Today is 28 February 2024. There is one day left in this month because it's leap year.
William has done less than ten engagements for the year. He's not going to reach double digits by tomorrow. Wimpy William hasn't worked "full time" since last December before the kids got out of school.
It's Wednesday, and as of this writing, The King with cancer has done more work this week than William. Because King Charles met with PM Sunak today while William was at home sucking his thumb.
Did William travel to Namibia last week for the funeral of former President Hage Gottfried Geingob? Nope. Is funeral duty part of the heir to the throne's job? Yup. But we all know that The Will & Kate Cult will tell you it isn't because William is never to blame for anything. Because Princess Anne will take up the slack and do her nephew's job when she should have been attending a rugby match with her husband. Because Anne is a chip off the ol' block, aka Philip, while William is proving himself to be more and more Spencer with every day that goes by.
All you have to do is look at all the excuses made by The Will & Kate Cult when it came to William's comments at the BAFTAs. William admitted he hardly had seen any of the nominated films, even though most if not all were released in theaters and available via streaming before the nominations were announced.
Oh, but then the complaint was that Prince Philip and Princess Anne didn't watch all the nominated films each year when they were presidents of BAFTA either. Guess what? Streaming wasn't available back then. Philip was president from 1959 to 1965 while Anne was president from 1973 to 2001. Guess what? When Philip was president, he would have had to see a movie/film in the theater or by special request at Buckingham Palace. Availability by VHS wasn't necessarily a thing for the first part of Anne's presidency because most films didn't come out on VHS until more than six months after they were out of the theater. When Batman (1989) was released on VHS in the same year of its initial release prior to Christmas, it was a HUGE deal. It was still playing in theaters when it was released on VHS, which was considered a quick release. DVDs didn't start being prominent until the end of Anne's presidency.
But really it brings it back to Anne and Philip being either president or patron of tens or hundreds of organizations, which neither Will nor Kate are. Will and Kate have said that they aren't going to do the ceremonial-type thing and would instead be more "involved" with their patronages, which--if people actually stop and think about it--is why most people assume William has an interest in film beyond meeting Tom Cruise. Except he clearly doesn't.
But then The Will & Kate Cult want William to be judged by the same standard as those who actually work in the film industry. Because they complained that even those who work in the film industry don't see 100% of the movies. Interesting how the standard always changes according to The Will & Kate Cult. There are people within AMPAS, who will be voting for Robert Downey Jr. for Best Supporting Actor for Oppenheimer, who haven't seen that film. And you know what? They're allowed to. Because they may have worked with him in the past. Or they might have voted for him before when he was nominated for Best Actor for Chaplin when he was up against heavy weights such as Denzel or Pacinao. But, you know, AMPAS members actually work in the industry, unlike The Prince of Wales who has a different job that he doesn't seem all that intent on doing.
But we're not supposed to mention that because William puts his "family first." Or whatever the new excuse is. The last one was "personal matter." Uh huh.

Emily Andrews (I know, hear me out) literally had tweets from 2020 about how William's press secretary tried to get her sacked for writing articles about him being workshy (among other things) and William himself sought her out personally to challenge her (she's since deleted these tweets), yet I have to entertain conversations about the Waleses having no control over what's written about them. No, these people go to great lengths to control what is printed and accepted and what isn't.
I think it's interesting how she's saying "Throwing a tantrum never works" when they LITERALLY TRIED TO FIRE HER for saying the bad thing me-no-like. Is she listening to herself? What is wrong with this woman? How is this an example of William and his team reacting the right way? "Oh, he did threaten my livelihood and then confronted me in public, but he was just so charming while doing it <3"

The recovered tweets are from @/royalfashionpolice over on Instagram. Goooo follow them! People who follow the royals for fashion are usually 1000% cooler than the people who follow the royals . . . for the royals.

