prologue : 𝙬𝙝𝙤’𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙖𝙫𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡 ?

following weeks of anticipation and dozens of applications it’s time to finally pick our final 12 angels to compete on 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇. have you made the right decision for our top 12 ? find out on the first episode of the most interactive koc survival show 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇.

nova and yen stood beside each other in coordinated outfits as they had their final touch ups made before making their first official appearance as the hosts of the ultimate kpop project group survival show ‘seraph’. nova and yen had been anticipating this day since they were approached to be the hosts weeks ago. who would turn down an opportunity to be a part of pop culture history? the hosts were just as excited as the audience and the score of contestants that were waiting anxiously backstage for the competition to finally begin. 

the producer stood beside the cameraman with a clipboard in her hand, she silently counted them down. both girls turned to each other and silently wished each other good luck before plastering on their best smiles. 

on queue the shows intro music played along with the designed graphics before the camera focused on the hosts. 

“hello and welcome to ‘seraph’ !” the two girls announce in unison as they cheer finally being able to unleash all their wong up excitement. 

“it’s your favourite princess nova of inter-stellar ” she spoke with a typically royal wave before turning to yen beside her , “ and your devilish angel, yen of triptych!” yen gave the camera a finger gun shot before turning to her co-host.

 “and we are your hosts of ‘seraph’!” they cheered in unison, their smiles sparkling. 

“today is a special day as we will finally discover who are the nation's angels !” yen continued on , nova nodded along focusing her attention on the shorter girl as she awaited her queue. she elegantly brushed her hair behind her ear.

“for those of you who do not understand how this part of the  show works here’s a short rundown. we sent out an announcement and dozens of idols within the industry have sent in their audition tapes to prove why they believe they deserve to be your favourite angel. we then opened up voting and let you decide who the top 12 are and we will be announcing them tonight !” 

“but before we get to the angels let’s introduce our amazing judges ! “she smiled charmingly to the camera before it panned to reveal the panel of judges.

“first up we have the outstanding performer and ex wonder girl sunmi !” sunmi stood up with a smile as she waved to the camera and the audience before sitting back in her seat. 

“next to her we have the queen of stage presence and rap herself hyuna !” the rapper stood up covering her mouth as she blushed. she bowed before taking her seat again. 

“and lastly we have the multi talented dance master : bts’ j-hope !” he struck a pose as he stood up ,  his face broke out into its iconic heart shaped smile as he bowed respectfully and sat back down.

the camera panned back to the girls as they applauded each of the insanely talented judges they had lined up.

the applause died down and the giant projector screen behind the hosts showed the collection of thumbnails of the audition tapes the show had received.

“all of the videos behind us were uploaded to the ‘seraph’ official youtube and website and you as the audience were able to vote all through the week. there was so much talent to pick from but only 12 have made it as your angels. who will spread their wings and who will have their wings cut ? “ yen nails the dramatic tone of the statement as her words builds up the tension in the studio. 

nova clears her throat before she spoke , “in no particular order these are your angels :” she paused for 3 theatric seconds before finally announcing the competition lineup.

“our first angel is ricky of @unholiied​ !” the entire room applauded as ricky’s audition tape played on the giant screen.  she walked up onto the platform from backstage in complete shock. her hands covered her face the entire time as she stood as the first angel. 

“next up we have mimi and eden of @inter-stellar-jyp​ !” nova couldn’t mask the pride in her voice as she watched two of the youngest members of her group move up onto the platform. their auditions played side by side as mimi stood eyes huge and jaw dropped. she was not expecting to be announced. eden bounced excitedly holding onto mimi’s hand as they stood beside ricky. ricky gave the two newest additions a polite bow and round of applause.

the studio’s attention was on the hosts once again as they awaited the next angel. “ our next angel’s are  dahlia of @d3adfl0wers​ and chloe kwon ( @chloekwon​ ) !” the studio applauded as both girls excitedly made their way to the platform bowing along their way . they took their spots beside the already present angels as they tried to mask their excitement and shock. 

“next we have jay of @dulcetgg !” the sixth angel’s squeal could be heard faintly off camera as she just about skipped up to the platform. her audition played behind her as she bowed taking her position. 

“we’re already half way through the angels. judges, how are you feeling looking at our beautiful angels so far?” yen asked. the camera switched to the judges panel and focused on sunmi. 

sunmi chuckled softly as she looked up at the girls. “i think the audience has picked an outstanding amount of talent tonight. all of these girls deserve to be where they are.” 

hyuna and j-hope nod from the seats beside the other judge. 

“definitely! there is so much range and talent on the stage right now and we’re just getting started! i can’t wait to see what they have to show us,” hyuna added on making all the current angels bow with bashful smiles.  

