Elevate Your Ride The Ultimate Guide to Ebike Hub Motors
The ebike revolution is in full swing, and at the heart of this electrifying movement lies the unsung hero – the hub motor. Nestled discreetly within the wheel, this ingenious contraption transforms pedal power into a symphony of silent assistance, propelling riders towards a future of sustainable and effortless mobility. But the intricacies of ebike hub motors go far beyond a simple spin of the wheel. Buckle up, fellow e-enthusiasts, as we delve into the fascinating world of these electromechanical marvels.
The Allure of Ebikes: Bridging the Gap Between Human and Machine
Before we dissect the hub motor, let's acknowledge the burgeoning popularity of ebikes. Gone are the days of electric bicycles perceived as clunky afterthoughts today, sleek, sophisticated machines blur the lines between traditional pedal cycles and miniaturized electric vehicles. Whether it's conquering hills with newfound ease, commuting comfortably through congested streets, or simply savoring the joy of effortless exploration, ebikes offer a compelling proposition for adventure seekers and everyday riders alike.
Demystifying the Ebike Hub Motor: A Masterclass in Compact Power
Now, let's peek beneath the hood and understand the core of this electrified transformation – the hub motor. In essence, it's a miniature electric motor seamlessly integrated into the ebike wheel's hub. This seemingly simple concept belies a universe of engineering prowess. Its compact form utilizes electromagnetic principles to convert electrical energy into rotational force, propelling the wheel forward with a silent hum.
Unpacking the Hub Motor Family: Geared vs. Direct Drive
But not all hub motors are created equal. Two distinct breeds populate the ebike landscape: geared and direct drive. Geared hub motors, like tiny workhorses, employ internal planetary gears to amplify torque, making them ideal for conquering hills and tackling rugged terrain. Their direct drive counterparts, sleek and efficient, boast a simpler, gearless design, excelling in smooth, high-speed cruising.
Beyond the Hub: Exploring Alternative Motor Options
While hub motors reign supreme, alternative drive systems like mid-drive motors offer distinct advantages. Nestled near the pedals, mid-drive motors boast superior power transfer and a more natural pedaling feel, favored by performance-oriented riders. However, their increased complexity and maintenance requirements render them less accessible to casual ebike enthusiasts.
The Allure of the Hub: A Symphony of Advantages
So, why choose a hub motor? The answer lies in their inherent elegance. Their simple design translates to ease of maintenance and accessibility, making them a popular choice for everyday riders and DIY enthusiasts. Moreover, their silent operation and sleek integration contribute to the minimalist aesthetic that defines modern ebikes.
Choosing the Right Hub Motor: Navigating the Power Maze
Selecting the perfect hub motor requires careful consideration. Firstly, power ratings dictate your ebike's legal classification and performance potential. Next, assess your terrain and riding style. Do you crave hill-taming torque or prefer breezy commutes? Finally, remember legal regulations and restrictions in your region.
Decoding the Power Equation: Beyond Watts and Numbers
Understanding power ratings goes beyond a simple wattage figure. Torque, the twisting force that conquers climbs, plays a crucial role. Remember, higher torque doesn't always translate to higher speeds. Striking the right balance between torque and speed will ensure your ebike complements your riding style and adheres to legal limitations.
Battery Buddies: Ensuring Compatibility and Range
Your hub motor's performance is intrinsically linked to your battery's capacity. Choose a battery voltage and amp-hour rating that aligns with your chosen motor and desired range. Remember, larger batteries offer extended journeys but add weight and cost.
DIY or Pro? Installation and Maintenance Made Easy
Hub motors, particularly geared hub variants, are generally considered DIY-friendly. However, if mechanical tinkering isn't your forte, professional installation ensures optimal performance and safety. Regular maintenance involves basic checks like spoke tension and bearing lubrication, keeping your ebike purring with satisfaction.
Troubleshooting Tips: When Your Hub Motor Hiccups
Even the most reliable motors occasionally hiccup. Common issues like overheating, grinding noises, or sudden power loss can often be remedied with simple troubleshooting steps. Consult your ebike manual or seek guidance from experienced mechanics for more complex issues.