What I find really interesting and compelling so the argument that Kate is so lazy and workshy she won’t deliver as Princess of Wales and she’ll have the lowest number of engagements out of everyone like when she was Duchess. But what we’ve seen recently is an appropriate scale-up of her work and engagement numbers. She’s working more - maybe it’s not the Anne numbers the detractors want, but it’s an increase. I think this is great!
Maybe it’s sustainable and her numbers only go up from here. Maybe her numbers go back down in a month or two. But either way, there’s been an obvious change in her work schedule/work habits that makes it clear she understands that being Princess of Wales = more responsibilities and she intends to deliver.
(I also think the scale-up now does indicate that she and William were asked to hold back through the spring because of the coronation and a want to highlight Charles and Camilla without “competition”.)
I think she has a pattern. They tend to work a lot more Sept-March than in the cooler months and their summer work is a bit more sporadic. They're definitely more consistent at this time of year imo, probably because there's more breaks/stuff with school in the summer. I don't think there was a 'scale back' like people think. It doesn't benefit the monarchy to "hide" the heir to the throne and his wife, especially when they always poll as the most popular. There's really not some anti-Wales conspiracy at Buck Palace lol
We know how far out their schedules are planned, and for me personally, I've always said nothing much would change in their first year as the Waleses. Things like the Early Years campaign from earlier this year would have been in the works for ages, way before QEII died, so a huge amount of Catherine's schedule would have been taken up by it. Late 2022 and at minimum the first half of 2023 would have been "planned" as them being the Cambridges. I think we will see more from them now as their schedules are planned befitting their position as heir. I hope that's the case.
But then I've always been on the side of them being more consistent over their actual workload increasing, so there's that.

This goes beyond petty, it's bordering on Machiavellian. Talk about playing the long game and then some.
Meghan's an amateur compared to Queen Camilla. It's telling that Meghan didn't recognize a master and didn't try to recruit Camilla as mentor.
Honestly I don't even care about the crowing of the mistress and all that, only that C&C are resurrecting the Workshy Waleses narrative in their victory lap: I feel it's a rare misstep from Camilla, and she should correct course immediately.
Thanks

"Friends" of Kate Middleton talked to Tom Sykes of The Daily Beast about all of her struggles.
Friends of Kate Middleton have blamed “intense stress,” including the fall-out from the various royal dramas involving Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as being at least partly responsible for her absence from public life, and her need to spend several months recuperating from abdominal surgery. One aggrieved friend said it was outrageous that Kate was being “harassed by the media over fuck-ups made by other people.”
I guess a certain someone needed to learn the hard way about paying attention to the quality of work the people who work for you do. Perhaps if a certain someone wasn't always going on vacation for multiple weeks at a time throughout the year, then it would be more obvious you've hired multiple failures for your office!
They predicted that William and Kate would move to “clear out” Kensington Palace staff who had made mistakes later this year after an extraordinary meltdown in royal communications triggered by Kate publishing a photo in which she was not wearing a wedding ring. Kate subsequently admitted in a social media message that she had edited the photo, but the friend said it was wrong for her team to have permitted Kate to have been landed with the blame. The friend told The Daily Beast: “She has been under incredible pressure for several years, and is now being harassed by the media over fuck-ups made by other people. How her office could have put out a picture without her ring when it was clearly going to be one of the most scrutinized pictures of all time is just unfathomable. And she is to blame? Sorry, no. That was their failure and they should have accepted the blame. They will clear out all those people when the dust settles.”
Oh, really? Is it really "they will clear out" or will it be the new "CEO" of Kensington Palace? Aren't Will & Kate still looking for that take-charge leader who will manage the private secretaries instead of themselves?
But also, if Kate is mad that she had to take the blame for the photo, then why take blame for it in the first place? Why is it that everything is everyone else's fault, yet when the perfect opportunity comes to fire the people responsible, she and William failed to take that action. Firing people who cannot do their job is a basic function of being the person in charge. No wonder Will & Kate need to hire a CEO to do the job they can't do. They're too incompetent to do anything but have their "friends" complain to reporters about how incompetent their staff is. Dick Cheney is still alive, William! He might be able to fly over and do your behind-the-scenes job for you even if he's surviving on an empty tank. Don't miss your chance in case he suddenly croaks before Jimmy Carter does!
Also, I have to love the hints of mental breakdown in this piece. Right at the top it's "intense stress" while later on it's "incredible pressure for several years." So...building the case for a mental breakdown?
Earlier this week, a source who is a friend of Kate and William’s and part of their wider circle of friends, told The Daily Beast that that they and their friend group were “completely baffled” as to why Kate put out a picture which showed her without a wedding band when it seemed “guaranteed to get people asking questions about the state of the marriage.” The friend said: “They are often seen together at school events, and really it is remarkable how one and often both of them will always be at every match, every music concert and every prize giving. The relationship has always seemed incredibly strong despite the immense pressure they are under, so it’s fair to say we were all completely baffled when the picture came out with the wedding ring missing, especially as it was photoshopped. It just seemed guaranteed to get people asking questions about the state of the marriage.”
Duh!
But everything is supposedly okay because William (allegedly) took the photo and Kate (allegedly) photoshopped it. Britain's finest, ladies and gentlemen!!
Another friend of the family also told The Daily Beast that they believed the stress of the last few years around all the drama surrounding Harry and Meghan, and the pressure of a whole raft of changes that came when the queen died, had triggered a stress-related illness in Kate. The source said: “She and William have been under intense stress ever since Harry and Meghan left the family. They spent three years just waiting for the next horrific media interview. On top of that they have moved house, the kids have moved school, the queen died, and she became Princess of Wales. It’s not surprising she got ill, and it’s not surprising she needs a break from it all to get better.”
Am I really supposed to believe Kate did not have a mental/emotional breakdown? Because these two paragraphs sure do hint at it! Along with the other previous statements.
The Queen Mum put the fear into Hitler so much he referred to her as "the most dangerous woman in Europe" while little mouse Kate can't even handle a few years of Markle living overseas! I guess it's a good thing London isn't going to get blitzed anytime soon! The Princess of Wales ain't ever going to be an inspirational figure in the public eye.
A friend of King Charles’ told The Daily Beast that he and the queen would be “wholly sympathetic” towards William and Kate over the debacle. “The only answer is for her to get better and get back to work,” the friend said. Riffing off a reputed maxim of the late Queen Elizabeth II, the friend said, “Now more than ever, they will have to be seen to be believed.”
What?! Will and Kate work? Did Charles's friend not realize the kids are going on break again starting next Friday, 22 March? That's going to be a solid 3.5 weeks of no proof of life of The Prince of Wales! Who knows? He might even make it four weeks given that he might not attempt to start working in the middle of the week. And did Charles's friend not see the "expert" who said it could take Kate six to nine months to recover? Kate isn't going to be opening any hospitals soon. There definitely isn't going to be any emulating QEII happening anytime soon either.
Kensington Palace did not return a request for comment.
I'm so not shocked.
Did Tommy Sykes not realize KP only gives comments to People magazine on the regular?

