Cheap Pretty Sweater Clips From Ebay

They are all over eBay. About 10€ for 4 of those pretties is not a bad price, right? I figured I'd review them because people on tumblr tend to be interested in this kind of thing and, uhh, "cheap-ass stores from China" tend to find ways to hide reviews that are in any way critical, so I won't bother there. Also there are a thousand shops offering these. It just makes more sense to review them here.

Spoiler alert: They're actually pretty good! But not perfect.

I bought the top left ones. Here are some more candid photos of what they look like, because the ones above never show them from the back.

Off-brand cornflakes package for decoration (I also use them as a sturdy fan when it gets hot).

They do look pretty nice and the clasps are surprisingly sturdy. As you can see on the top picture, the back is either hollow or flat. And I can't tell for sure, but I think the clasps are actually soldered to the top, not just glued. I absolutely expected shitty glue.

There is one big problem with them and that is that the two parts of the clip aren't actually securely connected! There is a little hook but it's so wide open that the parts fall apart any time there's no stress on them. The seller "shows" them being "used" in this very realistic, expertly shopped picture:

...but if you actually used them like this, they'd open the first time you cross your arms or move the two parts of the shirt together in any other way.

However! You can fix this with flat pliers or similar. Generally, please do yourself a favour and buy pliers, there are so many uses for them.

Grab the open part of the hook and gently bend it down. AFTER hooking the closed on into it of course. You don't need to bend it very far, the closed hook is thick and easily trapped. Just bend the open one down a few millimeters, you don't have to actually close it. I haven't succeeded at this with the one that has two small hooks, but the other three pairs are now securely connected.

I think I'll wear them a lot when autumn comes!

Hi yes I am scuttling into your askbox and throwing this headcanon at you: anodizing as a punishment similar to Empurata.

"Anodizing is a process that creates a protective and decorative oxide layer on the surface of certain metals, particularly aluminum, titanium, and magnesium. This process involves submerging the metal in an acidic electrolyte bath and passing a current through it, resulting in a hardened and durable oxide layer. Anodizing can also be used to apply color to the metal surface."

- Paint & finish are scraped off to bare metal or in some cases protoform (depends on the severity of the crime), they get dunked into forbidden electrified mouthwash (very painful) and are 1: often marked for life, similarly to Empurata (in some cases it CAN be removed from upper plating but it takes a LOT of buffing and scraping, the anodizing often shows through paint regardless of the color chosen and is difficult to hide, protoform-deep is usually permanent and too painful to remove), and 2: in the cases of oxide layers (which are commonly applied multiple times), are usually reformatted into warframes and sent to either the Pits or front lines as heavy combatants.

I have this headcanon (with raemanzu) that Nasch is like anodized metal (titanium?) so I had to actually figure out how to paint that effect and that took a lot longer than I thought it would, which is why this is late. I'm not sure how successful I was but I hope it kinda looks like that.

"I'll take it back then-" you giggle, and he instead catches your lips for a quick kiss, successfully making you sit properly again.

"Hm, you're so easy to tame." He chuckles, before he sighs and moves to open it, fingers carefully ripping the paper. "What is it.?" He wonders, opening the simple cardboard box to find a selection of silver and anodized metal jewelry- the rainbow shine of those particular pieces catching his interest. But it's only when he inspects them further, noticing the weight and tiny imprint on them, that he realizes something. "Wait- that's actual titanium? Surgical steel? Silver?" He gasps, eyes wide as he unpacks a pair of rings. "Baby those must've been expensive-"

"But your lip got uhm.. it was all red and you mentioned it was because your skin.. reacts to cheap metals and stuff." You shrug. "So I got you some that won't hurt." You say, and he looks at you with wonder.

You listen. You remember.

He carefully puts the box on the table to fetch his backpack he brought since he's sleeping over, where he takes out a larger, way more chaotically wrapped item, bow somewhat holding its shape.

"Hey, you didn't stick to the agreement either!" You complain with laughter, when he urges you to open it with almost.. worried anticipation. And once you unwrap it, a soft, round and velvety snorlax plush sits in your lap, your hands holding its paws, felt claws triangle shaped.

"You.. I saw you looking at it last time we were out at the mall." He mumbles. "I'm not sure.. I hope you didn't buy it already, they didn't have the larger one anymore-"

You move to hug him, and that's answer enough for that second as his arms wrap around you.

"Thank you for feeding my plushy addiction." You say ibto his neck, and he laughs.

"Welll, to be fair, this dude could stay in bed while we fuck, since his eyes are close- ow!" He laughs when you use that mentioned snorlax to hit him, toy nowhere near hard enough to hurt.

And in that moment, he realizes he's found his place.
