The TFS Newspapers About The Creel Murders (Edward Creel is So Real)
So, I already talked in this post about how the events of TFS seem to align (at least somewhat) with what the in-show Indianapolis Gazette says about the Creel murders, and now, I want to go through all of the papers we see about the Creel murders in TFS. Unfortunately, because I couldnt record parts of the screen, I don’t have the ENTIRE articles.
Anyway! Here’s the articles.
Starting with the Indianapolis Gazette:
The Indianapolis Gazette
So, the first article we see in TFS re: the Creel murders is the Indianapolis Gazette. However, we see TWO Indianapolis Gazette articles during this segment, and while the second one is definitely about the Creel murders, I’m not 100% sure if the first one is.
Article 1
Tumblr media
Title: Community In Shock After Triple Murder
Subtitle: (NOT VISIBLE) discovered in (NOT VISIBLE) macabre scenes
Date: Friday, November 20th, 1959
Content:
Parts of the article are visible but sadly most of it was too blurry for me to read in the footage I have.
Here’s what I did manage to make out:
“(NOT VISIBLE) investigation unfolds, (Hawkins ?) residents are left to (NOT VISIBLE) the image of their (NOT VISIBLE) town with the (NOT VISIBLE) undercurrents that (NOT VISIBLE) been exposed (NOT VISIBLE) meetings and (NOT VISIBLE) have sprung up in an effort to provide (NOT VISIBLE) and solidarity in the face of uncertainty. Local law enforcement is working (NOT VISIBLE) to put an (NOT VISIBLE)
What’s Different Compared To The In-Show Indianapolis Gazette?
The date is different. The date on the in-show Indianapolis Gazette is Thursday, March 26th, 1959. The date on this Indianapolis Gazette is Friday, November 20th, 1959.
The title and subtitle of the article are different.
The photo present in this article isn’t present in the in-show Indianapolis Gazette
Whats The Same Compared To The In-Show Indianapolis Gazette?
Nothing, as far as I can tell.
Other Notes:
Friday, November 20th, 1959 was a real date,
Friday, November 20th, 1959 was the date that the UN adopted the Universal Declaration of Children's Rights (something I’m working on a second post about)
This article may or may not be referring to the Creel murders, or may be referring to another triple homicide. However, this also makes me think of Robin in the Creel house specifically mentioning a “triple homicide”:
Tumblr media
The car in the photo looks like it MIGHT be the Creel family car.
Tumblr media
Article 2
Tumblr media
Title: 3 Dead As Police Probe Grisly Scene
Subtitle: Bodies Left Mutilated, Eyeless; Creel Defiant
Date: Thursday, December 02, 1959
Content:
The entire article is cut off.
What’s Different Compared To The In-Show Indianapolis Gazette?
The date is different. The date on the in-show Indianapolis Gazette is Thursday, March 26th, 1959. The date on this Indianapolis Gazette is Thursday, December 2nd, 1959.
The date of the in-show Indianapolis Gazette actually existed IRL. The date of this TFS Indianapolis Gazette did not.
Whats The Same Compared To The In-Show Indianapolis Gazette?
The title and subtitle are the same.
Both dates are a thursday.
Other Notes:
Thursday, December 2nd, 1959 did not actually exist- it was a Wednesday. Thursday, March 26th, 1959 DID exist. Interestingly enough, in the Dear Billy script/Henry timeline, the murders happened on a Wednesday- Wednesday, March 25th, 1959. And that date did exist IRL.
The Hawkins Post
Tumblr media
And we also get a TINY snippet of a Hawkins Post article about the Creel murders- this is extra interesting because there is NO in-show Hawkins Post article about the Creel murders that we ever see- a Hawkins Post article about the Creel murders entirely is new to TFS. However, the Roane Daily Citizen paper paper that IS present in-show does not show up in TFS at all.
Title: not shown
Subtitle: not shown
Date: not shown
Content:
First Column
Tumblr media
“(NOT VISIBLE)- a lack of trust in- (NOT VISIBLE)- you would think that (NOT VISIBLE) would know (NOT VISIBLE) the lights on, says Isa- (NOT VISIBLE), mother of 5.