Of course, William is too delicate to work.
Somehow, his wife is in such bad condition that he has to be by her side while the kids are in school for six--maybe seven--hours a day. A nurse cannot do it for a couple of hours nor a nurse's aide. However, his wife can travel 140 miles one way to their other mansion in the east because the kids will be out of school. Did they travel by car? Or helicopter? Does it matter? Because if someone is that sick that their husband has to be by their side all the damn time, then should they really be traveling?
In William's mind, there's simply no way he could have worked more, before they traveled to that mansion for ten days. It was straight-up impossible for him to have completed actual work last Thursday.

Seeing as he’s benefitted so much from this flexible working opportunity, is he going to come out and champion this for the general public? Acknowledging his privilege would go a long way here I think. People can’t help what they’re born into but they can do a lot with the platform they’re given.
I wonder if he will do that as well. As it seems another PR fiasco waiting to happen. The Queen was dying of cancer but had all her children working full time.
Tumblr media
Whenever articles like this come out I am reminded of what Wills was like when he actually had to work and had weeks off at a time to the dismay of his colleagues.
‘He’s hardly ever on shift. He was very enthusiastic to begin with but it tailed off. It’s supposed to be four on, four off but with the Duke it’s more off than on. He had at least four weeks off over Christmas, which has to be staffed the same as normal weeks. It’s fine that he gets a bit of special treatment but it’s beginning to really annoy some people. The rumour is that he’s just a bit bored of it.’ ”
And then the royal household shot back at claims we was lazy by saying he needed mandatory rest days for his job resulting in the Civil Aviation Authority having to shoot back and saying “When they are having rest days their time is their own, and they can do what they want, including carrying out royal duties.”
I can’t imagine this level of unprofessionalism.
Tumblr media
The whole thing I’ve felt about this is what a stark contrast it is to the plebs they rule over - from preventative chemo when we have people waiting months on the NHS (from personal experience experience - I had a scam last year to see if I have a form of gynaecological cancer. I was told the scan was clear. Last month I was told that the scan was actually inconclusive and needs redoing as they couldn’t see the part the needed to but no one told me until nearly a year later) to partners who get punished for taking time off work to care for a loved one.
I understand that they are rich and powerful enough to do what they want. But it’s rather galling to see such a stark contrast between ruler and subject.
Tumblr media
He really does seem like he’s not interested in the whole thing doesn’t he?
He's only interested in the income and power that comes with it, he'll never give it up he's spent his whole adult life trying to do as little as possible. The moment he got access to the Prince of Wales duchy $ he was no longer beholden to his father and can now redefine expectations. The bar has been set pretty low and he has the British Tabloid Media propping him up and running PR for him, there's also evidence that they spend a fair chunk of cash employing bots online propping them up and attacking anyone who says anything negative. Between the BTM and the royal sychophants he's been getting away with it and will continue to. Countdown 3,2,1 to one of those sycophants leaving me a comment .....
Tumblr media
I think he should have to follow around people who have to keep working while also caregiving for sick or elderly family members while also juggling raising kids and keeping up on other obligations. I’m sure he would be shocked — most of us can’t step back to the extent he gets to do so. As the future king, he should understand the lives of the majority of the people. Read the room.
Tumblr media
Considering their work is mostly just turning up and being “seen”. How exactly is work from home gonna help anyone?
He’s going to do some twitch streaming.
Tumblr media
I just learned that 600 organizations sponsored by QE2 have not yet been taken over.  Some are very important but there are no signs of any restructuring, selection and elimination plans.  People criticize W for this instead of C because W is the one who shows no interest in continuing to show up and sponsor organizations.  William currently only works as Chairman, managing the principality and two projects Earthshot and Housing for the Homeless.  W does not take over King Charles' projects like he is PoW, so King is basically overloaded and cannot take over anymore.
Tumblr media
If he wants to work without being seen, then the real question is what type of "behind the scenes work" is he actually doing? Because every time he talks about a topic in public, he only seems to speak popular talking points that even someone without knowledge can say. He doesn't speak like someone who really knows the topic of discussion in depth.
