good while avoiding spoilers other than the S2 promotional poster art. I watched S2 episode 1 and then read the corresponding chapters, watched S2 episode 2 and read the corresponding chapters, watched S2 episode 3 and read the corresponding chapters and realized this was where the canon divergence came in, so from that point I stuck to reading just the manga before going back to the anime.
March 31, 2021: I enjoy the series enough I'm willing to drop 130USD on a copy of the S1 blu-ray.
April 2021: I find @1000sunnygo' blog and discover she's translating all of the behind the scenes information presented in the mystic code book. There's two chapters out at this point so I regularly keep up with new posts throughout the year. I am a kid in a candy store with all the informative, new-to-me content being shared not for monetary gain but just a genuine appreciation for the series.
December 29, 2021: The technical official start date of this blog when I debated whether to commit to having a side blog or to continue brainrotting on main.
February 14, 2022: After nearly a year of having this series occupying my idle attention, I feel like it's worth having a side blog and share my first shitpost.
Happy anniversary to my binging this series and it claiming my heart 🥳💜🧡💙🎉
Somehow I managed to avoid all of the spoilers other than “the orphanage is a farm” for years and only got into it the day before the S2 finale aired. I didn’t think I’d become so smitten, randomly deciding to watch an episode of S1 because it was recommended by Netflix in the wee hours of the morning, and yet here I am a year later, still incredibly endeared to it.
#such a cute pic edit lkjfvkdf ty Snickers and everyone's who's shared kind sentiments 💖💝💗#me when I pull a Ray and celebrate two different TPN start anniversaries instead of the actual blog anni#potentially belaboring the whole concept for some people but I don't like to make side blogs if I think the interest is fleeting or fickle#has to be 110% mental illness or more lol#something holds my default/idle attention with that amount of intensity for that prolonged a period of time:#uh oh! new core media#sometimes I think it's unfortunate to have missed the series during its 2019 heyday#but also after hearing about some of the shit that happened within the fandom during this time from various sources: hmm maybe not lkdfk#also I feel like waiting between weekly releases might have altered my perception on certain things#like I can't imagine going through the Return to Grace Field arc weekly with how rushed everything#having the mystic code book available to provide me with meta explanations for some decisions Shirai made in production#was such an incredible boon to me and made me more forgiving of some things#though I don't think or expect that to be a universally shared opinion#FSS Chatter#FSS Shenanigans#TPN 038
