Fer: it's not about selling O.J, right?

Cap. Star: yes... *He looks sad and walks into the office to continue sorting things out on the subject*

Fer: .... *in deep silence seeing the sad O.J his tears were already coming out and going down past his half moon glasses and goes to him to calm down*

O.J: Sorry.... *Closing your eyes*

Fer: Dad won't let him, he would never sell a tug from the fleet that is most important to him...

Headcanon: The tugs (and some other vessels) can shift their weight to lean from side to side in the water, and they use this to gesture and emote.

I want to clarify that they wouldn't move like the engine's in BWBA, I hate those exaggerated motions as much as the next fan. But this would be a more natural feeling motion for a boat. More like a gentle lean sideways and a natural shift upright again.

Certain tugs like O.J. and Billy Shoepack possibly can't lean port to starboard very well due to their paddles, but, they can lean forwards and backwards just as well as any other Tug. Ocean Liners and Tramp Steamers also can't do this very well due to their size and weight, if they lean too far there's the possibility of capsizing.

The Star Tugs: Pride Edition

Like I did with the Steam Team, I decided to draw the Star Fleet and list their sexualities.

Ten Cents: Panromantic Homosexual

Big Mac: Homosexual

O.J: "We didn't have sexuality when I was a lad!" Heterosexual

Top Hat: Homosexual (Not 'A Gay', but 'The Gay!' by his own admission)

Warrior: Heterosexual

Hercules: Bisexual, but prefers 'decidedly Heterosexual.'

Sunshine: Pansexual

Grampus: Demisexual and Heterosexual

Aurora (OC): Biromantic Heterosexual

So on another re-watch of TUGS I had some thoughts (and questions).

First of all: In Pirate, the captains’ plan has the tugs in pairs. We see three of these pairs (Ten Cents and Sunshine, Zip and Zug, and Top Hat and Warrior. But who are the other pairs?

In the scene where the plan is made there are ten tugs visible, in other words everyone but O.J. and Hercules. Hercules does turn up at the end of the episode, but his dialogue is a little ambiguous as to whether or not he was around to be part of the plan, he might have been out working. As for O.J.? He could have been anywhere I guess?

So unaccounted for in the pairs are Big Mac, Zorran, Zebedee and Zak. One Star and three Z-Stacks. Does this mean Big Mac had to work with one of the Z-Stacks? If so, which one?

Or did Big Mac work with O.J.? But that leaves the three Zero harbour tugs together, or having one pair and one alone? Because when you suspect someone in port is stealing the tugs you’d want on their own is one of the Z-stacks… sure…

So yeah, don’t know how the plan worked outside of pairs we were shown, any ideas??? Second: Quarantine. Why does Zorran try to protest his innocence to avoid quarantine? That’s just… not how that works? Sir, you made yourself a biohazard, and there are consequences to that. Sorry.

Ability: Ferrokinesis. Can lift double his weight on metal by itself and triple if holding it with his body. He can manipulate it to a distance of 2 meters. As seen in the picture, he can make himself fly if he's over something made of metal

Namesake: Song by P-MODEL. And it's a remix of the Guts theme so that's pretty epic, more upbeat and fun ^^. I think recovery ships are actually for recovering spaceships that comeback to Earth and land on the ocean but damn it, it does sound like a synonym for tugboat right? kinda? anyways i hc TC as a Susumu Hirasawa fan 'cause yeah

Namesake: Belarusian post-punk band. They made Sudno. It means boat. I was running out of ideas ok? and then remembered bout this song and its translation and i was like :000 perfect.

Ability: He can dive as far as a midget submarine can go, as long as either the human or sub are on the surface.

Namesake: Album by Kingo Hamada. It's where the Machi no Dolphin song is. City Dolphin. Grampus is a dolphin. Dolphin of Bigg City. It fits so well and so does the song ^^

Ability: Viewing the past recorded on reflective surfaces. The amount of centimeters determines the amounnt of seconds it has recorded. (a 45cm window has 45 seconds of footage, for example)

Namesake: Song by The Beatles. It is clear that main antagonists in Jojo tend to have time-based abilities and what better Zorran to have an ability like that, referencing that theory of playing Beatles songs backwards gives proof that Paul died~ wish I could use one of those songs, but nothing fitted so whatev, obvious reference :P

Ability: Morph his body into sharp objects

Namesake: Japanese Alt-Rock band. Is the band that did Parasyte's OP, his ability is a direct reference to that. Let me Hear is the name of the song but like it didn't fit? The band name, on the other hand, goes pretty well. They also made Kaiji's 2nd OP, just another banger to listen to uwu

Ability: Phase through walls and any other horizontal solid wall-like things, so not floors nor ceilings. He can make others (living or inanimated) to go with him if he's touching them. His hands are the expection, they can go through anything at his will.

Namesake: Song by Phil Collins. Did you know that sussudio means absolutely nothing? I think that it fits Zip pretty well, a word that he made up on the spot. And I like the song.

Hello again! I'm really bored right now, so I'm going to send you another ask. What are all the tugs' biggest fears and insecurities? I know it's a big, deeper kind of a question, so please don't feel forced to answer it. If you do want to answer, it's here. By the way thanks for replying to my first ask, and you're welcome! 😊

i've never considered it up until you asked so these may change over time, but for now here's what i have!

let's go with the Stars for now, shall we?

at first, Ten Cents claimed he wasn't scared of anything but he was always kind of scared of failing his fleet. he was scared they'd reject him and kick him out of the fleet even if he made one minor mistake, this was something he was always scared of since he was a kid. his relationship with his biological parents may or may not have solidified that. since Munitions, he's developed a fear of fire and explosives, a slight fear of explosive/flammable materials as well. the explosion scarred him so badly (more so mentally) and nearly killed him, the whole incident also caused him to develop PTSD as well so that only made his fear of fire/explosions even worse. he's trying to overcome his fear of them but it's been hard, but he's confident that one day he won't be scared of it anymore.

Big Mac was and still is scared of losing any member of the Stars. in the time he knew them, he saw them as his second family and the thought of losing any of them scares him to no end. especially O.J. and Warrior.

O.J. used to be scared of dying when he was younger, and even though he's not as scared of it now, he still is. only because he doesn't want to die alone. he wants to die peacefully, surrounded by his family and his wife.

Top Hat acts like he's not scared of anything, but he's scared of a lot of things. he has a huge fear of being abandoned or left behind, which developed when he was a teenager. he's terrified of the prospect of losing someone he loves or them abandoning him, he desperately wants attention from everyone but he's not going about it the right way.

Warrior is really scared of failing everyone around him and "not being good enough," he's dealt with that since he was young and it really gets to him whenever the Zeds tease him about his flaws because it just reminds him of those fears and he hates it.

Hercules is also scared of failure, he knows that the fleet looks up to him in some aspects, and for him to fail just upsets him to no end. the only other thing that he's scared of is losing the people he loves. the Munitions accident terrified him to no end because he thought Ten Cents was dead. that he lost someone who was basically a son to him.

Sunshine (like Warrior and Herc) is scared of failure and losing those he loves. he wants companionship and when he almost lost it because of the Duchess incident, he broke.

Grampus isn't scared of death, but he is scared of the people he cares for getting hurt or in trouble as a result of his actions. he wants everyone around him to be safe and in good health, and if they suffer for it because of him then it breaks him.
