Due to Sonic Speed Simulator being canon, we have confirmation that the Phantom Ruby still exists. The Phantom Ruby plays a part in the Super Shadow event in Sonic Speed Sim as Eggman found it, though Shadow took it.

Been thinking a lot about the Phantom Ruby recently, and realized I should probably explore the designs of the Phantom Ruby clones.

One of my head canons for Infinite’s clones in particular is that... Infinite hasn’t really met the majority of the people he’s able to summon face to face. Since my version of the Phantom Ruby has a large reliance on the mind of it’s linked users, I figure Infinite’s lack of memory of what these people look like probably influences how they look when summoned. This also impacts on how the clones fight tactically but that’s neither here nor there yet.

Thought I’d do his version of metal first since Metal becomes a super plot-relevant character within my sonicverse. Wanted a hard focus on his silhouette since I figured that it’d be the biggest thing Infinite actually remembers about Metal (Metal is ‘dead’ throughout both Episode Shadow and Forces arc). I think I could get away with some color exploration on him thanks to Eggman likely having many photos of Metal for Infinite’s reference, but I honestly kinda like the way Metal looks like the later introduced Phantom here? This is kind of just a first draft so maybe this’ll get updated in the future? Shrug emoji
