PMP – Inger Bergström, Lotte Nilsson Välimaa, Cilla Ramnek och Katarina Wiklund
Jakobsbergs konsthall 3 september – 8 oktober 2022
I Jakobsbergs konsthall visar PMP en installation där tankar om ett arkiv, en gardin och en skulptural gestaltning materialiserar sig. PMP är en konstellation av fyra konstnärer: Inger Bergström, Cilla Ramnek, Lotte Nilsson Välimaa och Katarina Wiklund som arbetar med rumsliga, temporära och permanenta gestaltningar. Konstnärerna har alla varit verksamma på konstscenen sedan 90-talet. De har tillsammans, individuellt och i andra konstellationer, initierat och medverkat i flertalet konstprojekt där rummets förutsättningar och kontext utgör startpunkten.
Samtliga fyra är utbildade på Konstfack, där deras fokus låg på konst med textil inriktning. Som etablerade konstnärer har de bidragit till utvecklingen och utvidgningen av det samtida textila konstfältet under de senaste decennierna.
Vi kliver in i konsthallens arkivrum med en idé om vår kommande utställning. Under diskussioner mättade av igenkänning, vikt och ambivalens har vi närmat oss tanken att bygga upp en installation där vi lyfter fram andra konstnärers verk från konsthallens arkiv.
Vi plockar ur hyllorna varsamt; målningar, skulpturer, vävar och grafiska blad. Men det är som att vår uppmärksamhet vandrar i väg till andra delar av rummet. Vi stannar framför strikt förvaring av svarta vhs-band märkta med gul dymotejp, rader av rullband i röda boxar med textade ryggar och noggrant sorterade staplar av beiga arkivmappar. Det visuella är en närmast delirisk upplevelse – arkivmaterialet som grafiska randningar i rummets hyllsystem. Och samtidigt blir vi berörda av den ofattbart minutiösa ambitionen att samla och organisera ett nu för en framtid. Det finns något så mänskligt över samlingen, förhoppningar, timmar som lagts ner i detta minne.
Under processen med denna installation har dessa tankar och infall om arkivrummet varit närvarande, det blev också vårt material.
Den kanske landar, kanske lättar.
