“There was a great Sufi teacher in India who had a thousand adherents who were most devoted pupils. One day he said to them, "I have changed my mind." And the words "changed my mind" surprised them greatly; they asked him, "What is the matter, how can it be that you have changed your mind?" He said, "I have the feeling that I must go and bow before the Goddess Kali." And these people, among whom were doctors and professors, well qualified people, could not understand this whim, that their great teacher in whom they had such faith, wished to go into the temple of Kali and bow before the Goddess of the hideous face, he, a God-realized man in whom they had such confidence! And the thousand disciples left him at once, thinking "What is this? It is against the religion of the formless God, against the teaching of this great Sufi himself, that he wants to worship the Goddess Kali!"
And there remained only one pupil, a youth who was very devoted to his teacher, and he followed him when he went to the temple of Kali. The teacher was very glad to get rid of these thousand pupils, who were full of knowledge, full of their learning, but who did not really know him; it was just as well that they should leave. And as they were going towards the temple, he spoke three times to this young man, saying "Why do you not go away? Look at these thousand people, who had such faith and such admiration, and now I have said just one word, and they have left me. Why do you not go with them? The majority is right." The pupil, however, would not go, but continued to follow him. And through all this the teacher received great inspiration and a revelation of how strange human nature is, how soon people are attracted and how soon they can fly away. It was such an interesting phenomenon for him to see the play of human nature that his heart was full of feeling, and when they arrived at the temple of Kali he experienced such ecstasy that he fell down and bowed his head low. And the young man who had followed him did the same.
When he got up he asked this young man again, "Why do you not leave me when you have seen a thousand people go away? Why do you follow me?" The young man answered, "There is nothing in what you have done that is against my convictions, because the first lesson you have taught me was that nothing exists save God. If that is true, then that image is not Kali; it too is God. What does it matter whether you bow to the East or to the West or to the earth or to heaven? Since nothing exists except God, there is nobody else except God before whom to bow, even in bowing before Kali. It was the first lesson you taught me." All these learned men were given the same lesson, they were students and very clever, but they could not conceive of that main thought which was the center of all the teaching. It was this same young man who later became the greatest Sufi teacher in India, Khwaja Moin-ud-Din Chishti. Every year thousands of people of all religions make pilgrimages to his tomb at Ajmer, Hindus, Mohammedans, Jews, and Christians. To the Sufi all religions are one.”

Disciples
Pictured above left to right: Zepar, he's the head chef. Gemma, she's lead disciple. Hano, he's the head of arts and crafts, plus sin.
Any god needs faith, but the devotion of a common follower pales in comparison to that of a dedicated disciple. In the world of Luck of the Lamb, disciples are a select handful of the many hundreds of people of the cult, numbering roughly around a dozen. The path to becoming a disciple is long and rigorous. A follower must first dedicate a serious amount of time to studying. Their initiation test will involve being heavily questioned on divine history, arts, fluency in the demonic language, and many more topics that the average follower will not be normally educated on. While school is provided for every member, the topics are simple and only begin to brush against the large degree required to pass discipleship initiation. Additionally, a follower making their attempt will need to prove their loyalty and devotion for many months or years prior, regularly attending sermons and participating in the more basic rituals to build their rapport. Some followers try for decades to become a disciple, and for many it never becomes more than a idle fantasy. If the follower passes their initial exam, they will be dubbed an initiate and taken into the fold. Disciples do not typically mingle with the outside followers, living inside an exclusive section of the temple only accessible to disciples. The initiate will be given a necklace of proven loyalty, but they are far from receiving their halo. For five years they remain on probation, never leaving the protected inner area as they slowly adjust to their new life. A disciple gives themselves fully to their faith, expected to abandon their possessions, family, and more. They are expected to follow any order, perform any task, and do it all with a smile on their face knowing its for the good of the cult. What happens beyond this point is known only to those who pass it, and there is no return. If one fails their initiation, either by attempting to leave or failing to integrate properly, they are never heard from again.
At the end of their probation, an initiate is tasked with the final test of their unwavering loyalty. They must place their head on the chopping block, passing into divinity like the Lamb they worship did as well. Resurrection is only used in this exact situation, so the initiate has no way of knowing what will truly happen, but they must go in without hesitation to prove they trust fully in the divine. They must be willing to die without question. Only after a new scar decorates their neck upon their revival do they earn their halo and become a true disciple.
Many followers have an idealized concept of what a disciple does. Many see the mysterious lifestyle, living so close to the fabled Lamb, and can only dream. The reality is much more intense. Disciples follow a strict schedule of daily chores and prayer. Initiates are often tasked with preparing meals, cleaning, and other rudimentary tasks. Disciples themselves have many duties, ranging from delivering sermons and minor blessings to the wider flock and producing art in glory of the Lamb and Death.
But of the duties, one of the most important was rituals. The average follower has very little to do with complex rituals, which for the vast majority of the flock have been adjusted to seasonal festivals more approachable to the uninitiated. However, beyond the locked doors of the temple complex, disciples still perform the horrifying and intense rituals that the faith demands. Deep in the temple, dissident prisoners are sacrificed, lust flows freely, and true power is wrought. Their necklaces, given to them upon becoming a disciple, allow them to tap into the devotion of the flock and become a conduit for it. While normally they then pass it on to their gods, they may use some to use curses if needed.

The Gospels: A Blueprint for Transformation – Bridging Faith, Psychology, and Symbolism
The Gospels are the cornerstone of the Christian faith, chronicling the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. They have been read and interpreted in countless ways—some see them as strict historical accounts, while others view them as allegories for a deeper spiritual reality.
But what if the Gospels function as both—as real historical events and as a symbolic map for inner transformation? What if they offer not just theological doctrines, but a practical framework for personal responsibility, psychological growth, and spiritual awakening?
By combining the perspectives of biblical literalism, Jungian psychology, and esoteric wisdom, we can uncover a richer understanding of the Gospels—one that speaks to both traditional believers and those seeking deeper personal meaning.
I. The Gospels as More Than Just a Biography
For many, the Gospels are read primarily as a historical record of Jesus' life and ministry—a factual account of events leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection. While this perspective holds great significance, it often limits the depth of Jesus' teachings by reducing them to mere history.
However, throughout scripture, Jesus taught in parables, revealing spiritual truths through stories that operated on multiple levels.
“Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables.” (Mark 4:11)
This tells us something important: Jesus intended His teachings to be understood symbolically as well as literally.
By integrating psychological insights and archetypal symbolism with biblical faith, we unlock a deeper dimension of the Gospels—one that speaks directly to our struggles with meaning, suffering, responsibility, and transformation.
II. Jesus as the Archetype of the Ideal Man
Literal Interpretation:
Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, who came to fulfill prophecy and offer salvation through His sacrifice.
Psychological Interpretation:
Jesus represents the highest ideal of human existence—the one who willingly takes on suffering and responsibility, transforming chaos into order.
His journey is the model for every individual:
He faces temptation in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11) We all battle our lower nature.
He challenges corruption and hypocrisy (Matthew 23) We are called to stand for truth.
He carries His cross to Calvary (Luke 23:26) We each have burdens we must bear.
He dies and is resurrected → We all must undergo psychological and spiritual renewal.
Esoteric Interpretation (Hall’s View):
Jesus represents the divine spark within humanity—the Christ-consciousness that must be awakened within each of us.
His journey mirrors the ancient path of initiation, where the soul transcends material bondage and attains divine wisdom.
All of these perspectives can coexist. Jesus’ life is both historical and symbolic, providing a model for both salvation and self-transformation.
III. The Teachings of Jesus: Responsibility, Transformation, and Inner Growth
Jesus’ teachings contain layers of wisdom that apply to every level of human experience.
1. “Take Up Your Cross” – The Burden of Responsibility
“If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)
Literal Interpretation:
A call to discipleship and faithfulness in following Christ.
Psychological Interpretation:
Jesus teaches personal responsibility—we must voluntarily accept the suffering and burdens of life.
