What's New for the 2025 Toyota Tacoma?
Toyota has hinted at several updates and upgrades for the 2025 Tacoma, making it more competitive than ever in the mid-size truck market. Here’s a breakdown of the key features:
1. Powertrain Options
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma will reportedly offer a range of new powertrain options, including a hybrid engine. This aligns with Toyota’s push towards more eco-friendly vehicles while still delivering the performance expected from the Tacoma. The new V6 hybrid powertrain is expected to deliver more horsepower and better fuel efficiency compared to previous models.
2. Off-Road Capabilities
The 2025 Tacoma is expected to continue its legacy of being an off-road beast. The TRD Pro and TRD Off-Road trims will feature upgraded suspension, skid plates, and better ground clearance. Whether you're navigating rough trails or tackling off-road adventures, the Tacoma will likely maintain its reputation as a go-to truck for enthusiasts.
3. Design Upgrades

Larger Infotainment Screen: A new 14-inch touchscreen with Toyota's latest infotainment system will support Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless charging.
Improved Cabin Comfort: Higher-quality materials, more spacious seating, and better sound insulation will enhance the driving experience.
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): The 2025 Tacoma will include Toyota’s Safety Sense suite, with features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking.
Performance & Towing Capacity
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma is expected to offer a towing capacity of up to 7,000 pounds, maintaining its status as a strong contender for those needing a reliable work truck. The introduction of a hybrid engine will likely improve fuel efficiency, making it an appealing choice for both work and leisure.
Fuel Economy
One of the anticipated highlights of the 2025 Tacoma is the hybrid model's improved fuel economy. Toyota aims to provide a more fuel-efficient truck without compromising on power, with estimates suggesting an MPG rating of around 24 city / 28 highway for the hybrid version.
Pricing & Release Date
The 2025 Toyota Tacoma is expected to be priced starting around $30,000, with higher trims like the TRD Pro possibly exceeding $50,000. Toyota is likely to officially reveal the model by mid-2024, with availability in dealerships by late 2024 or early 2025.

2021 Toyota Camry Got Better Appearance and Improved Safety Features
With the latest model year, the 2021 Toyota Camry has changed either visually and technologically.
Although this is not a complete mid-cycle redesign, it is still suitable for improvements.
To commence with, Toyota introduced XSE to the hybrid model.

This leads to the cleanest of types, the sleeker suspension adjustment, and the bold appearance package.
Here, the image is gray and but then we'd never believe this model was environmentally-focused for both the blue Toyota icon and the Hybrid badge.
It looks much the same as the XSE level for the regular Camry, being that this year has been given a much sportier honeycomb pattern grille.
If uninteresting, hybrid-car appearances kept you from shifting from Camry Hybrid, Toyota really has a plan for that anyway.
Either the LE or XLE trims will now receive an updated front fascia for 2021.

The whole front end is full grille already.
This year it was enhanced as well as dramatized and will become more or even less appropriate.
Besides, the latest wheel concepts are also making their premiere in LE or XLE.

Toyota is rolling out a fresh Herringbone seat design only in the XLE interior.
In addition, every new Camry trims have an updated set of the cabin.
If this is a cozy model, you will enjoy a view of dark wood.
Toyota installed a shaped metal package for sporty trim.

The new major technological upgrade for 2021 is a better driver assist including safety features.
Toyota has revised the choices of infotainment systems in Camry 2021, as well as the latest design.
A brand new 7-inch touch panel is used with the latest standard infotainment system.
You may enhance it to a 9-inch screen tier. All offer regular Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, or Android Auto.
Toyota actually took out all the RAV4 graphics and placed it on the screens here.
Toyota improved the Camry to excellent Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 technologies.
They add advanced automatic emergency braking plus responsive pedestrian recognition.
Also, the groundspeed adaptive cruise control could even take the automobile to start and stop afterward by itself.

The lane tracking assistance manages to keep the vehicle always centered on the path.
Don't forget about automatic high-beams, Toyota's road sign assistance, and impressive back seats alert.
Currently the price for the Hybrid drop for 2021.

It begins at $28,265, and it is $1,160 lower than the average standard price for 2020.
Further with the beginning cost of $33,715, the newest Hybrid XSE trim is so much crazier expensive and by far it's the most highly-priced Hybrid.
The majority of non-hybrid trims get a hefty few hundred bucks of price fluctuation in cost, but the base LE trim price doesn't go up from the $ 25,965 price tag.
With prices starting at $ 33,180 you can get TRD trim that's supported by heated exterior mirrors, nice blind-spot monitoring, fantastic rear cross-traffic alert, and an impressive Ice Edge paint option for 2021. So it stands to reason that the price goes up by $ 1,015.
It's also the cheapest option to have a V6 engine if you believe it is. Yet that's not as great a selling point as the year before.