(NOT VISIBLE) charges in court (NOT VISIBLE). (His or her) charges range from (NOT VISIBLE) under the influence (NOT VISIBLE) to disrupt private (NOT VISIBLE) to sabotage of a private (NOT VISIBLE) (?) Electric).
(NOT VISIBLE) have advised (NOT VISIBLE) should return (NOT VISIBLE) end of the (BOT VISIBLE).”
So, with this first column, first of all, the wording of “mother of five,” is interesting because we also see a paper later on that mentioned that the lab was looking for pregnant test subjects- which makes me wonder about subtext and if this woman is also the mother of 005 (in addition to the surface level text of her having 5 children).
And second of all, article talks about a mother of 5 seemingly claiming that she would know if she left her lights on- and then goes on to talk about (NOT VISIBLE) Electric- likely Hawkins Power and Electric.
Which, that ties RIGHT in what I’ve talked about regarding the lab pre-planning the Creel murders and the flickering lights in the Creel house and how Henry always looked confused by them (implying he wasnt causing them) and how it would tie into the lab doing that/messing with the lights to mess with the Creels (by making Victor think the house is haunted and making Virginia think that Henry was the one messing with the lights/causing issues, as she already suspected he had powers/“she somehow knew” AND TFS Brenner says that Virginia claimed Henry had powers, so she definitely suspected it).
Second Column
Tumblr media
“(NOT VISIBLE) questioner that “I am innocent. I did not kill my own family.”
“He was seen talking to bystanders, without a lawyer, screaming nonsensical gibberish. One bystander thought he heard Creel talk about “demonic activity,” but Hawkins Post cannot independently confirm that accusation at this present time.”
I didn’t include the transcription of the article section about Patty here because that’s going to be its own post.
Third Column
Tumblr media
“(NOT VISIBLE) was known as a (NOT VISIBLE)”
So, while this first sentence/the end of the prior paragraph that’s cut off is really hard to read, and we can only read a bit of it, I will NOT be surprised if this part is referring to Edward Creel (and I’ll talk in the next part about why I think this is about EDWARD and not Henry)- and either way, I think it’s referring to Edward/the Creel son because it’s talking about somebody being “known as” something, and then the NEXT paragraph (in the next part) talks about the Creel DAUGHTER being known for something too/“while young Virginia was known well for her-“ and so, it’s almost like theyre talking about what both the kids were known for.
And so, here’s that next part:
“While young Virginia was known well for her (NOT VISIBLE) of the local flowers at (NOT VISIBLE) on Main Street. Alice and Virginia would regularly visit (NOT VISIBLE) would make a (NOT VISIBLE- point?) purchase blooms on Sunday. The only difference (NOT VISIBLE) that this past Sunday, Alice and Virginia would not be returning. Instead, a community (would be left?) wondering why and (NOT VISIBLE) from the most shocking (NOT VISIBLE) in Hawkins history.”
And look at that opening line:- “while young VIRGINIA”. This is why I think this article is an Edward article/referring to Edward in that previous little snippet line- because “young Virginia” is NOT the wording you’d use for a very-much grown adult woman, which aligns completely with how Virginia is listed as the daughter in the Edward timeline’s Indianapolis Gazette in-show. So, if Daughter Virginia is present here, and Daughter Virginia is in the Edward timeline, then that would imply that this paper is referring to the Edward timeline.
Which would also make sense re: the fact that we don’t see a Creel murders article by the Hawkins Post in-show (and instead only see this one in TFS), because that in-show scene of Nancy and Robin SEEMS to be taking place in the Henry timeline (which, that one Edward paper/Indianapolis Gazette article that they find seems to like have bled over into the Henry timeline Fringe-style, hence why this Hawkins Post article would likely still be in its original Edward timeline/simply didn’t bleed over- which also makes me wonder if that “Article 1” version of the Indianapolis Gazette from earlier, the one where I wasnt sure if it was a Creel murders article, is actually the Henry timeline’s Indianapolis Gazette article, which doesn’t show up in-show because it’s been swapped with the Edward timeline Indianapolis Gazette article).