Hub-to-Hub: A Clash of the Titans
Curious about how hub motors stack up against other ebike propulsion systems? Let's settle the score. Compared to mid-drive motors, hub motors offer lower maintenance, quieter operation, and simpler design, making them ideal for casual riders. Friction drive motors, their less common counterparts, boast silent operation and wear-resistant technology, but their lower efficiency and performance limit their appeal.
Enhancing the Ride: Accessories for the Discerning Ebiker
Once you've chosen your hub motor, it's time to personalize your ebike experience with a selection of performance-enhancing accessories. Performance controllers allow fine-tuning of power delivery, while regenerative braking systems recoup energy during descents, extending your range. Mudguards and fenders keep you dry and your ebike clean, while luggage racks and panniers transform your ebike into a versatile cargo carrier.
Real-World Experiences: Riding the Ebike Wave
The true magic of hub motors lies in the transformative experiences they offer. Imagine effortlessly conquering hills that once seemed insurmountable or cruising through cityscapes with newfound confidence. User testimonials paint a vivid picture of the joy and freedom that ebikes, powered by the silent hum of hub motors, bring to riders of all ages and backgrounds.
Future Trends: Where Will the Hub Take Us?
The future of ebike hub motors is ablaze with innovation. Expect advancements in motor efficiency, leading to longer ranges and lighter weight. Integration with smart features like GPS navigation and Smartphone connectivity will enhance the riding experience. Safety advancements like collision detection and automatic braking will further solidify the position of ebikes as reliable and responsible transportation options.
Safety First: Gear Up and Ride Smart
As with any form of transportation, safety should be paramount when riding an ebike. Invest in proper helmets, reflective gear, and sturdy locks. Familiarize yourself with local traffic regulations and practice responsible riding etiquette. Remember, sharing the road with pedestrians and other vehicles requires mutual respect and awareness.
Environmental Impact: A Sustainable Revolution on Two Wheels
Ebikes, powered by hub motors, represent a significant leap towards sustainable transportation. They boast minimal emissions, contributing to cleaner air and reduced reliance on fossil fuels. Additionally, ebikes encourage active lifestyles, promoting physical well-being and reducing dependence on cars, further minimizing environmental impact.
Legal and Regulatory Landscape: Navigating the Ebike Maze
Ebike regulations vary by region, so understanding the legal landscape is crucial. Different motor power ratings and speeds determine ebike classifications, impacting registration requirements, insurance coverage, and permissible riding areas. Always adhere to local regulations to ensure safe and responsible riding.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: The Hub of the Future is Here
At To7Motor, we're not just building ebikes we're crafting the future of transportation. Our hub motors are more than just mechanical marvels they're testaments to our unwavering commitment to innovation and sustainability. Each meticulously engineered motor is a silent symphony of power, seamlessly propelling you forward with exhilarating ease.

WarioWare The Series: The Final Season Episodes
28 episodes. Season 1, Season 2, Season 3, Season 4
* = Episodes submitted by @doodlefox-beta ** = Episode submitted by @ichigo-milk
Tumblr media
A Bottle of Soda: After the chaos that was the previous season, all Wario wants is a bottle of his favorite drink. Yet all of Diamond City has stopped selling it, so the big guy sets out to find some before he blows his stack.
Yellow and Black Beebop: Mona and Jimmy T work together to help the bee population, but they succeed too well. Now DC is stuck in a swarmaggeddon, and everyone tries to come up with a way to stop it without getting back to square one.
Dancing with the Demons: It’s Ashley’s first school dance, so she lets Red go in her place. Seems like a good idea as Red becomes the popular one at the hall, but things go sour when a witch child wants him as her servant.
WarioWare, The Anime: Ana becomes obsessed with this new book series and starts to imagine the world of Diamond City as the one in the book. Suddenly she’s thrusted into a quest to save the geisha Mona from the clutches of the Tengu mastermind Big Belly with the help of Cricket.