The 2020 toyota 4runner keeps its status as a tough, off-road prepared suv that uses a more civilized option to vehicles like the jeep wrangler, particularly when discovered in trd off-road or trd pro trims. The fourth-generation from the 4Runner embraced a whole brand new range of tech and convenience features, while the fifth era had challenged the competition with its on-road and rough-road capabilities. The SUV will likely have both RWD plus 4WD driving modes; and we expect no changes right here. It's also reasonable to expect the sturdier suspension for the TRD-Pro and TRD off-road versions.
The SUV might be available in statement colours that make the car look a lot more refined. In regard to safety features, the current model doesn't perform as well as we'd anticipate in safety tests conducted with the IIHS (The Insurance Company for Highway Safety). Additionally , it does not come equipped with several basic safety features, such as accident avoidance and forward-warning, some thing we're 100% sure Toyota is keen to fix with the new model.

There seems to become a strong demand for a diesel powered V8 coupled with a guide 8-speed transmission. Further, the particular V8 engine should be refurbished to make it way more powerful however at the same time make it more economical to operate. As for the safety features, some people wish daytime running lamps, mainly LED, and a plus edition of Toyota Safety Feeling (TSS).
Other medication is largely concerned about giving a contemporary touch to both the exterior and interior. We certainly do anticipate improved heating and cooling for the back seats, increased space regarding taller individuals, and cushioned seats for enhanced peace of mind in the upcoming release.

Several things in life are definitely really worth waiting for, and that include any kind of official announcements regarding the start of the new 2022 4Runner. Unfortunately, not a word continues to be uttered by Toyota. Yet till then, we have computed some approximate numbers plus dates based on past roll-outs. What remains to be seen is exactly how the 4Runner's competition with the Jeep Wrangler within the 4x4 off-roader segment shapes out in the future.
As for the time of the particular launch, one can expect the arrival in late summer. Furthermore, we have no confirmation concerning the price, so we can only estimate that it will be between $36, 740 and $50, 980. Again, remember that there are several possibilities of what the final item will be, so the only method to get any confirmation would be to wait for an official word in the carmaker.

ERMAHGERD: Toyota’s Really Offering Cash Back on New Tacomas
Toyota’s Tacoma is the best-selling midsize pickup and is therefore rarely offered with discounts. Count yourself lucky if you’re in the market for a Tacoma, then, because Toyota is putting cash on the hood of its entry-level pickup truck through June 1, 2020. The Tacoma, among other Toyota models, is being offered with cash incentives and zero-percent financing for qualifying buyers. Before you ask, no, the ultra-hot Toyota GR Supra sports car is not eligible for these offers, nor is the iconic Land Cruiser SUV.
The deal is this: All 2020 Tacomas save for the TRD Pro trim level are eligible for up to $1,750 in customer cash, as well as zero-percent financing for 36, 48, or 60 months for qualifying buyers (read: If you have a baller credit score). Toyota also is offering loans of up to 72 months with a still-low 1.9 percent APR—certain regions are enjoying even more cash on the hood that’s tied to some financing options. Those who’d rather lease can look forward to spending $199–$299 per month for 36 months, with $999–$1,999 due at signing for certain mid-grade trims.
Some domestic automakers are similarly sweetening the pots for their Tacoma fighters, with Ford offering cash and financing deals (including zero-percent financing for up to 72 months), as well as payment deferrals to tide buyers over through the current health crisis, on the Ranger. General Motors goes even further, offering zero-percent financing for up to 84 months and payment deferrals for up to 120 days. But discounts tend to be the norm for domestic truck makers—that’s not the case for Toyota.
So, if you’ve had your eye on a Taco, now might be the perfect time to strike. Toyota even updated the model for 2020, fitting every Tacoma with a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, the automaker’s Toyota Safety Sense suite of safety features (which includes forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and adaptive cruise control), and subtly updated headlights and taillights. Toyota also throws in complimentary maintenance and roadside assistance for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Tacoma prices start at $25,445 for the stripped-out SR (before incentives) and go up from there. May we suggest the rugged, tough-looking Tacoma TRD Off-Road trim, with the available four-wheel drive and six-speed manual transmission combo? Unlike the TRD Pro, the burliest Tacoma trim of the group, the TRD Off-Road appears eligible for Toyota’s largesse.

Volkswagen Atlas and Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro
Text and Photos by Michael Hozjan
Volkswagen Atlas: Getting it right
I wasn’t supposed to like the Atlas. It’s big, square and the furthest departure from what we’re used to from Volkswagen in the company’s history. They call it a seven-passenger. Hell, in the sixties my buddy’s parents stuffed more people into a Beetle. I’d hate to see how many kids and adults they’d fit into the Atlas!

