just watched the first episode of enterprise and so many of its choices are just so insane…obviously we’ve talked about the theme song but it’s not just that there’s a theme song. it’s that the song is so weird. “we’ve come a long, long way” for a show that’s a prequel. Christian rock for a science fiction show. Captain Archer brought his fucking dog space.

I didn’t say I didn’t like it.

The great thing abt DS9 is that one episode can be abt Kira being hesitant, even resistant, abt forcing a Bajoran man off the land he cultivated after he escaped a labor camp bc she recognizes herself in him; the underdog, the cockroach who refuses to die under the heel of an oppressive authority. But now, she's become the authority and it disgusts her

Ultimately, she chooses to fulfill her duties and look after her own self-interests. She destroys Mullibok's home and takes him back alive, despite his insistence that he would rather be dead than ever leave the moon he found sanctuary on, her actions not unlike the Cardassians who oppressed them both
