"All three of these movies are about a connection between two people..."
~Ethan Hawke
It's crazy and so amazingly intimate to see how this connection between two people plays out over almost 20 years. I love how real it is. It shows how real connections don't happen in a vacuum and that true connections can grow with your growth and adapt to the passage of time.

something something, Richard Linklater and co wrote Before Sunrise as a meditation on cynicism and romanticism, and then Before Sunset is a pure product of romanticism (what are the odds of meeting again nine years later?) while Before Midnight makes a case for the cynical aspect of marriage even in this "happily ever after" scenario

Here are my favorite movies/tv shows even though no one asked:
Little women 2019 and Lady bird (Greta Gerwig is a star)
Howls moving castle (first anime I’ve ever watched and it’s AMAZING)
The Before trilogy (especially Before Sunrise but also the trilogy as a whole, it’s so realistic and intimate — it really feels like watching two real life people connect and fall in love)
Dead poets society (don’t know how I survived this one)
The Perks of being a wallflower (this is for some reason my comfort movie even though it always makes me cry my eyes out)
Call me by your name (this movie makes me feel homesick for a place I’ve never even been to)
Bones and all (never knew how romantic cannibalism could be before I watched this movie)
The last of us (a masterpiece)
Anne with an E (never going to forgive netflix for canceling this one)
Young royals (this one makes me proud of being swedish)

If the world knew how much you loathed it, would it weep?
If the world knew how much you loved it, would it weep?
If you knew how much I wished to be a part of you, would you dance?
If you knew that we would not meet again, would you dance one last time with me?