Like I said I wasn’t supposed to like the Atlas and I don’t. I love it. Volkswagen has gone out and broken all the rules and given us a behemoth (it’s nearly 200 inches long) that’s as easy to drive as a compact sedan, is as smooth as a limo and then turns around and is as agile as a sporty sedan.

The Atlas doesn’t replace any outgoing model as we were led to believe. It’s an all-new model geared for the big gulp, super-size me, generation. Unlike other mid-size SUVs like the Ford Explorer and Honda Pilot whose greenhouses feel claustrophobic despite their seven and eight passenger cargo ability, the Atlas feels airy. No matter which of the three rows of seats you choose, foot, leg and elbowroom is abundant. Slide the second row all the way back and your passengers can actually cross their legs (shades of 1950 Cadillacs)! Likewise getting into the third row seat, usually a backbreaking chore left for the rug rats, is a cinch even for adults thanks to the folding and sliding second row seat, which can be articulated with one hand. Incidentally the third row is an option and VW also has second row captain’s chairs on the options list (standard on the Execline).

While we await the arrival of Volkswagen’s new minivan, the Atlas can serve as both a people and cargo mover thanks to a whopping 97 cubic feet of space with the second and third row seats folded. Even with all the seats up there’s still an impressive 21 cubic feet behind the third row. Both rear row seats split to offer a slew of seating/cargo carrying capabilities. Need more space; the Atlas has a 5,000 lb towing capacity (V6 model).

Oh and did I say the Atlas’ interior is quiet. Very quiet. That is until you turn up the sound on the sat radio through the intuitive touch screen of the infotainment system and light up the Fender speakers peppered throughout the truck. Honda, Fiat, Alfa and a slew of other manufacturers should take note of the VW’s user-friendly (read uncomplicated), instinctively placed infotainement controls.

The Atlas is available in front-wheel-drive and VW’s 4Motion all-wheel-drive. You get a choice of two engine options; a 2.0L turbo charged four that develops 235 horses and 258 lb.ft. of torque or the 276 horsepower 3.6L V-6 that produces that delivers 266 lb.ft. of torque. Both connect to an 8-speed automatic tranny with Tiptronic.

Ever been frustrated where to stow your blind? VW has the answer.

Duh!

Oh come on!

A friend of mine who worked at a local VW dealer once told me how a fellow mechanic would use the term Mickey Mouse to describe a non-useful item on a car or an item with no design sense what so ever. The term stuck. The fake twin exhaust tips (above) are the first time I’ve used it on a VW product. Yes that’s the real exhaust pipe under the fake one!
Prices start at $35,690 for the 2.0L powered Trendline, which is almost in par with the lid trim line price of the smaller Tiguan. Next up the ladder is the Comfortline at $39,690 with such amenities as adaptive cruise control, heated front seats and washer nozzles, pedestrian detection and sat radio added. My Highline starts at $48,990 and nets you the V6 plus a power tailgate, heated tushies for the rear seat passengers, panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats. The good news is it’s still priced under the entry level Toureg! Then there’s the top of the line Execline which starts at $52,540 which adds 20” wheels, 12 fender speakers, a digital cockpit, park and lane assist…
Our Kurkuma Yellow Metallic Atlas drew a lot of attention and one or two even liked the color!

Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro: Old school cool
“I can’t believe they’re still making this dinosaur!” exclaimed Eric Descarries, my co scribe, here at Adrenaline Auto Guides.
“Yup, and I’m glad they do.” Came my response.
Obviously we have different visions of what an SUV should be. Eric is of the new school, unibody construction. I on the other hand, still lean more towards the old body-on-frame construction. Maybe it’s the hot rodder or the off-roader in me.

Oh I know I’ll have lots of letters about how unibodied cars have crumple zones to keep their occupants safer than their body-on-frame counterparts and how unibodied cars have withstood the test of time when it comes to rust.

It all depends on what your definition of a SPORT-UTILITY vehicle is, and over the years the term seems to have lost it’s meaning. Today most SUVs are little more than overgrown station wagons with all wheel drive. That’s precisely why we have nonsensical terms like crossover. To me a sport-utility meant you could haul all your gear deep into the woods or across the desert in relative comfort protected from the elements, unlike a 4x4 pickup where your gear would be exposed. The sport portion was more towards hunting, fishing, crossing deep ruts and deeper mud holes, making it to the lot where you hoped to one day build your cabin. And utility meant the truck would be able to haul your construction materials/gear up with you. It didn’t mean how many rug rats you can haul to the baseball diamond – which is what it seems like today’s so called SUVs are all about, even our beloved VW Atlas falls into that category.
The early Jeep Wagoneers, Ford Broncos and Chevrolet Jimmys are a prime example of what I’m talking about. Oh and off-roading doesn’t mean going through the 8 inch trench the construction crew dug up on your street. I’ve taken sports cars through deeper holes.