CatDogFish: Master Mantis and Dribble decide to hang out together by going fishing, which slowly causes a rift between the latter and Spitz. Though Spitz tries to redeem their friendship by catching the most vicious fish around.
Sand Turismo: 9 and 18-Volt wake up in a limo, alone, outside the city limits. There’s mystery afoot, and dinner to get back to, no time to lose!
The Word: Orbulon accidentally says the one word you must never say in public, and this forces the gang to shun him as does everyone in Diamond City. This forces Orbulon on a journey of self discovery to understand the rights and wrongs of speech.
Zine Machine: Lulu and Penny start making a magazine which becomes a huge hit. Such a big hit, that all of Diamond City start to rely on them for the latest of info. Then again, the stuff in this paper was imaginary from the start and the two can only make up so much before things get out of hand.
Michael Checks in: The Gang check in at a hotel where a dog show is taking place. Dr. Crygor wants in on the competition, but doesn’t have a dog. This is where Mike steps up to the plate… helping him build the perfect doggo.
How to Get Away with Dinner: 5-Volt turns detective when her special dinner for the gang turns out into a food fight and yet nobody knows who started it.
Wafted Dimensions (Part 1): Dr. Crygor’s new invention unfortunately creates a crack in space time, forcing each member to live through their most horrible moments of the series. This time, it’s up to an familiar outside force to save everyone.
Wafted Dimensions (Part 2): Wario turned out to be all by himself after the incident struck and has found the door back to the original dimension. Yet struggles to reach it when distractions hit him hard.
Prank Note: While hanging out at Ashley’s manor, Penny, Lulu and the Ninja twins find a journal with the ability to prank someone hardcore just by writing their name on it. Fun ensues until they hurt the wrong person at the wrong time, and this time it’s not Wario.
Lemon: Lemons have warped the fabric of reality to become the rulers of the world and it’s up to the gang to stop. That is, if they can overcome the catchy song by Lemon Demon.
Moonman Magic: A new alien stops by and is able to charm everyone except Orbulon. Is there an alterior motive behind it all? Or is he just a nice guy? Whatever may be, Crygor himself has devi- scientific plans for this new speci... creature.
Lethal Age: One of Crygor’s rejects sets off, making everyone age at a rapid rate. It’s up to the kids, now adults, to set things right. Or namely Penny, what can the others do really?
Automobile Training Video: Dribble and Spitz make a educational video on how to fix, improve, and tame your ride. Wait, tame?
Censored Love: A grumpy exec from the Bureau of Fun Cease & Desists finds Wario both crude, a vile being, and an apologetically attractive guy. He’s enamored with Wario’s “charm” and this makes Mona green with envy. So she tries to stop him while preventing Diamond City from turning into a pixelized graveyard.
Polterguts*: When a demon summoning goes horribly wrong and Ashley is possessed, Wario is forced to call upon a familiar green figure in order to help bring the entity out. The monster isn't content on leaving the physical plane, however, forcing Luigi and a few other members of the cast to think outside of the box...
Bass & 8-Bit: 13-Amp wants a change in her rhythmic style, but is having a hard time finding something original. So she turns to 18-Volt for guidance and he gives her the key place for a potential new sound: the arcade.
Minion Union: The Fronks decide to unionize when a new toy is sweeping the city to the point of annoyance. However, they don’t know how to run an actual union, so they speculate on what a union is.
Yep, This is Totally the Final Episode*: An extremely destructive hurricane is heading straight towards Diamond City and nearly everyone enters the "let's reminiscence about our lives before we get swept up" phase...except for the Crygor and Orbulon, who are trying to construct a device to block the hurricane from touching the city at all because this is definitely the final episode. Mmmhmm, the final one. The one episode that is truly final. That final episode.
Mike & the Bidding Tree: Mike turns from music to a luck machine when a lightning strikes grants him the ability to see probability and uses this to become the empirical king of gambling.