That's why Earthshot being a "passion project" is laughable. His speeches are so shallow. It's the same with Kate and Early Years and those lame five questions that took some ten years to come up with. Everything they say is like a total no-brainer. So, what work are they really doing behind the scenes?
Tumblr media
I think people whose spouses have cancer should be able to take health leave and its v sad for people who live in a country where they can't. But I would give him a lot more grace if he and Kate weren't famously Duchess Dolittle and Workshy William. This has been a habit for years. Its not like Anne got sick and disappeared from public life
Yep. He has been on Easter holiday since March 23 to April 17. Plus, January entirely off. It doesn't look good.
Tumblr media
My friend has breast cancer (we’re in the UK). She’s having chemo and is the same age as Kate. She has to have fairy major surgery after the chemo and has had to go back to work because she has to save her sick leave for the recovery from the operation. This is during chemotherapy. This country is completely broken and lacks compassion for everyone (like most of the Western World) but then expects an exception to be made for the royal family who are loaded and don’t even use the NHS and have an enormous amount of monetary resources.
I have huge compassion for Kate. I think she’s been incredible over a long period of time in a job I would absolutely loathe personally (whether people say she wanted the gig or not) - but I don’t think William has had her back very much recently from what I can see objectively, particularly over the recent PR debacle. And, being honest, I wonder why that is. I think we’re fed total BS by the press over who these people really are.
I don’t think you can be raised like William or Harry and have any kind of perspective. It’s just logical that you can’t. They had a terrible childhood to be honest. And there are people who hold responsibility for that.
But yes, absolutely, if Kate wants him there, he should be allowed to support his family, no questions asked. I just wonder if she really does?
Can someone who knows actually share what his duties are and how he can work while not being seen?
Tumblr media
Can someone who knows actually share what his duties are and how he can work while not being seen?
He looks at the country with somber frowns on his face and in return the country looks back at him with approving nods. That is what we call a symbiotic relationship.
Tumblr media
How quickly William forgets the way he and Kate were ripped apart prior to the great Sussex Split.  He can do what he wants, but this is inevitably not going to go well and he is definitely no longer a young and handsome sympathetic figure.
Yeah that one reporter said it perfectly when they were speculating about why Will didn’t go to that funeral that William feels he can do what he likes because the press let’s him get away with everything.
Tumblr media
"Working from home"? How stupid do they think people are? waits to see the defense(s) royalists come up with
Is she sicker than anticipated? Because Charles seems to have actual cancer versus "cancer was present" and "preventative chemo," and he is "working" more than William.
Also, don't forget that Camilla has also been out and about and "working," during his treatments.
Something is weird.
Tumblr media
The press’s analysis of him is willfully ignorant as usual. It used to be the kids, now it’s Kate’s diagnosis. Will is telling us his approach to royal “work” is not and will not be the same as the King or Queen Elizabeth. This is his plan for the monarchy.
They've been doing it since he left Eaton. It's one invented excuse after another. Anything to excuse his refusal to do any royal "work" so they don't have to criticize him, and he can keep his "Golden Boy" image.
let him enjoy a normal college experience!
he's only in his 20s! He's got time!
He's an ambulance pilot, let him have fun with that for a bit!
He's not the heir! He's only the son of the heir!
he just got married!
He's only in his 30s! He's got time!
he has babies at home!
he has small children at home!
he's not the King, his father is!
His wife has cancer!
What's next?
Tumblr media
Will is telling us his approach to royal “work” is not and will not be the same as the King or Queen Elizabeth.
Mmhmm well the press and royalists' response to Will telling them he' would rather be a lazy, hands off King is for him to reconsider his entitlement and privilege - reality check for this 40 something year old Prince
Bingo. Start as you mean to go on...which means doing nothing and collecting taxpayer money while you do it.
Tumblr media
William’s work ethic is going to be a catalyst to reform the UK government :/ EII had to be seen to be believed - William believes in not being seen? The republicans will gain momentum with a King who does nothing.
Tumblr media
To repeat what I said a month or so ago when they claimed William was focused on “his work, not social media:” what work?