What makes the Toyota 4Runner the last true sport-utility? To begin with I’ll echo my previous statement, it’s a rugged, utilitarian that will just about go anywhere. While most SUVs, crossovers and the like are built on car-based chassis, the 4Runner still gets its DNA from a pickup.
From a performance aspect, all 4Runners, regardless of which of the five trim packages you opt for are powered by a 4.0 liter, 270 hp, V6 that pumps out 278 lb-ft of torque mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. My Toyota Racing Development Pro (there’s also a TRD Off Road) came with 4-wheel crawl control, TRD Bilstein high-performance shocks with remote reservoirs, TRD-tuned front springs, 17” black aluminum wheels with 31.5" Nitto Terra Grappler all-terrain tires. A locking rear differential, Multi-Terrain Select system and Downhill Assist Control all work in conjunction to get you in and out of the toughest trails. The four-wheel-drive system is of the part-time variety and can be engaged with a manually operated transfer case. Hey these systems, like the 5-speed automatic are bulletproof and have proven themselves over the years. Adding some macho visual appeal while protecting your ride from rocks and logs is a heavy-duty aluminum skid plate mounted up front.
Oh and yes the TRD did get plenty of admiring stares and thumbs up.
As capable as the 4Runner is in the rough, on the road the Toyota doles out a smooth, comfortable ride despite the noisy off-road tires. If there’s a downside to the 4Runner it’s the truck’s off-road traits translate into more sway than usual when doing quick lane changes. The five-speed automatic may be great for tackling the Rubicon but on the highway the truck could also use an extra gear. Let’s not forget the 4Runner hasn’t had a major upgrade in years.

My sunroof-equipped tester’s interior was more truck-like than car-like with large buttons that can easily be manipulated even with gloves. Fit and finish is Toyota quality. Red stitching on the black leatherette seating is a nice touch and rear seat passengers get a provision to tilt their seat backs for added comfort. There is a third row option on the other trim lines. The tester offered an impressive 47 cu.ft. of cargo space behind the second row seats – that’s one of the largest trunks in the midsize SUV category. But what truly sold me on the 4Runner is the opening rear window, a feature that has disappeared off the SUV/crossover/station wagon landscape and something that all of my friends with SUVs have wished for.

The tall off-road tires and ride height make ingress and egress a challenge, but isn’t as bad as the first generation. Showing the truck’s age is the lack of techno gadgetry such as blind-spot monitoring and lane departure warning. You’ll have to old school it and pay attention to the road! However, Vehicle Stability Control, Active Traction Control and trailer sway control are all part of the base vehicle, which starts at $44,800. The TRD Pro package adds another $7395 to the tag. The Toyota can tow 5,000 lbs, only the Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango can tow more, 7,400 lbs.
If your looking for a large station wagon with all-wheel drive and car like ride, look elsewhere, this Toyota is not for you, But if you want a rugged, tough workhorse that will carry you, your buds and your gear over any kind of terrain, your choices are very limited and none has the opening rear window on the hatch. Add Toyota’s high resale value and the choice gets narrower.

At the end of my tenure with the 4Runner I must admit it was hard to surrender it. Like the Jeep Wrangler, it may not be the greenest vehicle, I managed to squeeze out 12.5L/100kms of the good stuff, but the feel of the truck is so unique and yes it’s smoother than the Wrangler.

Texas tuners build the Ranger Raptor that Ford won't sell here Its an open secret that your author has been pushing Ford to bring a version of the mighty Ranger Raptor to these shores. With GM taking a big slice of the mid-size off-road pie with the Colorado ZR2 and ZR2 Bison, the Blue Oval must surely know its leaving money on the table. Thats without mentioning the Tacoma TRD Pro and its ilk.Where the Glass House has fallen down, a Texas-based tuner has picked it up. PaxPower, a speed house out of Houston, has unveiled a 350-hp Ranger with plenty of off-road goodies at this years SEMA show in Las Vegas. A common cop-out Fords offered as to why the Ranger Raptor isnt in North American showrooms is the presence of a weak-sauce 2.0-litre diesel engine making just 210 horsepower. While it is true this mill would not satisfy customers in this region, PaxPower has proven a Raptor-like Ranger can be built around this markets 2.3L EcoBoost engine, thank you very much. Tuned to about 350 horsepower, this clever girl will surely outrun most of the other creatures in the jungle.Starting with a current-model Ranger FX4, PaxPower adds OEM Raptor body panels to the fenders, bedsides and most obviously the front fascia. Those bumpers are custom-fabricated, though, and offer approach and departure angles better than any stock Ranger could ever dream. Toyo R/T rubber sets a just-right stance.None of this show would be of any use without a bit of off-road go, so the company installed a prerunner long-travel suspension setup from BajaKits