“the angels are already the strongest lineup in history! i’m so excited i want to know the next six. i’m dying at this point.” j-hope joked, making the studio laugh lightly as the camera focused back on nova and yen. 

“thank you, judges.” yen nodded in appreciation before turning her attention back to the main camera. “it’s time to reveal our final six angels.” 

“our seventh angel is ...” nova paused as she looked over at yen expectedly. “ame of @triptychexe !” yen’s face lit up as she turned to see her group mates reaction. ame shook her head in disbelief as she walked to the platform. behind her, her audition tape played. yen didn’t even bother to hide her pride as she gave ame a smile and a thumbs up. 

“our next set of angels are… summer of @se4sonz,  jade of @nct-krown and haeju of @hcney-moon!” yen announced. the 3 girls walked out one after the other, their proud smiles mirroring each other as they moved onto the platform. the other angels congratulated them as they joined the flock. just as the energy in the studio had reached it’s peak, the lights overhead dimmed, hushing the audience and the contestants into silence. a sudden tension draped over the studio as nova brought the microphone to her lips. 

“on the platform behind us we have 10 beautiful angels. there are only 2 spots left. for many of our applicants this is the end of the road.” nova said somberly. “who will be the final 2 angels?” nova’s seriousness created anticipation as she looked over at yen, who had the task of announcing the most anticipated angels. 

“and our final angels are ...” she paused with a deep breath yen looked down at her cards before looking into the camera once again with a knowing gleam in her eyes. “baebi of @whileinvenus and yuri of @cube-vivid !” 

the final 2 girls came out hand in hand. baebi waved at the judges and audience as she walked up to the platform confidently, a stark contrast to the glossy eyed yuri beside her. her shock and relief was evident as she looked up at her audition and wiped at her eyes before waving along with baebi. the 2 took the positions at the very front of the flock completing the angels of ‘seraph’. 

“yuri , what has made you so emotional this evening?” hyuna asked from her spot at the judges panel. 

yuri was handed a mic from a staff member as she thought of a coherent reply. “ um,” she laughed softly as baebi wiped at her eyes, gently  trying to save her makeup. 

“i’m just so thankful to have made it, i didn’t think i would.” she replied, her eyes already welling up again. 

hyuna nodded , “but now look !” 

“you’ve made it , you all have !” nova rhapsodized making the studio fill with praises and cheers. 

“you’ve made it girls- i mean angels ,” sunmi broke out into a wide smile as soon as she corrected herself and that smile reflected on each of their faces. 

“congratulations angels !” j-hope exclaimed into the mic. the angels yelled in excitement on the stage matching his energy. 

“ladies and gentlemen, your angels of ‘seraph’!” yen and nova chorused gesturing to the platform allowing for the cameras to fully focus on each of the contestants.  the shows official music is played as they each got their solo shots with their names and groups written beside them. 

“that’s it for this episode! stay tuned to see how the angels spread their wings and soar through weekly challenges and compete to be a part of the ultimate koc super group  !” yen announced with a bright smile as she threw an arm around nova’s shoulders, bringing the other girl in for an adorable side hug. 

“thanks to everyone who participated and we’ll see you next week !” she laughed brightly  copying yen’s movements. 

“bye !” the 2 hosts waved at the camera before it focused on the rest of the people in the studio. 

the camera cut between the judges standing  up from their chairs to applaud the girls and chatting amongst themselves and the angels on the platform as they happily hugged one another.  the excitement was so thick in the atmosphere it was palpable. the sound of congratulations and the official ‘seraph’ track played as the credits rolled. 

‘seraph’ has officially begun.

8. you freaking love how silly they are. makes you laugh the hardest even when you're fucked up and hate your life. makes you laugh so loud everyone looks at you wondering if something is wrong with you or you just high af. in every try not to laugh challenge kpop vers. you lose when they appears, even if they're just standing there doing absolutely nothing

9. AESTHETICS. every time they post a pic you scream at your phone/computer "INSTAGRAM NEEDS YOU BITCH". you wish you were as aesthetic as them. you attempt to it, you fail. you probably have them as your lockscreen

10. THAT BIAS THAT GOTS YOU WELL FED. posts 24/7 so you spend 24/7 jumping to get your phone every time you get a notification 'CAUSE IT COULD BE THEM. you wonder if they are trying to kill you, they probably are but you don't complain

11. THAT ONE BIAS THAT MAKES YOU A STARVING HOE. post once a year, are probably shy/don't talk too much in vlives or shows but they can also be sometimes the loudest and you thank god for every time they give you a sign they are still alive. when they are strangely active for more than two days you go ?????????????????? and think they're just feeding you 'cause they plan on dissappearing for the next 100 years you right

12. YOUR BABY. it's not like "the cute one". you want to take care of them, don't want nothing bad to ever happen to them, defend them with your life. don't you dare insult them, their fans will literally kill 'cause "their babies only deserve love". you want to keep them in your pocket and protect them from this cruel world. never a hard stan for them, just soft soft soft