William's priority, understandably, has been his wife's health and the welfare of their three children. But even before this crisis, he had drawn sharp boundaries to ensure that royal duty does not encroach on family time. This has earned him the nickname among those in the King's circle as the '10am to 4pm' prince, because outside those hours he is off-duty.
~ Richard Kay, "If the Royal family is not quite at the 11th hour... it is perilously close: An impassioned warning from RICHARD KAY that can't be ignored"

Does the writer of this Tatler piece know something that the rest of us don't?
Tumblr media
Kensington Palace's statement on the 17th said she was admitted the day before, which is Tuesday.
So...has Kate been in the hospital longer than Tuesday the 16th? Or did the writer just do some finagling to keep the same discharge date in the readers' minds?
Because that's a serious boo-boo to be making in the first sentence of an article. Except it's been there all day.
The real problem is that Will & Kate have always been workshy. If they hadn't been, the press wouldn't have an angle to work with. However, since Will & Kate have decided to live a self-indulgent lifestyle all these years, including a full year after William became heir to the throne, people are frustrated with them.
Can you imagine how the UK government feels about them? Will & Kate refused to do a tour last year (2023) and said that they would do a tour in spring 2024. Now, here we are in late January and the earliest they'll do a tour is fall/autumn 2024.
Can you imagine these two as King and Queen?
They're incapable of doing jack shit.

Oh, it's pretty shameful, particularly when you consider Prince & Princess Michael of Kent attended the service, even though their son-in-law just died.
Tumblr media
Princess Alexandra attended in a wheelchair.
Tumblr media
But William couldn't attend due to "personal reasons."
Regardless of whatever people thought about King Constantine II, he was William's godfather. King Charles III and King Constantine II were close, even as distant relatives.
William didn't attend his funeral last year while Gabriella did. Now William couldn't attend a service of thanksgiving even though it was held in Windsor, where William lives.
Cue The Will & Kate Cult making all sorts of excuses about how this is related to Kate's health or whatever. It's ridiculous. If Kate wasn't well enough for William to leave her alone at home, then she needs to be back in a hospital. She was clearly well enough to make the 100+ mile trip to Sandringham and back during the kids' most recent break. And did people forget that the BRF has their own medial team? Doctors, nurses, etc.? Plus housekeepers, chefs, nanny, etc.
I'm with @mysteriouslytransparentwitch. It wouldn't surprise me if William is having a mental breakdown. In fact, it's right on cue.