The Heroes Unite: Lulu, with the help of Kat & Ana, 9 & 18 Volt, Penny, and Red for one final heroic quest: finish her cho- I mean, CONQUER THE SEVEN TRIALS OF MOMADIA!
A Blossoming Story: Rejected from another job opportunity, a young woman comes across the gang and they each give her a dose of what it means to be determined.
Mario Party** (Part 1): An old rival of Wario comes to Diamond City for a parade celebration and everyone grows a liking to him, indirectly making Wario feel inferior and unwelcome to the point where he leaves town for good. (Un)fortunately he leaves at a convenient time when things go from good to bad.
Smash Party Ultimate Crusade (Part 2): Evil dopplegangers invade Diamond City and Mario calls upon the many characters of Nintendo to help stop the demonic lords responsible. The WarioWare gang however try to get out of dodge knowing most of them aren’t fit or interested in this massive fight. Meanwhile, Wario laments with his dopplegangers about how he’s acted throughout the series.
WarioWare Forever (Part 3): Ashley merges with Galeem and Dharkon to become the ultimate demon sorceress and plans to sees the universe to her liking. And for this finale, it will be up to Wario to show her what she’s been burying deep down all this time. Mayhem, friendship, and tears are bound to this one last hurrah, so don’t miss out.
Monkey’s note: I’d like to thank the many who liked and shared these posts. Apologies for the long wait. A lot of thought and heart went into these for a game IP I honestly love. Especially love that I got requests for episodes to put in these posts, that was a surprise to me really. Above all, if you get a chance to read this, hope you have a good day.
Oh ye, and I’ll see to continue this with another series I’ve had in mind for a while. But I’ll cross that bridge at a later time.

Legendary extreme metal band, Cradle of Filth ravaged the Belasco Theater on Thursday with death core band, Jinjer and death metal band Uncured. The Belasco Theater was a sold out show, Los Angeles demonstrated their love for extreme metal with passion.
Uncured, the New Yorker progressive death metal band brought their raw sounds to Los Angeles. The quartet has been active since 2014, with two brutally talented guitarist, bassist and drummer. Uncured ravaged the venue, they played an insane set, the fans moshed and partied all night long. From insane guitar solos to raw vocals, Uncured delivered a powerful set. This band is going places with songs off their newest album release titled  Medusa. Drummer Liam Manley attacked his kit with aggression and technique, both guitarist (Zak Cox and Rex Cox) paced back and forth conveying a brutal sound with heavy riffs and talent. The energy of this young band was instilled in people, and the crowd was ready to destroy the the Belasco. Uncured is definitely a band that will have you headbanging, and asking for more metal to unleash your rage out. Make sure you pick your copy of their record titled Medusa, and independent release.
Jinjer, the Ukrainian metal-core band was formed in 2009 and has conquered America. Fans, left and right, are talking about the incredible talent they have, as they shined on stage at The Belasco. With Tatiana Shmaylyuk delivering gutturals, Jinjer won the hearts of Angelenos metal fans. The band played a tight set, with plenty of energy to keep the party going. The powerful vocals by Tatiana were decapitating, paired by the intense guitar work of Roman Ibramkhalilov and neck breaking drumming by Eugene Mantulin. The bass adds a crazy depth to this line up making their sound heavy. The band together delivers all their energy on stage, as the fans mosh and headband relentlessly they play songs off their newest album titled Cloud Factory. The mixture of progressive, djent death core allows for opened minded fans to enjoy their sound and at the same time witness a powerful performance.
From the haunted shores of England, the fog brought Cradle of Filth, the masters of eerie sounds and Victorian stories. Cradle of Filth has been exposing the world to their black extreme metal since 1991 and despite the multiple band line up changes they retain that sound and vision. On Thursday, April 19th 2018, the ensemble brought their wrath to the Belasco Theater and the sold out show was beyond phenomenal. Dani Filth leading the ghouls shrieked, and howled like never before. His energetic performance amped the fans, who for years have worshiped his vocals. Fans from all over California came to see them live and it was a show worth retelling. Richard Shaw on guitars played a macabre spectacle, teaming up with Marek Smerda on lead guitars, they brought the sinister tunes like “Dusk and Her Embrace”, a classic “filthian” song. This song among many like, “Gilded Cunt” ravaged the theater. The mosh pit was relentless as fans lost control of their bodies with each keyboard sound by Lindsay Schoolcraft, who behind the shadows projected evil tones and headbanged along to the melodies.
