The Pros and Cons of Using a Recruitment Agency for Job Search
Job seekers often wonder whether they should apply for jobs directly or seek the assistance of a recruitment agency. While recruitment agencies can provide valuable opportunities, there are also some drawbacks to consider. Understanding the pros and cons of using a recruitment agency can help candidates make an informed decision about their job search, especially in competitive fields like sales hiring.
Pros of Using a Recruitment Agency
1. Access to Exclusive Job Opportunities
Many companies prefer to work with recruitment agencies rather than advertising positions publicly. This means candidates working with agencies often get access to exclusive job listings that aren’t available on traditional job boards.
2. Industry Expertise and Guidance
Recruitment agencies specialize in various industries, including sales hiring. They understand market trends, salary expectations, and the specific skills employers seek. Candidates can receive expert guidance on how to tailor their resumes, improve interview performance, and negotiate salaries.
3. Time-Saving and Convenience
Searching for a job can be time-consuming. Recruitment agencies streamline the process by matching candidates with suitable roles based on their qualifications and experience. This saves job seekers hours of job searching and application submissions.
4. Strong Employer Connections
Recruitment agencies have established relationships with hiring managers. When a candidate is referred by an agency, it often increases their chances of being noticed and considered for the role.
5. Assistance with Negotiation
Many job seekers struggle with salary negotiations. A recruitment agency can help candidates secure better compensation by negotiating on their behalf based on industry standards and company budgets.
Cons of Using a Recruitment Agency
1. Limited Control Over Job Applications
Candidates who work with a recruitment agency may not always have full control over where their resume is sent. Agencies match candidates with roles they believe are suitable, which may not always align with a candidate’s personal preferences.
2. Focus on Employer Needs Over Job Seekers
Recruitment agencies are paid by employers, not job seekers. This means their primary focus is filling vacancies for companies rather than prioritizing the individual needs of job seekers. In some cases, candidates may feel pressured to accept roles that aren’t the best fit.
3. Not All Agencies Are Equal
Some recruitment agencies specialize in high-quality placements, while others prioritize quick placements to earn commissions. Job seekers must research and choose reputable agencies, particularly in competitive fields like sales hiring.
4. Potential for Contract or Temporary Roles
Many recruitment agencies specialize in contract, temporary, or commission-based roles, particularly in sales hiring. While these positions can be valuable stepping stones, they may not be ideal for candidates seeking long-term stability.
5. Possible Communication Gaps
Since recruitment agencies handle multiple candidates, job seekers may experience delays in receiving feedback or updates on their applications. Some agencies may not provide regular follow-ups, leading to frustration.
Conclusion
Using a recruitment agency for a job search has both advantages and disadvantages. While agencies can provide access to exclusive job opportunities, industry expertise, and negotiation assistance, candidates may have limited control over applications and face challenges with agency priorities. Job seekers in sales hiring and other competitive fields should carefully select a reputable recruitment agency to maximize their chances of securing the right job.

I was just thinking about the Dog Bois dancing!!! I figured Machete would be a little awkward and embarrassed, but Vasco would be a patient and enthusiastic teacher
.
#on the list of romantic couples activities that make me kind of sad if I actually stop to think about it for longer than three seconds#obviously dancing can't happen in public#the technology to record music doesn't exist yet so everything has to be played live in person#would they risk hiring a musician or a few if they did it behind closed doors at home#or is practicing dancing in silence the only option#an-autistic-with-personhood#answered#I reckon Vasco would be adept at least a handful of court dances I think that's a standard upper crust pastime#Machete would feel foolish about even trying but be quietly thankful about being included

AU where Stockman decides to leave the foot clan after he initially gets his eye gouged out and then goes looking around for other potential employers that interest him (traits including that they have Interesting- if not necessarily legal- work and probably will be able to keep the foot clan from getting to him again because I can't imagine that Oruku Saki takes kindly to a defector) and one way or another ends up discovering the EPF.
And Baxter is a smart man who happens to be getting out of a previous job where he got maimed, so he's a little bit cautious about the organization and looks into it. Which probably involves a bit of hacking and accessing government documents that he really shouldn't have access to, let's be real, but one way or another he decides its a good fit and gets an interview. For sake of the scenario I think Bishop himself is doing the interview, maybe because Stockman is a pretty high profile, talented person, and Bishop wants to see for himself what he's like.
So the interview starts and goes as interviews do, Baxter bragging about himself up and down and probably also dropping hints that he's down to do illegal things because let's be real the EPF does so many illegal things. And then at some point he starts hinting at things that are buried deeper and that he shouldn't be able to know at all. Things about the EPF's true nature that shouldn't be available to a civilian, sure, but also things about Bishop. Things that are so deeply hidden that nobody but himself and maybe the president should be able to know.
And since let's be real subtlety is not Stockman's strong suit this is probably him being like "hey given that you founded the EPF that means you've been alive since at least 1870 what's up with that?" in the middle of the interview before going back to talking about how awesome and smart he is.
And Bishop is just sitting there going "I think my only options are to hire this guy or kill him."
#bambi's rambling#tmnt 2003#tmnt 2003 au#2003 baxter stockman#2003 bishop#eye trauma mention#and then stockman gets hired obviously thats the funniest option#let him at that alien ship that bishop has squirreled away in area 51 he will create technology aliens themselves can only dream of!#it comes at the low low price of him being a petty asshole to everyone around him! including bishop!#anyway the idea of bishop agreeing to an interview because hey this guy is *known* to be incredibly smart and also he went missing???#might as well see what all that's about#and then getting all of his personal information recited to his face. by a guy who's motivation for doing so is 'surely this will get me hi#it would be such a fun dynamic