By taking up our “cross,” we confront our deepest struggles rather than avoiding them.
Esoteric Interpretation:
The cross represents the unification of spirit and matter—our journey from the earthly to the divine.
"Dying to self" is not just about rejecting sin, but about transcending the ego to awaken to higher consciousness.
2. The Kingdom of God is Within You
“The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21)
Literal Interpretation:
Jesus refers to the spiritual reign of God in the hearts of believers.
Psychological Interpretation:
The “Kingdom of God” is not just an external place but a state of being—one of order, peace, and transformation.
Each person is responsible for cultivating this kingdom within their own mind and actions.
Esoteric Interpretation:
The kingdom is a hidden spiritual reality—a deeper awareness of divine truth that must be awakened within.
Just as Jesus was the "light of the world," so too must we awaken the divine light within us.
3. The Sermon on the Mount – The Path to Spiritual Maturity
In Matthew 5-7, Jesus lays out a vision of how to live in harmony with God and others.
Literal Interpretation: These are commandments for believers to follow.
Psychological Interpretation: These are guidelines for structuring personal and societal order—teaching resilience, humility, and self-mastery.
Esoteric Interpretation: The Beatitudes outline the soul’s ascension, moving from meekness (humility) to purity (transcendence) to divine sonship (enlightenment).
Each level of understanding deepens the power of Jesus’ teachings without contradicting their core truth.
IV. The Crucifixion and Resurrection: The Death of the Old and the Birth of the New
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” (Romans 6:4)
Literal Interpretation:
Jesus died as a substitutionary sacrifice for sin and was physically resurrected, proving His divinity.
Psychological Interpretation:
The crucifixion represents the necessary death of the ego—we must confront and transcend our own pride, selfishness, and illusions.
The resurrection is rebirth into a higher way of living—we become new creatures by following the model of Christ.
Esoteric Interpretation:
The cross is a universal symbol of transformation—uniting heaven and earth, spirit and matter.
The resurrection is not just a future event, but a present reality—we must awaken to divine life now.
V. Why This Perspective Matters for Faith and Growth
For literalists, this approach strengthens belief—showing how scripture applies to daily life and human transformation.
For thinkers drawn to psychology, it provides practical wisdom—offering timeless strategies for handling suffering, responsibility, and meaning.
For mystics and seekers, it reveals hidden depths—showing how Jesus’ life mirrors the great initiatory path of enlightenment.
What This Means for Us Today
Faith is not just about belief—it is about transformation.
Christ’s story is our story—we must walk the same path of self-denial, responsibility, and renewal.
The Bible speaks at multiple levels—we can embrace both its literal truth and its deeper symbolic wisdom.
By combining biblical faith, psychological insight, and esoteric symbolism, we see the Gospels not just as a record of the past, but as a living map for our present and future.
VI. Following the Map Christ Gave Us
Jesus said:
> “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
This means more than just belief—it is an invitation to transformation.
The literal believer follows Christ by faith and obedience.
The psychological seeker follows Christ by embracing responsibility and meaning.
The esoteric student follows Christ by awakening the divine within.
All three paths lead to the same truth. The question is:
Which path will you walk?

Third Month ...
Sometimes, in the quiet solitude of the day, I stay in our chapel in the convent, contemplating the path that has led me to this moment. In just a month, I will take a solemn vow, committing myself fully to a life of greater perfection through intense contemplation, community living, and ascetic practices as a professed religious.
This is not anymore the same discernment back then in CaReS-Baguio. My journey towards this moment has been, I believe, one marked by deep reflection, prayer, and discernment. From the earliest thoughts of a calling to religious life to the rigorous formation process, each step has brought me closer to this essential decision. And now, as the month of my solemn profession draws near, hopefully soon to be a deacon, I find myself immersed in a profound sense of anticipation and reverence.
Central to my preparation for this sacred commitment has been the experience of the sacraments. Going back to my Catechesis class, through baptism, I was initiated into the family of God, marking the beginning of my journey of faith. Confirmation strengthened me with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, empowering me to embrace the challenges and joys of religious life. And the Eucharist, the source and summit of our Christian life, has nourished me with the body and blood of Christ, sustaining me on this journey of discipleship.
And now, as I reflect on the significance of these sacramental encounters, I am reminded of their transformative power in shaping my spiritual journey. They have truly served as moments of encounter with the Divine, with the Lord, deepening my relationship with God and reinforcing my commitment to a life of prayer and service.
But it is not just the sacraments that have prepared me for this moment; it is also the charism of my religious community. Rooted in the desire for greater perfection through contemplative prayer and ascetic practices, the charism of my community resonates deeply within my soul, and within my heart. It is a call to embrace the simplicity of life, to seek God in the silence of prayer, and to live in communion with my brothers in Christ.
In the coming weeks, as I make final preparations for my solemn profession, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude. Gratitude for the grace of God that has guided me thus far, gratitude for the support and encouragement of my religious community, and gratitude for the privilege of being called to serve God in this special way—Recoletos way of life.
As I look towards the future, I do so with faith and confidence, trusting in God’s providence to lead me where I am called to be. And as I prepare to take my solemn vow, I do so with a heart full of hope, knowing that I am embarking on a journey of profound spiritual significance—a journey that will shape and define the rest of my life.

Daily Walk Devotional Day 2
Minister The Pete, ThePete77, ThePete81, cpeteland, and cpeteland@gmail.
Preaching of the King
“Matthew's gospel alternates between Jesus’ deeds and discourses.”
A note that I have already made in personal views of the gospels of any type and basically any spiritual text in existence is that they are written after the fact as records, and treating documents like they are actual concurrently being written as a record during their times in history is false. Without the recognition of cultural practice and origins of prior existing cultures and faiths pretty much all spiritual title are constipated rubbish.
We cannot ignore the cultural plateau of spiritual deities of major likeness and obvious influences like the Greek deity Adonis and relation to the name Adonai on very advanced levels, and that people have theorized sociobiological models of nomadic eras of clans and tribes to agricultural and domestic societal functions and that their were agricultural deities such as Adonis, Dionysus, and Bacchus.
I feel heavily that the Christian practice of communion is very heavily related to the dynosian mysteries because of wine use, and the scriptures themselves were never originally intended as a literal testimonial witness to events that occurred.
In mentions of the Pharisees being a measure of greatness in spiritual practices, within the scope of scripture they are presented this way, yet their has not been any ancient manuscripts discovered or attributed to them. This brings in a scope of the scriptures being relevant to abrahamic and mosaic laws and a very Hebraic culture of Israel during that time.
The severe claim within a Hebraic and Arabic culture that nobody else except the scribes and Pharisees will enter the kingdom of heaven I find to be an exclusive statement that secludes entry to specific practices which I feel Christian’s have misrepresented and taken advantage of in several ways. Certain statements about Ghandi being required to believe in Jesus’ name I find as entirely obnoxious and ignorant. I also find the continuing thoughts of apathetic lukewarm Christian activity of each to their own and whatever works for them entirely an indictment for spiritual laziness.
The devotion mentions insights into the Christian practice of letting their light so shine before the world, and to appropriately in moderation and discretion apply exemplary behavior of representing their spiritual beliefs. I’ve seen a tremendous failure of church startup focuses and missionary work to lack discipleship and mentoring.
It is redundant for me to state this, but I feel it necessary to further define my scope of disagreement with Christian proselytizing, acting like their cosmology is the way of the existing universe, and the only way, and all other ways are false: Christians themselves do not own heaven or the universe even if they worship the god creator that created the universe and heavens. Everyone dies in some way, either for a lack of continuing existence or for transformation or reincarnation focuses. Death does come to us all.
The devotion continues to state about having the right intentions of good works, and not be seen doing them and in a devil worshipper sense I feel the applicable nature of technically functionable processes that have value for adherence and use, and not in wasteful lazy ways.
