A szöcskék
(Tettigonioidea) az egyenesszárnyúak (Orthoptera) rendjébe tartozó tojócsövesek (Ensifera) alrendjének egyik öregcsaládja. Az öregcsalád egyetlen recens családja a fürgeszöcskéké (Tettigoniidae), mivel a Haglotettigoniidae család kihalt.
A felnőtt egyedekre hasonlító ivadékaik kifejléssel (epimorfózis) jutnak el ivarérett állapotukba.[1]

One night in Nicaragua I was trying to get some sleep at one of the research stations we were stopped at, but something in the room was making a real big ruckus and keeping me up. Eventually, I heard it get close to my head so I went and grabbed for it only to feel something bite down HARD on my finger. I made a number of embarrassing noises of surprise and distress and flapped my hand around like an idiot but the thing stays clamped. I fumbled for my headlamp with my other hand and reveal this fucking asshole just going to town on my fingermeat. I ended up having to stick it and my bleeding finger in a 50ml tube of alcohol until it died.
Anyway, that’s why the common name for Lirometopum coronatum is the pitbull katydid

Ein grünes Pferd im Garten …
Das Grüne Heupferd (Tettigonia viridissima) „Ein Pferd! ein Pferd! Mein Königreich für ein Pferd!“ („A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a horse!“), heißt es in William Shakespeares Drama „Richard III“. Wir haben kein Königreich, aber im “Gärtnerinnenreich” der Markgräflerin gibt es zwar keine rosafarbenen Einhörner, dafür aber ein Grünes (Heu-)Pferd! Hier mal wieder einen kleinen Schnappschuss aus…

Baby katydids. Insects in the family Tettigoniidae are commonly called katydids (in Australia, South Africa, Canada, and the United States), or bush crickets. They have previously been known as "long-horned grasshoppers". More than 6,400 species are known. Part of the suborder Ensifera, the Tettigoniidae are the only extant (living) family in the superfamily Tettigonioidea. ... ______________________________________ @insect.mov (©) Oleksand Kabanov macro shot insect ______________________________________ #macrogrammers #macroclique #macro_brilliance #macro_perfection #macro_of_our_world #macro_highlight #top_macro #wms_macro #katydid #electric_macro #arthropodsanonymous #arthropod_perfection #grasshopper #soul_made_macro #flowers #macro_spotlight #instamacro #macrogram #igbest_macros #masters_in_macro #insect #bombylius #macro #insectguru #kings_insects #invert_macro #insects_of_our_world #earthcapture #ip_insects #yourshotmacro (at Planet Earth) https://www.instagram.com/p/CE3TD5oAHzF/?igshid=1q3wkc73herw0