New Year’s resolution is to post more so I’m gonna start off with critiquing generative AI.

My dad sent me this for new years. Obviously he didn’t know it was Ai and I didn’t immediately know for sure but I got the feeling. The feeling that’s like “hey something is off about this.” I wanted to talk about the process of recognition that I go through as an artist when I see something made by Ai because a lot of the time at first glance nothing seems wrong.
First thing that I notice is how after 2025 there something that is clearly supposed to be an exclamation point but it’s too small and incomplete. This immediately made me realize for sure that it’s Ai. Ai is usually bad at doing text and it would be pretty easy for a human to fix.
Then I see the rest of the inconsistencies. The n in new is disconnected. There is a stray line coming out of the h in happy. Snoopy’s hands: one has a different line weight and the other has a finger that’s way too small. The stray little lines on Snoopy’s mouth. Woodstock only having one eye brow. Then this part is debatable since it is clearly trying to replicate the style of the CGI Peanuts movie, but Snoopy’s eyes being different sizes bothers me. The ear which I didn’t even circle is probably trying to replicate the loosely colored in ears in the comic strip, but in the CGI version it’s fully colored in. The golden firework blending into the top of Snoopy’s hat. Woodstock’s hands. Woodstock’s feet. The blurriness of Snoopy’s foot that isn’t anywhere else. The lines on Snoopy’s foot which doesn’t reach the end. The blurriness at the top of Woodstock’s head.
As an artist in art school we are critiqued on every little detail of our work. These kinds of inconsistencies are not okay for professional artists to make so the idea that companies want to use Ai shows how little they cared about artists in the first place. Any company that uses Ai instead of hiring an artist is clearly is cheap and is making themselves look bad.
I know that Ai can look convincing and pretty at first glance, but I want people to look at artwork for more than a few seconds. With social media everything is so fast paced and we are conditioned to to want instant gratification, so Ai is a quick and easy way to make ‘content.’ But the things that generative Ai makes are low quality and infuriating to see as an artist. I would much rather see someone try to make art as a beginner than see a computer steal art from other people.
So when you share or like something take an extra second to see if it was made by a person because if a person didn’t even care enough to make it it’s not worth your time.
Any other artists feel free to point out anything that I missed.
#anti ai#anti ai art#anti generative ai#I hate that ai is being used mostly for this rather than things that humans can’t do like finding cancer cells super early#people want to make art for peopl deserve to be paid#when people are hiring artists they look for talented people and ai can’t fix the mistakes it makes#why would we want to consume ‘art’ that isn’t made by people#people who allow generative Ai to be used and spread like don’t understand why people make things#taking the person out of making art is just so infuriating#I don’t care if someone thinks generative Ai is this neat technology there needs to be restrictions but the laws are going to take forever#critical thinking on the internet so important because people can not tell the difference everyone please educate yourself as best you can

Thinking about how when I was in middle school I thought I was the most original person in the world for coming up with the idea of cave elves in some intense political fantasy story I was writing only to find out that I did not in fact come up with the concept of cave elves and the high political drama of elves bring displaced and crammed into cities and discriminated against was literally exactly the setup of dragon age origins
#i was soooooooo mad when i played dao the first time bc i was like FUCK MY IDEA ISNT ORIGINAL ANYMORE#my world was basically dragon age but closer to the industrial revolution and with cave elves instead of regular elves#they were displaced from the caves they lived in because the surrounding cities wanted to mine for raw materials bc of the new high need for#metals due to the changing technology#so after displacing the elves they then hired all the elves as extremely underpaid and exploited miners#my story took place one generation later so now theres a bunch of cave elves who were born in the city and their perceptions of home are#different from their parents bc theyve only ever known the caves as a source of money and also torment#but thats all just the backdrop for the actual story that would be taking place which was all about learning to trust and finding a personal#identity once you heal from your traumas