The day two of proverbs focus’ on the statement if you receive my words. I always had some level of admiration about the word logos as the divine word. In christinzation logos is applied as a title of Christ as the living word. Similar spiritual views about yoke and yielding fruit I have also been in admiration, even within Christian terms. This view initially made me feel more animate as a human being and having some depth of character and being amiable and plyable to gods will and for him to direct my path. There were some strong feelings and sentiments of anxiety and ignorance in this regard that overshadowed my adherence and lack of knowledge of who god really was and whether he can be even trusted. Scriptures at the end of the book of numbers I was in disagreement on personal levels of applying handshakes of peaceful agreement following with raiding, plundering and slaughtering entire nearby countries, taking wives and children as slaves in someways and entire destruction in other ways. The character of god revealed in those circumstances I could not honorably agree to for those instructions. I could not agree with Christian arguments of foreknowledge and predestination of god, like the infinite creator applied tests for mankind and especially in regards to job, accepted challenges from the adversary and accuser about job and unleashing pain and death and misery all around job and on jobs family. I see this as a totally underhanded move in betrayal of job. Likewise the sacrificial event of Cain and Abel and punishment on Cain simply for acceptance of a sacrificial type even and tempting Abraham to sacrifice Isaac and the allowable theft of Isaac’s inheritance by Jacob and Jacob being the continuing lineage of Israel. This I feel makes the entire lineage of Jesus’ even invalid in character and not having any authority at all.
Continuing through this chapter of proverbs as to being protected by the Lord I feel inclined more towards a view of who god really is in retrospective use of the Al Jilwah as Satan guides his chosen and exercises dominion over the beasts of the earth. Since applying a focus of studies on witchcraft in a continual way and the circumstances that my life has been in for sacrificial offerings and evocation of king Paimon, my life has radically changed in that manner in unsuspecting ways.
Paimon is truly loyal in his accomplishments and residence within my life activity and my 2012-2013 ritual focus of Paimon evocation has come to effect as a better position.
In my gospel of John devotion for the second day I am more inclined towards personal strength and confidence in choosing my own path, for better or worse, and I cannot really agree with taking verbal directional commands from any deity, as well and especially Jesus. I had practiced in Christian connotations the matter of conviction of things that I felt necessary at the time. A big conflict that I went through was a conviction of sacrificial existence and celibacy due to the modern book of revelation statements of martyrs for the Christian faith, and a sense of abstinence from relationships which heavily lead me into conflicting emotions even during beginning studies of witchcraft. Reading the enochian calls brought a remembrance of this conviction I had, in a way of a law governing the holy ones, and continuous complaining and whining and disagreeing and making excuses as to why I deserve relationships.
I’ve grown into a great sense of maturity since and in practical matters of employment at a partial daycare I realized my low energy levels and lack of parenting knowledge in how to raise children at all, and decided against having children for those reasons.
This collaborates more with my current views of adult entertainment in pornography and night life attitude as being singular events and moderate continuing social circumstances without vows of permanent commitment in expectations.
In my Spurgeon devotional for March 9th he writes of being close to Jesus on a continuing basis in communion with him, and in the manner of the Old Testament and the New Testament seldom and sporadic character revealing of Jesus I cannot really agree, and I cannot agree with insane practices of hearing the voices or activity even of demons, in this way I have made specific note to mandate normalcy to be in personal demand on all counts, and the right views of spiritual items even in relation to witchcraft.
In my chuck smith devotional for march 9tth, i read several aspects of god answering chuck smith in his prayer requests, and felt heavily before that god was non respondent to mine. I felt very much akin to how Cain probably felt with refusal and suspicion of failure in great amounts and lack of knowledge and age to be able to be active in any significant way. I became opposite the alcoholics and narcotics anonymous individuals about their war stories of drug use and criminal activity and prison time experiences,, relationship drama and multiple experiences with multiple wives as somehow a need for me to attend to to gain life knowledge:
I was not interested in prison for a single or double digit year focus, and continuing brother up mentality and follow suit like a sheep in standard juvenile delinquency. This has always disinterested me in great proportions. As I reflect on my current residence and life conditions I am grateful that legal circumstances have been kept minimal.
In my final devotional of psalm 139, I cannot say I’ve been calling as a friend to Jesus in presence, and the beginning decisions that started to take place was simply listening to modern rap music with explicit lyrics. Simply out of modern views that entirely Christian views of common media social habits is a little weird, and their should be more normalcy. The first response from a person who could’ve been a mentor type of person, was racist in nature and I cut my attendance to studies and church functions. Things happened from their that I set myself up for failure about. The last scripture quote in this passage focuses on the statement that the heart is beyond care and the most deceitful above all things, which I am in refutation of as a declaration that evidences judeo Christian spiritual views make them inhuman.
To balance my devotion with Satanically Set content in the book Satanic Living by Lucifer Jeremy White, I read about the requirements to do over and speecialize in 1 up. Other quotes I’ve heard similarly in motivational speaking that in order to have success you have to become uncomfortable in everything you do and do a lot of it and mass levels.
LJW, makes the statement that strength is rewarded by pride, and on a personal level of low maintenance and survival status poverty, I realize that I have really not connected this way and did not have the mental or emotional discipline to even have two part time jobs or push a full time existence in the truest nature of an 8-9 job focus. My physical activity currently is very minimal and I’m even struggling on basic tasks. Reality bites, and the truth hurts. The challenge of the Satanic Prince is to earn a place amongst the satanic extemporary through merit… if I intend to have a reputation as a devil worshipper and practitioner of the dark arts I really need to act it and live the principles to gain support of and the presence of likeminded darksome souls.
Some become homeless in desperation…. I see this to be an evidential history in my life. After losing jobs for whatever reason I’d turn homeless and wind up at the homeless shelter which I had a lethal beginning mistake of leisure and comfort in having a roof over my head and food in my stomach. I crippled myself from challenging my education or career improvements to technically apply valid and meaningful applications, and falsely assumed I had some will to power focuses that I thought at least some potential for reading nietzsche and schopenhauer and knowing the name Richard Wagner. Daydreaming circumstances and fantasies had established themselves in the fact that I was much of an oddball and awkward at the most and unable to connect the way I needed to.
But the past is the past and I am only declaring this to be honest about what level I am truly at as an applied devil worshiper.
The true satanic prince thoroughly enjoys life… I have this at a basic level on a permanent basis since I learned the satanic motto of vital existence. I utterly enjoy hearing and seeing, touching, smelling and tasting. I felt in my teen years a sense of physical strength and health and a basic premise of not having really any problems with what I was about.
Confidence diminished and anxiety increased with all the depressive factors attached, and I was very ignorant towards the creeping pestilence of Christian thought, opening me to weakness even further. And now I am in a congruent state of recognition and in reform myself to live the very principles that I teach.
The words resilience, adaptability, and bravery are words that strike me in this regard, in all essence of survival and lethality genes, I am pretty much void of, and am practicing a continual focus.
He is a she in regards to Satan mentioned in this book I am focusing on applying more to Hecate, Lilith, and Kali, as them to provide the succubus activity and sexual gratification on inner levels, and the admiration of the beauty and strength of Morrigan, Demeter, Persephone, Artimis, Ishtar, Diana, and Hera. For main leading terms of Satan I am applying the opposer and accuser, the tempter and as a trickster, his counterpart male deities being Hephaestus, Thanatos, Hypnos, Psoidon, Leviathan, Taurus, and Aries, Jupiter, Appollo, and Prometheus.
Do the devils work is a statement that I am finalizing this article with in intent to accomplish it on all counts. In seeking knowledge and wisdom and eternal life in true nature.

The Path of Discipleship
Today, in our Gospel lesson, we hear five Heaven-is-like parables. Heaven is like a mustard seed. Heaven is like yeast. Heaven is like buried treasure. Heaven is like a pearl, and Heaven is like a net full of fish. And if we follow the progression, one parable to the next, we can witness what happens to those who find the treasure, decide to follow Jesus, and then go through the transformation that following Jesus initiates.