What You Need to Know Before Buying a 2019 Ford Ranger

The return of the Ford Ranger for 2019 was a welcome one, as the mid-size pickup truck class is long on competitors but short on innovation, and arrival of the Ranger could spur a new wave of one-upmanship to benefit shoppers. Our impressions of the Ford Ranger since it came back have been positive, and PickupTrucks.com/Cars.com reviewer Aaron Bragman recently published his full review of the Ranger calling it "seriously compelling." We also tested the Ranger head to head with the Toyota Tacoma at the end of last year where the Ford came out on top against the most popular truck in the class.
There are a few things Ranger shoppers should know before buying the truck — it has a few quirks that will either endear it to shoppers or cause others to take pause.
Limited Configurations
The 2019 Ranger is offered with only a single powertrain and one wheelbase. The only thing you're choosing between is a SuperCrew cab (crew cab) with a 5-foot bed or a SuperCab (extended cab) with a 6-foot bed. Neither offers a large amount of space for backseat passengers, but if you're going to be putting people back there regularly you pretty much have to go for the SuperCrew version; the quarters in the SuperCab are extra tight.
One Powertrain to Rule Them All
The Ford Ranger offers only a single engine and transmission pairing, but thankfully it's a good one. The 270-horspower, turbocharged 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine makes 310 pounds-feet of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. You do get a choice between rear- or four-wheel drive, but other than that, this is it.
The powertrain is very responsive and while it does shift a lot to use all of those gears, it doesn't take away from the Ranger's smooth power delivery. Bragman wrote that the eagerness of the engine makes the Ranger "a genuine joy to drive" and I concur. It absolutely crushes the base powertrains (and even some optional powertrains) of competitors. Hearing about a four-cylinder engine in a truck may cause some to wrinkle their nose, but it's only because they haven't tried this four-cylinder.
Dated Interior
On higher trim levels, the materials and technology offerings (an 8-inch touchscreen with Sync 3, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is available) are modern, but the overall design and feel of the cabin is not, especially compared to other Fords that have been recently redesigned. Lower trim levels lose out on tech offerings, as the XL comes with a 2.3-inch monochromatic display and the XLT has a 4.2-inch color display. Things are better on the top trim level, the Lariat, but there is a big variance in the features and materials quality between the trims.
Normally, being so limited in cab and bed choices would cause me pause, but the strength of the powertrain and the fact that the Ranger's bed lengths and cab size mostly fall in line with the rest of the class helps mitigate that concern. Ford has delivered a mid-size truck that is instantly competitive and among the most fun to drive — on the road at least. For off-road chops, the Ranger's FX4 Off-Road Package doesn't offer nearly as much capability as the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 or the Tacoma TRD Pro. We'll just have to keep our fingers crossed for the Ranger Raptor to eventually make the same journey to American shores, as it's currently only slated for Asian and European markets.
Wheelchair vans are vehicles that has been modified by increasing the interior size of the vehicle and equipping it with a means of wheelchair entry.

Ford Ranger 2019 the wait was worth it
Ford Ranger 2019 the wait was worth it

Ford Ranger 2019 the wait was worth it
The return of the Ford Ranger van was announced some time ago. It is now done, and it touches these days the bitumen (or snow), occupying the courses of Canadian dealers. Why does she come back after eight years of absence? And why did it take so long to finally admit that Toyota and GM were right to put their energy in this segment? First, it must be understood that for Ford, the F-150 pickup truck takes precedence over everything. And of course, imagining the revival of the Ranger, it was estimated that very few buyers would abandon the full-size van in favor of an intermediate model. Since the F-Series has dominated the market for more than fifty years, it's pointless to tell you that every vehicle that can drive down the F-150's annual sales is considered an enemy. Even if it is a house model. That's why we did not really like the idea of relaunching the Ranger in North America, especially knowing that it would no longer be a compact and affordable van like in the past.
That said, it has also been realized over time that customers in search of an intermediate pickup truck were not only growing, but also different from those who obtain the F-150. In this regard, more than 550,000 mid-size vans were sold in North America last year, Toyota of course dominating the market with the Tacoma range . Ford had no choice but to admit its strategic mistake and to start producing the Ranger. The problem is that no factory was available in the short term to make it. That's why Ford abruptly stopped producing the Focus in Detroit, which first welcomed the Ranger models after more than a year of redevelopment and modernization of the facilities. It should be noted that the Bronco 2020 utility, which will share the same structure as the Ranger, will also be produced shortly.