I see being SUPER SECRET about everything has worked out so well for Will & Kate that they had their comms team work on this piece with Roya Nikkhah for The Sunday Times!
A royal source said: “They are at their most open when out interacting with members of the public and I can see a world in which the princess might discuss her recovery out on engagements. If she was going to do it, that’s how she would do it.” A friend says: “They will want to be clear and more open, but they’ll do it when they feel ready. I would expect that to be her instinct and it will be her call. They’re not going to be rushed.”
Sounds like the SUPER SECRET plan to keep everything "private" hasn't worked out when you've become an international laughing stock. International media doesn't have to kiss your ass like the British press! (Let's not forget this entire situation would never even happened if Kate had been photographed leaving the hospital. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!)
Nor should they be, says a source: “In Kate’s case, there is almost nobody else in the world whose face, body, clothes are more judged than hers. So it’s entirely right for them not to want to be drawn into a game about what is going on with her health. What is happening is exactly what they said would happen — she would spend two weeks in hospital and be back after Easter. So what if they haven’t pushed her out there to wave from the back of a car? She is not a show pony.”
"Not a show pony"? I will remember that the next time she gets botox or wears a new outfit. You know those outfits, the ones everyone claims helps British fashion and the like. That IS "a show pony" role.
This entire article sounds like it was created after Will & Kate got a lecture from King Charles on Monday at Windsor regarding the media. If Will & Kate weren't international laughing stocks right now, this article wouldn't have happened.
Oh, and I did notice that they're both going to spend all of the Easter break with their children, including William.
When Kensington Palace announced on January 17 that Kate had undergone abdominal surgery the previous day, the statement made it clear she would remain in hospital for up to two weeks, and “based on the current medical advice” was “unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.” By this, they meant the end of their children’s school holidays, not the Easter weekend. They return to Lambrook School, near Ascot, on April 17, and Kate is still expected to resume public duties from then, though there are no signals yet as to when or where her first engagement will be. William will also take time away from public duties during their children’s Easter holiday.
Totally makes sense that William needed to pick that fight with the British Army over The Colonel's Review now doesn't it? If Kate was going to start working at the end of April, it was clearly a very necessary move!
Oh, and let's not forget William is taking more time off public duties again! Wouldn't want him to tire out as he is the "10am to 4pm" prince. Wouldn't want his delicate self to break a nail or something.

Nothing demonstrates more that The Prince of Wales is a JOKE than releasing a "highlight reel" on instagram showcasing William's six engagements during the month.
So he's up to seven engagements for the year.
And this man has "fans"? Who make excuses for his every mistake?
Pathetic.

I was so happy to see The King attend church this morning. He looks tired but well and him and the Queen walking in sync would never not be adorable.
The KP briefings are just getting more unhinged, especially as BP have smacked down their claims that W would be “taking on The King’s duties”. I don’t think their latest begging bowl request through Roya for William to read The King’s message at the Commonwealth Day will happen.
Looking forward to The King returning to London this week and carrying out more meetings than the heir has managed all year 🍿🤭
Tumblr media
It was great to see Charles. I suspect we're going to get photos of him every week. Charles has no problem giving the public proof of life in this situation.
Charles, 75, will divide his time between Sandringham and Highgrove, and travel privately to London every week for his cancer treatment. Those close to him say “he is keen to be seen”, and will be driven in the state Bentley with its large windows wherever possible when he is in town. He may also release photos and video clips of his weekly audiences with Rishi Sunak, which will take place at Buckingham Palace and which he hopes to continue in person.
I wouldn't rule out seeing Charles at The Commonwealth Day service in March. Obviously, it's too early to know for sure, but he's not going to be a convalescent in bed while he undergoes treatment.
I liked the last sentence in this paragraph:
Queen Camilla, 76, will be a constant comfort by Charles’s side during his treatment and withdrawal from public life on medical advice, and has pledged to put her best foot forward, continuing with her own diary of engagements and flying solo at those that were due to have been joint events with Charles. Princess Anne, the Edinburghs and the Gloucesters will continue to play their parts.
As in, everyone else is doing their jobs, unlike one person.
Let's not forget William needs to have at least TWELVE TO THIRTEEN WEEKS of vacation per year to function as a royal!
So when Roya writes about William "determined to continue to put his family first," um, Roya, when has he ever put his job first? And why is anyone even bothering to pretend he will put "duty" first this year? William gets outworked by The Duke of Gloucester every year, and Prince Richard is older than King Charles.
William has conducted a whopping THREE engagements this year. Will he be able to make it to SIX by the end of February? I'm not going to expect him to work too hard and try and hit double digits. “Unwavering commitment to duty.” AS IF! More like unwavering commitment to holiday.
In some royal circles, however, there is a slight sense of bewilderment at William’s determination to so fiercely protect his boundaries when it comes to his diary.
Yeah, I bet there is.
Time in Norfolk will give him space to think and talk things through with the King.
Oh, really? I thought the kiddos would be there all week, but Charles won't be there all week because he's coming back to London for treatment and work. And William wasn't pictured at Church with The King this morning, so I guess Will ain't leaving Anmer Hall anytime soon. So much for "talk[ing] things through with the King." How is William going to have "space to think" when he's busy playing with the kids. It sounds not so different from life at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.
One of these days, something is going to happen and all of Roya's non-critical articles about William's lack of work isn't going to look so great.
But, hey, another ten days until we get proof of life of the heir to the throne.