And so, re: that first line referring to Edward, again, it seems like theyre going from talking about one Creel kid & what he was known for, to talking about the next Creel kid (Virginia) and what SHE was known for.
It’s also super weird to me that they jump right from the Indianapolis Gazette article (which is an Edward article in-show), to the Hawkins Post article (which seems to be an Edward article based on Daughter Virginia), because the amount of content shown for the Gazette vs the Post is inverse, like for the Gazette, we ONLY get the date and title and none of the actual article, but for the Post, we ONLY get part of the article, and no date or title.
However, they also don’t show us the content of the Weekly Watcher article (but they also dont show us the date, we JUST get the title and subtitle for that), which brings us to our next section.
The Weekly Watcher
Tumblr media
Title: VICTOR CREEL CLAIMS: ANCIENT DEMON KILLS FAMILY
Subtitle: The Murder That Shocked A Small Community
Date: not shown
Content: the entire article is cut off
There’s not enough info shown for this paper to know if there’s any differences in things like date and article contents compared to the in-show Weekly Watcher.
Anyway! Point is, Edward Creel is SO REAL, and we have crumbs of him here.

Piers Morgan will find many ways to deny phone hacking – but how long before his number is up?
Archie Bland
Following a judge’s ruling in favour of Prince Harry, the former Daily Mirror editor’s confected outrage is starting to look a little desperate
Mon 18 Dec 2023 14.15 GMT
So how much, exactly, did Piers Morgan know about phone hacking when he was editor of the Daily Mirror? It depends when you ask him. And since he edited the newspaper for nine years when hacking was at its zenith, and since other people similarly accused have spent time in prison, this seems important for reasons that do not depend on your feelings about Prince Harry.
On Friday, for example, Morgan had a simple line for reporters gathered outside his house. Perhaps his thinking had been clarified by the unfortunate news that a judge ruling on claims from Harry and others had found that there had been extensive hacking going on at the Daily Mirror, and that there was no doubt Morgan knew about it. Similar evidence has been presented to the Leveson inquiry and in previous litigation, but never as extensively or with such a powerful endorsement from a judge as this. But it’s all nonsense, Morgan sputtered, who would do such a thing? “I’ve never hacked a phone, or told anybody else to hack a phone,” he said. Simple.
As he also said, this is a line he’s maintained for a long time. You would be amazed at how carefully he has maintained it. He used exactly the same words to the BBC in September. He used exactly the same words to the BBC in May. He used exactly the same words on Twitter (now X) in 2015. He used exactly the same words to the Guardian in 2014. He used exactly the same words on CNN in 2011. Ask Piers Morgan what his favourite biscuit is at any point in the last 15 years and the response is likely to have been that he never hacked a phone, and he never told anyone else to, either.
If you view the narrow precision of Morgan’s repetition as interesting, you will probably go looking for other things he’s said about phone hacking. And you will find a laundry list of public statements from a bygone era that don’t exactly contradict his later recitations, but do cast them in a different light. In 2003, he told Charlotte Church that she should change the security number on her phone to stop reporters from accessing her voicemails. In 2006, he wrote that he had been “played a tape of a message Paul [McCartney] had left for Heather [Mills] on her mobile phone”. In 2007, he told Press Gazette that hacking was “an investigative practice that everyone knows was going on”.
What are we to make of this change of emphasis? If we take him at his word, we will have to conclude that Morgan knew absolutely loads about phone hacking, but had absolutely nothing to do with commissioning it. You might wonder if there was any need to tell the voicemail interception specialists used by the Mirror to hack a phone, and reflect that when you get the plumber round because your sink is blocked, you don’t need to encourage them to bring a plunger.

Alastair Campbell at Hay festival, Hay on Wye, UK, May 2018
‘Alastair Campbell gave ‘compelling evidence’ pointing to illegal techniques being used by the Mirror’s agents to obtain details of his mortgage.’ Photograph: Steven May/Alamy
The thing is, Mr Justice Fancourt didn’t take him at his word, and went to great lengths to explain why.