For some fans this was the event of the year, as they have followed Cradle of Filth since their High School years, for others like band members of Devil Driver and Butcher Babies it was an honor to witness this British band live. Fans wore corpse paint, gothic attire and eye contacts that resembled those of demons, the fire in their souls was tamed by the macabre songs conveyed by Cradle of Filth. The set list from this fiendish gathering was beyond perfection, Daniel Firth on bass injected the fans with catastrophic bass lines, as track “Her Ghost in The Fog” tore fan’s souls apart he rocked hard on stage. The Drummer, who behind a glass wall delivered his part, a brutal display of power is known as Martin Marthus Skaroupka, I’d like to address him as the best drummer Cradle of Filth has had in years. His membership with Cradle of Filth started in 2006, and ever since he has reigned and owned that throne he sits upon. With out missing a beat, Martin delivered riveting drum blasts, speed double bass pedal explosions and pushed the band beyond universal boundaries. Lead singer Dani Filth is at his best shape yet, he growled and screamed for nearly 2 hours, a brutal set, any Cradle of Filth fan would agree. Cradle of Filth is at their strongest, active and ready to take over Japan in their next tour. So if you dared miss this Cryptoriana World Tour, book your flight to Japan and make sure you witness a malevolent ritual.

One that I was basically forced into going to by my sorority sister, Marcia, since she wasn't taking "no" for an answer... and yet, I was shockingly getting into it. Go figure. I could practically feel the words, "I told you so" written all over Marcia's face and smile as I looked away from her; returning my eyes to the event in the center ring on the other side of the protective gate. As I watched, I clasped the bull rider's hat nervously into my hand, and I found myself on my feet as I watched the angry bull, the rider had just conquered, now charging toward him. I called out a warning, but in my mind, I figured that was pointless. I mean, I'd imagine people in this career were so focused on not getting killed by a bull, that they tuned out the crowds and noises around them. Judging by his comment as he charged into the gate immediately in front of me though, I expelled a sigh of relief knowing I helped... Well, either that or he was just being nice, but still, for now, at least, I'd take the win. I thought with a slow grin tracing my lips as I took a step closer to the gate; preparing to hand him his cowboy hat} Oh yeah? And to think, I wasn't even going to come today. Good thing for you and your hat both that I changed my mind. {I playfully aired out; ignoring Marcia when she cleared her throat loudly beside me. Knowing full well that she was giving herself credit for my attendance here today. My lingering grin only widened though and I felt my cheeks reddening slightly when the bull rider placed his "lucky hat" on my head and then commented that it looked better on my head. Was he flirting with me now? I silently wondered with a heightening grin as he followed up his words with a wink} I'll wear it proudly. {I aired back in my best effort to flirt. Nope, flirting definitely wasn't my strong suit, but hey, at least I tried. Besides, the odds of me ever seeing this guy again were slim to none, anyway, so it's not like he'd remember me anyway after tonight} Looks to me like that bull wants a rematch. {I joked through a soft chuckle, and gave a slight nod as the team continued their fight to get the bull out of the ring, and back into it's gate. Took them a bit, but eventually they succeeded; prompting the announcer to amp up an applause from the crowd for the team that tamed the bull, and then another cheer for Luke Collins, who was still at the top of the leaderboard with his score for the night. Assuming this would be his cue to return to wherever he waited with the other bull riders until the end of the event, and on the assumption I'd never see him again, I quietly aired out} Be careful out there. And hey, if you decide you want your hat back, you know where to find me. {Eh, that second weak attempt to flirt wasn't much better than my first, but oh well. At least I tried. I thought to myself as the soft grin lingered across my lips}
One person can change your life.