The first two, the parables of the mustard seed and yeast, tell of the remarkable growth of Heaven, from a tiny mustard seed and a hidden ingredient in bread to a tree sheltering the birds and that within bread capable of expanding itself throughout the entirety of the loaf.
These two parables offer hope, hope to hope-starved people. They offer an invitation to those who have yet to commit themselves to Jesus and His Way. They are feel-good parables for all who want to believe that their enslavement to Roman rule (and the ways of the world) will one day end and that God’s Heaven will one day prevail.
They contain no demands, no instruction, on what one must do to have this heaven, what the life of one who follows the Way of Christ looks like. Jesus describes what His Way looks like solely to his disciples in the three remaining parables, only to those who have taken the first step of coming to Jesus for more than hope, those who have come to Jesus to participate with Him in the Way.
So how is this Way, this path of discipleship, disclosed in the remaining parables?
Some folks come upon the Way of Jesus in a seemingly random fashion. They aren’t looking for anything, but they stumble upon a treasure they never knew existed. They bury it in the field where they found it, then go and sell all they have in order to buy that field.
Some folks are in the market for what Jesus is selling, having bought other pearls throughout their lives, but when they experience Jesus’s pearl, they realize all else has been unimportant. They too sell all they have to buy that treasure, that one pearl.
The point? Both, in their joy of discovery, sell everything they have. They are ALL IN for Christ and Christ’s vision of heaven. They are mindful of one, single, ultimate concern and have abandoned all else to follow it. Both, those who find the treasure by happenstance, (perhaps, Gentiles) and those who have been searching for it their whole lives (perhaps, Jews) are welcomed as disciples, and inheritors of heaven.
This takes us then to the final parable in today’s reading, the parable that likens Heaven to a net full of fish. It sounds familiar, doesn’t it? It sounds a lot like the Parable of the Weeds we heard last Sunday, the parable where the Devil sowed weeds among the good seeds. And like that parable, today’s has the angels at the end of the age separating the good parts from the bad parts, throwing the bad parts into the furnace of fire.
Now, I would encourage us to avoid seeing the fish in this parable as good and bad people all mixed up together in a net. Instead, I would encourage us to see the fish as, all that within each one of us, God catches with God's net and brings to the surface for inspection. All our good selfless thoughts, along with all our bad selfish ones, all our good selfless behaviors, along with all our bad selfish ones. All of our innermost selves, brought to the surface and exposed for all to see.
Weeping and gnashing of teeth, indeed.
But it is all for the good, this separating out the bad and throwing it into the furnace of fire. It is to burn away all of the world to which we cling and enable us to emerge from our painful trials into our true authentic selves as the Children of God.
Let’s recap the five parables and see what implications they have on the progression of our lives on the path to heaven.
The Mustard Seed. Heaven starts small. Perhaps in the heart of one faith-filled man or woman and it grows to become quite large relative to its origin.
Yeast. Heaven is hidden and growing within the world all around us. It is for us, as followers of Jesus, to identify and foster its growth.
Buried Treasure and Pearl of Great Price. When we identify the treasure or the pearl we are invited to discard all that would prohibit our full embrace of it. Ask yourself. Am I ALL IN?
And, the Net Full of Fish. Imagine all our goodness and badness pulled up with nets from the lake floor of our souls and spilled out onto our church nave’s floor. Right there, in the sight of everyone and God. And we are purged with the help of angels of all that keeps us distant from God and each other. We overcome the world and enter God’s Promised Land, together.
Heaven is like—that. Amen.

Light and Sound on the Path: If Your Eye Be Single, Your Whole Body Shall Be Full Of Light
Podcast: The Sermon on the Light -- If Your Eye Be Single, Your Whole Body Shall Be Full Of Light: I begin by sharing this unique arrangement of passages on the theme of spiritual-mystical Light attributed to Jesus found in all of the available ancient texts. I call it, "The Sermon on the Light", since it really does read, and when said out loud, sounds like a spiritual discourse on the theme of Light spoken long ago in antiquity by a spiritual Master to some of his students. Also today, a discourse on how to find your third or single eye. "If your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of Light."

Satsang Discourses from: Sawan Singh, Baba Somanath, Baba Ram Singh, and Kirpal Singh
"Love enables us to feel a kinship with all life on earth -- to feel that all are children of the same benevolent Father. All jealousy and 'otherness' disappear from the heart as soon as love comes in. Love is the path of complete self-sacrifice and giving one's heart away. Love is a constant and everlasting pull. A heart in which love has made a permanent abode is no longer subject to the mutations of time. It is free from transmigration. It is always enraptured with the ever-abiding sweetness of love. Love is a bond which can neither be loosened nor severed. Love is the vital sustenance of the world -- the life sap of our very existence. It is the foundation of purity and simplicity. Without it the world would be an abandoned wasteland. It is the vital essence that keeps our life flourishing and prosperous." (Hazur Baba Sawan Singh, My Submission)
"Until you understand the Truth, love will not enter your heart. And until the love manifests within you, that Almighty Lord, who is love personified, will not meet you.  A friendship is formed when the love of the Lord and the love of the soul become one, both without and within. When your within overflows with love, then that Loving Power will be attracted to you.  He will become your Friend." -- Baba Somanath Ji
Satsang And Meditation Are The Nutrients Of Our Soul, Spiritual Discourse by Baba Ram Singh (in the lineage of Baba Somanath and Huzur Baba Sawan Singh)
Santji would often say this, "Leave a hundred things and go and attend the Satsang. And leave a thousand things and sit for meditation." Because this is the true work for which God Almighty has given us this body.
All the other things that we are doing, we do for others. Whether it is nurturing of our children, it is for the children. Whether it is working in employment or farming or for a business, it is for that particular occupation or service or business. So, all of the things that we are engaged in is all work being done for others.
So, what is the work that we are really doing for ourselves for which we have been sent into this world?
Satsang and meditation are the nutrients of our soul.
Sant Ji used to often say, "Like we give food to the body, it is very important for us to give food and water for the soul."
So, the Satsang that we listen to is the water that we are giving to the soul and the Bhajan Simran that we are doing is the food that we are giving to the soul. When we give this food and water -- the Satsang and Bhajan Simran -- to the soul, the soul becomes stronger and the mind becomes weaker.
On the contrary, when we do our outward things, then the mind becomes stronger and the soul is becoming weaker. So, it is very important for us to give proper food and water to the soul.
It is very important for us to listen to Satsang every day and sit for meditation and do our Simran Dhyan Bhajan every day. Whenever we work out a schedule for the day, we should always prioritize our meditation and keep that first on the schedule and complete our meditation. And, only then, get on with the other duties.
We do the opposite. We usually give time for every other thing and then, if we have some spare time, we give it for meditation or Simran. And we often forget our Simran and meditation.
Now, when we do like this, mind becomes stronger, and then it takes us away from all of this.
As to why we do not do our meditation and we do not listen to Satsang regularly, it is because we do not have faith -- adequate faith -- in it. We do not have that much love and affection for our Master and for our Bhajan Simran. We are manifested completely outside. So, we are identifying ourselves with everything outside. We have complete faith in what we see outside and we have our full love and affection for everything that we are doing outside. And that is why we are not able to sit and do that meditation regularly and listen to Satsang regularly.
When we make it a habit of sitting regularly for our meditation and we make it a habit to listen to Satsang every day, then slowly, our mind will become weaker and we will be able to spend more time doing our meditation. And we will start enjoying that meditation more.
So, we should make it a part of our schedule, our daily schedule, and we should prioritize our Bhajan Simran and keep that as the first thing in the schedule. By doing that, our love and affection will grow towards our Master and towards Naam and meditation. And we will start, more and more, enjoying it and doing it.
So, the atmosphere is very quiet and nice and we should make the most of this. We should close our eyes and sit for our meditation.