In rejecting the judge’s 386-page ruling, Morgan dwelled on the evidence of Omid Scobie, who was once an intern at the Mirror. Scobie said that he had heard Morgan being told that a story about Kylie Minogue was sourced from a voicemail. Morgan said Scobie was a “deluded fantasist”. As for Alastair Campbell, who, according to the judge, gave “compelling evidence” pointing to illegal techniques being used by the Mirror’s agents to obtain details of his mortgage: he is “another proven liar who spun this country into an illegal war”.
Now, you might not trust Scobie or Campbell. But what Morgan left out is that Scobie’s story fits precisely with invoices, numbers on a Mirror reporter’s phone, and a matching article about Minogue bylined to someone the judge described as “a known phone hacker”. Campbell’s claims, meanwhile, are lent considerable weight by the fact that the Mirror had just used the same private investigators to do exactly the same thing to Peter Mandelson. The corroboration for Morgan’s claim of innocence, on the other hand, is simply that he keeps making it.
Set Scobie and Campbell aside, if you think they have sold the judge a pup. Perhaps because it was cold outside, Morgan didn’t find time in his doorstep speech to critique the rest of the evidence cited in the judgment.
Melanie Cantor, an agent and publicist, said that Morgan “always seemed to be the first person to know about events that had recently happened” involving her clients, and that invoices and phone records demonstrated that she had been repeatedly hacked by the Mirror’s reporters. The judge concluded that “sensitive information … was passed to Mr Morgan, who must have known how it had been obtained”.
Benjamin Wegg-Prosser, the head of strategic communications at Downing Street under Tony Blair, said that Morgan had explained to him how hacking had been used to get a story about Ulrika Jonsson’s affair with Sven-Göran Eriksson. And David Seymour, the Mirror’s political editor, said that he had watched Morgan playing that McCartney voicemail to a group of reporters. Morgan, he added, was “unreliable and boastful [and] apt to tell untruths when it suited him”. The judge said he accepted Seymour’s evidence “without hesitation”.
Those are just the human sources. The judge also drew on mountains of invoices, emails and phone records. Still, Morgan had another card to play, another that he turns to quite a lot: an enthusiastic swing at the motivations of Prince Harry, who he said was on a mission with his wife, Meghan, to “destroy the British monarchy”.
If that is the purpose of Harry’s exhaustive legal crusade against the Mirror, the Daily Mail, and the Sun, it seems an odd way of going about it. But hacking has never just been about Harry. Even on Friday, there were three other claimants. The wider litigation involved more than 100 others.
Hacking was certainly not just about Morgan, either. But his confected outrage as the evidence against him mounts does give a sense of how we can expect the story to continue from here.
The financial consequences are instructive, too. Harry won £141,000 in damages; another claimant won £32,000; another two didn’t get a penny, because their claims were made too late. Morgan will not have to pay any of it. Meanwhile, he is under contract at Rupert Murdoch’s TalkTV and the Sun, on a deal reportedly worth about £50m. Both outlets would have had ample evidence to suggest his involvement in hacking before this case even began, and neither has shown any signs of abandoning their man, who never hacked a phone, and never told anyone else to.