13. THE ULTIMATE BIAS. it's a mix of all the above so you just sit there and question what the fuck you are doing with your life and why the hell you're so obsessed with someone you don't even know/why you have so much mix feelings 'for them. you're their hoe, their mum/dad, their best friend, their wife, their girlfriend, the mum/dad of their children, their doctor, their security guard, their babysitter, their sister/brother and even their fucking grandma/grandpa

it was monster (honestly what a song) four years ago! for wooyoung: what initially grabbed my attention was honestly his hair and his performance in inception, the reason(s) he’s my bias his squeaky elmo laugh, how affectionate and snuggly he is, how he THRIVES on chaos and is so goofy and loud but also so thoughtful and loyal, how passionate he is, idk his whole existence just makes me smile EDIT: i forgot to add how much i love the way he always says 'buh bai' all cutely he's so endearing

for san: his squeaky laugh and his dimples, how clingy and affectionate he is, how genuinely kind and warm he is, the way he is like the Ultimate hype man always making sure to hype the members when they do literally anything, his duality how he can be rly soft spoken and warm or loud, chaotic and bursting with energy

Jsuki; PRODUCE 101 Season 2 - Personal Final 11 Ranking

Lately, I've been really into this Korean idol show called "Produce 101". I'm usually very bent towards Japanese entertainment and idols, as you may be able to tell from this blog, but I had a few friends around me who strongly recommended this to me so I gave it a shot. It's safe to say now that I've fallen deeply into the PD101 pit XD

In a gist, 101 trainees from different entertainment companies (or even some with no companies), come together to compete and try to make it to the top 11. These top 11 ultimately get to debut together as a group, but it isn't easy. They participate in a series of performances, which challenge them on their vocals, dance and rap abilities, and also how they work with their team mates. Afterwards, fans and viewers will then get to vote for their favourites. As of right now, the next episode will cut down to the final 22 trainees. The top 11 will then be revealed on 16th June 2017, at a live finale show.

So here is my personal prediction of the final 11! Aside from my bias at No.1, everyone else is not in any particular order. Also, their ultimate ranking doesn't really matter as much to me; I just really hope to see these above boys make the group and debut professionally!

No.1 Lai Guanlin: At first glance, Guanlin looks a lot more mature than his age - He's talented in rap, he's visually captivating and he gets along extremely well with his friends on the show. He is also multilingual (Mandarin, English & Korean), and can play the piano. But Guanlin is just a boy of 15, originally hailing from Taipei, Taiwan, but who eventually moved to S.Korea to pursue his dream. Prior to this show, he only trained in Cube for 6 months. Guanlin is confident and he knows what he wants, but shows great respect towards his seniors and never fails to pitch in ideas that can help the group. Originally, while he struggles to grasp the Korean language and dance properly, you can tell he's always putting in 101% of his effort, and he wants to perform on stage. The top 11 cannot be without Guanlin.

No.2 Park Jihoon: A consistent and top performer, Jihoon is best known as the 'Winkboy', for his performance of 'PICK ME'. Right from the start, he holds a high rank and is crowned as Produce 101's 'visual center' (for his good looks), but that's never made Jihoon complacent in any way. He has high expectations for himself and strives every time to put on the best show possible. For me, he's the most well-rounded idol - From dancing to singing to his looks and mannerism, it's hard not to recognise that he's a true A-class trainee. I'm also very confident that Jihoon will make the final 11.

No.3 Yoo Seonho: The other half of the Cube duo, Seonho came into the competition alongside Guanlin. He's cute in every possible way, loves food way too much, and refers to himself as a 'chick trainee', but when on stage, he has an attractive aura that I think he doesn't even know himself. He also helps Guanlin with his Korean, and alongside, picks up bits of mandarin from him as well. Seonho can also play the piano, and he's just an adorable young boy (you cannot believe he was born in year 2002). I am desperate to see him and Guanlin debut together. Buy 1 get 1 free, that's them for me.

No.4 Kim Jaehwan: Jaehwan has never been the front-runner, but the moment he opens his mouth to sing, you'll feel that he should be. His recent performance in "NEVER" absolutely blew me away, and since the top 11 should definitely have a strong vocalist, I think Jaehwan should be that man. Off camera, Jaehwan is a practical selfie king, and he's just an overall cutie. It's just a bit sad that I feel he's rather underrated.

No.5 Park Woojin: Woojin was never my favourite in the start. He seemed like a powerful dancer, but otherwise, I never felt like he was very 'idol-y' and his looks don't beat that of people like Jihoon or Guanlin either. But this boy really, really grew on me along the way. He gets along so well with his team mates and in the latest episode, when he went around filming Jonghyun and Minhyun and Jaehwan, I thought he was just super cute. Despite getting hospitalised from shingles recently, Woojin still bounced back like a total pro. I'd say he's the dark horse of this competition for sure.