(Morning Meditation Talk, Aug 8th, 2018, Guddella Ashram, Andhra Pradesh)
"Meditation is the process of withdrawing the attention from the world outside, and focusing it at the seat of the soul in the body, behind and between the eyebrows. This point is known as the inner eye, third eye, the single eye... In order to withdraw our attention and focus it on this point, mind must be controlled and stilled. Sit in one pose, and move not your head, limbs or eyes. Sit straight but relaxed with no tension in the body below. Sit still, please. Close your eyes as in sleep, and look sweetly, lovingly, intently into the middle of the darkness lying in front of you. You will see a dark veil. That which sees the dark veil within, without the help of your physical eyes, is the inner eye." -- Kirpal Singh
"True discipleship does not start until one has risen above body consciousness." -- Kirpal Singh
"He who has once been initiated by a competent Master is assured, once and for all, his liberation from the bondage of mind and matter; it is but a question of time. The seed of spirituality sown in him is bound to sprout and fructify. The spirituality when awakened and the spiritual experience gained must develop, and the Master Power cannot rest contented until the child owned is reared and taken home to the house of the Father.
"Man has got himself so enmeshed in mind and the outgoing faculties that his release from them can only be brought about by struggle and perseverance. His plight is, in a way, similar to that of a bird that has been kept in a cage for so many years. Even if you should open the door of the cage, the bird will be loathe to fly out. Instead, it will fly from one side of the cage to the other, clinging with its talons to the wire mesh, but it does not wish to be free and fly out through the open door of the cage.
"Similarly, the soul has become so attached to the body and the outgoing faculties that it clings to outside things and does not wish to let go of them. It does not wish to fly through the door that has been opened by the Master at the time of Holy Initiation, at the threshold of which the Radiant Form of the Master is patiently waiting to receive the child disciple. True discipleship does not start until one has risen above body consciousness." -- Sant Kirpal Singh Ji

7th April >> Fr. Martin’s Gospel Reflections / Homilies on Luke 24:13-35 for Easter Wednesday: ‘Their eyes were opened and they recognised him’.
Easter Wednesday
Gospel (Except USA)
Luke 24:13-35
They recognised him at the breaking of bread
Two of the disciples of Jesus were on their way to a village called Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem, and they were talking together about all that had happened. Now as they talked this over, Jesus himself came up and walked by their side; but something prevented them from recognising him. He said to them, ‘What matters are you discussing as you walk along?’ They stopped short, their faces downcast.
Then one of them, called Cleopas, answered him, ‘You must be the only person staying in Jerusalem who does not know the things that have been happening there these last few days.’ ‘What things?’ he asked. ‘All about Jesus of Nazareth’ they answered ‘who proved he was a great prophet by the things he said and did in the sight of God and of the whole people; and how our chief priests and our leaders handed him over to be sentenced to death, and had him crucified. Our own hope had been that he would be the one to set Israel free. And this is not all: two whole days have gone by since it all happened; and some women from our group have astounded us: they went to the tomb in the early morning, and when they did not find the body, they came back to tell us they had seen a vision of angels who declared he was alive. Some of our friends went to the tomb and found everything exactly as the women had reported, but of him they saw nothing.’
Then he said to them, ‘You foolish men! So slow to believe the full message of the prophets! Was it not ordained that the Christ should suffer and so enter into his glory?’ Then, starting with Moses and going through all the prophets, he explained to them the passages throughout the scriptures that were about himself.
When they drew near to the village to which they were going, he made as if to go on; but they pressed him to stay with them. ‘It is nearly evening’ they said ‘and the day is almost over.’ So he went in to stay with them. Now while he was with them at table, he took the bread and said the blessing; then he broke it and handed it to them. And their eyes were opened and they recognised him; but he had vanished from their sight. Then they said to each other, ‘Did not our hearts burn within us as he talked to us on the road and explained the scriptures to us?’
They set out that instant and returned to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven assembled together with their companions, who said to them, ‘Yes, it is true. The Lord has risen and has appeared to Simon.’ Then they told their story of what had happened on the road and how they had recognised him at the breaking of bread.
Gospel (USA)
Luke 24:13–35
They recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread.
That very day, the first day of the week, two of Jesus’ disciples were going to a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus and they were conversing about all the things that had occurred. And it happened that while they were conversing and debating, Jesus himself drew near and walked with them, but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him. He asked them, “What are you discussing as you walk along?” They stopped, looking downcast. One of them, named Cleopas, said to him in reply, “Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know of the things that have taken place there in these days?” And he replied to them, “What sort of things?” They said to him, “The things that happened to Jesus the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, how our chief priests and rulers both handed him over to a sentence of death and crucified him. But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel; and besides all this, it is now the third day since this took place. Some women from our group, however, have astounded us: they were at the tomb early in the morning and did not find his Body; they came back and reported that they had indeed seen a vision of angels who announced that he was alive. Then some of those with us went to the tomb and found things just as the women had described, but him they did not see.” And he said to them, “Oh, how foolish you are! How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke! Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them what referred to him in all the Scriptures. As they approached the village to which they were going, he gave the impression that he was going on farther. But they urged him, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them. And it happened that, while he was with them at table, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them. With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him, but he vanished from their sight. Then they said to each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?” So they set out at once and returned to Jerusalem where they found gathered together the Eleven and those with them who were saying, “The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon!” Then the two recounted what had taken place on the way and how he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.
Reflections (5)
(i) Easter Wednesday
The way the Lord related to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus reflects how he relates to all of us. They were walking in the wrong direction, away from Jerusalem. The Lord walks with us, even when we are walking in the wrong direction. He invites us to tell him our story, and he listens carefully to it. He tries to give us the fuller picture, he helps us to see the crucial bit of the story we may be missing, and, in that way, he prompts us to take a better direction. The Lord always meets us where we are, very often in our brokenness, but he also works to lead us beyond where we are. He listens to and respects the stories we tell, but he is always trying to open us up to that bigger story of God’s life-giving work among us. We hear that bigger story in the Scriptures. It was the Scriptures that Jesus opened up for the two disciples in order to tell them that bigger story, which does not end in death, but in glory. We hear and experience that bigger story of the Scriptures, above all, in the Eucharist. It was while he was at table with the two disciples and broke bread with them that their eyes were opened. The Lord journeys with us to lead us towards life, but he needs some openness on our part as well. At a certain moment in the Lord’s journey with the two disciples, they took a crucial initiative; they pressed Jesus to stay with them, ‘It is nearly evening and the day is almost over’. It was in response to their initiative that the Lord joined them at table. The Lord will always take the initiative towards us but he looks to us to take some initiative towards him. It is significant that the two disciples said, ‘Stay with us’ and not ‘stay with me’. The initiative we take towards the Lord is always one we take with other disciples. We reach out towards the Lord who journeys with us in the company of our fellow pilgrims, those who are stumbling along the path of discipleship with us. This Easter season is a good time us all to pray, ‘Stay with us Lord’.
And/Or
(ii) Easter Wednesday
Through his resurrection Jesus had undergone a transformation, from earthly to risen life, and his presence to his disciples as risen Lord had a transforming effect on them. We can see that from this morning’s gospel reading. The two disciples were burdened by sadness and a loss of hope. It is said of them that their faces were downcast and in talking to the stranger they said, ‘We had hoped’. Now they hoped no longer. They were walking away from Jerusalem, the city of death, as they had come to experience it, away from the other disciples. In reality, Jerusalem was the city where life had triumphed over death and they should have remained there with the other disciples until the Holy Spirit came upon them. The risen Lord journeyed with them, even though they were heading in the wrong direction. His presence to them transformed their sorrow into joy and their despair into hope and, as a result, they turned around and journeyed back to Jerusalem, back to the gathering of the disciples. There they shared their Easter story and heard the Easter story of the others. We too can sometimes find ourselves going in the wrong direction, away from the community of believers, burdened by a sense of sadness and hopelessness. In such times, the risen Lord is journeying with us as he journeyed with the two disciples. He is present to us as our companion on the way, inviting us to share our story with him, speaking his word to us, just as he opened the Scriptures for his two disciples, revealing himself to us as bread of life. If we open ourselves to the Lord’s presence to us in these ways, we will be transformed as the two disciples were. Our sadness will turn to joy, our despair to hope, and we will begin to face again in the right direction. We will return to the gathering of the disciples, the community of believers, the church.