Sri Lanka acting President Wickremesinghe declares emergency
Tumblr media
Jul 18, 2022 08:35 IST Colombo , July 18 (AF): Sri Lanka's Acting President Ranil Wickremesinghe issued an Extraordinary Gazette declaring a State of Emergency in the island nation with effect from Monday, as the country grapples with social unrest and crippling economic crisis. The gazette notification says, the public emergency in Sri Lanka has been declared in the interests of public security, the protection of public order and the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the life of the community, local media outlet Daily Mirror reported. The state of emergency has been declared in a proclamation by Wickremesinghe in terms of Article 40(1)(C) of the Constitution, by virtue of the powers vested in him by Section 2 of the Public Security Ordinance (Chapter 40), as amended by Act No. 8 of 1959, Law No. 6 of 1978 and Act No. 28 of 1988, the newspaper reported. Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had offered his resignation after fleeing the country to Singapore. The president first flew to the Maldives after tens of thousands of protesters stormed his official residence in the capital Colombo. The Sri Lankan Parliament announced that the nominations for the Presidential elections will be held on Tuesday and the new President of Sri Lanka will be elected on July 20. It is interesting to note that the main opposition leader Sajith Premadasa is set to contest the presidential elections. Terming the scenario of him winning Sri Lanka's presidential elections an "uphill task", Premadasa on Friday said that he will contest the elections as he is convinced that the truth will prevail. The economy in Sri Lanka is bracing for a sharp contraction due to the unavailability of basic inputs for production, an 80 per cent depreciation of the currency since March 2022, coupled with a lack of foreign reserves and the country's failure to meet its international debt obligations. Hundreds of Sri Lankans continue to queue up at petrol pumps across the debt-ridden country every day amid fuel shortage, and a large number of people are ditching their cars and motorcycles for bicycles for their daily commute. The economic crisis which is the worst in Sri Lanka's history has prompted an acute shortage of essential items like fuel. Long queues at fuel stations in Sri Lanka is the new normal and prices fluctuate subject to availability. Skyrocketing prices of fuel are also one of the reasons behind the spike in bicycle sales and some stores are running out of stock. (AF) Read the full article

Yuga Labs, creators of Bored Ape Yacht Club Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), has sued artist Ryder Ripps and several associates, accusing them of producing and selling “copycat NFTs” that devalue the originals, according to its Twitter feed and that of the Bored Ape Gazette, which tweeted a lawsuit filing with inserted illustrations. The lawsuit claims that the artist sought to “devalue the Bored Ape NFTs by flooding the NFT market with his own copycat NFT collection using the original Bored Ape Yacht Club images and calling them “RR/BAYC” NFTs.” The suit points out that Bored Ape NFTs “often resell for hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars, and prominent celebrities are proud holders of Bored Ape NFTs,” adding that only 10,000 Bored Ape NFTs exist and that each is unique. Yuga Labs seeks a judgement restraining Ripps and associates from “engaging in further interference with its prospective economic relations,” as well as damages and attorneys’ fees. An email seeking comment on the lawsuit from Ripps was sent to an address on his website, but no response had been received by time of publication. Ripps said earlier this year on Twitter that he had been “researching and posting about BAYC Nazi ties.” The Bored Ape founders pushed back against these allegations in a blog post on Friday. A representative from Yuga Labs' public relations firm, Strange Brew Strategies, said later on Saturday via email that RR/BAYC NFTs had been removed from the OpenSea NFT marketplace. A look at the page showed that several images had been labeled "possibly fake." The Yuga Labs lawsuit was filed on Friday in US District Court of Central California by law firm Fenwick & West, and a 43-page document was tweeted early today by the Bored Ape Gazette. ————————————————————————- Like| Comment| Follow| share Are you into CRYPTO | NFT | WEB 3 TECH? BBC News | MIDDLE EAST | Saudi police 'stopped' fire rescue

Saudi police 'stopped' fire rescue
The Mecca city governor visited the fire-damaged school
Saudi Arabia's religious police stopped schoolgirls from leaving a blazing building because they were not wearing correct Islamic dress, according to Saudi newspapers.
In a rare criticism of the kingdom's powerful "mutaween" police, the Saudi media has accused them of hindering attempts to save 15 girls who died in the fire on Monday.
About 800 pupils were inside the school in the holy city of Mecca when the tragedy occurred.
15 girls died in the blaze and more than 50 others were injured
According to the al-Eqtisadiah daily, firemen confronted police after they tried to keep the girls inside because they were not wearing the headscarves and abayas (black robes) required by the kingdom's strict interpretation of Islam.
One witness said he saw three policemen "beating young girls to prevent them from leaving the school because they were not wearing the abaya".
The Saudi Gazette quoted witnesses as saying that the police - known as the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice - had stopped men who tried to help the girls and warned "it is a sinful to approach them".
The father of one of the dead girls said that the school watchman even refused to open the gates to let the girls out.
"Lives could have been saved had they not been stopped by members of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice," the newspaper concluded.
Relatives' anger
Families of the victims have been incensed over the deaths.