Ford Ranger 2019 the wait was worth it
From Thailand to Michigan The Ranger van that North Americans are discovering these days is not new. Indeed, it has already existed for several years on the side of Thailand, being marketed in Asia, Europe and South America. Of course, Ford has taken care to modify and adapt it primarily for compliance, but also to meet the needs of buyers. But now you understand why the style of his body is not as strong, or at least in harmony with that of the F-150 here. For now, the offer of the Ranger is simple. Three versions (XL, XLT and Lariat) and two choices of cabins, with respectively one body length. A first handicap against the competition which, with the exception of the Ridgeline , always offers a choice of lengths of board with the models with double cabin. The total It was at the wheel of a Lariat version with technology group and FX4 off-road package that I traveled some 1,300 kilometers last week. The price of the test model was $ 50,000, which is a far cry from the previous generation. Of course, the reflex of many people has been to mention that at this price, we can get a well-equipped F-150, which is true. But we must realize that not all buyers want to be driving such a juggernaut. For many, the maneuverability and versatility of an easy-to-drive urban vehicle is also of great importance. What's more, statistics show that the mid-size vans sold by GM and Toyota have lower depreciation than full-size models. And of course, it will be the same at Ford. But, I grant you, the Ranger van is not given.

Ford Ranger 2019 the wait was worth it
Fortunately, we find at this price a complete equipment, except for the heated steering wheel. I would add that at this price, we could have included a damping cylinder for the lowering of the tailgate which, despite its design of aluminum, bangs hard after making his free fall. That said, we get voice-activated navigation, dual-mode air conditioning, adaptive cruise control, blind spot and lane detection, high-fidelity audio system and the inevitable connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Things you will not have in a Nissan Frontier van ! The finish on board is irreproachable. Again, the driving position does not have the aesthetic passion of a genuine American product, but everything is ergonomic and perfectly tied. The seats are comfortable, even behind. On the other hand, it is a pity that the seat can be raised in only one section, question of versatility. Disorders of Mustang Under the hood obviously does not hide the Mustang V8, but rather its four-cylinder. A revamped version of this turbocharged 2.3-liter engine, which generates 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. What to allow the vehicle to accelerate and tow with the passion and power of rivals V6. In fact, Ford is proud to offer the segment's best towing capacity of 7,500 pounds. Still!

Ford Ranger 2019 the wait was worth it
Without being able to tow with the vehicle, I have no doubt about his abilities. On the one hand because the mechanics are powerful, but mainly because the structure of the vehicle is extremely solid. It is felt in the driving, which obviously contributes to this feeling of invincibility so much sought after by the amateurs of vans. The Ranger is also very fun to drive because of precise steering. The steering circle is weak, the suspensions are well calibrated and the braking power is excellent. Congratulations to engineers who have greatly improved the soundproofing of the cabin, thus obtaining the best-isolated cabin segment. Mechanically, the power is always up. It is clear that the automatic transmission constantly switches from one report to the other since there are ten. However, we do not feel it very much. Why such a box paired with a four-cylinder? For a question of comfort and economy, but also because it would adapt it seems very well to more serious work.

Ford Ranger 2019 the wait was worth it
Without having worked heavily with the vehicle, I would say that the main benefit of this box and this engine is felt in urban areas, where the power and performance are always optimized to obtain the best fuel economy that is . A much more efficient performance than the competition which displays between 13.2 and 15.8 liters per 100 km average consumption, while the Ranger consumes 11.8 liters. Unfortunately, the balance sheet darkens greatly when it comes to economy on the road, since the vehicle records a rating similar to that of Colorado / Canyon V6 engine, 9.8 L / 100 km. And believe me, because this is a turbocharged engine that works more at high speed and in cold weather, this average posted is very optimistic. For example, driving only on the road, at a temperature of about -15 degrees Celsius, resulted in an average of 12.4 L / 100 km. One liter more than with Colorado conducted a few weeks ago in such conditions. However, the average obtained in urban areas and at a similar temperature was only 12.6 L / 100 km. Curious, is not it? That said, this is proof that this powertrain is better suited to the city than for long journeys on the road. This also tells me that by hanging heavy loads, consumption will climb to almost unimaginable heights.