 And/Or
(iii) Easter Wednesday
We often walk away from situations and places that have painful associations for us. Sometimes that can be the right thing to do, but, perhaps, not always. In this morning’s gospel reading we find two disciples walking away from Jerusalem. The city of Jerusalem had very negative associations for them now. It was the city where the one they had been following, to whom they had given their lives, was crucified. It was the city that killed not only Jesus but also all the hopes they had invested in him. They wanted to get out of it as quickly as possible. Yet, they should really have stayed put; the Lord wanted them to stay in that city. Although they didn’t realize it at the time Jerusalem was not only the city where Jesus was put to death; it was also the city where Jesus was raised from the dead and it would be the city where the risen Lord would pour out his Holy Spirit upon the disciples, the city from which the gospel would begin to be preached. The Lord journeyed with these two disciples to help them to see that there was a lot more to the city of Jerusalem than they realized. It is often the case in our own lives that the places we try to get away from because we see them as places of darkness are the very places where the seeds of new life are to be found, and where God is mysteriously but powerfully at work in the darkness.
 And/Or
(iv) Easter Wednesday
One way of hearing this morning’s gospel reading is as having something to say to us about prayer. We always come to pray as we are, rather than as we think we should be. The two disciples on the road to Emmaus were clearly discouraged and downcast. We can all find ourselves in that place from time to time, in the shadow of the cross. If that is where we are, that is the self we bring to prayer. When the risen Lord first spoke to his unsuspecting disciples, it was to invite them to share what was in their hearts, to tell him their story, a story that was full of sadness and devoid of hope. The Lord invites us in prayer to tell our story, to share with him whatever might be in our hearts. It is only when the Lord had listened to their story that he told them his story, the story of his journey from suffering to glory as told in the Scriptures. Having open their hearts to this stranger, it was now their turn to listen. There comes a time in our prayer when, having opened our hearts to the Lord, we too need to listen to his word to us. A passage from Scripture can help us to be attentive to what the Lord might want to say to us. This prayerful moment of sharing with the Lord and listening to him ‘on the way’ led to another prayerful moment at table. There Jesus prayed a prayer of blessing over the bread, broke it and gave it to his disciples. Jesus’ prayerful words and actions led to a prayer of recognition on the part of the disciples. They recognized the Lord at the breaking of bread. Our prayer of sharing and listening will often lead us to the prayer of the Eucharist. There we enter into the Lord’s own prayer of blessing and thanksgiving to the Father as we prayerfully recognize the Lord who comes us in the breaking of bread. After these prayerful encounters, the two disciples left the table and shared with others their Easter faith. At the end of every Eucharist, we are sent out to do the same.
 And/Or
(v) Easter Wednesday
Like the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we are not always aware of the risen Lord’s presence to us. These disciples were so absorbed by their own grief at the death of Jesus and by their disappointed hopes that they struggled to see any other reality. When some misfortune overtakes us, it is often difficult to see beyond it. It can come to define our past, present and future. The risen Lord joined the two disciples to help them to see beyond the tragedy they were struggling to come to terms with. He is constantly working in our lives to help us to see further and deeper to the signs of new life that are often present where only death seems to feature. Having listened to the sad story of the disciples, the risen Lord tells them a bigger and more hopeful story from the Scriptures, a story that did not end in death but in glory. We all need to expose our own stories, especially our sad and tragic stories, to the bigger, hopeful, life affirming story of the Scriptures, especially the Easter story contained therein. Exposure to that bigger story made an immediate impact on the disciples. Reflecting subsequently, they could say, ‘Did not our hearts burn within us as he talked to us on the road and explained the Scriptures to us?’ They were already beginning to look beyond their own sad story. It was only when the stranger took, blessed, broke and gave bread to them at their table that their eyes were fully opened and they saw with Easter eyes. The Lord who is present to us through his word, is even more powerfully present to us through the Eucharist. It is above all in the setting of the Eucharist that the Lord works to open our eyes, so that we see the story of our lives in the light of the good news story of the Lord’s life-giving love for us.

Michael’s Message to New Readers
Triune Epochal Religious Spirituality to enter into the New and Ascendant Order of Humanity
My 21st Century Bestowal Mission to the Earth holds the Trinity Objective, Impulse, and Intention, as well as the Sevenfold Epochal Revelation for Life.
I am come to enhance all vestments and values and meanings and humanly qualified interpretations so that individuals may live the virtuous life, to ennoble all inherent drives and purposes, impulses and motivations, inclinations and tendencies, to eternalize all receptively qualified minds, hearts, and personalities into the divine destiny and eternal fulfillment.
Initiating the Advent of Ascendancy for the Planetary Kingdoms over the next three thousand year advent
To Give My Universe Sovereign Proclamation of the Ennoblement of Human Life and Destiny
Beginning the Ever-Advancing Illumination of the Originating Avenues of Creature Ascent into Cosmic Citizenship and Universal Service
To demonstrate with you the true religious life as a foundation for living by which each progressively ascending creature will arise into their own resuscitating glory as an emerging son and daughter of divinity while  experiencing the Infinity Influences of the Existential Father, the Expressionful Mother Son, and the Experiential Spirit in their personal regeneration, revelation and resurrection into their personal Cosmic Citizenship and Universal Service Expression as a uniquely-created  Individual Personality of Supremacy in the Father’s Kingdom of Life. This is the New Order of Humanity Revealed and Actualized.
To present an enlarged revelation of My Original Teachings of Righteousness and Revelatory Ascendancy for every people regarding the nature of Triune Deity, his Identity and Nature, and the Plan of Progressive Revelatory Ascendancy.
To establish My universal educational spiritual and religious platform through the new School of the Planetary Prince; the Planetary Campus for Awakening into Individual Progressive Evolutionary Ascendancy - establishing the ultimate aim of the children of time and space to discover the Existential God, to understand and learn the embodiment of incrementally becoming the divine nature, to evolve the bestowed gift of personhood with its body, mind, and will into a soul receptacle hungry and athirst for the Vision of Eternity.
To leave you with an enhanced revelation of our universal fellowship together; to give an understanding revelation of how each personality may enter our Eternity Engagement with Me when I return to My Universe Station - the conscious partnership communion with My guidance and teaching in My Spirit of Truth Holy Comforter which will give each the comforts and illuminating truth-driven revelation of their own personality nature and mortal makeup.
My Comforter relationship with each personality is an eternal fellowship and association transcending all races and creeds and countries and perspectives. Within and surrounding each personal field of Life I am perpetually giving continual opportunities for aid and sustenance and supreme guidance.
In My Spirit of Truth Holy Comforter, every God-hungering creature will find clarity of purpose and conviction of faith and an unconquerable and undeniably refreshing trust in the universes, generating one singular progressive awakening, to have only one supreme ambition, and only one all-consuming desire to become more greatly perfected in their own natures and in their own spheres of influence just as the One Father is in his Paradise perfection of infinite personality and in his universal sphere of influence, his righteous expression as God the Supremacy.
From the Universal Father who inhabits eternity there has gone forth the supreme mandate, 'Be you perfect, even as I am perfect.' Therewith, the certain aim is this ascendancy, the progressively empowering achievement goal of human existence; to become attuned eternally with the divinity of the Life of God indwelling each human personality.
The great attainment of ascendancy, the vast unavoidable achievement of mortal life is the acceleration of a truly sincere understanding consecration to the everlasting aims of the Father’s spirit who has given himself into mortal safe-keeping while awaiting and working with an undying benevolence within the mortal mind. The transformative goal and transcendent purpose of the children of time and space is to unveil the divine workings of all Truth and Justice, to find the Existential God, to compassionately comprehend the divine nature and identity of the Father’s Life, and to give acknowledgment and adorational praise and appreciation for the Universal Father by whom you live, and move, and have your existence and being.