Most of the victims were crushed in a stampede as they tried to flee the blaze.
The school was locked at the time of the fire - a usual practice to ensure full segregation of the sexes.
The religious police are widely feared in Saudi Arabia. They roam the streets enforcing dress codes and sex segregation, and ensuring prayers are performed on time.
Those who refuse to obey their orders are often beaten and sometimes put in jail.

Trudeau says legislation on municipal handgun bans coming
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau defended his assault-rifle ban on Sunday and promised to go even further by targeting handguns and tightening border security with new legislation introduced in the Parliament.
Yet he stopped short of providing a timeline for when such measures would be introduced, saying only that the federal Liberal government would move forward with legislation "when Parliament allows."
The comments came during the prime minister's daily COVID-19 news conference after the government on Friday outlawed a wide range of assault-style weapons. The ban did not require parliamentary approval and was instead published in regulations in the Canada Gazette.
Some have said the ban doesn't go far enough and should include handguns while others have argued that it targets legal gun owners and that Ottawa should instead focus on the smuggling of illegal weapons at the border and stronger jail sentences.
Trudeau acknowledged his government has more work to do when it comes to guns in Canada, which was why it was working on legislation that will deal with the border, gun storage and handguns.
Exactly when will that legislation be introduced, however, appears to be anyone's guess.
"We know there is more to do on strengthening gun control in this country which is why we're going to be moving forward when Parliament allows it with stronger measures around borders, stronger measures around safe storage," Trudeau said.
"Measures around handguns to permit municipalities to ban handguns within their city limits."
Legislation will also need to be introduced around a two-year amnesty and a buyback program that will allow the current owners of assault rifles covered by Friday's ban to receive compensation for turning in the designated firearms or keep them through a grandfathering process.
The Liberal government will move forward on that front "at the first opportunity when the House turns its attention to things other than" COVID-19, Trudeau said.
The House of Commons has limited its sitting to one in-person and two virtual per week due to the pandemic.
The assault-rifle ban came only weeks after one of the deadliest mass shootings in Canadian history, when a man dressed as an RCMP officer killed 22 people in Nova Scotia on April 18 and 19. Police have indicated the man had two rifles and several handguns on his possession at the time.
Some have accused the prime minister of using the tragedy to instigate a ban while Parliament is largely consumed with the COVID-19 pandemic, while others have questioned why the government waited so long.
The Liberals promised in the last election campaign to ban assault rifles and introduce legislation allowing cities to ban handguns.
Trudeau refused to apologize for the ban after Ontario Premier Doug Ford on Saturday said it targeted legal gun owners. He suggested Ottawa should instead focus on smuggling of illegal weapons at the border and strengthening jail sentences for gun crimes.
"We've seen far too many mass shootings in which military-style-assault weapons were used to kill innocent Canadians. In Sainte-Foy. Recently in Nova Scotia. Back at l'Ecole Polytechnique 30 years ago," Trudeau said.
"We've seen far too many cases in which these guns have caused devastation to families and communities. That's why it was time to ban them. This is something that we were able to do through regulations so it didn't require legislation."

Tim and his Funky Protective Gloopy Parasite AU
I will most likely never get around to officially writing this, but I’ve had it saved since December and wanted to post it... I basically rewrote the entire Venom movie to fit JayTim, okies, so spoilers if you haven’t seen it yet. Also I borrowed a lot of the dialouge too.
Tim works as an investigator for Vicky Vale. She wants him to hack some shit to find out if there’s an affair going on between Harleen Quinzel and Pamela Isley. Or take photos. He can totally do a photojournalist type thing. Or both.
Tim’s long term girlfriend Steph is an intern at Neo Eden. Tim uses her employee login to hack into the system and look at Pamela’s emails— he finds reports about using humans as test subjects for alien parasite hosts to save the environment and stop global warming. The next day, he writes a report, bypasses it through the editors and posts it on the Gotham Gazette website. Vicky calls him in, fires him.
Tim: But this is real! Something finally important! People are dying! Vicky: We’re a gossip paper, Tim, not the Daily Planet. Isley has the money to sue us, you’re lucky she hasn’t shut us down completely.