@ikepthishat
One person can change your life
Luke Collins the guy that raked every score on the board each time he stepped into the arena. Each time he wrapped his hand around a bull, each time palms felt the fur under his grasp. He was always aware of the dangers, of the chance when he fell off if he had nothing but dirt was going to break his fall. All he felt was power, the thin air as he rode through the arena. He’s done it countless times. Today’s competition was like any other; the start of the week of a championship rounds. Luke was the guy to beat. Did he feel nervous? No he tended to shake the nerves out before he stepped out of his truck. When he was chugging down a bottle of water. The competitions were important; if he managed to win by the end of the week it was a cash prize.
Cash Luke could use to help his mother. To keep the roof over our heads, to keep the farm going. Luke had a passion for the ring, the thrill of each ride. But ultimately he rode for his family. To help keep our animals fed, to keep the hay coming for the horses. Luke was a big talk; he was cocky, probably a tad too confident at times, used to having everything fall into his lap perfectly. Especially when it came to bull riding. He was the tropical country southern cowboy, the guy who was raised to be respectful. To be honest. He knew people that didn’t understand his tenacity to be a gentleman. Not that Luke cared; he was an honorable man.
At this moment he was leaning over the cage, looking into the arena, stands were being filled. You’d be surprised how many locals college students showed up to a bull ride event. Of course not to toot his own horn but he was handsome, the amount of single ladies that made a one liner to try to ache for his attention. Luke was reserved, his mother liked to joke about the times her own son refused to give a local lady a chance. He was told if it was meant to be he’d feel it in his gut. That was a conversation for another day. Instead he exhaled a airy breath as he pushed himself off the gate. His manager was waving the hat to let him know it was go time.
A routine, the male had walked through to the ladder, where he climbed to the upper level. The bull was set; the huffs to be heard. Each bull was different; some more dangerous than others; this one was huffing his legs were pushing forward. Eyes darted from the animal under him to the arena; the countdown was in motion. Luke leaped forward straddling his legs around the bull as tight as possible, his palm gripped hold of the reigns, his arm prepared to lift up at the bell. A nod to the guy in charge, the bell ran out and gates lifted open.
“ Let’s go buddy.” He always said buddy to the bulls as the bull ran forward. Hand in the right position as he felt his body wobbly against the bull. He knew the count; how long he had to stay on top, seconds he lost count as he held his weight, as he was passing the sidelines, where waves of fans were screaming, his cowboy hat flew off, he didn’t have time to reach for it, figuring he’d make a hunt down for the hat later; pressing matters as he held his weight on the bull.
Time we lose, as we focus; he was waiting for the next bell to indicate he stayed on the limit of time. Grips tighten as if his palm was turning white at the tightness.

How to Have a Good Hair Day Even When It’s Effing Cold Outside
Winter can inflict some serious damage on your skin but it doesn’t end there; bitterly cold winds aren’t doing your hair any favors either. Once humidity levels in the air drop to 60% and lower, dryness and static in your hair start to rear their ugly heads, says Dr. Jenny Thomas, principal scientist for Pantene. Between split ends, static frizz and hat head, the winter hair struggle is real.
Here, Thomas and New York and Toronto-based hairstylist Jason Lee break down how to conquer even the most frustrating of winter hair dilemmas.
Mind Your Moisture
“Most winter hair concerns boil down to the moisture level in your hair,” says Thomas. “That moisture depends a lot on the temperature and humidity around your hair.” Whether you’re sitting inside with dry, hot air pumping out of heaters or outside in sub-zero temps, your mane is constantly trying to balance itself with the temperature and humidity (or lack thereof) surrounding it. To minimize how your hair reacts to its environment, the best defense is stocking up on conditioner to keep moisture levels up. “Conditioners help your hair be less at the whim of the environment by keeping the moisture in your hair more balanced,” says Thomas. She suggests reaching for an ultra-hydrating formula while super parched strands should use a weekly hair mask to amp up hydration even more. “Masks are more potent and they can penetrate the hair a bit deeper,” she says.