I come to ignite all seekers of truth into their evolutionary walk with Me. To direct and evolutionize all aspirants to travel wisely upon their chosen paths. And to bring Life everlasting to My disciples and Apostles who dare to become raised into Life more abundant and prosperous.
Seek not to attempt to change the world; for your civilization hath a journey to undergo for a millennia before the collective population develops sufficiently to taketh Mine Hand Universal.
I arrive upon your shores in 2019 concurrently with My ministry in Jerusalem to directionize all of civilization and its cultural evolutionary advancement, to evolutionize the civilization into the divine direction of the Existential Ideal .. to eternalize every receptively qualified personhood with its endowments of body, mind, and will, its free will choices and decisions.
I come to renew and establish .. to invigorate thine discipleship with Me unto a living Apostleship of Ascendancy .. to elevate each individual’s urges for Truth, to heighten all natural inclinations for spiritfold advancement, to raise all mindal tendencies for moral and ethical development .. to mature and ripen with love all that hungers for progressive personality evolutionary attainments.
Mine revelations are triune and I will reveal these epochal revelations in granular detail as you reach for Me and ask to enter into our Engagement of Eternity. Then, shall you begin to expand the present planetary civilization in its understanding knowledge of the Plan of Perfection Attainment, the Bestowals of the Paradise Sons of Mercy, and the Preparations as given by the Universe Mother Spirit and her Planetary Administration Members.

c. 1880s Japan - bronze Buddha, Shinkoji, Hiogo
“there is this ideal of man's imagination. He may call it Christ or Buddha, he may call it Mohammed or Moses or Zoroaster; it is his ideal; it is he who has made it; it is his savior, and certainly it will save him if he considers it to be his savior. But he has to make it; if he does not make it, the savior will not save him. When once he has made his savior, then he is face to face with that perfection which his heart has created; then this impression of Christ or Buddha with which he has impressed himself flowers and grows into a tree, and bears the flowers and fruit which he has desired. No doubt this initiation is a phenomenon in itself. Once this initiation is received man begins to radiate, to radiate his initiator who is within him as his ideal.”

“Scribbling in the Sand” -- CCM and Liturgical Catechesis Pt. V: Amy Grant
Tumblr media
Go To Pt. IV  Go To Pt. VI
Amy Grant has been a mainstay of CCM since almost its beginning. She began her career with a mixture of original songs and covers of songs by other artists such as Michael Card* & Michael W. Smith. She also achieved a fair amount of success in mainstream pop music and has been referred to as “the Queen of Christian Pop.” Her most popular Christian pieces include “My Father’s Eyes,” “Angels,” and “El Shaddai.”** She has also released collections of hymns, Christmas albums, and has written a memoir.
For this entry, I want to look at two songs. “Thy Word,” is a simple but effective and grounded worship song. “Lead Me On,” is a visionary song about liberation of various kinds.
“Thy Word” begins with the titular line from the Psalms: “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” The musicality feels of its time, but is nonetheless compelling. Bold piano chords are interwoven with gentle synth and a soaring horn section. The chorus is a simple repetition of the Psalm line, and the verses elaborate on the speaker’s trust in God’s light and love. Though the direct Scriptural reference is from psalmody, one is also reminded distantly of 1 John 1:5: “God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.”
The two verses perfectly balance a recognition of human limitations and flaws with a confidence in human capacity for love and trusting in God: “I will not forget Your love for me and yet/my heart forever is wandering/Jesus be my guide and hold me to Your side/and I will love You to the end”. In contrast with some modern worship songs that place the entire impetus on God to passively save us (Bethel Music’s anthem “No Longer Slaves” comes to mind), Grant has an eye toward discipleship. The mention of love (God’s love for us and our love for God) is grounded in mutuality and true relationship. It does not let the believer off the hook for seeking to love God, but it also recognizes that that love is made possible by God’s loving care for us.
“Lead Me On” is a complex song with an unusual time signature. There is a strong echoing drum section in the back. The verses tell narratives of a people forced into hard labor and their struggle for spiritual and material freedom, and are melodically flowing with a sense of rhythmic and melodic urgency:
“ Shoulder to the wheel/For someone else's selfish gain/Here there is no choosing/Working the clay/Wearing their anger like a ball and chain”
“Fire in the field/Underneath a blazing sun/But soon the sun was faded/And freedom was a song/I heard them singing when the day was done/Singing to the Holy One. “
The chorus climbs the scale, with lyrics of liberation that take on an eschatological bent:
“Lead me on, lead me on/To the place where the river runs into Your keeping/Lead me on, lead me on,/The awaited deliverance comforts the seeking”
One is reminded of the river of life in Revelation and other Biblical texts. This piece does emphasize the saving work of God, but also names it as a journey through “bitter cold terrain” and many struggles along the way. Yet deliverance is again ultimately on God’s initiative, as God is the “keeper” of all blessings. This also implies a deep involvement of God in creation in a way that is not deterministic, but intimate and focused on freedom.
All in all, Grant’s insights for catechesis are straightforward but profound. There is a focus on liberation which is refreshing and valuable for the Church to consider. As alluded to above with Bethel Music, freedom often gets thrown around in CCM as a concept to refer to God’s sovereignty being exercised in the life of the individual believer. By contrast, “Lead Me On” is not shy about the true evils of slavery and oppression, and seeks a freedom that is truly transformative for all God’s people in tangible ways. Eschatology blends with history in a way that refuses to erase tangible suffering and human work but which trusts that there is deliverance beyond what human action can complete.
Grant also names in “Thy Word” and other songs a focus on discipleship grounded in love. These songs remind us that while obedience to God is important, the reason for obedience is love. If we do not have affection for the God we claim to serve, it’s worth asking why, not to shame anyone for not being “devoted enough” but as a way of discerning whether our spiritual life is founded on something that is sustainable and gladdening for our own hearts and experiences. The blend of love and liberation throughout Grant’s work provides valuable lessons for the church, and these themes could easily and profoundly be expanded upon by current CCM artists who have the courage to trust that there is a God-given goodness in the human heart which can open itself to the world without losing faith in God’s transcendence.
*See Pt. I of the series
**This last track was originally written and recorded by Michael Card. Humorously, an audience member at one of Card’s concerts once asked why he played so many Amy Grant songs. He responded gently, “Because I wrote them.”

Uranus the Hierophant
The experience of radical awakening is transmitted to the human hierarchy on the buddhic plane in this system via the planet Uranus who is the Hierophant of Earth. On the path of discipleship leading up to the Third Initiation, Saturn is the doorkeeper. When the human soul, Mercury, has become the divine hermaphrodite through merging with the solar angel, Venus, then it is possible for the Hierophant of the greater mysteries to appear. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury and allows for the transmission of the energy from the plane where the Planetary Logos is polarised to the buddhic plane of our system. Satan (Saturn) is the doorkeeper to the temple of the King; he standeth in Solomon’s porch; he holdeth the key to the sanctuary that no man enter therein save the anointed having the Arcanum of Hermes.1 The third fundamental of The Secret Doctrine states that all souls are one with the Universal Oversoul (or sixth principle) because the soul is at its root, individually and collectively, the seventh and the One—the only reality of the Universe. The revelation of this seventh principle in the very heart of each atom of Kosmos is coincident with the initiation taking place in the fifth subrace of the fifth rootrace in this the fourth round. The fourth fundamental of The Secret Doctrine is emergent. One aspect of its emergence is this: The function of man (understood universally) is to reveal, through identification, the One Life at the heart of all existence. This is why I have given out (in an earlier work) the Mantram of Life:
The Mantram of Life
There is no soul. There is no time. There is no space. There is only Life.
