So taking bits of other languages to form a new way of communication is a timehonored way to create a new language, particularly with signed language amd the need to accommodate differences to communicate, so long story short even if it isn't a full language yet the existence of GSL (Gentry Sign Language) or GSE (Gentry-Signed English) makes me extremely happy and thank you for saying it is in fact a thing.
Hey no problem! I’m the first to admit I know very little, but my baby sister has been learning it for years, and the little bits and pieces about it I’ve gathered from her are so interesting! I’d honestly love any further speculation on the peculiarities of GSL; it’s one of those things I want to know more about but don’t know enough to write it myself!

Once gathered, the fruit is carted home and prepared for cooking by the women, who are called epepineuses (seed extractors). In a timehonored and, to date, irreplaceable method, they remove the minute seeds from each tiny, pea-size berry by means of a finely tapered goose quill. The seeds are extracted with such deftness that the berry loses none of its pulp or appearance of wholeness. The epepineuses are paid by the kilo and, since a single currant weighs next to nothing, a kilo of currants is a heap of berries. A good worker is able to deliver several kilos a day, and her reputation is further enhanced if the seeded currants are flawless.