Ford Ranger 2019 the wait was worth it
Where is the Raptor? The tested Ranger was equipped with the FX4 off-road package, which is essentially described by a firmer suspension, a locking differential and the addition of protective plates. Nothing really aggressive, especially compared to what Chevrolet and Toyota offer. On the one hand, the ruthless Colorado ZR2 Bison able to cope with the worst conditions, just like the Tacoma TRD Pro who launched the ball of pickup trucks designed to climb Everest. At Ford, the Ranger Raptor pickup truck is waiting. However, it exists in other markets, but it seems - according to the latest information obtained - that the probate costs are too high. The existence of the North American Ranger van is proof of this: Ford is able to change its mind. Hope she will do it again. In the meantime, this truck still serves us a good 4x4 system which, moreover, is delivered to us as standard. Indeed, no two-wheel drive version is proposed. At least in Canada. Ford rightly considers that this market is minimal and that it is useless to force dealers to order models that will stick in their yard. However, we would have liked the 4x4 system to have an automatic mode like the Chevrolet Colorado, more user-friendly for everyday driving. Will we add it soon? One thing is certain, Ford has been able to effectively adapt a product that was clearly not designed for our market. Depending on demand, it is clear that the Dearborn manufacturer will invest to make additional improvements as well as a wider range of models. A Ranger King Ranch, Limited, or even a high-performance ST version? Who knows what the future holds. In the meantime, this van is enhancing the offer of a rising segment. It may not eclipse the competition as the manufacturer claims, but the proposal is serious, extremely competitive, and deserves attention. Ford Ranger Evaluation Sheet Trial version -Lariat 4x4 Super Crew (5.0 ') Price range -nd Price of the model under review -ford ranger 2019 price $ 42,289 Basic warranty -3 years / 60,000 km Consumption (city / road / observed) -11.8 / 9.8 / 12.4 L / 100km options -nd Competitive models -Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Honda Ridgeline, Jeep Gladiator, Toyota Frontier, Toyota Tacoma Strong points -Robust construction -Amazing comfort -Excellent soundproofing -Good maneuverability Weak points -High price -One body length (double cabin) -4x4 system without automatic mode -High highway consumption Consumption -The conditions under which I was able to drive him were execrable. Now, I've seen a high consumption on the road but a reasonable consumption in the city, a sign that a four-cylinder turbocharged and strong couple is working well Comfort -Of course, an extended wheelbase with a 6.5-foot box would have contributed to more comfort. That said, the excellent soundproofing and structural rigidity come to support a suspension that does a great job. Performances -You will not feel the 270 horsepower from this engine accelerating. However, the generous couple can get out of trouble in any situation, and brilliantly. Multimedia system -Very effective. A system that has improved over the years to become one of the best in the industry. And hat for the sound of the optional B & O brand audio system. Driving approval -We take pleasure in driving the Ranger because of its great maneuverability. It feels solid, able to face the worst conditions and able to sneak almost anywhere. General appreciation -Is the Ranger really better than the competition? No. But this is a serious rival that is likely to convince some current buyers of F-150. -SEE ALSO:

“How do you get to Tokyo Auto Salon? How much is admission? How do you apply for press passes? Is one day enough to cover the show? ” This post is pretty much a guide to Tokyo Auto Salon and will be super informative if you’ve never been and plan to go sometime in the near future…
Tokyo Auto Salon – biggest Tokyo convention of modified cars, women, and perverts… I mean photographers…
Never been to TAS before and plan to go in the future? Cool, this is pretty much my guide of how to survive Tokyo Auto Salon.
Things to bring to Tokyo Auto Salon: – Comfortable shoes (Don’t make the same mistake I did and only bring Van’s to Japan) – Lightweight warm jacket (It will be warm inside the Event Halls but cool/cold outside) – Backpack or a bag for free swag (You can use your gf or friend as a mule to carry stuff as well) – Battery pack (At least 3350mAh, but I usually bring 26800mAh to last me half the trip) – Cash (They have a Family Mart and bunch of restaurants where they don’t price gouge like venues in the states) – Camera and lens (Wide angle lens at least 24mm for FF or 16mm for crop sensors)
If you’re there for media/press purposes: – Of course your gear – Passport (if you’re not from Japan) – Approved press papers or email with QR code – Business cards
Alright, these are the essentials I’d recommend for you to bring or have for the show. I also like to travel light because carrying a bunch of stuff gets irritating when you’ve covered 8 halls in a day.
How do you get to Tokyo Auto Salon? TAS has always been held at Makuhari Messe in the Northwest part of Chiba Prefecture. You have the choice of traveling by car (if you have a ride) or train, but it will be at least a 40 minute to 1 hour commute from metro Tokyo area, assuming you stay around there.
Don’t mind the starred locations and just click the photo for Makuhari Messe‘s location.
How much is admission? Friday – General Special Public (Pretty much advanced tickets) Advance or Pre-purchased online is 2,600Y or $23-25 USD (depending on rate exchange) Day of show is 3,200Y or $28-29 (depending on rate exchange)
Saturday, Sunday – General Admission Advance or Pre-purchased online is 1,800Y or $16-18 USD (depending on rate exchange) Day of show Adult is 2,200Y and Teens/kids 1,700Y
Just check Tokyo Auto Salon site for ticket information there.
How do you apply for press passes? You can apply online for press pass usually around mid December. Depending who you’re doing coverage for, they will either approve your application within 10-15 business days or ask for more information. You will then need your passport and business card when picking up your media passes.
Is one day enough to cover the show? For the normal general public doing coverage or visiting, no you won’t be able to hit up all the Halls in the venue. If you look at the map below, there are 11 Halls to go through, as well as a driving exhibition/demo area. There are also special concerts that go on as well.
Very useful map from TAS 2017… if you can read in Japanese.
MuthafuckinPineappleApplePen Piko Taro was one of the opening acts at TAS 2017.
If you’re special media or press pass holder and can sneak in Thursday night/day, that would be the best time to do coverage. Booths will still be setting up but most cars should be ready. If not, I would recommend arriving at 8AM to avoid the general public crowds. If you have on comfortable shoes and took 2 of those 1o hr energy jelly packs, you might be able to cover the whole show. If you do plan to cover the show in 2 days, I’d recommend walking around the parking lot as there will be a few hidden gems out there as well.
That’s pretty much it for my guide to Tokyo Auto Salon… now onto my favorite photos from TAS…
Also, if you haven’t seen my photo coverage for Front Street Media by Kyle Crawford yet, you can check out Part 1 HERE and Part 2 HERE. I sent the photos overnight to Kyle and had the article up within less than 24 hrs later. Glad the photos didn’t sit around for too long either. He did a great job and it almost felt like he was there at the show with me O_O.
Check out the coverage on Front Street Media by Kyle Crawford.
TAS wouldn’t be TAS without the models. I can’t lie about that because who would go just to look at modified cars and parts….
There were a bunch of celebs at TAS. Drift King or Tsuchiya was doing interviews all day… I actually got to see him in the media room chilling earlier, but didn’t want to bother him =/…
SARD racing aero always being SARD…. The only thing I like is the CF wing…
Liberty Walk had more than a dozen cars around TAS…
These guys are always on the go. 2017 should be a good year for Kenneth Li of Wekfest and Joey Lee of Stickydiljoe.com…
The Subaru booth usually has their concept cars and what looks like GT BRZ Racecar….
Model from Vellano booth and some more models from Rohana Wheels…
ROBERUTA Lamborghini Huracan with a Super Trofeo aero look. Not sure if it’s the real deal but check out the ROBERUTA lift kit in action HERE.
Silk Blaze had a simple look for the Honda S660 and Miata ND MX-5.
Every year D.A.D. always goes all out and blings out a Benz…
I believe this Mercedes SL600 is covered in real diamonds…
I’m not even sure what this car is… but the grill is covered with screens and trunk lid full of speakers while the headlights rotated… o_O
The new AIMGAIN GT kit for the Toyota 86 Kouki… you can see Elvis of StanceNation napping in the back…
Didn’t even notice each side had different colored wheels…
Next to it is the new AIMGAIN GT kit for the new R35 GTR.
I’m not sure why the Event halls were packed with spectators…
Because it made it super difficult for the working press…
Luckily some of the booth cars were on a stage display…
Like the new Honda Civic Type R seen here…
Which would rotate every 30 seconds or so…
Caught Tein Dampachi and female pachi at their photobooth…
Caught Joey and crew again around TAS again…
326Power represented with aggressive stance and fitment as usual on this RC and S15…
This crazy model stood outside in the Hallway upstairs while it was freezing cold… god bless her soul…
International hall had some pretty awesome stuff in there….
Star Road S30, Nismo S30, Restored R30 RS, and a BNR32.
Also a couple of FD’s…
I believe this is the same Kamikaze 370Z from the Varis booth last year at TAS 2016…
Being a Toyota 86 guy, I had to check out the TRD kit for the new Kouki model… still not sure if I like it…
CWest also had a new lip for the kouki 86… not sure if I’m even feeling the new front bumper…
The Impulse kit for the AE86… in CF…
I walked into Pandem / Rocket Bunny territory at TAS 2017…
Daigo Saito was in attendance too… glad he didn’t mind me taking a photo…
But he was staring pretty hard at this Pandem R32 for awhile…
Another Star Road S30…
Pandem all the things…
More drifters…
More models…
Kuhl Racing always engraving and designing cool shit…
Photoshoot going on… with ladders and off camera flash..
I’m not even sure what time period that’s from… I guess 2017 from a different dimension…
RE Amemiya FC3S RX7 with new aero
RE Amemiya RX8…
Time attack FD RX7… I believe CSG had some hand in building this…
One of my favorite shots of Under Suzuki taking a look at how ridiculously huge that wing is… jk.
BN Sport revealed new kits for the FD RX7 and R35 GTR. Both aggressive looking as usual…
Earlier next to the BN sports booth cars, this was going on…
One of the BN Sports guys liked watching the spectacle…
Top Fuel S2000 (top left), Mad Mike Redbull TCP Magic FD RX7 (top right), and VARIS Kamikaze booth cars…
Last but not least, this was my press desk area. Check out the photo on the right… some guys would bring 2-3 monitors, a cpu, and edit. I need to step up my game next year.
This post wasn’t supposed to be long, but I couldn’t help it with all the photos I took. Even Kyle had a tough time choosing photos to post. As always, thanks for actually reading or skimming through to the end.