No.6 Kang Daniel: Do I even have to write about him? Daniel has been strong competition since the start, and his fandom is consistently growing, even more so after his latest performance of "Open Up" this week. Daniel has also been b-boying since junior high school too, and (since getting inspired by Jonghyun), he's been trying to be a leader, so he's not just an empty vassle with good looks. He also showed his affectionate side in the earlier episodes, as he cares for Lee Woojin like his little brother. Although he got into a bit of trouble for indirectly interacting with fans on his IG during the taping of the show, he apologised sincerely, so he's forgiven. I personally think he is a shoo-in for the final 11 as well.

No.7 Ong Seongwoo: (I'm always so confused if I should write his name as Seongwoo or Seungwoo or Sungwoo) But this boy is not only talented and good-looking, but also super hilarious! He's an A-class kid through and through, with his crazy dancing chops and infectious laughter, he's every group's mood-maker. The latest 'slate compilation' of him made me laugh so much too XD I think he really has everything it takes to make the top 11 cut.

No.8 Kim Jonghyun: The backstory for Kim Jonghyun, as well as Minhyun, Dongho and Minki, are that they're members from the debuted Kpop group, Nu'est. However, the group didn't do well and they landed in debt even, so after 6 years of professional training, they're now at Produce 101 to become trainees again. It's actually a very sad story (because their company, Pledis isn't very good). Jonghyun is like an absolute angel, which I learned from this show. He's leads his team and listens to his group mates, offering help and humbly accepting opinions, and that's not all he is. He also came in No.1 for Rap overall during one of the week's challenges, (which he was still extremely humble about.) Jonghyun is really a dedicated, top-performer, and if the final 11 has Jonghyun in it, we can trust that the team will have a wonderful leader as well.

No.9 Hwang Minhyun: Like Jihoon, I view Minhyun as a well-rounded, full-packaged idol. He checks all the boxes when it comes to vocals, dancing and outlooks, and he just has one of the greatest smiles. The only thing that's a bit lacking for me is that he's always taking a bit of a back seat, so I was happy when in the recent episode that he wanted to be center and he did so well in that role. He currently ranks 12th in the competition overall, and is safe till the top 11 is announced.

No.10 Lee Daehwi: I think Daehwi has been a stand-out, right from the very start. Not only did he flag himself as a composer (he composed 35 songs prior to this competition), he also composed and wrote his team's audition song, which impressed the judges. Later, he goes on to front the show's theme song, "PICK ME", and forms the 'Avengers' team (a team made out of all the most talked-about boys at that point of time) to perform BTS' "Boy in Luv". While he seems like an over-achiever, Daehwi is really a cinnamon roll in disguise. In the later episodes, he is seen accomodating to other team mates and showing different sides of himself in different songs, but he never lazes off and is always working hard. Despite his young age, Daehwi truly shows immense potential.

No.11 Kang Dongho: How can the Top 11 be complete without the 'sexy bandit'? Dongho is also one of the Pledis boys, and came into the show being shown like some oversized bear, ready to pounce on weaker members, but he is just a softie through and through. Dongho always tries his best to help struggling members, without ever being mean, and even stands up for them when he feels he has to. He's the true man amongst the men, and I think all the guys in the house respect Dongho (even Daehwi who is scared shitless by him XDD). Also, if you ever need someone to set things straight, teacher / mama / bodyguard Dongho is always on the standby.

My next pick if any of these 11 above don't make it: Jung Sewoon: For some reason, I always have a bit of a soft spot for Sewoon. He doesn't stand out like the other guys, with their handsome features and crazy dancing chops, but Sewoon has a sweet voice and whenever he sings, he makes it his own very naturally. I always wonder why he can't be a bit more popular, but I also guess he seems more like a bandman than an idol? Nevertheless, if Sewoon somehow makes the top 11, I'll really be quite happy too.

My next pick if any of these 11 above don't make it: Kim Samuel: Samuel was like that fallen member, whom nobody knew what happened. He was super outstanding during the first few weeks, making the A-class, 'Avengers' and 'Get Ugly' team, all of which featured front-runners in the competition, but then he suddenly slipped from 2nd to 16th, the most shocking drop of all. Samuel is multi-talented and excels especially in dancing, and we'll be seeing him in SEVENTEEN now, if not for the fact that he was too young to debut back then when they did. He's not really a favourite of mine, but I'll admit he works hard and for his age, his dancing chops are amazing. I'm praying his ranking goes up in the next elimination.

The finale will air on Mnet on 16th June 2017 (Fri). It will be a live broadcast, which is estimated to end late. The airing time is currenly unrevealed yet.