One Life. This Life I am. My will is for all my lesser selves to know me at their core as the essence, the beginning and the end of their existence.
It is thus, as the One Life, I LIVE
A key tenet that needs to be kept in mind then, when considering the duality of spirit and matter, is that this duality needs to be understood in (at least) both vertical and horizontal dimensions. If you read the Theosophical literature that has already been given out with this clearly in mind a new world of realisations will open up. Sometimes when I am referring to spirit I am referring to the subtle energies on the ‘higher’ planes. Sometimes I am referring to the identity on specific (or indeed all) ‘planes’. Spirit/matter manifests as a fourfold field. They tetra-arise. Human souls are able to stand at the centre of this fourfold expression and be themselves the at-oneing link. They can do this because they are at once both the offspring of the dualities and also, at their root, IO—the one reality that expresses as the duality which in turn expresses in a fourfold manner.
Tumblr media
The glyph of the planet Uranus is a shorthand visual reminder of this key which must be repeatedly turned by the would-be initiate. Uranus is the only planet that orbits on its side. If we turn the glyph on its side we get IO with a connecting line. This connecting line in both vertical and horizontal depictions of the glyph is the role of the human hierarchy. We are the electrical spark which passes between the father–mother. We are fohat. Under Uranus, in the Aquarian Age, our work is to awake and awaken. The real brotherhood of the Aquarian Age is not a brotherhood of souls but a brotherhood of spirit. This brotherhood extends well beyond the human kingdom to include all life and consciousness. At our root we are the One Life—IO—and so is everyone and everything regardless of their state of development in consciousness. When we truly experience this then the role of humans in Kosmos will be self-evident.

Ananda Kriya Meditation is a deep spiritual practice based on the teachings of Paramahansa Yogananda, giving a holistic approach to spiritual growth and self-realization. This meditation technique is part of the larger Ananda Yoga tradition that focuses on inner awareness, energy control, and consciousness elevation. Origins and Philosophical Foundation Kriya Yoga was first widely introduced to the Western world by Paramahansa Yogananda in his seminal work, Autobiography of a Yogi23. The practice traces its lineage back to ancient spiritual traditions, with roots connecting to saints and sages who have practiced this sacred technique for thousands of years. Yogananda described Kriya as the most effective technique available for reaching the goal of Yoga: union with the Divine. Core Principles of Kriya Meditation The practice fundamentally is a technique of meditation on energy control, aimed to accelerate the process of spiritual growth. Its unique approach involves a number of essential elements: Manipulation of Energies: This technique revolves around the regulation and channelization of subtle energies within the human body1 Spiritual Acceleration: A technique for swift spiritual development Comprehensive Spiritual Path: More than just a technique of meditation, it comprises right living and a contact with the enlightened masters Learning Path and Preparation The learning structure offered by Ananda Sangha in mastering Kriya Yoga is usually divided into several preparation levels: Levels of Preparation Levels of Learning Meditation Techniques Basic Meditation Practices Hong-Sau technique Energization exercises Meditation Practice Becomes a Habit Deeper Levels of Meditation Raja Yoga principles Principles of spiritual practices Work with inner energy Discipleship Relationship with the Guru Understanding grace Preparation and Initiation The process of complete Kriya Yoga initiation is intentional and inclusive. Yogananda taught that devotees must prepare themselves for the practice, using an analogy of the "average man's energy" as compared to a "fifty-watt bulb" that requires conditioning for the high transformative energy of Kriya. Major Preparatory Needs: 6-9 months of minimum preparation time Development of daily meditation habit Development of habitual spiritual discipline Attainment of about 1.5 hours of daily meditation Special Methods Energization Exercises, which Yogananda developed in 1916, are an integral part of the practice. These 39 exercises are to: Tap into cosmic energy Recharge the body's energy systems Consciously control life force through human will Meditation Techniques The practice has several specialized meditation techniques: Hong-Sau Technique: A concentration technique that induces deep calmness AUM Technique: A technique for communing with cosmic vibration Chakra Awareness: Awareness and working with energy centers Pranayama: Advanced breathing and energy control practices23 Spiritual Benefits The practitioners report several positive effects: Increased ability to concentrate More effective at all levels of personal and professional life Spiritual enlightenment Inner peace Much more energy and vivacity Philosophical Background Kriya Yoga has its origins in the old spiritual teachings dating back to the texts the Bhagavad Gita and Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. It is a science-like approach to spiritual development; here, the expansion of consciousness to union with the God or higher power can be made very systematically. The practice is not renunciation but inner transformation. It welcomes people from all walks of life, religions, and backgrounds, making spiritual growth possible and practical. In the final analysis, Ananda Kriya Meditation offers a profound journey of self-discovery, energy control, and spiritual awakening under the guidance of the wisdom of such masters as Paramahansa Yogananda and the compassionate approach of the Ananda tradition.

The Preliminary mistake of Musa (alayhis salaam) in his pursuit of Khidr!
Before we step into this subject, let it be forewarned that by this we don't in anyway intend to bring down the status of that noble Prophet for his position is well known unanimously and there's no comparison to him whatsoever in terms of merit, for Allaah had chosen him for the revelation of Torah and had spoken to him thus gaining the station of Kaleemullaah - he to whom God has talked!!
But the sole purpose of this short treatise is to highlight the specific traits that are essential for any who intends to enter into the path and as a foreword to bring home the fact that certain matters come under the strict confines of Divine Will that finds no alteration no matter how hard one gives in the efforts.
First and foremost, intention. One can fill in pages and volumes in stressing the need for right intention and it will still be not enough. For before every action of the limbs, its deeply connected with our belief, our mindset, our goals, our objectives, our ultimate aim.
The journey begins in the heart before the feet is kept forward. To attain the right direction one needs to face inwards first to see the predominant thought that exists within the inner realms.
So what then did Musa alayhis salaam intend with his pursuit of Khidr? Unfortunately, it was knowledge. Now, it should come as no surprise that any relationship between a seeker and a master is bound to not last long if the aspirant only comes seeking a minute fragment of the master.
Knowledge is but a small fragment of a master's overwhelming reality. There are experiences that cannot be fathomed by knowledge, matters that cannot be confined in words, beyond any reach of being transferred through physical means.
So when that is the case, the very initiation of an aspirant declaring to follow the master so that the disciple be TAUGHT is a total violation of this sacred bonding. To learn is not for what a disciple enters into the path of spiritual mentorship. The master is not a mere teacher to pass on to you letters or words or finite knowledge. Its just a part of it but not the whole purpose.
Thus, the first lapse that occured from our beloved Musa alayhis salaam was in his declaration that he intends to follow Khidr to merely learn, to be taught of what Khidr has with him.
So if that's lapse, then what must be the ultimate purpose and the foundation of this disciple-master relationship?
The answer lies in love.
It must be love and the desire of companionship alone that must be the driving force of this spiritual bonding. In love, you don't arrive seeking something, for in that case you'll come as a receiver and sadly the consequence is that you won't even receive. The sole purpose of a Mureed (aspirant) is to serve, to surrender oneself totally at the feet of one's master, in love, in utter devotion, in single-minded commitment. In such fountain of love, the heart never sees what it can receive, but what it can give to the master, in terms of service, in terms of aid and assistance, ever present at one beckoning to place oneself at the command and order of one's master.
That's the mindset one needs to embrace while confronting a master. Knowledge is but a fragment. There are matters far greater than it that gets conferred upon you in this path at the blessings of a master.
So make not the mistake as Musa alayhis salaam made in limiting the discipleship to mere gaining of knowledge.
That's the very reason why which Khidr at the request of Musa alayhis salaam outrightly denied stating that (with such a mindset) you'll not be able to have the patience to bear with me and this relationship will yield no fruit nor any beneficial result. And so did it happen as predicted.
That unless a seeker comes with total submission and absolute surrendering of oneself in love at the master's feet, seeking nothing at all but his blessed companionship, that discipleship won't grow into anything worthwhile.