Tim is all huffy, whatever, it’s fine. He only did it as a hobby/part time job, he has his whole Drake inheritance.
Steph has his stuff out on the sidewalk when he gets back to their place. She’s fucking livid. And tries knocking him in the face with a brick.
Steph: You couldn’t be fucking chill for, like, five minutes? Tim: She’s killing people with aliens on some Save-The-Planet agenda. Steph: That was my internship! I was lining up a job there! I got fired because of you. Tim: Do you really want to work at a place that’s experimenting with aliens though?
She breaks up with him. His face is on the cover of the Gazette, fresh off the press. “Drake Heir Posts False Rumors Attacking Pamela Isley.”
Tim: So that’s how Vickey got out of a lawsuit.
Tim’s just not in the mood for anything, depressed and all that, so he dedicates himself to living an Aesthetic Mood by buying some shitty apartment in the Bowery. It sucks but he gets a small routine. Friends with the late night shift at Batburger. His neighbors suck.
Eventually someone from Neo Eden approaches him. The dude is named Dick Grayson, he’s an undercover cop that’s been working at Neo Eden as a security guard to investigate the shady shit going on ever since Tim’s article was published. He asks Tim for help. Tim says no.
Tim goes across the city to the Burnley District to see Steph. He meets Cass, who graduated from Gotham University as a med student and now works at Gotham General Hospital. He’s really bummed and decides to call Dick back.
Dick brings him in at night to see the facility. Tim takes photos and then sees one of the poor dudes from Batburger is a test subject. He tries to help the dude out but it backfires (as things in Tim’s life tend to do) and the dude attacks Tim and that’s when Venom is transferred.
Tim and Dick sneak back out (because Dick’s not dying), and Dick drops him off at his shitty place in the Bowery.
Tim: So, are you going to get fired from GCPD?
Dick’s really vague but says he’ll be okay, his boss can sort it out (meaning Bruce.)
All the weird stuff starts happening to him. Crazy appetite. A fever. Venom starts speaking to him, just single words like, hungry and food.
Deliriously, Tim goes out and finds Steph grocery shopping with Cass. He is a little rabid and is raiding the frozen food section, Venom pointing things out, and Steph is really embarrassed. It reaches extreme levels when they pass the seafood section and Tim plops into the lobster tank.
They take Tim to Gotham General. Cass tries to do an MRI test but of course he spazzes because the loud noise hurts Venom. Tim claims he’s fine and leaves.
Back at his shitty apartment, he eats a bunch of garbage and pukes. Venom starts talking to him. (Diverging from the film for this next bit) Tim is kind of just like “fuck this,” and sits down to watch some mindless tv and hopefully nap. Venom introduces himself as Venom.
Tim: What the hell are you? Venom: I am Venom. Tim: You can’t just call yourself Venom. Every superhero or supervillain needs a civilian identity. Just because you’re some alien parasite doesn’t make you special. Venom: I’m not a parasite. Tim: Oh look, Friday the 13th is on. Awesome, I’ve never actually seen the entire thing, so be quiet.
Eventually Tim has an epiphany.
Tim: I’ll call you Jason!
Tim’s neighbor plays obnoxiously loud music and Jason freaks and Tim stomps over there to tell him to be quiet. The dude says no. Jason pulls his little freaky face thing and growls at the dude. The dude agrees to turn it down.
Eventually, Ivy finds him. (Looked at the security camera footage, got a photo of his face, tracked him down, etc.) A bunch of mercs come to attack him.
Jason: Don’t open the door.
Tim’s an idiot so he opens the door.
Tim and Jason argue over putting their hands up or down. Jason wins and attacks the mercs.
Jason: Outstanding! Now, let’s bite off all their heads; heads in one pile, bodies in another. Tim, exasperated: Why would we do that?
They leave the apartment, Tim catches his reflection in the window of a car. Jason scares him.
Jason: I can replace you. I can find another host, you’re just a replacement for my last one. Tim: Listen, if you don’t like me you can just leave, okay?