Curb Static
One of the most common winter hair complaints is static-ridden strands. These sparks occur when you introduce friction (often from hats, scarves, etc.) to a moisture-parched mane. Friction throws off the protein structure of your hair causing each strand to act like magnets and repel each other, but there are a few easy hacks to fight this. According to Thomas, again using conditioner boosts your hair’s moisture level and reduces friction, shielding it from unwanted fly away. Lee recommends giving your locks an extra hit of hydration with a rich, moisturizing shampoo and applying a clear glaze treatment to add shine and moisture back to dull, lacklustre strands. For an on-the-go fix, he suggests stashing a few dryer sheets in your purse to swipe over your head if it gets hit with the frizz. “They will help to reduce the static in your hair when you’re in a bind.” If your long hair is always fighting off static frizz, Lee recommends keeping your hair in a loose braid while wearing big coats and scarves to minimize friction and to avoid the tangled mess that can happen at the back of your neck.
Step Away From The Hot Tools
In line with keeping your hair happy and hydrated is how often you’re heat styling. “Stay away from flat irons and excessive use of other heated tools as it will just dry out the hair even further,” says Lee. He specifically calls out flat irons as public enemy number one for causing dryness and upping static. If cutting out hot tools altogether isn’t realistic, Lee says that it’s key to arm yourself with hydrating creams and oils like coconut and argan to minimize dryness. Another way to limit heat styling is to cut back on how often you’re washing your hair in the winter. “The less times you have to dry your hair the better,” he says. Prolong your blow outs a few days longer by spritzing on an oil-absorbing dry shampoo.
Wave Goodbye to Hat Hair
Having a cozy toque is essential to surviving a long, cold Canadian winter but wearing one can bring with it the dreaded hat hair. “When you’re wearing a hat, the hair underneath it, for all it knows, could be in the Bahamas as it’s nice and toasty and humid under there, while the bottom part of your hair is seeing Antarctica,” says Thomas. There’s a battle between the two different environments happening and it’s that imbalance that creates the crease where those two ecosystems are meeting. The drawbacks of hat head aren’t universal — sometimes hair gets flat under there while other times it might get frizzy depending on your hair texture— but the outcome is inevitable: that blowout you worked so hard on that morning is now all messed up. If you fall victim to messy hat head, Lee advises keeping products on hand that will freshen up your hair, add volume or tame unruly strands like a styling mist or a dry shampoo.
Stay on Top of Split Ends
Split ends are a pain year-round, but with the low levels of moisture in the winter air, they’re more likely to pop up once the temperature drops. Decreased humidity and dry air exacerbate fragile hair, causing the ends to split apart. The problem is that once they’re split, they can’t be fixed; they can only be temporarily sealed back together. Lee says that regular trims is the best prevention against raggedy ends and to use a lightweight split end cream or serum in-between salon visits to keep your hair smooth and shiny despite the ravages of the winter.

Free Zombrex!
Having trouble getting Zombrex for your dear daughter? Fear no longer! Certain missions give out Zombrex for rescuing survivors and you can even find some sitting around on high ledges.
1 // Code Blue, Inside the Slot Ranch Casino: Behind the stage curtains there are some equipment boxes. Jump on them, then to the giant dice, and finally across the gap to claim your prize. You can easily see the Zombrex beforehand, but not jump to it, if you walk up the metal stairs.
2 // Code Blue, Inside the Yucatan Casino: Go to the giant idol in the center and simply jump up the conveniently stair-shaped sides until you reach the offering plate. There you’ll find some Zombrex and a Light Machine Gun.
3 // If you are finding it hard to come across some zombrex rather than buying it, why not find it? If you check out the stage in Slot Ranch Casino head behind the curtain and to your right side is some boxes. Carry on around towards the maintenance room behind the stage and climb the boxes to the right of the door as you face it. You will see a nice free bit of Zombrex on top of the highest boxes. (Note: You cannot jump to the boxes from the overhead mez floor).