The Role of Recruitment Agencies in Reducing Employee Turnover
Employee turnover is a major challenge for businesses across industries. High turnover rates can lead to increased hiring costs, reduced productivity, and negative workplace morale. To tackle this issue, companies are increasingly relying on recruitment agencies and specialized hiring solutions to find and retain the right talent. A well-matched employee is more likely to stay with the company long-term, reducing the risks associated with frequent replacements.
1. Understanding Employee Turnover
Employee turnover refers to the rate at which employees leave a company and need to be replaced. High turnover can result from various factors, including:
Poor job fit or mismatched skills
Lack of career growth opportunities
Workplace dissatisfaction
Poor onboarding and training
Ineffective leadership or management
A recruitment agency plays a crucial role in addressing these challenges by ensuring that new hires are the right fit for both the job and the company culture.
2. How Recruitment Agencies Reduce Employee Turnover
Recruitment agencies help businesses lower turnover rates through strategic hiring and effective hiring solutions. Here’s how:
a) Identifying the Right Talent
One of the primary reasons employees leave their jobs is a mismatch between their skills and the role. A recruitment agency conducts thorough screening processes to ensure that candidates have the required qualifications, experience, and cultural alignment with the company. By placing the right people in the right roles, businesses can significantly reduce turnover.
b) Streamlining the Hiring Process
Recruitment agencies have access to vast talent pools, allowing them to source top candidates quickly and efficiently. This reduces hiring time and ensures that companies do not rush into hiring the wrong candidates out of desperation. A well-planned hiring process increases the likelihood of long-term employee retention.
c) Offering Data-Driven Hiring Solutions
Modern hiring solutions leverage data analytics, AI-powered assessments, and psychometric testing to evaluate candidates beyond just their resumes. By using these tools, recruitment agencies can predict an employee’s success in a role and their likelihood of staying with the company.
d) Improving Onboarding and Training
The onboarding process plays a significant role in employee satisfaction and retention. Recruitment agencies often assist with structured onboarding programs, ensuring that new hires integrate smoothly into their roles. A well-trained employee is more engaged and less likely to leave the company prematurely.
e) Providing Market Insights and Competitive Salaries
Many employees leave due to inadequate compensation or better offers elsewhere. A recruitment agency provides businesses with insights into industry salary trends, ensuring they offer competitive packages that attract and retain top talent.
f) Enhancing Employee Engagement and Career Growth
Recruitment agencies don’t just help with hiring; they also provide workforce solutions that support employee engagement and career development. By recommending ongoing training programs and mentorship opportunities, they help businesses create a more satisfied and loyal workforce.
Conclusion
Reducing employee turnover is essential for business stability and growth. A recruitment agency plays a key role in this process by implementing effective hiring solutions that focus on talent matching, strategic onboarding, and employee engagement. Companies that invest in professional recruitment services can build a strong, committed workforce, leading to long-term success and reduced hiring costs.

I do find it so funny that I will graduate college days away from my birthday. Like my birthday is literally in between the end of the semester ("graduation") and commencement
It really will be like a joint graduation & birthday party for me lmao
#speculation nation#i dont really do birthday parties anymore. havent in a long time. mostly just go out and do smth fun around my bday. ya kno#also have cake but like not in a party way. just like. here's cake lol#but im probably only gonna graduate from college once. which means i might as well live it up and all.#invite all sorts of extended family and people who have known me. etc etc.#actually it just kinda sunk in that i am. Computer and Information Technology (Systems Analysis and Design focus) w a minor in Communication#like those are words. it's a lot of words but actually it really is pretty accurate?? like that's indeed what ive been studying.#now how much i *remember* is another question. considering how long ive taken to get thru school lol#but that's what people will see on my degree. that's my Thing. graduated in Computer Systems and Talking.#idk it's just weird to have spent so much of my life on this and like That's the culmination. it took so much work.#even beyond a normal 4 years. i switched my major *twice*. switched my minor too.#first year engineering to undecided liberal arts (as a temp major trying to switch to computer science bc i couldnt stay in FYE)#but then computer science sucked so i switched to trying to get into computer & info tech. which is different. and better.#and ive been in it long enough now that ive kinda forgotten but it did take some fuckin work to switch into it.#like i had to take certain classes first & i couldnt take them during the semesters that in-major students would take them#and i had to have my gpa up to a certain level etc etc. so many hoops to jump thru. i think it took me at least a year. or more. idr#but i made it in and thats my major. thats my thing. computers and information systems and communication.#doesnt FEEL like im an almost-graduate. but then i think about all the things ive taken and learned.#and maybe i dont remember a lot of the more specific things from these classes. but i took core lessons away from each one.#wont be able to recite the theories but i can live them. and thats the point of an education i guess.#anyways im gonna have to start job searching before too long and eughhbb. need to get my license first tho probably.#which i will... i will.... i have so many things to deal with... my life will be So Different in a year...#it will require me to put in the work now. but i can do it. and then a year from now. i'll hopefully be in a better spot.#living somewhere else. graduated from college. with a license and a car. maybe even an IT job of some kind.#kind of scared of trying to find a Big Boy Job. aka a job that requires a degree and networking and all that shit.#rather than just showing up and being like Hi i can do this job. i am not a total drain of a person. hire me please 👍#hfkahfks so many things to think about. and through it all i am still dealing with DEADLINES...!!!!#but yeah this is why my writing has largely been put on hold. idk i have a lot of things im dealing with rn.