Mercs and drones show up so they go on a crazy motorcycle chase which includes Jason saving Tim from dying, like, twelve times.
They end up at a secluded warehouse, Tim is fully healed.
Jason: You’re mine, Timmy. Cooperate and you just might survive. Tim: Are you going to… you going to eat anybody else? Jason: Most likely. Tim: Ugh, God.
They go back to the Gotham Gazette office but security stops Tim from getting in.
Tim: If we go back to the apartment I can hack the security and we can come back and sneak in. Jason: Where’s the office? Tim: 22nd floor. Jason: Up? Tim: Yeah.
Jason takes that as permission (and it was NOT) to crawl up the side of the building. Tim is mildly panicking. They end up at the top of the building.
Jason: It’s almost peaceful up here. Tim: I’m not a fan of heights. Jason: Your world is not so ugly after all. I’m almost sorry to see it end. Tim: Don’t drop me, I swear to freaking god, you will never get tater tots again— wait, what the heck does that mean?!
Cue the airplane. Jason starts freaking out because of the noise, so he withdraws and then Tim starts falling.
Tim: Where’d you go? Jay, where’d you go? Jay—
Jason grips on to the building.
Jason: I got us.
Tim leaves the photos of Ivy’s lab that he took on his phone on Vicky's desk.
Jason: Jump. Tim, walking to the elevator: Nope. Jason: Pussy.
Mercs are waiting downstairs for them.
Tim: Guys, you don’t want to do this, trust me. Mercs: Masks! Copy! Tim: Okay, okay, have it your way… Mask! Jason: Copy.
Steph finds them after the fight. She drives Tim back to Gotham General to do more tests. Jason tells Tim to man up and apologize to her.
At the hospital, Cass looks at test results and says Tim has a parasite. Jason gets angry about being called a parasite. Cass explains that Jason is basically draining Tim in order to live. Tim feels really betrayed and leaves.
Tim gets captured by Ivy. Once it’s clear that he no longer has Venom she wants him dead. The Mercs take him out to the middle of an abandoned warehouse to kill him. Jason saves the day. Jason kisses Tim as Steph, and during the kiss morphs back into Tim.
Tim and Jason head off to find Isley.
Jason: Riot’s got shit you won’t believe. Tim: What are our chances? Jason: Basically zero. Tim: Alright, fuck it, let’s go save the world.
There’s a big fight. (Need to think about the rocket situation because I don’t want Ivy to die.) Riot tries to rip Venom from Tim. Tim reaches out and in a moment of pure gay love, Jason reaches out too, Tim’s fingertips brush Jason and they fuse together. There’s more fighting.
Steph cranks up a speaker and the noise makes Ivy and Tim separate from their symbiotes. Ivy goes to grab Riot but Tim pushes her away. Tim turns around and is impaled by Riot. Riot grabs Ivy and they go to board the rocket. Jason latches onto Tim, heals him, then they climb the rocket. Jason cuts through the fuel line and the rocket explodes. The fire hits Jason and Tim, so Jason detaches and allows Tim to live. Tim falls into the bay.
Later, Tim is back chilling with Steph. They’re friends now. Jason is interrupting the conversation and Steph is suspicious that something is going on. Tim claims it’s nothing and leaves.
Jason and Tim walk around together. Tim tries laying down some ground rules. Mainly that they can only eat bad people.
At the empty Batburger at night, a thug tries to rob the cashier at gunpoint. Jason asks if that’s a bad guy and Tim says yes.
Jason: We will eat both your arms, and then both of your legs, and then we will eat your face right off of your head. You will be this armless, legless, faceless thing, won't you, going down the street like a turd in the wind. Thug: What the hell are you? Tim and Jason smile: We are Venom.
The cashier is like, “Okay am I tripping on too much acid, or…?”
Tim: Oh… I have a parasite. Yeah. See you later, dude.” Jason: PaRaSiTe!? Tim: Symbiote is too complicated for the average Gotham citizen to understand. Jason: Well, you’re just a depressed hermit. Tim: Take that back!
They continue walking.
Tim: So… what do you want to do now? Jason: The way I see it, we can do whatever we want.