4 // You can find some extra Zombrex in the underground tunnel after completing the “Ticket to Ride” mission. It is near the underground access ladder underneath the Atlantica casino.
5 // In Big Roy’s Mart in Royal Flush Plaza (case related).
6 // Go to the stairs in Bennie Jack’s BBQ Shack in the Americana Casino and turn right when going up the stairs to the second floor. Jump on the balcony and then onto the closest light. Keep jumping across the lights until you reach the end.
7 // Backstage behind the curtain at Slot Ranch Casino. Climb up a stack of boxes and speakers. Jump onto a smaller stack of boxes and speakers to find it.
8 // Save the paramedic in the “Code Blue” mission. Bring the paramedic to Dean (“Once Bitten” mission), and the paramedic will give Dean a free Zombrex.
9 // On top of the tallest slot machine display in the middle of Yucatan Casino.
10 // Defeat the Postal Worker (mission related) in Royal Flush Plaza.
11 // Bring Richard (Hunger Pains) food and rescue him in the Silver Strip Diner.
Extinguish The Slappy Boss Fight
It may sound silly but there is an easy way to beat Slappy. Inside the toy shop where you fight him, there are squirt guns. Grab one or two of them, then shoot him with the squirt gun a few times. He will then struggle with his flamethrower as the water messes with them. You should be able to get a few hits with a mele weapon, then take cover. Repeat shooting him with the Squirtgun and swithing to a spiked bat or Defiler.
All Zombrex Locations
Go to The Amaricanna Casiono, then go to the upstairs of the BBQ shak, look to your left and you will see square looking lights, jump onto them (make sure to press a to climb) do that until you reach the end you’ll find a stash of cash and the zombrex. Next got to the Yukosan Casiono and in the middle of the casino you’ll find a water well. Climb up the side and jump on the platform on the left side, you’ll find an LMG and the Zombrex. Next is at the slot rance casino, head to the stage and go behind it its on top of a big box so you’ll have to jump on the smaller connected boxes then keep climbing and it’ll be there on top, Lastly the last zombrex is located underground under the bottom of the slot ranch casino its very easy to find, and this should be enough to keep your daughter well :).

Hidden Missions
1: Inside the Yucatan, before you meet Rebecca on Day 1. An optional boss fight is here, along with a survivor hiding in the offices. Head on over to the Food Court and raid it for Steak, and ONLY Steak. Upon entering the Yucatan you will be greeted with a cutscene. Afterwards, beat down Ted, watch him die, then hop up on top of Snowflake’s house. You should find 3 steaks total around her enclosure. Toss them way out there and wait. You’ll know when she’s eaten some because her health bar will have filled a bit. Just remember to stay out of reach, otherwise she’ll use YOU for lunch. After about 6 Steaks you’ll be greeted with another scene. Finally, save the poor guy trapped inside the Yucatan’s office.
2: Royal Flush Plaza, Casual Gals store, Day 1. After rescuing his wife located directly in front of the Safe Room hallway, Gordon will appear here and need your help getting back.
3: Royal Flush Plaza, upstairs, during the Rock Heroes mission. While escorting the band, swing by up here to see 3 girls doing their shopping. To get them to follow you have to carry their delicate shopping boxes back to the Safe Room.
4: Americana Casino, VIP Poker Room. Starting midway through Day 2, some high-rolling poker players will set up a game here. To save them, you must pay the $100,000 buy-in then win. If you lose, you have to pay $100,000 AGAIN and keep trying.
5: Food Court, after the Tastes Like Chicken boss fight. So, you’ve killed the psycho and untied the damsel, but she thinks you’re a terrorist and won’t come with you unless Jasper shows up. He happens to be in the Food Court too, but in an unlikely place. Find the nearest vending machines and get to climbing. You’ll find him on one of the many restuarant awnings. Re-unite the pair and hoof it home.
